Very good spa, rooms are beautiful, well stocked, great location, no noise, excellent dinner, highly recommend. Only thing i wasnt keen on was the breakfast, it was quite limited but it didnt matter too much.

Fabulous time in the snowy beauty of Riga. The hotel was a charming oasis of warmth and hospitality with every creature comfort. The price/value of a perfectly placed hotel in the capital was great value too.

The room and hotel were lovely. The geometric carpet throughout the residential floors was stunning. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom design was incredible. The staff were helpful and attentive. The on-site restaurant was also great (although the menu was a little limited) - the food and service was excllent.

I would however like to point out that room service is not 24 hour (as it says in the Expedia listing) - the kitchen shuts at 22h00. We arrived at 11pm which meant we had to order using a delivery app, which was a little disappointing.

Very friendly staff, excellent facilities, superb selection for breakfast and spacious rooms. Loved the soa which we used every day. The only issue was the noise from the courtyard( which our room backed onto). A lot of banging and crashing in the early hours woke us up most nights.

We had a great stay at the Grand Poet hotel. We had a slight issue with a noisy adjoining room at first but they moved us to a different room straightaway. The rooms are big and we had a nice view of the city whilst still being quiet. There was a great selection for breakfast and the spa/pool was lovely. The staff were all very helpful and on my birthday we came back to find a bottle of sparkling wine in our room. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is beautifully decorated. The rooms are huge - heated bathroom floors are a nice bonus. The spa area is amazing!!!! Breakfast is ample. The staff all around are fantastic-highly recommend this hotel. Also the location is perfect-right between the old town and the new area so it’s conveniently close to all the sites and restaurants.

We were really looking forward to our stay as it was my husband’s first time visiting Riga. I had seen the hotel on a previous visit & loved the location beside the park.

Unfortunately - we were allocated a small, dark room at the back of the hotel that was looking directly onto the walls & windows of other rooms. If you choose this hotel, pay the extra for a room with a view.

Disappointing as we were staying for 3 nights.

Because of this I would not return.

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel is lovely; however, they have music playing in the corridors, and it is supposed to go off at 11 pm. It didn't on our first night? We weren't sure whether it was someone singing in the building next door. We complained abiut the music. The 2nd night, we had a couple above us shouting all night, and again, we hardly slept at all. We complained twice, and eventually they asked them to stop talking at 3-5 am! They
gave us some prosecco for the first night and upgraded us to a suite for our last night, where we didn't hear any noise. I suggest that they stop playing music in the corridors. It doesn't always turn off!

The hotel was immaculately maintained and had a lovely ambience. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was extensive and enjoyable. And most importantly, we enjoyed an excellent night's sleep for each of our two nights stay. Thoroughly recommended.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Ate in restaurant, sampled a number of cocktails and wines and thought breakfast was of very good quality. Room well appointed.

Something that let the hotel down was low quality, small and coarse bath towels, pillows that needed renewed. One safety issue noted in bedrooms that I think they need to address also in the turn of the wall outside of the bathrooms. The space between the area between where the suitcase stand is and the space between there and the wall has a very sharp edged surface to it. There could be a sympathetic edging to reduce the risk of injury, but it is a risk and we both noticed it.

Overall a great stay.

The hotel is very nice. The walks around it are something to behold. The river is especially awe inspiring. There aren't as many 'destination's to go see as a tourist but I don't see how thats the hotels fault. Great place to stay and unwind, recommend.

We got a free upgrade to a junior suite, which was lovely with a separate sitting area and a nice coffee machine. We spent a good bit of time in the spa, it was all beautifully tiled with lots of things to try. We also had massages which were wonderful and relaxing!
Breakfast was delicious with a wide selection to choose from.

If you like a feel of luxury with an imaginative boutique feel to it, Grand Poet is your hotel. The breakfast and the spa were out of this world. Located dear a gorgeous park and steps away from the old town. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Our room on the 5th floor had tremors: likely a generator or piece of ventilation equipment above us on the roof. The bed shook, the glasses rattled. Not restful. The front desk person blamed it on the road traffic. Ridiculous, as it happened without traffic too. Beds were very good. \"Snob\" restaurant uninteresting and expensive. No gym. Spa good. No parking!!

Everything about the hotel was excellent except the spa area. We paid extra to use the facility however only used it twice as it was very noisy with people talking loudly and young children splashing about in the pool. Not a relaxing spa experience at all

The hotel is fantastic. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The spa is excellent and on an evening 7-10pm only over 16s are allowed in which made it more relaxing. The breakfast had a huge selection and very tasty. Would love to stay again.

This is the best in class based on by visits to hotels in the area. Excellent breakfast and probably the best of the best. I cannot list all the positives which are countless but I will mention the 3 different temperature Saunas which i don't even have in my upscale gym. Medium size and nice swimming pool for short laps.I suggest upgrading the thin towels unless I happened to use the floor towel by mistake :) . Great service and overall of top in class hotel. This gets a full mark using the rating system for other hotels in the area.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Grand Poet. Great location, with an easy walk to everywhere, yet away from the noisy crowds. Lovely, spacious room, comfortable bed with super soft sheets, beautiful bathroom also. Breakfast was plentiful, including lactose and gluten free options. The Snob bar staff was also very friendly, reserving a table and turning the tv to tennis channel for us. All in all one of the best hotel stays and would happily stay here again!

Great food and service. Just few recommendations for improvement:the room was looking in the courtyard, and had only blackout curtains. That means we have to keep them drawn day time as well otherwise we would be seen from the opposite rooms. Also, there is not a Cafe in the hotel.

The spa was disappointing as there were toddlers in the jacuzzi using it as a swimming pool
so you could not get in .

The middle room for breakfast is very canteen like which is a pity . Breakfast was amazing- the rooms are spacious. We had a lovely weekend so central.

We had a fantastic stay in Grand Poet Hotel. We booked the Deluxe room and we were given room 419, which had a fantastic view over the park and Riga old town. There was plenty of room for 3 people including our son. Room was tastefully decorated and super clean. We utilized the valet parking which was really convenient. Charge was 30 Euros per night. Hotel was walking distance from everything, including all the nice restaurants in the old town. SPA was nice, but a bit overcrowded at all times. Highly recommended.

Great hotel in Riga

Nicely located away from the noise but 10 min walk away from the old town. Love the spa and the jr suite was an excellent size and super quiet.

Staff were very helpful but, like most in Riga, not super warm. Only downside is there are not any restaurants super close if you want to eat outside the hotel. The food at the restaurant was really good though.

If we came back, we’d definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, close to everything. Very nice, interesting decor. Breakfast is great and plentiful.
The room was extremely hot when we arrived, 78F. The ac did nothing to cool it down, and we had to sleep with the windows open. The area is very busy so we did not have a restful sleep.
TV kept turning off and had to be reset continuously.

Overall we had a good stay, the service was great and the staff very helpful, however the airvents not only transfer air but also all the noise from the next door room. We had a family with a small child as neighbors and were woken up by the child crying.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, wonderful breakfast buffet, nice spa, great location on beautiful park right next to Old Town. Unfortunately, my bath drain was clogged when I arrived and I had to get it fixed on three separate occasions during my five-night stay. While response from staff was immediate, they did not seem particularly concerned when i approached front desk staff the final time and told them this had already happened already two times prior. Overall, nice stay, but 5 stars is a bit generous.

Excellent hotel near the old town & everything within walking distance. Was here over new year. Disappointed that the bar was closed by 12.30 on New Year’s Eve. Breakfast was excellent but the plates were cold everything you would want for breakfast was there. Spa was excellent first day was so busy so we decided to go after breakfast about 9 am & in the evening about 8 was quiet. & more manageable a lot of kids in during the day. Will definitely go back here.
