Staff and service was awful. I asked to give us a room that was shown on a picture when I reserved. They gave us small tiny room. We were gay couple and the look that reception women gave us when we asked for double bed, was disrespectful. We wanted to have a coffee in restaurant at 1p.m., we asked a server nicely and she said kitchen is closed, but she brought 2 cup of coffee for a different guests. You have to ask everyday for a parking code which is annoying. Overall 1/5

Comfortable relaxed environment. Breakfast can get a little busy early doors but if you have time to sleep in then its more than comfortable. Locally good shopping at the shopping center, great foodhall, various shopping opportunities. Locally some good bars within walking distance or a simple Bolt taxi into Riga itself can be promising.

I have stayed frequently at the Elefant which is near the anir and the city. Its is a quality hotel with a good value. Hotel manager Zhanna and Restaurant manager Christina are professional, kind and conscientious. Breakfast is a great value.

Excellent option not too far from the airport.

Excellent option not too far from the airport and on the right side of town to avoid traffic in the morning. The area however doesn’t have too much to offer and it's a bit of a way from the centre. I experienced the bed as too hard but it might just have been me. The restaurant was excellent as was the bar, useful given few other options in the immediate vicinity. There’s a spa with massage but you need to book ahead so I didn’t experience it. Big room, comfortable and quiet.

The place needs some proper TLC, TV is so out dated and many channels impossible to watch due to bad picture quality.
Although breakfast runs until 11am, after 10am they were out of quite a few things that were not topped up.
It used to be one of my favourite hotels, and it’s sad to see its quality dipping.

Trying to find this hotel at night was impossible there is no clear signage so ended up driving past three times. The reception staff were rude and didn’t feel welcomed at all. The breakfast was ok and to be fair the staff members at breakfast and check out were pleasant. Also hate when you don’t have a iron in the room!

There is no heating, staff offered to downgrade my room but keep the same price of what i originally paid, told us to leave if we were not happy regarding their heating issue but not offered a refund. Its winter, when you book with a hotel you want to be comfortable but it was a bad experience and i had to leave the hotel and stay somewhere else. The staff were not helpful. Definitely would recommend to stay away from this hotel during the cold weather, there are not enough blankets that would keep you warm in that place! Expedia tried their best to help but the hotel refused to refund even after leaving the hotel once you check in!

Fantastic new and well-kept hotel! Location next to a busy ready, but keeping the windows closed blocks all road noise. Just beware that the black-out curtains are not so black-out, which might cause issues during the early morning sun for people with light sleep. Possibility of free parking on the streets next to the hotel (upon availability).

The property was chosen because it is walking distance to the US Embassy. The restaurant did not serve my son and I for dinner. There was nothing else near except CircleK!!!! The restaurant was not busy, 2 other sets of people but one set was 8 people. Another table of 3 sat after us and was server!!!! The table of 8 sat after us!!!! Finally after 25 min the waiter came and told us they ran out of things and it would be best to go someplace else. I AM A SEASONED TRAVELER AND NEVER HAVE EVEN HEARD OF THIS BEFORE. You can contact me for more details of this saga. Thankfully we were there just 1 night.

We requested two separate beds for the room, and the response we got was “just separate them”. When we trie to do that, we noticed that the two beds were tied together with a tape and a single sheet covering both of the beds. Then we rang the reception and asked for a solution and after 15 mins someone came upstairs with a single sheet, and a pair of scissors asking us to sort it out on our own and give the scissors back. This is not the service I though I deserve. The receptionist, was standing at the door and we were sorting out the bed.

Do NOT use extra beds, they are hard as wood and squeak like hell when you move. The sofa bed is said to accommodate two, but one will barely fit there. We were missing baby crib which we order during the registration and one set of sheets. The personnel was polite and sweet and everything else was satisfying.

Noisy room - was situated above entrance, so could hear large parties of people talking and laughing all night as they smoked or waited for transport. Did not sleep well. One very small wardrobe area with no drawers - not adequate for three people. Good variety at breakfast, though no toaster one day. Pancakes were not labelled as containing meat. Staff were generally friendly.

It was really nice hotel only little bit far away from the city center.
Staff was so nice, and hotel was pretty clean.
The only thing we didn't like - you can hear almost every single voice and steps in other rooms. Those voices woke us up at night time.

For a 4 stars hotel it is unacceptable to have a soap feeder without liquid on it.
The breakfast area was louzy without proper coffee.Staff on this dept have no a supervisor/manager to coordinate actions.
Only exception the front desk staff which was supportive and polite.

The hotel was great and the staff helpful. There wasnt much within walking distance except a cafe and a big shopping centre. The restaurant food was excellent. The breakfast was indifferent. Orange juice, champage.hash browns and bacon all at the same temperature! A good choice of things but could have been better.

Overall nice stay, good breakfast and convenient location. Though the concierge at the check-in was not very friendly and in fact was quite irritable. Also a little disappointing was that the hotel did not have suites with two rooms and valet parking. I was trying to upgrade our stay to have more space and was not able to, because they said that the hotel didn’t have such amenities.

Great concept hotel good location for the airport

Well designed high quality hotel with spacious comfortable rooms. Great location to access the airport but a bus or taxi ride fron the main town & old town. Potential is exceptional but let down by poor communication & advice from staff eg reception & restaurant a few metres apart but poor communication between the two. On check in asked for a table for dinner; advice no need to book but arrived for dinner 7.30 & restaurant was full. Advised to take a short walk into town. It’s not a short walk & a very narrow footpath with steep curbs along a very busy main road. Staff on balance were flippant to concerns.

Perfect hotel for less money in Geneva!

The location was great, close to everything in Geneva! You get free bus tickets with your stay. Parking is about a 3/4 mile walk from the hotel. Clean comfortable room , only drawback was during a heat wave, which we had, the fans in the room can't keep up and you need to open the window. Then you get traffic noise throughout the night.. Will stay here again!

I would only recommend for travel in the off season. The room was clean and beds comfortable but the air conditioning was totally inadequate. We have stayed here in the winter and found it quite nice and the staff were very helpful and accommodating on both trips. We had early flights out and they had a breakfast packed for us upon leaving. This time, with the hot summer weather, we found the room too hot for relaxation and sleeping. The hotel staff worked hard to make it better but the fan control did not provide for enough cool air to reach the room. The bathroom is quite roomy but the very deep shower tub made it a bit difficult to get in and out, especially for those of limited flexibility. Other than the room temperature it was good and the promity to the airport made it a quick trip early in the morning. Overall our experiences with Rixwell properties ( Rixwell Centra and Rixwell Elefant) have been quite positive.

I stayed at the Rixwell Elefant with two friends (June 2018), and we were told that hot water was unavailable in the rooms for 4 hours in the late afternoon. After the water was turned back on, it was brown coming out of the faucet and left a deposit in the sink. We called the front desk to report the issue and received a surly response. No one ever came to our room to inspect. The sink and bathtub both showed deposits, presumably from the water.

I only expect hotels to provide three things: a comfortable bed, a hot shower, and reasonable service. This hotel failed two of those three.

A very good hotel. A little out of town so had to use buses and taxis, but modern and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and all spoke good English. Food was good and prices acceptable. Bed was comfortable. Very few English speaking channels on the TV.

Modern hotel on the way to RIX airport.

This is a great hotel in a quiet part of Riga, away from the center. The room was spacious, clean and had everything for a great night’s stay. I chose the location based on the fact that it was close to the airport and my flight was early morning the next day. Ride to the airport was 7 minutes.

Booked for 2 nights however stayed only 1 night as next day had to fly to Vilnius and evening booked another flight to London Luton. Morning had to leave to the airport around 5.45am and the Hotel arranged for takeaway breakfast. Also food was good at the restaurant. Can't complain

Had a really good stay...clean room and bathroom. Staff friendly and provided more milk for room when requested. Also very helpful in helping with map reading!

My only problem was that I lost my purse but was my own fault As didn’t think I had put into safe provided. Did email on return as well but not found.

Requested a wake up call on13th December. Also verbally booked it for Wednesday 13th December at reception.Was rung up at 4am on 12th December instead so did not get a good night's sleep. It was an error. Told to rebook but then told by reception, there was no need, there was a communication problem/error. Also when I arrived on 12th December to check in they said you can have a takeaway breakfast so let them know I was vegetarian and there mustn't be any meat. Was given a bag with a yoghurt, apple, water and a ham with cheese sandwich. Had to throw ham with cheese sandwich away as couldn't eat it. Also I asked for a taxi to be booked and asked how much it would be. Told 10 euros was charged 15 euros and was not informed that it wouldn't be a taxi but possibly their shuttle service agreement which is 15 euros.Taxi driver said it was fixed price. The hotel is very close to the airport and 15 euros was too much for the distance and time it took. They charge 15 euros from hotels from the other side of the river in the old town and city centre.
No toilets near to gym so have to walk through bar and restaurant sweaty while people eating or in shorts and trainers to get to the gym or cut short work out. Can't get back into gym once have come out and have to queue for a long time at reception to get let back in which is very inconvenient.

Awesome hotel abd great value in Riga

We can recommend the Rixwell Elefant Hotel to everyone. This is a great hotel with super value. It is modern, with a pleasant design, great and friendly service, clean and well appointed rooms (even with slippers), fast & reliable internet service. The only thing that was missing at our second stay was a shower curtain in the bathroom. The location is good between the airport and the city, but there is not much to see or do nearby. We opted to eat in the hotel restaurant with was very nice with great service, as apparently there is no restaurant nearby. We highly recommend this hotel in Riga and would definitely stay there again.

Great stay at the Hotel Elefant. Lovely comfortable quiet hotel. Spacious clean room with all facilities. Very good breakfast with a glass of champagne if required and a different choice of hot ,cold and baked foods each day. Helpful and friendly staff despite the different language. Within easy reach of Riga centre (approx 10 mins by car/taxi ) and walking distance of a large shopping centre.

We stayed in this hotel with our 6-year old daughter for three nights. First night it was a little noisy cause there was a road under the window. Next day we asked to change our room to the quieter one and the staff did it immediately. Breakfast was real good, big variety of dishes for any taste. It was close to the Volvo Skating Center where our daughter was performing in the Volvo Cup Open and taxi in Riga is real cheap. Old town was just minutes away on taxi. Hotel staff was real nice and helpful, minibar inexpensive.

This was our fourth stay at the hotel and ticks pretty much every box in our requirements.
The rooms are bright, comfortable and well maintained. The hotel is well positioned for good road connections, shopping and Riga town. There are good parking areas near to the hotel and a fuel station near by.
We have always found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Good to see some small improvements made in the self service area for breakfast to try and ease congestion around the food stations, but It could do with a wider gap between the coffee machines and the hot food station.

The young lady who checked me into the hotel is amazing. She had to reverse charges from my friend's credit card who had booked my stay for me and place the charges on my credit card... all done with patience and a pleasant smile.
Breakfast was very good, but my bed was too firm. Bathtub was raised up high from the bathroom floor and a bit awkward to get in and out of.
My stay the previous week was in a deluxe room with a better bed, view, and bathroom/ shower for the same price.
I would book the better room next trip!
