Very good hotel. Faultless throughout. Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was very nice. They offered biscuits and tea throughout the day which was a nice touch. Hotel is located in a good area on the edge of the old town. Walkable to everything. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel

The AC/Heather system needs a major overhaul it’s too noisy.
The shower curtain is rooted in some parts, needs to be replaced.
The TV is located at the left side of the bed and it’s very uncomfortable to watch TV.

Very easy and pleasant check in, the newer rooms are much nicer than the old ones. Breakfast Buffett is pretty descent . Location is very good and walkable to everywhere. A beautiful park and the opera house cross from the hotel. Very nice staff all around , front Desk, house keeping and at breakfast .

Enjoyed a 3 night stay in Riga. Hotel in excellent location near all tourist attractions and bars/ restaurant.
Staff very helpful.
The beds were extremely firm/ hard and air con was quite noisy.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel, great location (right by the station, but an easy walk to all of the city's sights & lots of bars/restaurants). Just not quite the standard we were expecting from the price- it was all very clean & comfortable, but we were expecting a little more.

The hotel is brilliantly placed for arriving/departing by train or bus and for walking in the old town area. Travel to and from the airport is easy, and plenty of green space around.
Reception staff are lovely.. helpful, charming, pleasant, knowledgeable.
Breakfast selection and coffee machines great.

Lovely hotel on the edge of the old town across the road (or through the underpass) from where the 22 airport bus stops. Staff are lovely and the reception, bar and breakfast areas are beautiful. The room is quiet, tastefully decorated and comfortable and the bathroom is modern with a great shower. Breakfast was nice and set us up for the day. We made a good choice booking this hotel, would absolutely recommend and will definitely return when returning to the amazing city of Riga

The Metropole is a beautifully renovated old hotel. We loved our stay here. It was convenient and the staff were so helpful and kind. Our room was well appointed with a huge king size bed! We certainly will return and highly recommend a stay here to anyone! Thank you to the staff for a magnificent stay!

Really nice cosy hotel, my room was ideal as was a solo traveller..Staff really friendly, shoutoit to Igor as super helpful.. Mini bar wasnt cold and hester was not hot, housekeeping checked but did not make any difference. Would have been good to have more vegetarian hot food choices at breakfast. Would recommend the hotel though.

Enjoyable stay for our family

A charming hotel with a comfortable bed and modern interior. Breakfast was delicious. The only negative is noise from trams outside. The hotel does provide earplugs (which is a nice touch) but if you are a light sleeper, earplugs may not help.

Metropole hotel is located literally across the street from the bus station. So, its super convenient. The hotel is beautiful. It has all the old world charm with the new age conveniences. Their breakfast options were incredible, room and the bathroom were spacious & clean. Hotel is in walkable distance to every thing & even the shopping mall is right around the corner. Highly recommend staying here in your stay at Riga.

Okay hotel, 10 walk from the bus station. Five minute walk into the Old City. All of the tourist sites are very Supermarket and shopping stores all within five minute walk. My room was a standard twin bed for one person. It was small but clean. It had a hot water kettle, coffee and tea packets, mini fridge filled with hotel soda drinks and alcohol drinks, and TV, and air conditioner. Breakfast was very good, eggs bacon pancakes, potato paddies toast jams rolls cereals juices, coffee tea variety of meats and fruits.

Beautiful newly renovated hotel! Air conditioning, elevator, comfortable beds, best breakfast buffet I ever had. Room was a little small and tub was an awkward shape but those were minor issues. Convenience store on the corner and easy walk to all of the old town. On a main street so there is some traffic noise. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Riga!

Beautiful hotel, very well designed in a busy city centre. Perfect location, close to everywhere - old town just behind you, Central Market and bus /train stations cross the road. Bus stop to the airport a few metres away from hotel. Rooms are big and there's everything you need to enjoy your stay - comfy bed, nice shower, plenty of storage space. Delicious breakfast and good coffee to start your day. And of course, friendly and welcoming staff in a reception and breakfast room.
Highly recommend.

Easily accessible by public transportation, perfectly situated between the Old City and the Art Nouveau district, the Metropole is one of Riga's best hotels. Yet it is surprisingly affordable.
Rooms are small, but the hotel dates from a time when rooms were just for sleeping. Public spaces are attractive and clean. Staff is multilingual and attentive. The \"Gastropub\" De Commerce 1871 should receive better notice: it's a lovely space with first class continental dishes and an excellent bar.

The Metropole is a grand old hotel. It’s lovely and in a good location, just on the edge of Old Town and a 20 minute walk to the Art Nouveau section. The breakfast is superior with many delicious offerings. Staff friendly and helpful.

I emailed the hotel several times that I would like a quiet room away from the elevator and one that is not facing a busy street. At check in I received a room facing the very busy street. I asked to have my room changed and the guy in charge acknowledged that they received my email requests but said in Russian to the trainee at the reception “give her the small room” not realizing that I understand Russian. It was the smallest room on the floor. When I opened my not so big suitcase (26”) it filled the space between the window and the bed leaving me a small passage to the bathroom and door on the other side of the bed. I believe I was downgraded based on the description of the room I prepaid for. When I mentioned to the guy in charge that the room was very small, he shamelessly offered me an upgrade for €40 a night. Hence the 2 stars.

The location was great within walking distance to all the major tourist attractions in old town Riga.

Fantastic hotel in great location

I had a fabulous stay at Metropole. The hotel has been recently renovated and it has the upscale feel to it without being obnoxious or intimidating. The rooms are spacious and everything is done with attention to detail, including breakfast.

Bedding is very comfy (the bed is a bit too firm but not a problem for me), fluffy towels, heated floor in bathroom, powerful AC, everything is just perfect. It’s an old building, so the rooms are also well-insulated. The desk is also comfortable if you need to use a laptop while staying here. The curtains keep room very dark.

The hotel guests seem respectable, so you won’t have problems with loud drunk guests roaming the corridors. I highly recommend this hotel to any discerning visitor. Great location too near shopping and transport.

We had a very small dog with us, choosed this hotel because it’s pet friendly. At the reception they charged us for the dog about a quarter from the room price, it doesn’t matter if the pet is a hamster or a horse, the price is the same.

Really like this place. On the 5th floor. Superior room booked but appeared to be a suite.

Hotel entrance/reception was welcoming.
Location close and walking distance to the old town and main train station
Rooms were of a good size (twin). 5th floor. Facing the front of the hotel. Beds were comfortable. Air con was good.
Bathroom & amenities in the room were good. Had slippers, but no robes or complimentary water in standard room though. Had to buy from the minibar or the shop on the corner.
Breakfast was great, with a lot of selection of hot & cold foods.
Only downside I would say is the wifi not working/intermittent in the room and only one lift available, which could mean a wait at busy times, but other than that a pleasant stay with no issues.

This hotel is in a very good position, It is close to the old town, the railway station, the market and a very good local supermarket. All the monuments and churches are in walking distance, and the tram stops very close by if you want to venture further.

The staff are probably the best thing about this hotel, so friendly and helpful.
That said the rooms are really well appointed and we were lucky to be away from the street so our room was quiet despite being close to the centre of town. There was always a good choice for breakfast, although best to go early as it gets very busy after 8:30. Didn't try the restaurant but it looked nice and there was a 15% residents discount including at the bar! It is close to the train and bus station (5 minute walk) and the central market. It is right on the edge of the old town, the art nouveau area is a 20 minute walk away.

The hotel is close to the old town, a nice park,the freedom monument,the main train station and the covered market. All in all an excellent location. The hotel staff were good and efficient. We did not eat in the hotel because we wanted to explore but the food looked good.
