We stayed here in 2016. It was a top luxury boutique hotel. It has changed. In my opinion, it is now a good, but ordinary, upscale suite hotel. The Champagne and caviar breakfasts are gone, replaced by a poorly staffed buffet. The outstanding service is replaced with good, but ordinary service.

Very beautiful restored historic building in quiet courtyard with restaurants and coffee shop right outside. Very comfortable spacious rooms well fitted and great view into courtyard. Friendly efficient and helpful staff. Responded immediately if asked for something. When we return to Riga we will definitely stay there again.

The location of this hotel is nice but it is rather stripped down in terms of amenities and service. Limited staff. Virtually no paper products in apartment - no tissues, no paper towels in kitchenette, etc. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered or they needed 30 minutes to make something.

Excellent place to stay.

Excellent place to stay, rooms were very big and very clean. Receptionist was very good and explained everything very clearly. Good location too, we took a nice walk through the park tot eh old town.

Really enjoyed the stay at this cute hotel Bergs. Rooms are large. Breakfast was lovely. The staff at reception helped us find our way to the main food hall, the Vincent restaurant and some other exciting places in the center. You can walk to most of the places as Riga is not very big. Would stay there again.

Nice Hotel, Ideal Location!

The location was ideal - close enough to the central train & bus station. Took the mini-bus to and from airport for .90 Euro each way. The hotel is close enough to Old Town. The room was a nice size studio. There was also a functioning A/C in the room. Unfortunately for me, I was assigned a \"disability access room\" which meant my bathroom was spacious enough, but taking a shower proved to be a difficult task as the shower head atop the bathtub was installed to accommodate a disabled guest. Other than that, it was great!

Quiet haven close to Old Town

This proved to be a friendly, well appointed small hotel in a quiet area 10 mins walk from the Old Town. Rooms are tasteful suites with all mod cons, fast wifi, good bathrooms. Service is friendly and hepful, breakfasts were delicious and the little kitchenette well stocked with tea and coffee. Not cheap but good value for what you get. And it was a special weekend with the Midsummer Festival going on.

Good hotel and the room is spacious. However, there is one problem with the curtain. It's NOT blackout curtain. So the sunlight really disturbs my sleep especially in the summertime when the sunrise is early.

This property is an absolute gem: the preferred destination of visiting royalty, star conductors, and everyone in between. It is discreet, elegant, and luxurious, and is a destination hotel in its own right. I cannot recommend this place more highly. And given the state of Lativa's economy it is actually great value compared to comparable hotels elsewhere in Europe or the rest of the world.

Disappointing

Not a particularly attractive location, squeezed in besides many other buildings. The room we were given was spacious, but did not receive any natural daylight and so was quite gloomy. The fitness centre was having maintenance during our stay and so was difficult to access. A member of staff was standing directly behind me, observing my personal internet use on the hotel computer, which was rude and a breach of privacy. Overall, disappointing experience.

Good design

The room (Studio Suite) is very cozy and clean. We had a nice stay here.
Breakfast is nice too. We can order freshly squeezed juice and a la carte. This location is good. But a little bit hard to find in the beginning since there is construction going on in front of the hotel.
Walking distance to the X'mas market in the old town.

At the airport the driver greeted us on arrival and made many good recommendations on the short trip to the hotel.

The best hotel in the area. Very professional. Close to the park for kids and shopping center, all within walking distant. Hotel has excellent gourmet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everyone is super helpful and kind. We had pleasant time staying here. We will be back:)

Situated close to the old city, the Bergs hotel was a delightful surprise in an elegant area, surrounded by fashionable restaurants and cafes. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, the hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and when they learnt of our son 's birthday he received a beautiful delicious cake, compliments of the chef.

Genuinely 5☆ hotel

Stayed here for three nights for my partner's birthday treat. We had a lovely, big, very well equipped corner room with three large windows, which made it light and bright. The bed was enormous and very comfortanle and there was a living area, kitchen/dining area and work space. The bathroom was also large with double sink and full bath and bidet. The TV was well placed and the bar well stocked. There was also a large wardrobe and drawer space with a safe. Check-in was smooth and staff were always very helpful and courteous. Breakfasts were amazing, with a huge selection of tasty dishes to choose from. Seating was very comfortable and we never felt rushed. It was nice being able to relax until turned 11am before setting forth for our sightseeing activities. The hotel was well located for all of the main sights.

After staying at Radisson Blue Elizabeth for a few nights this place felt like a palace. Huge room with high ceiling, superior bathroom, bed and everything else you can think of. Highly recommend this hotel won't regret.

Outstanding Boutique Hotel!

Unfortunately, we only had one night in Riga to enjoy the great city and this marvelous hotel. The staff was excellent and the room was fantastic. We are definitely going to go back. It is very close the train/bus station and close to Old Town as well. Highly recommended!

Small Gem in a Gem of a City

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for two nights and completely enjoyed it. The staff is first class, the rooms are spacious and the location is very convenient to Vecriga and the shops and restaurants of the Bergs Bazaar. The wonderful little breakfast buffet is enhanced by the exceptional wait staff. We did not use the spa and the restaurant was closed during our stay, so cannot comment on those amenities. Highly recommended, particularly for couples looking for a romantic getaway to Riga.

Comfortable Hotel Terrifically Located

Traveling around Baltic and this hotel made our stay in Riga really special. The breakfast is terrific, staff takes great care of you and helps make the trip fun. Rooms are very spacious, liked that they give you a bottle of water everyday; there is a refrigerator to keep water and treats cool; and a very easy walk along pretty street to the Old Town where all the action is. The Manager arranged a tour of Runsdale Palace for me, just what I wanted at a very reasonable price. My only negative is when I asked staff where I could find a laundromat, they didn't even try to help

The stay was ok, but I have realized that I was charged for a key that I forgot to bring on a check out at 04:50 at the morning . The charge for plastic card was 25 EURO!!!!!! I just realized , that I was charged after looking in my credit card bill . When I have called to hotel to ask for receipt on it, no one apologized and explained me why , no notification , just a simple charge for peace of plastic. I was very impressed by design and very nice room , but this charge and the way it done ruined completely all my good impression and my next visit I am for sure not going to stay there.

Central hotel on the edge of the old town and a very short walking distance from it's centre. I had a very spacious, smartly furnished room. Staff were friendly and very courteous. There was a buffet breakfast but should I have wished for something special to be prepared a menu was provided. I ate in the hotel on my first night. My starter and main course were delicious. I'd recommend this hotel to friends if I knew they were travelling to Riga. A very enjoyable stay.

The Bergs is very comfortable with excellent service from all staff we dealt with. Rooms were lovely, spacious and included a small kitchen and lounge space. The only difficulty was the bath/shower which was rather a tight space. Otherwise everything was perfect!

Simply Amazing hotel to stay in :)

Actully i loved the stay to much in Hotel Bergs it is one of the lovely Luxury Small botique hotel i had ever had, staff are too much friendly breakfast there is an experiance the hotel location is center of everywhere in downtown and near to old city ... i really felt at home and i really enjoyed Riga and will return back soon n diffently will stay at the same hotel.

A wonderful hotel in a perfect location to visit Riga old town - great breakfast, friendly staff & a lovely large well furnished room which we were really happy with. The only sour note was our return airport transfer; having spoken with reception on our day of departure & agreed a 3pm time to leave only to be phoned in the middle of our lunch to advise we should still have checked out at midday & to come & check out immediately! I would have much preferred to have been told that during the conversation a few hours before. Ended a fantastic trip on a bad note, particularly considering it was my husband's birthday....

The nicest hotel on our trip through the Baltics.

The hotel is on the edge of a nice neighborhood - walk one direction to the parks and old town; the other is not so nice. However the Hotel Berg is lovely. The room was an enormous suite with very nice modern furnishings it included a small kitchen/bar area , living room & bedroom with 3 or 4 large closets. The staff was gracious. Breakfast was nice and included. Bergs was the nicest hotel on our trip.

Attractive hotel, good service

They strove for excellent service. They quickly fixed my Wifi three times in two days and changed the safe battery so the safe would work. My main disappointment was that I requested to stay in my suite for a third night at the rate I had been paying, though in two days since I had originally booked it, the price went up $35. Even though there were three suites available, they wouldn't negotiate. So they lost my money, and I saved $150 by switching to another hotel that night.

It is an attractive building, and I liked my suite. The Scandinavian decor was nice, though I couldn't help but wish to see more of the old school manor touch.

Tiny safe; my iPad + case barely fit, but the front desk stored the rest of my valuables. They also helped me book a rental car and tour.

Great Riga location

I have stayed at many hotels in Riga and Bergs is the best. The location is great; not in the Old Town, but an easy walk through the parks. It has a great breakfast and nice on-site amenities. And its physical layout and courtyards buffers it from the city's business. I will stay there again next time I am in Riga.

Don't get me wrong, this hotel has all the bells and whistles. But I didn't feel at home. Great for businessmen and yuppies, but the decor is generic and quite soulless. And given what they charge, it's outrageous that they don't include a full breakfast. Wifi was pathetic - kept on dropping out. Not good value for money.

Service + Comfort + Location + Room & room Amenities + the size of the room + the 12 pillow options I had on the king bed + peacefulness and quietness + restaurant = The perfect Hotel and Perfect stay :) My second stay at Hotel berg and after this I don't think I will choose any other hotel in Riga ;) I travel a lot and Hotel bergs suites & rooms are certainly a room to classify as awesome. To improve it all: throw in a Espresso machine, and the shower doors need to be long in length, not half as water gets on the bathroom floor, the bedroom curtains need to be thicker n darker, morning sun n daylight woke me up too early. Apart from those 3 small needs everything else in this hotel and room is great.

A Wonderful Winter Trip

We visited Riga just before Christmas and found both the city and the hotel to be wonderful. The hotel is close to the old city but there is plenty of things in the surrounding neighbourhood such as the shopping centres and restaurants. The staff in the hotel were incredibly helpful, spoke perfect English and were very pleasant. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean and well maintained and an excellent price for such luxury! We hope to visit Riga in the Summer and will definitely hope to stay at this hotel again, if only for the pillow menu.
