Lovely wee hotel in a great location. Ideal for what i needed. Booked 2 rooms and were given 2 next door to each other. Room was basic but clean, tidy and warm. Hot water took a few minutes to come through but when it did the shower was great, not an issue and maybe just due to room location. Our rooms were on the top floor which wasn't an issue for us but be aware there is no lift which could be an issue for some. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful

It’s a very nice old building carefully remodeled and converted into a small hotel. The room is small but classic furniture gives it a Charme. The shower was full of long black hair. The only significant drawback is the lack of a lift and as a handicapped person to climb up to the 3rd floor is a catastrophe

Lovely Hotel in a Central Location
Just back from a lovely long weekend in Riga. We stayed for 3 nights at the Old Riga Hotel which we found clean, comfortable and warm. The reception staff were friendly and helpful too. There was not a huge selection at breakfast but it was adequate to start the day. In all this is a very nice little hotel in a central location and we couldn't have made a better choice. We loved it.

I already told you that I thought sleeping 3flights up in a room with dormers was overpriced for Riga. When I booked the web site said they had continental breakfast, when I arrived I was immediately told my rate did not include breakfast. This is all bullocks. They don't serve ANY breakfast unless you ordered it for11 euros. Then they bring it in from somewhere else. I Really feel that Hotels.com owes me 6 euros. I do not feel comfortable dealing with a hotel service has a discrepancy with the information the web site has and what the hotel offers. I definitely feel cheated. I do no appreciate going to a hotel to a ceiling room isolated up 3 stair cases. I am sure there are better value hotels in Riga.for a person over 65 traveling alone I would not recommend this hotel.there are lots more accommodating hotels for better value in Riga,Latvia.

A wonderful stay for any visitor to Riga
I had a wonderful stay in the Old Riga Hotel Vecriga. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and breakfast that was served each day was a good selection of hot and cold food. The room was comfortable with good light in the windows and easy to open for ventilation. The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from the centre square in Riga which is a great situation for any first-time visitors to the city. A definite recommendation for anyone coming to Riga to stay here.

Located in the middle of the old town, I didn't have to bring many things while looking around the area. I could just go back to the hotel and go out again. Breakfast buffet has a couple of hot meals. I enjoyed it every morning. I saw four receptionists. All of them are kind and friendly. Definitely, recommend staying this hotel.

I loved this hotel! However, I may be a bit over the top about this hotel only because the hotel I stayed at the first night was so horrible!! But whatever the reason, I found this hotel extremely satisfying in all areas but WiFi.....they really should say No WiFi available since it was so intermittent as to be nonexistent. But the room was large, the bed was comfortable, there was air conditioning, and the bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was located near the lobby and was wonderful - You could even order omelettes or fried eggs. Location was great as it was centrally located to all attractions.

Fantastic hotel - central to main square
We were a group of 6 people who stayed at the Hotel Vecriga a few weeks ago. The hotel is really central to the main square, shops and cafes, so easy to walk to town from this location. The staff were really helpful and friendly, gave us some excellent advice on places to go and arranged transport for us. The rooms were really comfortabel, spacious and airy, with everything you would need. I would definately stay at Hotel Vecriga again if I were to return to Riga

I booked this hotel after reading so many good reviews about this hotel. But we were quite disappointed. The hotel is located nicely, inside the old town. But the hotel service was not so good. The room was smelly. The hotel is built in an old house. When we booked the hotel, we opted for the service with breakfast. But after the booking, we got to know that they charge extra price for breakfast. The breakfast was also priced highly, considering the relative price level of other services. We made this trip along with our trip to Tallinn and Vilnius, and we must admit that our experience in Riga stood at the bottom of the list.

It was a very pleasant over all experience at the Old Riga Vecriga hotel. The location is very convenient and easy to find. It is an old building from the 1700's and in the old part of Riga, which is just like old Europe. Cobblestone streets and all. Old Riga is absolutely beautiful and would be best in the summer. Prices are very good. I went to the opera for $20 USD. There is an enormous market close by - indoor and out. The restaurant at the hotel was closed for renovations while I was there, which was a disappointment - it has a fireplace and and outdoor section, but the staff were wonderful, and happy to bring complimentary tea, coffee, and breakfast to the room. Everything is within walking distance. It was wonderful.

Old Riga Hotel Vecriga
After 5 previous visits to Riga, (which shows how much we like the old town) we decided to try a different hotel (as we had always used the same one before). We checked it to what seemed a pleasant, clean and tidy hotel as indicated with my ratings. We were only there for 2 evenings, but unpacked our few belongings before venturing out into the town. We returned early evening to freshen up for the evening, only to be told there had been a mistake with our booking and that we would have to check out in the morning as they had double booked. They said they had booked us into a suitable hotel around the corner. As you can imagine this changed our so far pleasant experience. They had booked us into the other hotel on the 5th Dec it was now 31st Dec, so not only were we not informed early Dec, they didn't even tell us at time of checking in. I went to check out the other hotel and found it to be even better than this one. So name of hotel I strongly recommend is the Old City Boutique Hotel.... I returned and demanded that they check us in there immediately for the 2 nights and save us the hassle of having to get up early to check out and possibly then have to wait to check in etc, let alone waste time when we should be enjoying our trip. Give them their due they accommodated us immediately with our request.
Now in their defense. They said they didn't have our contact details as we had booked via hotels.com who in turn had used the Expedia database. I made the booking with Hotels .com so at the end of the day I see it as their duty to have informed me. But Expedia would of had my details, and hotel could have also asked for them to contact us. Plus for the hotel to have overlooked this minor detail when we checked in also seems crazy. It was alls well that ends well, but could have been very different. Make up you own mind. Gave one for hotel service, as what else could I give after not letting us know this information. But the way they handled the problem was first class, so I dare say they would normally be very good presuming this sort of thing doesn't happen every day. Bit like a double negative equals a positive I guess. You decide :-)

Very good situation, quiet street althougt at the middle of Old town. Workers were very kind and friendly. Our wish beforehand about the ground floor room was taken to notice. Breakfast was served to the tables and we were informed additional parts of breakfast like pancakes.

The hotel is small and a bit hidden to a side alley. Old building with rustic atmosphere, but very clean and authentic. We stayed in 3rd floor, room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. An extra plus for very convenient parking just 20 meters from hotel door (not easy to find in Riga old town). Breakfast was good, maybe a bit limited due to COVID-19, but sufficient.
