Great hotel. Very pretty and striking, and has parking and a tasty breakfast. It’s a ways out of the middle of the city, though, which I would say was its only flaw. (If you’re staying because of tge ECJ or convention center, it’s perfect) It would’ve been a solid 5/5 experience except for the location - as is I’ll call it 4.5/5.

Quiet, comfortable room in a nicely upgraded hotel. I would say that this is really a business hotel more than a tourist hotel. And, you're a few miles away from the main tourist area. However, I have no complaints about this hotel. The staff was helpful and it's about a 10-minute free and direct tram ride to downtown. And the trams come about every 4 minutes. Breakfast was good and parking ($19 Euro/night) was convenient.

The staff (particularly in the reception) were very friendly and helpful. They really went out of their way!

The only downside was the breakfast with the scrambled eggs that looked like a bowl of soup - as if they weren't even cooked at all. No surprise that no one was eating them. No cooked eggs seemed to be available.

Yes, the hotel isn't brilliantly central and Uber/Bolt/Taxify doesn't exist, but the buses and tram are useful and for the great weekend rate this was a brilliant stay.
Possibly the most comfy bed I'd ever slept in; I even drew a luxurious bath and the Italian restaurant downstairs has a brilliant quality offering. The topped up minibar on water/soft drinks is appreciated, great toiletries, luxury shower and great lighting and coffee station all adds to me giving this property 5 stars for value, comfort and overall feel.

Staff were superb and very well trained. A couple of snags in the room which i pointed out to the reception - bedside reading light panel loose, window handle loose.

This hotel is beautiful, truly. You walk in and gasp at its sheer beauty. The views from the elevator are something else. The hotel itself is lonely, it’s ahead of itself, waiting for the area around it to develop, but I say that with little knowledge for what goes on during the busy periods. The tram is right outside so access to town and shopping is easy. The hotel bumped us up to an executive room as refurbs we’re going on at the time, which was fine by us. Really lovely room, most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. If I get the chance to come back to Lux, I will be staying here again.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. The soundproofed rooms were great, air conditioning system quiet and the bedding was fantastic. We loved the free mini bar to that provided water and soft drinks. My only disappointment was the lack of a pool at the hotel that I was surprised about since it is a five star hotel. The location of the hotel turned out to be good as it linked in with a fantastic transport system in Luxembourg city and further into the whole country. Would definately recommend this hotel.

Expensive and standard business hotel in boring part of town. We booked this hotel thinking it was the more centrally located if the two. The hotel and staff were nice but the location is not centrally located for tourists.

Just returned from a lovely relaxing stay in Luxembourg for my boyfriends birthday. The staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating. Very grateful for the complimentary upgrade to a beautiful room and sweet treats on arrival. Lovely hotel, in the financial district, direct transport links into the city or back to the shopping or cinema in the main financial area. Very peaceful (except for the building work that started at 7:30 on Sat morning but the soundproofing in the hotel was excellent) so aware of it but not a major problem. Area around the hotel is being developed into further shopping, offices and social district will be brilliant when it is all finished but at the weekend no real impact on the quality of our stay.
Staff were superb, multilingual, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great, although expensive at 28 euros, huge choice of food and different daily choices as well as the constant favourites.

Very Nice Hotel

An overnight stay travelling from Italy to UK. The area around the hotel is currently undergoing regeneration. The hotel itself is quite amazing, located right by the tram to get into the city. As I was only staying for the night I didn’t make use of the dining facilities. They did look very nice however. The rooms are very spacious. The hotel has car parking nearby which it shares with companies and the Novotel.

Hotel room was very spacious & extremely clean. The bed was amazing. Location-wise its Approx 10 mins by taxi to the airport and about 20 mins walk from the city center. It’s in the middle of an industrial estate with nothing to see or do around it though.

Building works inside and out !

The hotel is undergoing renovations, one floor at a time. The noise of drilling is painfully and if we had known of these works, we would have booked a different hotel. It’s fine if you leave the hotel for the majority of the day. The drilling was before 1000 hrs on the Monday. Our room was very clean but somewhat care worn in places belying the rating of the hotel. Lovely choice at breakfast but we did not use the main restaurants. In all honesty, and for what it’s worth, they should close the hotel temporarily and blast the works through avoiding unhappy customers. Good transport links to Luxembourg - trams / buses are free in a Sunday. Easy self/-parking outside which is free. As an aside, the hotel footprint abuts beside another building site!!

Nice hotel but very noisy

The hotel was undergoing renovations during my stay, ordinarily I would not mind this but found I was regularly woken up at 7 in the morning by the sound of drilling. The rooms in general are not sound proof, which made for a difficult nights sleep, everything from the rooms next door to the corridor can be heard.

A nice hotel, however I do feel whilst renovations are being undertaken room prices should be heavily discounted, as paying for a 5*hotel should include a 5* experience.

Wonderful 5 Star property and service

The stay was wonderful from the first moment.
1)Room/Amenities – great and warm room with all amenities you expect from a place like this and even more: free soft-drinks in the mini bar and flowers in the room. The place is very quiet.

2)Gym is well equipped with Technogym machines. There is premium water and fruit available

3)Breakfast was very complete with perfect service

4)Staff – always friendly, always helpful – just perfect for a 5 Star property

There is a warning about construction noise as there is renovation on the 2nd floor, but despite people working over the weekend I did not hear anything.

Good but also a little bit disappointing

The room is spacious and comfortable but the bed mattress is strange and includes \"mountains and valleys\".
There is almost nothing to do around and the only close public transportation station is the Tram (160m away). The bus stations are far away (650m) and you should get there by the Tram.
Breakfast is too expensive.

The bed was not comfortable as they usually are in Sofitels. Also, there was an unfortunate event and the fire alarm went off. It wasn't anything serious and everyone was well. These things happen of course, but there was NO staff to guide and support guests... No explanations as to what happened after either. Disappointing...

Beware of hidden charges

We arrived at the hotel and upon checking in, we were told that breakfast was included in our reservation. Upon checking it, we were charged the full price for breakfast on both days that we stayed. I told them we were told it was free on checking in, but they just said they were sorry we were misinformed but it's not included. I didn't mind paying, I just didn't want to be lied to.

Reception staff need to more attentive wrt communication. Initially they told Breakfast is already included and confirm after checking in systems. Excellent hotel. The rooms were clean and came with slippers, robes, and nice toilettries. Must pay to park at hotel. Staff were friendly polite and helpful, they make this hotel stand out. Not great for families/tourists however as the hotel was located relatively far from main square, in the business section of the city. A high quality hotel with exceptionally polite and helpful staff, the Sofitel Luxembourg Europe would be perfect if travelling for business.

Poor location and a major noise problem

I really wanted to like this hotel as I've stayed in some good Sofitels in Miami, Chicago and London, but this stay was hugely disappointing. The location is in a new business district surrounded by office blocks and nothing else so there are no facilities within easy access, no shops, restaurants, bars or cultural attractions. It's a considerable distance from the city centre. I appreciate that interior decor is a personal thing, but a floor-to-ceiling insistence on a deep pinky-orange created a strange and quite gloomy atmosphere. There were 4 cans of fizzy drink in the minibar, I wondered what the point of that was. However, the biggest problem with this hotel is when they have \"private\" functions in the atrium. The hotel is arranged so that the rooms open out onto an inner balcony overlooking the atrium, a space which gets narrower towards the top creating a sound chamber amplifying any noise from the ground floor, so more than 100 people shouting, screaming, hooting and hollering while they bang plates and glasses repeatedly until midnight is going to impact upon the comfort of guests. I know these people would have been paying a high price for the facility, but the place is simply not designed so that rowdy functions and sleeping guests can co-exist. This is not a bad hotel by any means, but the location and the ridiculous decision to host boisterous parties in the same area as bedrooms will mean we'll look elsewhere next time we're in Luxembourg

Quiet location at weekends

Parking is seldom a problem at the Sofitel, unlike the nearby Novotel, and the reception staff are courteous, friendly and efficient. The layout of the hotel is charming and airy. We stayed at the hotel overnight en route to Austria and its location is ideal for fast access to the motorway. Although in the business quarter away from the City centre getting into the centre is no problem, either on foot or on the open top sight seeing bus.

The hotel is wonderful. There is some confusion, especially with taxi drivers between this hotel and another Sofitel near the station. If you are here as a tourist, it is out of the way. Busses run frequently. The nearest attraction is the museum of modern art. You can walk to the old town.

Impressive hotel in a good location

This hotel is on a main road about 2 km outside of Luxembourg City centre,but buses to the centre and to the airport in the other direction are cheap and frequent.
You enter the hotel through a very impressive lobby,and go down one floor to reception.We were checked by an absolutely lovely receptionist who encouraged my attempts at speaking French and explained where we wanted to visit on the map.
We did not have breakfast as we felt it too expensive at 27 euros,and indeed we were also rather shocked at hotel prices in general.However,the bar prices were moderate and the drinks very good.
The room was spacious and clean with very comfortable beds but the ambient temperature was too high for us.
Several private parties took place throughout our visit but it is to the hotel's credit that they didn't disturb us at all.
