This is an older hotel property close to Riga airport and the highway to the city. It has an on-site restaurant and an always-on free coffee machine, but there is little else in the immediate area. Friendly staff and free on-site parking, so good value for money for a short stay.

Very close to the airport, there may be better choices and less expensive places around.. this hotel was fine for a short overnight stay.. use Bolt, the taxis are a bit more expensive.. no elevators, this would be a problem if you had a couple of heavy suitcases. Breakfast was included, simple buffet with a few local Latvian breakfast items included.

I stayed at Mara in 2013 & unfortunately it has disintegrated- 1 person to act as receptionist, bartender,waitress- Mold on ceiling in shower- toilet old 14\" high- charges for basic services - staff untrained...waitress put ice cubes in red wine glass- dinner menu had under 12 items & bad quality.- musty smell to room- grounds unkept.

Not far from beach!

Affordable hotel near Jurmala beach. Even though being an airport hotel this is also good location for a visit to Jurmala, if you are travelling with car. Only 10 minutes drive to Jurmala!

Really friendly helpful receptionist. The airport is so close to the hotel some taxis even refused to take us and others wanted €10 euro. It should t be more than about 5... you can bargain or just get another cab. A transfer service would be most helpful by the hotel even if with a fixed fee to avoid this.

Arrived late and was well received and helped with bad taxi driver ..receptionist came out and helped .
They showed real carrying and helpful.

Clean nice room and shop in the lobby with variation .
Booked taxi hotel back to airport and half price.

We were given a clean, spacious room with a comfortable bed. The carpet was old and worn but serviceable, and the room had not been updated recently. Shower was the handheld kind that sprays into the wall when in the holder-- not my favorite. No extras are provided and breakfast and sauna use are pricey so we did not try them. Overall, a decent value for the price.

We stayed here before an early flight. The restaurant dinner was fabulous and desk staff arranged a taxi for us for the morning. Unfortunately there is no elevator and we were on the second floor, which meant hauling bags and a stroller up and down the stairs unassisted. Also there is no air conditioning and even with fans set up in the room it was stifling hot with one window labelled “do not open”. It wasn’t good value for what we paid, although we did make it to the airport on time bright and early.

Room was bigger than expected (called \"apartment\" with a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom), hotel had a sauna which was a nice surprise but I didn't have a chance to use it. Room was a bit cold because it was mid summer and the thermostat was dialed to zero and they probably weren't expecting the cold weather. Things were nice and clean, shower was a bit weird (shower head had a screw loose that made it impossible to adjust and the shower didn't have separate temperature/pressure adjustment, it first ramps up the pressure and then mixes hot/cold based on how far you turn the single dial) but worked fine.

Arrived near to midnight and everything was all ready for us with a warm welcome. We were even ok to have a drink in the bar to unwind after a long flight. Room was great, much larger than expected. Breakfast was basic but perfectly acceptable.

This is good option if you need close to Riga airport. It is not within walking distance but a short taxi ride. It was advertised that they had a shuttle, but on the night we stayed that was not available.

We had a great stay. We had a very early flight and wanted a short commute. The hotel provided that. Our only complaint was the restaurant. We left prior to breakfast, so cannot comment on that. We had dinner there. The waitress was very nice, but there were only 8 customers and it took over an hour for some of our food.

Close to airport

Stayed here the night before an early departure from RIX. The hotel was clean. We departed too early for breakfast, but they prepared a bag of goodies for us to take along.

A good basic hotel if you require a hotel close to the airport without any frills at all. Very very basic breakfast and horrendous coffee. Very little choices for breakfast and when they have run out they do not replenish the items. Get there early if you want to eat.

Close to the airport, easy to get to the city.

Everything was ok. Staff speaks good English and is very friendly, they arranged transportation to the airport for me and early breakfast before that. If you are coming there by public transport, it's very easy to spot them when you go from the airport, but going from the city center better ask the driver to stop at the right bus stop.

Hotel for transit through Riga

this is very handy hotel for transit travel through Riga and I always stay there. It's location by the main road and close to the airport(and beach in summer) is perfect. It does not provide full standard of **** hotel but is still acceptable and staff is very helpful.

Great Airport Hotel

Hotel is very convenient to the airport. The breakfast was included and more than adequate. There is no A/C, but a fan is in each room and the temperature was not an issue. The hotel is not near anything, but has a quaint rustic setting with convenient access to major roads. WiFi was adequate and the short walk up the stairs to the room was acceptable.

Location location

Hotel is near Riga airport,but not within working distance. Shuttle service is provided for guest with a fee. This is a typical motel as in North America, pretty basic overall. Besides near the airport there is nothing nearby.

Best western Mara

Hotel is a short distance away from the airport. The pick-up shuttle was reasonably priced and easy to arrange; just drop the hotel an email and they will coordinate it for you. The staff I encountered was very welcoming, opening up the restaurant quickly when I mentioned that I was feeling hungry after a late-night flight. It's noteworthy as she was the only one manning the check-in desk then, so she had to do double duties. She still found time to converse with me and give me recommendations for a day trip the next day, which was highly commendable. The room itself is nothing much to go on about; a clean bad and a decent bathroom. The staff however made it more interesting than most of my other short stays, as I found the experience very personal and less detached than most mainstream hotels.

Could not be more thrilled - highly recommended!

Service at hotels in Latvia is usually very different than those in the US, but this hotel strove to provide all of the comforts Americans are used to. The cleanliness of the room was top notch, the staff were friendly, and they even accommodated an extremely early breakfast (3:30am) and arranged a 4:00am shuttle for us to catch our plane at the airport. They provided us with a printed bus schedule so we could easily see how to get into Riga Center and back. We had a very comfortable and quiet night's sleep. We absolutely would stay at this hotel again.

Overpriced

Overpriced, we were given a west facing room, temperature was 28c with no airconditioning.

When quedtioned we were given a fan. Breakfast was average, not what we have experienced with Best Western. Courtesy transport to the airport was appreciated.

Not bad for the price.

Hotel was close to the airport and only costs a few lats to get a taxi. The hotel reception greeted me when I arrived and gave me the key to my room. The room was in decent condition for the price. The blankets had holes in them from what I can suspect cigarette burns at one time or another. The windows in my room provided me with a great view of the lawn that looked great when it snowed. The curtains were a bit ripped in places but they were still able to do the job. Breakfast was provided and consisted of meats, cheese, fruit, hard boiled eggs, occasional scrambled eggs, bread (and toaster), fish, crackers, and breakfast beverages. When agreeing on the price for the room, expedia for some reason of another was unable to add the 12% VAT into the price of the room. So each nights stay in the room was 12% more than what was listed on the website but could have been avoided by calling the hotel before booking the room. Overall not a bad stay.

Остановка на одну ночь в номере \"Апартаменты\". Нормальная гостиница советских времен. Мусорное ведро после предыдущих гостей не выносилось. Утром горячей возы в душе было не дождаться :-). Безусловное преимущество - близость к аэропорту. (водитель такси был сильно огорчен, узнав, куда мне надо было ехать, так как совсем не выгодно) . Так что если у вас с нет тяжелых вещей, на улице не темень и холод - то вполне можно дойти пешком. Если не привередничать - то все нормально

Transfer hotel, 2 busstops away from the Airport and a short 5 minutes walk. For the price you would expect a boiler and service water but there wasn't. There was a shop selling small bottles for 1,50 and large for 3 Euro. Internet was okay and a lot of parking places. There's nothing around the hotel as far as I've seen.

Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist für eine Übernachtung optimal in der Nähe des Flughafens.
Das späte Abendessen (Hamburger) war offenbar aus altem Fleisch gemacht. wir haben beide davon Bauchschmerzen und Durchfall bekommen.
Das Frühstück hat seinen namen ebenfalls nicht verdient.

Tähän hotelliin ei kannata mennä jos haluaa nukkua. Koko yön kuului monenlaista kolinaa tms.
Sisustus ja WC-kalusteet vanhanaikaiset. Lähimpään kauppaan pari kilometriä ainakin. Hyvin on kyllä siivottu, mutta ei sillä pelasta kaikkea.
