Spent three nights there - a good value hotel with good staff. The breakfasts are good, with a wide variety of food, to suit different tastes. This was particularly commendable given that it is in included in the price, and was better than any other hotel that we stayed in on our holiday in the Baltic States, all of which we paid extra for. The hotel appears to have been converted from a communist area apartment block, but it works fine as a hotel. It is, however, starting to get a bit tired, and while fine for the money, the rooms will soon need refurbishment, for example the vinyl flooring in my room was beginning to peel slightly in a couple of places, and the bathroom was beginning to show its age. A bit out of town, but there is a good bus service to the centre. and the market next door is interesting. was happy with this hotel, which was clean, and good value for money.

Great place with local gems on the doorstep

Although a little out of the town centre the bus links are frequent and cheap. I reccomend that you get the local travel app. 8 euros for unlimited travel for three days.

The hotel is located to an indoor market with an upstairs food hall which is super convenient. If you feel the need to stay away from the centre of Riga this place serves up some great food / beer and wine

First of all, to anyone traveling to Riga, download the bolt app as it is around 5 EUR to get you into the centre and there are bolts everywhere. even get it from the airport and its around 5 EUR!
Secondly, if you book a family room and expect a double bed and 2 single beds as per the photos on expedia of the room, double check with the hotel as they did not do this and, there was 3 of us and it was a double and a single.. not the worst thing in the world but not what we requested and paid extra for. The hotel simply said that expedia dont tell them... so why have it as an option? Just make sure to contact the hotel before hand.

The breakfast was basic, but for the price paid for the hotel it was clean and easy to deal with.

This is a hotel that is definitely in the budget range but it proved to be far superior than some 4 star establishments that I have experienced. The staff were helpful and efficient and the hotel was adequately comfortable and clean.

Convenient and clean

Stayed one night before a flight back to UK from Riga airport. Hotel is handy for airport, only 10 minute taxi ride. Hotel staff very helpful, even printed our boarding passes. Hotel is set back from main road and is quiet. Not a great deal to do in immediate vicinity, although there is a good restaurant very close. And it is not too far from central Riga (old town) if you wanted a longer break.

Nice, big,. clean room with a small TV, with some English programs. Room cleaned and the towels are changed daily. Breakfast is OK, but they constantly ran out of good bread and yogurt, and there is NO VARIETY. For 5 days it was really boring. The bed is the worst feature as it is extremely uncomfortable. Pretty nice area, good fresh food market and good restaurant are around the corner. Many buses going to the center, takes only 10 minutes And A GREAT BIG BATHROOM with both bath tub and a shower

Ok hotelroom for a very ok price. Decor was early 2000's baltic style, so functional but not charming.
Clean room and bathroom, but chilly and unable to set heating.
Not the hotel for a romantic getaway. But for its price a good deal, the right choice to catch an airplane next morning.

Good for the price.

Staff were very helpful and polite,especially when we asked for a kettle to make our cup of tea in the room,it was there immediately. The hotel is a short distance from the city centre,no problem though as public transport is cheap and frequent,even on Christmas day. The hotel only serves breakfast but that is not a problem,there are restaurants and bars nearby providing reasonable priced products. Overall a good value for money hotel.

Lovely clean and modern hotel

Stayed for 5 nights, hotel was lovely, clean, modern. Staff was excellent, couldn't be more helpful. Cleaners cleaned daily, it was spotless. Bathroom was new, only slight gripe being no shelving or space to put toiletries on, but we managed! Breakfast was adequate but the hot food was not very hot, maybe the heating elements in the food tureens should be turned up? Location was very central, close to several bus and tram stops which takes you to the old town, shops and 2 supermarkets nearby as well as the market hall where you can get almost any type of food you want. Walls in hotel was a bit thin but it was quiet when we were staying so no problems. All in all, a very pleasant stay, would stay there again IF I returned to Riga which I doubt, as was not very keen on the place. It was dusty, people were rude, no smiles, too many itinerants, some begging, depressive buildings with graffiti on any available space you can get something on. Can say I've been but will probably not go back.

Wonderful hotel, staff go out of their way to help

Really couldn't ask for more, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and happily agreed to receive an important parcel for me before my stay. The hotel itself was of a very high standard and surprisingly comfortable considering the very reasonable price. The location was a little out of the way but it didn't take long to walk or catch a bus into the centre of Riga. Overall, I would absolutely visit again and would not hesitate to recommend Primo Hotel to anyone visiting Riga.

Great value hotel just out of town!

A high quality bed and breakfast hotel for an exceptionally good price! A great base for visiting Riga and getting an authentic view of the city. Located about 10 mins out of town by bus (very frequent, £1.20 single trip or get one of the very good value 3 or 5 day passes) or tram (less frequent). Large car park outside. Clean and very well presented public areas, massive twin room with beautiful wet room bathroom, good fixtures and fittings, free wifi, flat screen tv etc. Very clean and comfortable.

Breakfast with good range on offer - cereals, some English products, Crioissants, local meats/cheeses/breads/salad, plus porridge and steamed vegetables.

Located in small local neighbourhood which felt perfectly safe though a far cry from the more Westernised city centre street scene, very much a local residential area but with good links, local shops/banks/supermarkets.

Overall a good compromise of hotel rate vs accessibility. Would throughly recommend this hotel for a good value weekend break.

Poor area of town, no restaurant, bad bed.

To stay in a cheap hotel in a poor area is not so bad, but in Riga it makes no sense if such a hotel is on the wrong side of the river from the main city - there are many alternatives, mostly slightly better hotels, and in the same price range on the city side of river.
The rooms are spartan, and bed was a disaster. Very cheap matureness which had already entirely collapsed over the edge of the bed - most uncomfortable.
The breakfast was reasonable, but minimal volumes available on buffet to ensure limited intake!

Away from tourist centre saves on cost

Primo is across the river from the Old Town, which means I didn't pay the high prices of hotels there, but Old Town attractions were within easy access by excellent public transport. Staff were helpful, for instance arranging taxis and once even giving me use of a personal mobile phone.

I booked this hotel because I thought breakfast and airport shuttle were included, and I needed a hotel close to the airport since I was stopping over for the night before continuing back to the US from Russia. Turns out that the amenities include Airport Shuttle - but it is not included in the cost! That's the same as calling my own cab, in my book. The breakfast cost was not included either, but the staff did set it up earlier for us (7:30 instead of the usual time of 8:00am), and the cost was nominal: 2 LVL per person, so I am giving them credit for that. The room was fine: clean and comfortable. Usually, lighting is an issue in some of these lower-cost hotels, and this one was no different: dim lighting. But who wants to spend any amount of time in a hotel room anyway?

In my opinion, hotels in Riga are generally overpriced. I was lucky to find this hotel at such a good price which was located a pleasant 20 min walk away. The room looked just like in the pictures which as you know is not always the case with online hotel photos. The room was extremely clean and I liked the minimalistic, modern look.The receptionist was really polite and helpful.

Leider muss ich meine Rezession kurz fassen und werde nur Stichpunkte aufschreiben.
Personal nicht unfreundlich, aber auch nicht mehr. Auf Grüße wird nicht reagiert.
Housekeeping schreit morgens auf dem Flur lautstark über den Flur und poltert durch die Gegend. Ausschlafen ist nicht. Generell hat man Anteilnahmw am Leben in den Nachbarzimmern und vom Flur.
Zimmer weniger sauber und absolut sanierungsbedürftig. Schwarzer Schimmel im Bad und Handtücher sehr unhygienisch und uralt. Teilweise stanken die Handtücher sehr unangenehm. Bad war nur mit Zusatz-Heizung warm zu bekommen, einer der positiven Punkte. Das Frühstück war für den Preis in Ordnung, hätte man noch ein wenig auf die Hygiene und Lebensmittelumgang geachtet, wäre es besser in der Bewertung gewesen.
Wir fühlten uns wirklich sehr unwohl und waren zum ersten Mal froh gewesen, wieder abreisen zu können. Wirklich traurig, dass man doch immer wieder auf solche sehr gut bewerteten Hotels reinfällt. Man sollte auf die innere Stimme hören und die internationalen Ketten buchen. Urlaube hat man nicht so viele und die lässt man sich ungern versauen.

No se oli tämmönen tällä kertaa

Sähkölaitteet oli turhan äänekkäät avopuolisoni mielestä ja vasta aamulla kun poistimme avainkortin pesästä loppui myös huriseva ääni.
Itse huomasin sängyn vieressä lattialla likatahran jota ei oltu puhdistettu.
Itseäni häiritsi sängyn pituus joka oli 190 cm kun jalkani roikkuivat sängyn ulkopuolella.
Muuten huone oli hiljainen ja hintaa nähden ihan ok.

Очень достойный отель.

Отличный завтрак, очень хорошего убираются, ни пылинки, полотенца меняли каждый день. Ещё бы стены отмыть-было бы выше всяких похвал. Персонал доброжелательный. Кровати удобные:) С парковкой один день из четырёх было сложновато, остальные дни-без проблем. На машине до центра 10 минут, остановок рядом много. Магазин через дорогу. Единственное, рядом рынок, что не всем нравиться, а так все огонь. Отличный отель за свои деньги.

Jeg kom sent, og sjekket ut tidlig. Men helt ok hotellrom, som var en befrielse å finne her i Riga. Fin resepsjon, om enn noe treg til å klare å få folk sjekket inn. Rommene var helt vanlig hotellstandard og sengene gode. Frokosten var et helt greit og variert utvalg av varme og kalde retter. Rent og pent hotell, om enn noe støy fra gaten utenfor som er A2 (eller var det A10) som er hovedvei gjennom Riga. Bråker nok til at man ikke gidder å ha noen vinduer åpne i allefall. Minibar og god internetttilkobling.

I can’t actually rate this hotel, because by arrival we were told that there is some problem and we have to go to another hotel. They arranged it, prepaid for us and we paid to hotel Primo. Then we found that the other hotel is cheaper than the original, hotel itself was ok, but unbelievably small room for three, was actually full of beds.

Fine rom, men dårlig isolering og liten seng

Hotellet ligger noen kilometer utenfor sentrum, og med unntak av en stor matbutikk og noen restauranter så er det ikke så mye i område rundt hotellet. Men det er greit nok å komme seg til sentrum enten via buss/trikk eller om man tar seg en gåtur. Fra hotellet til gamlebyen så tar det 25-40 min å gå, avhengig av hvor fort man går.
Hotellet ser kanskje litt så som så ut fra utsiden, men når man kommer inn og inn på rommet så er det veldig fint. Rommet jeg hadde var fint og moderne med et stort og fint vindu og et bra bad. WIFI var også bra, målte det til 25 mbps.
Det er derimot noe som drar litt ned når det kommer til inntrykket av rommet. Sengen på mitt rom (seng for 1) var liten. Jeg er 187 cm og hodet og føttene var nesten borti veggen i begge ender. Hvis man er over 190 cm ville du ikke passet i sengen.

Det er ingen aircondition eller vifte, så for noen kan det bli varmt der på sommeren. Jeg var der selv når det var over 30 grader på dagen, men for meg gikk det greit om natta selv om det var litt varmt.
En annen ting som trekker ned er at veggene er veldig tynne. Man hører naboen godt.. Fikk selv oppleve at noen ble litt irritert, til tross for at jeg knapt laget en lyd. En gang begynte min pc og spille et klipp og lyden var på, jeg var rask med å slå den av når jeg merket det, men allerede før jeg fikk gjort det ble det banket i veggen av naboen.Det var eneste lyden jeg lagde mens jeg var der, mens naboene selv kunne høres mer tidligere på kveldene.

Prima hotel met basic maar nette kamers. Op 1 min lopen van het OV. Binnen 10 minuten in de oude stad met de bus of tram. Supermarkt voor de deur. Ontbijt basic maar prima. Wel elke dag hetzelfde. Prima verblijf voor een paar dagen in Riga!

Good hotel for a family stay in Riga. We arrived by car en liked the free parking in front of the hotel. Checkin was fine. A public transport stop with frequent trams/busses to the city center (~10 min trip) is just around the corner, so visiting Riga center is easy.
We also enjoyed the included breakfast!

Eine gute Empfehlung

Das Hotel liegt auf der westlichen Daugava-Seite, unmittelbaran dem derzeit angesagtem Āgenskalna-Platz. Die gediegene Wohngegend mit Restaurants, Geschäften und sogar einer Markthalle ist aber sehr ruhig und per Bus und Bahn ist die Innenstadt schnell erreichbar (ca. 2,5 km).
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, kompetent und sehr hilfsbereit und spricht fließend Englisch, so dass eine Konversation problemlos möglich ist.
Die Zimmer und seine Ausstattung ist scheinen renoviert neu. Das Bad war in einem neuwertigen Zustand und mehr als großzügig bemessen. Handtücher waren ausreichend vorhanden.
Die Betten waren sehr bequem.
Free-WiFi steht kostenlos zur Verfügung und ist leistungstechnisch ausreichend. Bei dem Fahrstuhl kommt es zu Engpässen, da nur eine Kabine für alle Stockwerke zur Verfügung steht.
Das Treppenhaus ist bequem zu begehen.
Das Interieur des Frühstücksraums ist mit unaufdringlichem Holz ausgestattet und platztechnisch ausreichend bemessen und die Auswahl am Frühstücksbüffet war sehr variantenreich und lecker.
Grosser Privatparkplatz Gratis.

Zimmer OK. Kein Teppiche sondern Holz/Laminatboden (passt mir besser). Grosse Privatparkplatz Gratis. Frühstück ganz OK, aber serviert ein bisschen zu spät für mein Geschmack (vom 8 Uhr, vielleicht wegen Wochenende). WLAN OK.

Zeer schoon elke dag nieuwe handdoeken indien gewenst,heerlijk bed ,ruime kamer, badkamer met bad.tegenover hotel is grote supermarkt,daar ontbijt gehaald,we hebben eerste dag ontbijt hotel op maar voor prijs kwaliteit vonden wij het te duur.bushaltes om de hoek.we hebben auto gehuurd en konden deze parkeren bij het hotel.

Hotelli oli oikein viihtyisä ja henkilökunta ystävällistä. Sijaintikin oli ihan ok suhteessa vanhaan kaupunkiin n. 3km. Taksilla vanhaan kaupunkiin pääsi 6 eurolla. Bussi pysäkki on myös ihan vieressä. Alue ei ole se kaikkein kaunein, mutta meitä se ei niin haitannut. Miinusta tulee ilmastoinnin puuttumisesta, tämä korostui meidän kohdalla koska olimme helle aikaan reissussa. Aamupala olisi saanut olla hieman kattavampi. Mehut ja leikkeleet eivät olleen kylmäkoneessa/kylmätasolla vaan ihan huoneenlämmössä kannussa/lautasella pöydällä, siinä olisi parannettavaa ihan hygienia mielessäkin.

Karu hotelli, syrjässä ja kallis.

Karu hotelli, syrjässä ja huoneet kuumat kuin sauna, ei siis ilmastointia.
Jouduimme odottamaan yli tunnin kun olimme lähdössä hotellista, jotta saimme auton pois hotellin parkista kun autot pihalla ajettu miten sattuu toisten autojen perään ja henkilökunnalla ei mitään käsitystä kenen autot muka olivat. Henkilökunta levitteli vain käsiään ja evät tehneet mitään asian ratkaisemiseksi. En voi suositella kyseistä hotellia, samalla rahalla saa paljon parempia. Aamupala oli myös todella suppea ja heikko.

Perushyvä hotelli

Siisti, rauhallinen ja hintaansa nähden erittäin hyvä hotelli, mutta aamiaisella olisi voinut olla hieman enemmän valikoimaa. Sijainti on sopivan etäällä vilkkaimmasta keskustasta, jonne pääsee helposti bussilla. Lähellä sijaitsevassa Grill Gardenissa oli maukkaat ruoat ja todella hyvä palvelu. Myös n. kilometrin päässä oleva Street Burgers -ravintola oli mainio ja sekin kävelymatkan päässä hotellista.
