The Dorset Hotel was beautifully styled and staff were so friendly and helpful. Good location. The only issue was the size of the rooms. I’d definitely upgrade. Unfortunately I think the hotel may have a damp problem as the rooms did have a musty smell. Maybe in the summer it will be better.

It was “optional” but was nearly $50 US for 2 nights and we were not warned, so had already tipped for various services. When paying this price for a room, such fees should be included.

First time staying and absolutely loved it! This hotel will now be my home away from home when I visit London again. I loved the vibe and how quiet it was. Also smelled really good! Staff were all absolutely lovely, and the location was perfect, close to the Marylebone and Baker Street stations, lots of taxis and easy for Ubers to get to. Will definitely be back!

Stayed at the Dorset Square in August for my wife’s birthday and again in September for an event at Wembley, (couple of minutes from Marylebone station which is 9 minutes to Wembley Stadium). Staff are fantastic, very warm and welcoming. Rooms are beautifully decorated and well maintained, as are all the other Firmdales we have stayed at. Lots of choice at breakfast and lunch - would recommend the cheeseburger.

Tried to deduct a ‘service charge’ from my deposit as I was checking out. Only when I queried it (twice) was I informed that the charge was, in fact, discretionary. Not sure if this is normal in London now but I felt it was disappointing.

Aaron was a delight and offered great recommendations! Decor is unbeatably charming, and staff is friendly. Rooms were pristine, comfortable with thoughtful touches (pillow mists, personalized welcome notes etc…). True to boutique hotels in big cities, the room was tight, would just be conscientious of checking approx size when you book room type if that is important to you. Marylebone Village is approx an 8 minute walk, with subways within 2-5 mins. Overall lovely stay and look forward to visiting again.

My only issue with this property was being put in a Room in the basement. It was quite musty smelling and the trains were very noisy. This is the second firmdale hotel in London where I have been given a room in the basement (Knightsbridge Hotel last year) and the last. I will not accept a basement room again

So amazingly clean throughout, and in a great part of the city, 3 mins walk from Baker St tube station and 3 mins walk to London Business School. Food and service in the restaurant for dinner also really good. I will definitely be staying again and highly recommend.

You need an additional desk in the Drawing Room. One person took it over and I couldn’t get near. I had to attend a Zoom meeting with my laptop on my lap.

What an absolute treasure this property is! This was my first stay at a boutique hotel and was more than impressed by what it delivered. Very comfortable room (great bed!) with nice touches in the bathroom (heated towel rack and flooring). I also appreciated the nightly turn-down service and bottle of water placed on the nightstand. The Potter's Shed restaurant was another delightful experience! Delicious food, beautifully presented and served by very attentive and personable staff that made you feel like family. I was able to widely sample the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the course of my 6-night stay and was never disappointed. The setting of the property across from a park and it's close proximity to two tube/rail stations (Baker Street and Marylebone) just added to it's strong appeal. The front desk staff were warm, welcoming and extremely helpful from the moment I set foot in the foyer. A complete winner!

Being that this was our second visit and we opted for a larger room I would have thought the shower would have been larger.It was just large enough to turn around in and if you are claustrophobic forget it.

Although the hotel was booked and paid for under my name, after providing the hotel with my partners name on arrival as a courtesy, we received a printed letter from housekeeping after returning from dinner that was addressed to my partner specifically (consciously omitting my name), letting him know that they missed us and were unable to clean the room— keeping in mind that before they knew I had a male guest with me, the letters were all addressed to me (female). I spoke to the front desk courteously about this issue and let them know I was disappointed, however as I was explaining why this kind of behaviour was upsetting, the lady at the front desk seemed amused by the whole situation. It’s 2019, my partner does not speak for me. Please get with the times.

This is probably the fourth time we have stayed here. Luckily our room was upgraded to 206 and what a lovely room that was. Spacious. Creative decor but calming too. We really like this place and will stay again soon.

The only negative point was that we found the breakfast room to be very cramped - hardly enough room to get between the tables!

The Dorset Square was absolutely lovely. The property is well located, and the service was fantastic. We enjoyed breakfast there daily, and also enjoyed the self service bar in the lounge area every evening. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Booked deluxe room 2 months ahead of travel and had to stay in ground level room with no daylight since room was facing shaft and window was disguised with Bermuda shutters shut and pull down shade on top closed. There are also rooms in the basement on the restaurant level. First floor rooms and up have huge windows. Misinformed hotel staff charged my credit card claiming there was no advance payment. It was corrected in few days later. The room was tiny, no luggage rack, but pretty, and the bath room was the best with lots of space.

The Dorset Square Hotel is perfectly located--just off Marylebone on a small, quiet square with a private park, near the Baker St. tube stop so central London is easily reached, and five minutes walk from Regent's Park. I had a standard room, which is fine for one person but would be tight for two. It's an older hotel but recently refurbished, so the amenities were top-rate. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. This will be my new go-to hotel in London--quiet, high standard, accessible to a range of sights, and also close to many restaurants.
However one important caveat--while perfect for me, this hotel wouldn't be suitable for anyone who can't manage stairs, since there is no elevator!

An intimate gem near Regent’s Park
We loved the Dorset Square Hotel. Kit Kemp designed this restored Regency townhouse with attention to every possible detail, from every aspect of decor, the guest lounge with honest bar, the amenities in the room, the restaurant menu, excellent food and high tea to the fragrance available to spray on your pillow at night. Our room was comfortable, impeccably decorated and had a view of Dorset Square park. Turndown every night included a fresh glass and bottle of water. The hotel is very close to Regent’s Park, which is beautiful. The staff coudn’t be more friendly, professional and efficient. I communicated for weeks via email with the concierge, who recommended excellent exhibitions to book in advance, suggested and then reserved restaurants close to each of our shows. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will definitely be back.

I really love this little hotel. Its in a great area (Marylebone) and a stones throw from Baker St. and Marylebone tube stations. If you are a traveling single and want a little bit of luxury with stunning decor, then this is a perfect spot. The only thing that makes me hesitate from giving it a PERFECT rating is the size of the bathrooms. In this particular room (402) the shower was very very TINY. The water pressure is great, the bath products are great, overall VERY clean but the showers are like the size of....me. You can barely turn. And FORGET about any type of shaving. But all in al, really love this little spot. And the staff is just wonderful.
