We stayed one night while passing through Saint Malo. The hotel bar with patio had a wonderful view. We also found a great restaurant for dinner just down the street. Parking on the street was not easy on a Sunday.

I had 1 day here at the start of a short bike tour in Brittany and this is very much a bike-friendly hotel. The secure garage storage was ideal and I could access the bike when I wanted to.

The hotel is right on the promenade, overlooking the beach, so perfect for those who want a swim in the sea or a day on the beach. Staff very helpful and the room was very good. Aircon would be nice but there was a good movable cooling fan provided in the room.

I will stay here again.

Very comfortable hotel. Quite central, only a few minutes walk to the main sites of Rennes. Also close to the main train station. The staff were super friendly. There's a small pool/jacuzzi/steam room area for guests to use, which needs to be booked the day before but is very relaxing and private.

The rooms are big, and we had a nice view from the upper floors. We didn't use the bar or restaurant. Look forward to visiting again, we even stayed an extra night as we enjoyed it so much.

A view to die for

Hotel Kyriad is a bed and breakfast hotel so is not going to win prizes for fine dining. However if you are fortunate enough to have a room overlooking one of the most iconic beaches in Europe you are in seventh heaven. Sitting in the bar window above the sea wall you can watch the endless activity on that beach and beyond (kite surfers leap to entertain just you, joggers, walkers, swimmers, cyclists and the sea itself deserve your attention). Then when you step out of the hotel you are surrounded by excellent restaurants serving exotic sea foods (oysters, escalopes, sole) and you have not even walked into the old city yet. This walk is an adventure in itself when the moon is full and the tide is high as many a photographer has recorded the waves crashing against the sea wall. We loved our hotel, it was a joy to return to after exploring the wonders of Brittany around it. The staff were always welcoming and happy to share a joke.

Staff going extra mile...

Nothing too much trouble for the staff we met, especially our new friend Bertrum, who shares his time between reception and bar.
Recommended, hotel situated in quite area, but close enough to busy town, loads of history. We found meals locally quite pricey though but to a very high quality.
Had to call into sister hotel in Rennes as we had failed to leave our room key!! Staff also very accommodating, offering to retain our luggage until we were ready to depart later that day.

A great, hidden gem of a hotel.

We picked this after searching out many local hotels that turned out to be unavailable during our two December days. Kyriad was a reluctant fallback, given its somewhat cheesy exterior from pictures. Turns out that the only cheesy part was the garish yellow signage--the rest was all lovely, well-maintained, and traditional. From the warm welcome, in English, to the comfortable rooms and picturesque breakfast room overlooking the ocean, it was a hotel I recommend with enthusiasm.

Happy stay. Helpful staff who saved our holiday.

On arrival disappointment as our original wishes when booking had not been followed.Breakfast not included and room with balcony as requested not booked. Very helpful receptionist altered booking to a family room costing extra 20 euros a night (9 nights). Holiday completely saved by understanding of staff.
We were not impressed by the original booking arrangements made prior to our stay. In our seventies, we always book breakfast and room with balcony. The lack of these was not made clear on the initial telephone booking. Fortunately the hotel was able to provide for our needs.

After booking in, we enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing holiday.

The hotel staff were very helpful and we had no problem locating parking on the street near by. The terrace that faces the beach is a wonderful place to sit as the sun goes down with a beer in your hand. Would use this hotel again.

Great family room - ideal location

Great location- about 10 minutes walk from walled town. Parking on the street no problem and the hotel is really easy to find when driving. We stayed overnight as we were getting the ferry to Portsmouth in the morning- 5 minutes drive to ferry terminal. Bar has great views of the beach. Room clean and spacious- bit stuffy though as we were in the roof on third floor.

No parking (only 2 spaces that must be reserved ahead of time) but we were able to find street parking without a problem-may be a different situation in high season.

Friendly staff; clean room; quiet floor; free wifi; absolutely stunning and incredible view of the beach and ocean; small balcony to relax on; walked down the stairs and the beach is right in front of the hotel; not too far of a walk from the train station (around 1.2km, 15 minutes); the walled city (around 1.5km, 20 minutes); but it is a bit of a walk to get to the Condor ferries terminal (around 2.8km, 36 minutes); a small grocery store is around the corner (5 minutes walk); overall a great stay.

This hotel is right on the beach, so if that's why you are in St Malo, it's perfect. It's about 20-30 minute walk from the walled city, so if that's where you want to be doing stuff, might be better to live closer.

Quaint but Lovely

The waves hit the stonewalk just outside the windows and when the tide is out you can go swimming straight from the back door. It's a typical renovated old charm European hotel with modern comforts. The town is lovely. The citadel, old town shopping and restaurants within a stroll away. Would love a holiday if we had time.

Booked last minute having decided to go away for a few days to france, shame about the rain. Great Modern looking entrance into hotel, booking in was very easy only took seconds. Room was fairly small but comfortable, with a nice bathroom. We had a sea view, with small balcony. Could not be any closer to the sea, as you are looking straight at the beach. Would have been wonderful if not for the constant rain we had. Its about a 15 minute walk to the walled town of St Malo, straight along the sea front and about 25 minutes from the ferry port. which I don't mind.

Good situation but hotel not up to expectations

Not only is there no parking at the hotel but it is very difficult indeed to find a parking space anywhere in the nearby streets. Hotel lobby is very swish but the room was very cramped and had no view. It was too hot but I couldn't turn the heating down and it was too noisy outside to have the window open, hence an uncomfortable night. The bathroom looked great but in practice was very small with nowhere to put anything. The washbasin overflowed over the side when washing and the towels were miniscule. The shower was as small as it is possible to make a shower and it seemed on the verge of overflowing onto the bathroom floor.

An excellent hotel, right opposite the beach.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and great value. Worth spending that little extra on the sea view, which will provide you with either a balcony or \"bay\" window (allowing access to micro balcony). The view of sea (and crashing waves when the tide comes in) is wonderful.

About a 15/20 minute walk along the seafront to the old walled city and plenty of restaurants nearby.

Right next to tabac, boulangerie and a mini supermarket and \"sandwicherie\" very close by.

Free wifi and reasonably priced bar.

Can't comment on the breakfast as we developed a little habit of buying fresh pastries next door and coffees from the cafe 2 blocks left (although it looked good!).

All in all, a great choice.

Perfwcr Spot for us in St. Malo

We really didn't know what to expect when booking, but the hotel and it's location were perfect. Located right on the beach side of the main drive a nice walk to the old town. Staff very gracious and accommodating, best outdoor terrace on the boardwalk..! I would stay here again, and recommend. My wife and our 2 teenaged daughters were all very happy. Kudos to the bar staff..!

Spectacular !

The hotel is located right on the promenade over the beach, unlike many others that claim to be 'on the beach' but in fact are situated across the (small, but still) road. It has a distinct vintage air about it, but is reasonably well kept in the meantime. I strongly advise everyone to spend an extra penny and have a room on the ocean side. You will be reqarded by spectacular view, refreshing breeze and the comforting sound of waves .

i rented a 2 level room to have ocean view and outdoors space and access. what i didnt expect is for this space to be public, ie the hotel public terrace had direct access to my room. this created privacy issues and constraints. the access to the boardwalk is very good, but know that you are 20-25 min walk from old st malo.

Wir waren von unserem Aufenthalt sehr enttäuscht. Bei unserer 3 Wöchigen Frankreich Reise war dieses Hotel das schlechterste! Das Zimmer hat schon einge Gebrauchsspuren und alles ist in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bad war wirklich schrecklich. Eigentlich hatten wir vor dort zu Frühstücken. Nachdem wir aber das Zimmer gesehen haben, war es uns vergangen.

L'hôtel a vraiment une situation idéale au bord de mer. La salle du petit-déjeuner donne sur la mer également. Le petit-déjeuner est un buffet copieux avec du choix. Petit + de cet hôtel en plus de sa situation c est le personnel au petit soin de bons conseils et une femme de ménage un coeur pour nous. Bref je retournerai forcement. St Malo c est beau.

Plutôt que faire une fixation sur les pinces à viennoiserie elle ferait mieux de contrôler les pass sanitaires des clients ce qui est une obligation et pourtant elle ne le fait pas du tout.

Tres beau week-end passé à Saint-Malo dans cet hôtel très cosy et bien situé. Nous n'avons malheureusement pas pu décrocher la chambre avec vue mer pour ce week-end de l'Ascension mais la chambre vue rue était quand même bien. Petit déjeuner copieux servi en chambre, possibilité de se servir en thé et café à tout moment. Seul petit bémol, la mauvaise isolation sonore des chambres.
Nous reviendrons avec plaisir en temps hors covid pour bien profiter de toutes les commodités.

Hotel très bien placé et service parfait

Hotel à qqs min de la gare en taxi et directement sur la plage; en ces temps de covd19, le restaurant a organisé la commande de repas auprès de qqs restaurants (celui en face fait un saumon à tomber !), ce qui est très pratique (le montant est ajouté à la note d'hôtel). Personnes à l'accueil disponibles et souriantes. St-Malo offre peu de possibilités de commande de repas le soir donc s'y prendre 2 h avant (sic, pour une pizza...) surtout si vous avez des enfants qui ne savent pas bien gérer leur faim.

Dommage je n’ai pu m’accouder en raison du guano du rebord de la fenêtre...
Mais tout le monde a été gentil accueillant et attentif

Séjour à 2 excellent!

Le service à l'hôtel était parfait. L'accueil excellent donne envie de revenir! Le partenariat avec \"le bouche à oreille \" le restaurant d'à côté est un plus à ne pas négliger! Le repas était parfait ! Qualité et quantité ! Quant au petit déjeuner servi en chambre sans restrictions cest le top ! Surtout avec vue mer!
Le seul bémol est que Kyriad pourrait mieux entretenir les chambres et l'hôtel en général (volets roulants abîmés, facade avec logo incomplet, peinture écaillée, traces sur plafond, billard...) , mais côté service et personnel tout était parfait!
Nous y retournerons sans hésiter !
