Staff were super friendly and professional. We had no problem of communicating with them in English. The building is right beside the subway, a huge underground shopping centre and food. Room were spacious but lighting is a bit dark. Its worth to include the breakfast when making the reservation.

It was a unique experience with a japanese take on western hotels. It was quietm staff were nice, and had good accomodations for foreigners. Breakfast option was also delicious inside the hotel and is a 3 minute walk from the biggest shopping mall ive ever seen.

You get what you paid for

The room is downright disgusting.

I just dropped something on the floor and it has other peoples hair on it. They didn’t even vacuum this place.

What looks like mold and hair in the bathroom. Scraped up desk. Yellowed phone. A fridge that looks older than me. Gross chair that looks like it’s been through a war.

Noise? Yep, you can hear everyone's rooms and any talking in the hallway. It's an old building.

Everything is just old

Here are some good points to consider

* Checkout is 11am and checkin is 2pm!

* If you hit the right timing, rooms can be low as $45-55/night

* Quite spacious. Opened up my luggage and it remains open because there's enough space.

* Internet that's actually usable! 40mbps and stable. I'm watching a Youtube video as I type this.

* I feel this hotel was once considered a very nice hotel (maybe in the 80s?). The decor and carpeting feels dated, but still nice.

* Location is right above the tip of Yokohama Station. You have to walk a bit, but you do this walk in the train station. You don't have to take any extra train/bus to get to Yokohama, you are there. There are stairs you need to take up from the train station to get to the hotel. I'd say about 25 steps, but I lugged my 50lb luggage up so you can too!

* I like that I can go downstairs into the train station at 8:30pm to buy up food on 40-50% sale before they closed.

They wanted to charge me again although I already paid. Then they sent us to a single room with a tiny bed with 1 pillow although we were two guests and we had paid for a double room with 2 beds. We had to go back and eventually they gave us the proper room. The room was dilapidated, broken walls and ceilings, and the shower curtain had many moldy stains.

Worst hotel for price i have ever stayed in. Extremely run down and lacks any comforts of a decent Hotel. From the Moment you get out of the lift the place just stinks of smokes. Will have to clean everything when i leave here. Only saving grace is the staff that were always great. Would get better facilities in a backpackers.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was delicious with both Japanese and American breakfast food. The room was very clean. The shower came with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap, and the toilet seat was heated. There is no downside, although there was a lot of static electricity on the sheets and bathrobe.

The whole hotel smells of cigarette smoke but it's not always obvious at all times. Room is quite small but clean. Toiletries are provided for and replaced daily. The bathrobe is amazing; it's double weave cotton and very warm.

Our stay at Yokohama Camelot was great. It was the last two of our stay in Japan and it was good to have the room space to relax and to repack after 24 days of living out of a suitcase.
The location was great and once we had our bearings we were able to navigate our way around the train station.

We are a family of 4 adults who visited Japan for 2 weeks. I'd stayed with Camelot once before and liked the service and location. It's near Yokohama Station which was good for us as we were traveling by train nearly everyday. The bus to Narita airport also leaves from this station. Shopping, dining, entertainment, almost anything is available in or near the station, underground and above ground. Camelot's staff are helpful and cheerful. They held our luggage, shipped our luggage, exchanged yen, dispensed info in English which made our travels easier. The rooms are small by Western standards but you can use travel organizers (like packing cubes) to help adapt. I would stay with them again.

Old and Tired Hotel good location

Great location near Yokohama station (take south exit 12) but other than that the rooms are very old and tired. My room for 1 person had 2 bed stuffed into it and I couldn't even fit my normal sized suitcase between the bed and the wall. Potential language barrier issue, I speak Japanese so I didn't have a problem but if you are unfamiliar with checking into a hotel in Japan this can be an experience here. Not worth the price in my opinion, unless your looking to relive the 80's.

You get what you pay for

The room is clean but small and not even a wardrobe or closet to hang your things: just two hangers and a metal bar. Very minimalistic. While the bathroom was clean I was wondering why is there a gap b/w a bath tub and a wall. I hope we were not flooding the neighbors:) The location is close to Yokohama station and you can get to Minato Mirai or China town really easy. Getting in and out is easy: convenient for traveling. The tourist info bureau is at Yokohama station and they were great! The website said you could rent a wi-fi but they did not have anything available:( The staff is not too helpful or just not comfortable with the language (hard to tell). Extra bonus: Jonathan's restaurant is next door and they do have an English menu and take credit cards! Great breakfast location.

The twin bed room that we had was too small for two occupants. Beds were together. Bathroom too small. Shower was over the bath. Could not turn off the heating of the toilet seat - ridiculous waste of energy. Room air conditioning would not cool the 28 degrees outside temperature. A most uncomfortable night. Would not stay there again.

Hotel still uses metal keys for the rooms and issues only one key per room regardless of the number of guests. No free WiFi is provided. No closet space either. TV is smaller than most computer monitors used these days.

Trip experience from Narita Airport

We took Narita Express from the Narita Airport to Yokohama Train Station costed 1500 Japanese yuan We went out from the West Gate in the Station and walked to the hotel. The hotel is nice and clean. The staff there are friendly. The hotel is close to Yokohama Train Station and it is behind Sheraton Hotel, it is hard to find it from the Station. I suggest that the hotel should give direction to the customers from the Station.
We stayed there overnight and went to the Pier to the cruise. It is easy to walk back to the West gate of the Station to take the subway to the pier. The pier is the 4th stop from Yokohama Station costed 210 Japanese Yuan.

This is the kind of hotel we prefer near the train station with reasonable rates, comfortable size and very accommodating staff. We like that the hotel is connected to the train station via an underground shopping mall that's a huge plus when it rains. The Camelot hotel is great - Hotel's.com - not so

I arrived early from 23 hours of travel. Hotel's dot com did not inform me of any early check in fees... In order to take a shower - I had to pay the equivelent of 50 USD for the first night's stay. The first room they offered was on the smoking floor - which they changed once they understood I was a non smoker. When making the booking my government credit card did not go through. The attendent accepted my personal card and did not inform me that I was going to be charged for the entire stay. I thought the company would hold the reservation with my personal card, so that I could pay with my government travel card upon arrival. As it turned out, hotel's dot com could not reverse the charges allowing me to pay with the government card... In short - the hotel that I stayed at - Camelot - is a great hotel for a quick layover / short business trip - I would go there again. Hotel's dot com - not so much.

Good location, great staff, but dingy room

The hotel is located right next to the entrance to an underground shopping center that contacts to Yokohama JR rail station, which is quite convenient. As with most hotels in Japan, the staff and service exceeding expectations. The room was small, but no smaller than most typical Japanese hotels. The only drawback was the condition of the room. There were stains everywhere, from the carpet and curtains, to inside the lampshade. This made my stay a little less comfortable than I would have liked, but the dinginess of the room was really the only drawback.

Hotel is older now, but in good shape. Staff was very helpful and considerate. Location is at the end of the Yokohama station underground passage, which allows you to pop up right at the entrance to the building (good for cold weather). Great place to stay for connection to Narita Express in the morning.

A quality business hotel in the center of Yokohama

I checked my parents into this hotel for their trip to Japan. It is a center-city hotel so you can't expect the rooms to be particularly big, but the hotel makes up for this by providing a feeling of luxury and quality with nice carpeting and nice materials. The staff was very nice and service was excellent.

It was the most expensive hotel from all of the others that we stayed at and the worse as far as looks, maintenance and the size of the room! I know pictures don't show the truth but of all our bookings this was the most disappointing one. Have to say that although the accomodations were not too good, the Japanese restaurant was totally outstanding and out of this world!

The Hotel overall was very good. The staff was really friendly and spoke some English. The hotel room was a bit small, but that is normal in Japan, and the beds were a little hard. The hotel was very clean. They had a small, decent western style, buffet breakfast, not great, but not bad. The hotel is right next to a huge underground mall, and very close to the Yokohama station, which is very practical. Very close to starbacks, 7/11, and Fridays. We stayed for 8 nights and were just practically there to sleep at night. We went to tour around Yokohama and Tokyo. Overall the hotel is pretty decent.

Great location if you want to stay in Yokohama

Great location if you want to stay in Yokohama and travel to Kamakura(Big Buddha) and Nikko(World heritage). From Narita airport(Haneda is closer) I take the train (NEX) direct to Yokohama. It is very convenient because the hotel is next to the train station. The station is not too big and many interesting shops along the way. My plan is to stay in Yokohama and travel to Kamakura and Nikko before Tokyo. So after two days I move to a hotel in Tokyo.

Hotel was very convenient given the location near the Yokohama station. If you walk through the underground \"Diamond\" shopping area, you take exit 12 which brings you up right beside the hotel itself. I stayed here for a quick overnight and it worked out just great!

Great hotel, make sure you stay off the main road to find the entrance. I walked around the entire huge block trying to find it. Your Phone GPS will have problems with all the buildings nearby. Once you find it, it's very nice. English speaking too :)

Use the underground Diamond Shopping for best access to the hotel and avoid having to climb steps over the streets to reach the hotel above ground. Hotel has typical compact rooms usually found in Japan, but clean and functional if a bit old. Abundant supply of restaurants surrounding Yokohama Station also convenient.

Suitable for quick stay

I just needed a place to stay overnight and this hotel was fine for that. The hotel is accessible via underground shopping tunnel connected to Yokohama station (exactly as a previous reviewer had described), which was very useful since it was pouring rain when I arrived and I only had a very short expanse to cross that wasn't covered once exiting the tunnel. The room itself was clean and typical in size for what you would expect of a moderate Japanese hotel, although if I were to stay for more than 1 or 2 nights I would probably opt for a slightly larger space, but proximity to the station of this hotel is definitely a plus.

Hotel is in a highly accessible location, about a five minute walk to the train station and thus access to all the restaurant, stores and services that cater to train riders. The hotel itself is on the older side is situated next to the freeway so although there is a window, keeping it open is not recommended because the constant vehicle air pollution. The carpet and chairs in our room were stained to the point that only replacing them would rid of the problem. The biggest surprise, or shock I should say, is on the very top floor. On the 14th floor is a \"Dance and Drink\" bar where scantily clad women (think Las Vegas dancer show types) offer up themselves for dance. We did have a major customer service issue while at the hotel and night time manager who I will call Mr. M did all the right things and corrected the mistake. Based on the entirety of my stay, I probably would not have considered staying at this hotel. But because of Mr. M\"s superb customer service skills I am now considering choosing Hotel Camelot on my next visit there.

Exceptional value - I will stay here again.

Good location - minutes from railway station and other shopping locations. Here are some instructions to get there to the hotel from the railway station. Take the WEST exit - as soon as you come out of the station, you will find an entrance to a tunnel with a lot of shops inside. Take the tunnel straight and walk till the end and take exit #12 (last exit). The total walk is about 3 minutes. When you come out of the tunnel, the hotel is right in front of you. Wish I had this clear instructions in the hotels.com website - it would have saved me a 2 minute cab ride. Also best way from airport to Yokahama station is by the Narita Express train (a bit pricey but worth it).

I stayed at Japanese style room and it was my first experience of Japanese style room!. It was a great to experience and perfect for my little daughter.
It was 10-minutes working distance from Yokohama train station thru underground shopping street. If you find underground shopping street-Diamond and proper exit-south 12, it will not be difficult to find the hotel.
Hotel staff was kind but they do not speak English very well.

was what i needed

After a long flight it was an easy place to locate from the Yokohama train station. Use of the pedestrian underground is necessary to cross the street, a pity this is not on the maps. And the staff were most helpful. And the breakfast buffet was varied and cosmopolitan.

Excellent value for money

The staff were excellent although knowledge of the Japanese language is a benefit as their English was limited. They were happy to help with any issue however, 24 hours a day, and they couldn't help you enough. After 12 days there, I felt I was saying goodbye to old friends when I left. The hotel was located within 5 minutes of Yokohama Station so was a convenient place to stay. It was very clean and comfortable. I would happily stay there again when I next return to Japan.

Hotel suitable for a short stay, central location, the covered access to Yokohama train station through underground commercial center is nice on a rainy day. The bathroom is relatively fair sized for this class of hotel.

Extremely cramped rooms for the price and location

We weren't uncomfortable, but did feel a bit fleeced in very small rooms in a very dark and old hotel.

My favorite hotel room during my trip to Japan

I like the rooms in this hotel. Mine was a corner room, very quiet, and somehow spacious although it was small. The bed was large and I had a nice view. The room felt like my own little apartment in Yokohama. The hotel is located right next to the train station which is convenient. Also there is a small restaurant around the corner called \"Halloween\" that I went to for lunch and it was very good. I was able to check in early because my room was ready. My only complaint about this hotel is that the elevators are very slow.

Good fallback option

Conveniently close to Yokohama station - good for day trips to the environs. If seeing sights in Yokohama, stay closer to Minato-mirai. A bit outdated on the inside, but quite ok.
