I understand building is old but certainly something can be done about creaking floors. The sound of footsteps can disturb one’s sleep on uncarpeted floor…much as we love the hardwood flooring. Water from shower would spray out cand would even run on to the bedroom’s wooden floor. Towels do not completely dry when hung on hooks. Toilet paper wouldn’t stay on holder when pulled.

It was our first stay at this hotel and we were very impressed. It’s in a good central area with lots to do nearby. Great staff- friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Lovely bar and restaurant and interesting features including a billiards room and nice seating areas. The breakfast is served in the restaurant and is à la carte rather than buffet which is really nice. Will definitely stay here again.

Lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Mayfair, bar and lounge areas are lovely. The room we had was spacious very clean and had a separate work area. The staff are great particularly the restaurant manager who was amazingly friendly and attentive. The only small criticism would be the breakfast area at peak times isn’t big enough so expect a 10 minute wait or book a table for a specific time. Other than that it’s really a great property and doesn’t feel like a chain hotel at all.

Room was fine but plastic desk chair was very difficult to maneuver. The hotel tries to be clever with lighting, but a black walled bathroom was impossible. The law in London is that hair dryers cannot be operated in bathrooms, but the hotel makes no provision for convenient mirrors or outlets in the bedroom. Same goes for easy charging. We all have multiple devices these days and charging is a critical part of hotel rooms. I would not stay here again, even though the staff was very nice and responsive.

Hotel is in a beautiful area and is a lovely hotel. The sound proofing in the room was very poor though which affected our night sleep. We wouldn’t bother with the breakfast again. The service felt chaotic and it would take ages to get served drinks, food orders were wrong and we had to ask three times to get a glass of juice for one person in our party. We’d rather have just for it our self but they insist on serving it.

They did make a massive effort for my daughter’s birthday though, particularly Tyler.

The staff was fantastic—helpful and friendly. The common areas downstairs were lovely. However, the room's condition was disappointing. The floors and the lower part of the walls had many scuff marks. Overall, the condition of the room was not what was expected for the high price of our stay. It could use a refresher in its condition and decor.

The hotel is lovely especially the lounging areas and restaurant. The check-in person did not offer an upgrade. I asked about it since the Expedia info said to. She implied they were full which they certainly were not base on the Expedia website that showed many rooms were available. Then she said someone higher up from her needed to approve. By then I wished I hadn’t mentioned it. Anyways she did upgrade the room eventually, but it’s not the same after all that. I share this feedback to be helpful as you should either upgrade people cheerfully or not at all.

Before arriving asked for an early check in at 12 midday which was approved. Did not receive the room until 3:10pm with no answer as to why. We were very upset about this as we had a long travel day. The hotel menu felt as if it needed a new alternative. Loaded with unusual dishes which did not take our fancy. Manage my could have went more above to provide apologies for this. Room was lovely once we received this. Lively bathroom and beds were ok. Bit on the hard side
Would also like to highlight the incident in the bar on night one. Management are aware and had everything sorted and apologies sent to us
All in all the hotel was fine. Good location for tube but could have done more in terms of communication and better front of house service

My stay at Holmes Hotel was the best place I’ve stayed in for this 2 week holiday (out of 6 hotels/B&Bs). There wasn’t any particular staff member that stood out because all were consistent in providing good service, from check in, housekeeping, front desk, in room dining & Kitchen@Holmes.

I would like to commend the hotel on the WhatsApp feature that made any potential difficulties/issues I had resolved in a speedy manner. There were 2 nights that I tried multiple times to call the restaurant downstairs to order dinner but no one answered. I then sent a message to your staff via WhatsApp which then quickly resulted in the restaurant contacting me within minutes.

There was also a time where I was out shopping but I had forgotten to ask housekeeping to replenish my bathroom amenities and so all I sent a message which was quickly relayed to housekeeping. When I came back shortly after, I had fresh towels and the housekeeping staff also kindly help to replenish the Nescafe coffee pods and mineral waters even without me asking.

I will certainly be choosing Holmes Hotel for my next London trip!

Been a group of old houses all together this hotel results strange because it has short stairs in the middle of the hallway. But the hotel is very nice and cozy. We had a small problem with the shower but I guess it is not a common problems for all the rooms

Decent hotel, but very noisy for my taste.

Hotel is decent, but I lacked a lot of things in there and it's very noisy, I've stayed on the 2nd floor of the hotel and I could hear every single step above me and those steps sounded very loud and were pretty disruptive. Rooms were nice, but also really weird shape. One good thing is the location, you are close to quite a few restaurants and shops as well as Tube station.

Really great hotel. Nicely decorated and warm atmosphere in both the rooms and public areas. Our bathroom door was making a godawful screeching sound every time we opened it but we didn’t say anything because how can staff not know about it, they were cleaning every day. Luckily that was the only real sore spot of our stay. Large studio room. Ample counter space in the bathroom. Very nice breakfast available, the options were limited but we just wanted some fuel for the day. The staff were very nice. Free candy at reception. Would 100% stay here again.

From the hotel there is a five minute walk to the underground. You can also walk to the many shops on the high street. Staff are readily available to assist you in the hotel. Location is the best aspect of the hotel. It is easy to walk around, with tons of bars, restaurants and shoppings and a subway station a block away.

The hotel restaurant is very good, with high quality ingredients. Excellent breakfast package. In room dining is not very good, as options as severely reduced after 9:15PM.

A negative point is the bathroom. It was too small, with no place to handle the towels, except by two handles right above the toilet (not hygienic and risk of dropping the towels into the toilet). Also, the bathing area was too open, so the bathroom ended up soaked after each bath.

Another negative was the mattress. It was too old and soft.

All in all, it was a good to very good option considering the price and the location.

We had a lot of issues with the hotel. It was one thing after another. Almost comical if I weren’t spending 400gbp a night. For families, the pull out sofa was terrible.
Thermostat wouldn’t work so room was so hot. Lots of people complaining. They said there was nothing to be done, but why do they have thermostats in the room if they don’t work or do anything??!! Fridge was broken and the maintenece leaves at 5 so come home after a long day of sightseeing with food and you can’t get in the fridge without calling the desk. Lots of little annoying things that made for a crummy stay

The property was my most favourite to date to stay in London. Being in Marylebone was a perfect area, along with the shopping, dining and being nearby a tube when you take the tube. The Holmes hotel was cute and the location was perfect. The room for a family of 4 was very spacious. The rooms are in townhouses so the heat/air conditioning is centrally controlled by the hotel. I did not find this out until much later. Our room was 80 degrees Fahrenheit almost our whole stay with the staff telling us to try turning the air on low and turning it on and off. Even with two fans and the windows open it did not cool down enough. If the room had not been hot the actual hotel and location is great. I do not recommend breakfast if you are coming from the US as it ends early and there are many great options right by the hotel.

I accept that Air Conditioning is rare in the UK, but all I wanted to do was shut off the heating and let the room cool to a more comfortable temperature.
