The property advertised parking and EV charging which is why it was chosen- it had neither. There was no ability to pay by card, so a bank transfer was required.

The staff were helpful and the room was clean.

Ok but not really suitable for business travel

Room was ok, bathroom smelt a little damp but was functional. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Heating was on all night a d couldn't find a way to control it. Biggest problem was payment was only cash or BACS payment, and with no one on reception there was no receipt. Makes it unsuitable for business travellers like me.

The only real disappointment was that the hotel is advertised as having parking however upon arrival we were advised that there is no parking. This needs updating as a matter of urgency as I then had to find a car park and spend an additional £50 on parking.

No hot water all weekend and it was a cold weekend confirmation says bed and breakfast, they don’t even serve breakfast!!
We left a teddy bear there which was very sentimental and no one answers the phone, so I’m guessing that’s lost forever !

No parking although it stated parking was available. No breakfast or restaurant facility but nearby fast food available

overall ok but not great

Asked for beds to be changed and they didn't get changed on the first day only had 1 toilet roll which ran out so we had to buy our own as reception was closed. Not what the pictures that I booked against. The breakfast was mostly cold as the food was out in warmers which either weren't on or not working. No Bacon (you gotta have bacon). Limited service after hours. The overall stay was ok but owners need to stop cutting corners its unlikely I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the future.

Stay away!!!

We arrived at the hotel early, check in was at 2pm. We asked if we could leave our bags and was told there was a cupboard in the basement, it had no lock!!! We were then told reception closed at 6 so had to go into the city to come back to get the key card to go back out again!! How does a reception close at 6pm!!! Room was clean but in major need of an upgrade, holes in wall where something had been removed, curtain tie backs hanging off the wall. There was a ridiculous amount of timescale in the shower, shower was freezing! Breakfast was a joke. Kitchen was open for all to see, staff too busy having conversations with each other to care that food trays were empty. No bacon, sausage. Room reaked of cooking, strange pizza on offer! Diabolical!! Massively overpriced, would definitely not stay again.

Need to Know before you stay here!!

Was not told that we needed Photo ID at check in and even though I paid in advance said that I would not be staying here without it. Luckily I had a copy of my driving licence with me. Jobworth on reception. Rooms were OK, cleanish... on a positive note, location great and ideal for where we were staying. Need of a paint

Good stay, comfortable warm room. Excellent breakfast with freshly cooked scrambled eggs.
Lift is very small. Only holds 2 thin people! Had an issue when the toilet seat broke. Could have been nasty and been cut!
Well positioned hotel for local restaurants and transport links.

Didn’t expect much for that price but dodgy wiring, several things not working, and stained sheets not at all good.
On the bright side it is handy for Regents Park, quiet and there were plenty of restaurants within 5 mins walk.

Service & staffing a problem...

TV remote didn't work well & no action taken by staff. despite prior arrangement, returned from side trip with entry card not working - fellow traveler let me in & I had to sleep in the lobby w/o security, no access to shower, no ability to get out to eat, stress & fear, etc. No compensation offered when I wrote letter of complaint. Staff scheduled from 8am but never there until 9am++. Nite service phone busy for over 40 min of trying on night of no-entry, so rec'd no help.

Hotel generally of a good standard for a budget hotel. Staff friendly and breakfast adequate. Room was reasonably clean and bed (although a single) was fine. Short walk from Baker Street and Oxford Street.

We arrived on 18 December for 2 nights, and was given a basement room which smelt of damp, self catering facilities with no kettle. The double bed where to single beds push together, shower doors where hanging off not closing properly, on the morning catering staff where sat around on the phone’s at breakfast time..
I’m pretty easy going but wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Well kept small hotel in relatively quiet location within easy walking distance of Oxford Street and Marylebone Station. Room fairly small but perfectly acceptable for our one night stay. Wide choice of basic hot and cold foods for breakfast.

Good little hotel

For a London hotel, where single rooms tend to be a cupboard, the room i had was fine, not cramped at all. Nice coffee and a bottle of water is always welcome. Quite warm, but an open window solved that. Very quiet area and hotel. Included breakfast was basic but well presented and started at 0730 on a Sunday which is very convenient. Lots of place to eat a stones throw away and a short walk to Baker street tube and Marylebone

The shower was terrible but the staff were quick to fix the drainage problem. Unfortunately that was not the only issue because the shower had zero pressure. Barely enough to rinse the shampoo out.

Comfortable hotel in central London

82 is a very clean 3 star hotel in central London near Baker Street situated on Gloucester Place The lift is very small and some may find it claustrophobic, and its slow, but at least it works.
The room itself was comfortable. Breakfast was okay, there wasn't a huge choice and the
food was warm not hot. But there was a selection of toast, cereals and fruit and the coffee was actually good. Hotel staff were very friendly.

Hotels.com booked 6 person family in 2 rooms with 4 beds. We ended up fighting with the hotel who said it was the website's fault. We had to sleep three in a double bed for two nights, change rooms 3 times, and finally get 2 stowaway beds which made the room incredibly cramped. When contacting Hotels.com, we got the same reply that it was the hotels fault. Hotels.com gave us a 100$ voucher. WOW. Thanks....Very unhappy, and will never use this site again......

The hotel clerks were overall very accommodating, but we still paid full price for 2 rooms for 6 people and 2 beds.

Hotel 82 is very well located near the Marylebone Subway Station and multiple bus lines. It is small (20 rooms or so), has small but adequate rooms, has a small elevator, and is part of a group of hotels managed by the same management company. A nice full breakfast is included in the price. No frills, but the rooms have everything you need. WiFi is included and is password protected.

Hidden Gem - book if you can get it!

Lovely little hotel in great location. Clean & comfy. Shower could use some work. Quiet (we were at back). Someone at desk 24 Hrs which made us feel very safe. Buffet Breakfast was best part. It was awesome with great ladies tending to every need. (They do need another toaster as always a lineup but easy fix). Would definitely stay again. About 4 blocks from Baker St Metro stn. Walked to Buckingham, Picadilly, shopping on Oxford St. Price was very good.

Hotel is fair in terms of homeliness and serive. Had to change room at first as on the front can be a bit noisey. Changed to a basement room which was quieter and a good size. hotel staff were very accommodating to do this. Breakfast was fair and good to be included in the price. good location.

Room was tiny, as was the lift.
Windowsill was rotting. Shower was old.
Wall mounted TV jutted out into the room which already had no space.
Wallpaper was ripped and headboards were barely attached to bed.
Staff though were pleasant and efficient enough

Good location with Hyde Park nearby and Baker St station. Elevator is extremely small so take stairs if possible. When we checked into the room, there were several issues in the room. The curtain holder was ripped out of the wall, the sink was clogged, the heated towel rack didn't work, and the bathroom was mildly dirty. The hotel staff were quick to address these issues and overall pleasant during our stay. Would stay again but certainly nicer hotels exist. Free breakfast wasn't bad!

Much worse than expected

We booked this hotel for a second time within a year as we had a doctor's appointment at Harley street and the hotel is very conveniently located. But our second experience was not as good as the first one. The room was not ready even at 2pm. that is check-in time, although, ironically, the receptionist made sure to communicate to us all regulations with regards to penalty for late check-out. When the room was finally ready, it was evident that it was cleaned in a rush. In general, it felt as if the room was abandoned, as the toilet seat was broken and not replaced, most of the light switches did not work, there was no remote control for the TV nor kettle. Also, the folding bed where the third person slept was very uncomfortable.

On a positive side, the breakfast was freshly prepared and pretty decent.

On the whole a good experience. Rooms are small but clean. The staff was pleasant.

Complaints: The only meat in their \"complimentary English breakfast\" was bologna cold cuts. The full-body showers had no water pressure so the water barely makes it to your body. When the TV remote control battery died, their only solution was to \"do without.\" The towel heater did not work. There was no side mirror in the bathroom. Or wash clothes.

My partners birthday night away

Great hotel, nice friendly staff, very clean. Spacious room with a comfy bed. Breakfast was decent. Brilliant location. We went to see the lion king and it was only 2 miles away. Taxis are the only downside because a 2 mile taxi journey cost £21. But that weren't the hotels fault. Would stay again.

This place was awesome! The best value hotel I have ever found in London. I stayed here a couple times in summer 2012 when I first moved to London. I ended up moving directly behind this hotel in Montagu Mansions, that's how much I love the location. This is a very late review, and unfortunately I think they closed either temporarily or permanently. Either way, I I know I miss this as an option when looking for accommodations.

A little disappointing

Overall I was disappointed with this hotel. It does not appear to be 4 Star and was very unsuitable when staying with a baby - several steps, including several leading to our room; a lift that you cannot fit a pushchair, yourself and your baby in, no high chair...
The staff need to be more proactive to offer assistance and pay better attention to basic details: broken travel cot, light switches not working....

Location Ok, but everything else was poor.

Be VERY wary of their booking policy and on-line system. We booked for wrong day- tried to change it 24 hours later- 3 weeks in advance still- to arrive and depart 24 hours earlier. \"NO changes allowed.\" emails, requests to management- all ignored.

The clerks and breakfast room attendant all had a hard time with English.
The A./C system was unmarked and didn't work. took a visit from clerk.
Electrical outlet not working- took 3 hours to reset circuit breaker.
Bedside lamp never did work.
No shampoo in bath.
Leaky/drafty, and noisy window with broken wood trim.
Promised me an in-room tabl;e and 2 chairs for meeting- but no space in room was more than 24 inches wide.
They offered space in lounge- but there was no outlet for laptop there. Nor a table. just a bench along the wall.

It's no Hilton, but it works.

The location is great, about a 10 min walk from Oxford street. However we did have a lot of problems with this hotel, none of our outlets worked in our room, the elevator could fit 2 people MAX I would not feel comfortable in it with anyone other than my husband as we were touching no matter how we stood, and they say free wifi but it doesn't work in the rooms, only in the lobby so we had to Skype our kids with other people around. The man at the from desk was very kind and very helpful though, we had great service! And the breakfast is pretty good and they are all over making your meal enjoyable, so all staff is great. But they need to work on the technology part of the hotel, I told my husband I felt like a menonite staying there as I could never do my hair without my straightener and it was hard to charge our electronics. But overall it wasn't the worst, all we did was sleep there anyways, otherwise we were out enjoying London!

Good location, questionable service

A friend and I stayed for two nights, and all in all the hotel was alright. The location was perfect and our room was charming, but there were a couple of downsides. The bathroom was constantly hot, the shower didn't work very well (a big problem when paired up with long days of running around London), and the toilet paper holder seemed to have been removed (why? And why had it not been replaced?). The breakfast room in the basement was tiny, the food was limited and definitely not fresh, and it was dreadfully awkward shuffling about with the other guests (there weren't very many tables and nobody seemed to feel comfortable talking or generally behaving normally). When we checked out, we left our bags in the luggage storage facility, which turned out to be a small cupboard which any of the other guests could access and didn't feel particularly safe (it was also difficult to fit a small suitcase and a weekend bag in there, surely that shouldn't be a problem?). Lastly, I can't recommend ordering a cab from reception, I'm not convinced the one that we got (which was obviously one they'd used before) was completely legitimate (no meter, no cab number to be seen, slightly dubious all around). However, it's fine for a short stay and as I mentioned the location is gorgeous, couldn't ask for a nicer place for a hotel within walking distance of central London, right next to Regent's Park, Baker Street and reasonably close to Hyde Park and Oxford Circus as well.

this is not a four start hotel, should be 2 or 3 start hotel. They gave me the room in basement.

The hotel staff does not help you keep the luggage, they give the locker password to every hotel guess, you store your luggage in the locker, it is very uncomfortable to put your own luggage inside and everybody able to access.

Was very disappointed with my single room. I do feel when booking a single room you should at least be advised if there will be no functioning window. My room had a small single bed, a blocked window so no natural light. Several of the light bubls were not working so very dark. The single bed was narrow with only one pillow. The hotel was fully booked so nothing could be done.

Good Budget Hotel at Budget Price

Hotel in great location, clean and tidy rooms.. Only downside is that even-though there is secondary glazing in the rooms it does not block out the road traffic noise.. So if you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the street if possible.

Only complaint was the tea served at breakfast. We were served hot water in a teacup with a tea bag on the side - that is not how tea is made. Boiling water needs to be poured onto a tea bag, not a tea bag dipped into hot water. Tea should be served in a teapot in English hotels!

Staying in a building site.

This place would have been OK (but no more than OK) if you left your room by 8:30am and returned after 5:30pm. Between those times I was treated to a jackhammer about 15ft from my window (the operator did take an hour for lunch each day). The development in question (at the rear of the hotel) is a long way from being finished so I would not stay at this hotel anytime soon. Beyond that, if hotel 82 is a four star hotel then I hope I never have to stay in a three star one.

Don't believe everything you read, from some of the reviews you'd think the hotel was straight from 'Ripper's Britain, whereas the experience was altogether pleasant. Staff were friendly, room was clean and well presented, shower was lovely and you are minutes away from the heart of the West End. The bed was a little soft for those who are beginning to creak and if you take a studio, put something against the door overnight to prevent draught-rattle of the lock.

The room was sufficient for us for the one night that we stayed, it was clean and quiet and the bed was very comfortable and we had everything that we required in it including a fridge to keep our drinks in, for what we paid it was good value and near to local restaurants and pubs and the underground station. the staff that we saw were friendly and helpful. My one suggestion would be to provide some background music in the \"breakfast room \". it is so quiet in there you could hear a pin drop !! and everyone got the giggles while trying to eat their cornflakes !!

By no means a 4-star hotel. Not by any stretch of the imaginaition. Very, very small. Tiny rooms. Might be OK for tourists on tight budget with low expectations. Totally unsuitable for the business traveler. tiny room, air conditioning did not work and therefore had to keep windows open to the very noisy room below. Shower door would not close--it was permanently mounted in such a manner that it could not close so very wet and messy.

Bed was old, worn, way too soft and disgustingly stained. I left after one sleepless night and found another hotel for the remainder of my 5 night stay in London.

It is not 4 stars, but located in the Centre of London. Travelling from Luton by Green Line bus, you should get off the bus on Baker Street bus stop and go walk to the hotel. There is not so far.

Great bang for your buck

I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel 82. It's got a great location, and a great price. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is nice too. I'd definitely book this hotel again if I needed a cheaper place to stay in central London. My only complaints are that the internet was a bit slow and you could not check in until 2pm (and thus I had to store my luggage in their closet which seemed a bit insecure). But overall, I was extremely pleased with my stay.

A bit disappointed

We arrived early due to the flight and had no expectation of the room being ready, all we wanted to do was drop off the bags. Unfortunately reception was cold, unwelcoming and unresponsive to our attempts at polite conversation. We got the impression that the hotel is currently geared to the budget traveller and as such it is perhaps not considered necessary to put the effort into communication with the guest as it will always be busy. It is a nice hotel though - but it does feel a little claustrophobic in the reception area and passageways but it was a lovely surprise to turn the key and see that our three bed room was very spacious, sparkling clean and modern, and considering that it was sort of in the basement, very light and airy too. Breakfast was pretty basic and also claustrophobic - it took a lot of care and attention to work around the other guests and tightly packed tables without dropping or spilling anything. Prices seem to have gone up in London already pre-Olympic -- I think we will choose elsewhere next trip no matter what.

good, for the price

For the price, this hotel was fine. Bed was comfortable, pillows not so much, location was excellent. Lift was extremely small, could just about fit one person with luggage.

The hotel was very clean, decent. Great location. Staff were pleasant, good service. I'd rate it 9 out of 10. I would certainly stay there again.

Hotel 82 - Gloucester Place, London

Was surprised once I arrived that a 4* rating had been awarded to this hotel.

Everything was clean, but pretty small - even by central London standards. The lift just about squeezed my wife and I in, without luggage. Very claustrophobic.

The room again was fairly small, but for a one night stay bearable. Room and bathroom were clean and well presented, however when I tried to close the curtains the rail fell on top of me! Had to fix this myself. The bad wasn't very comfortable - mattress too soft, so didn't get a great night's sleep either.

Breakfast was reasonable fare - continental (i.e. no cooked breakfast), which was a bit disappointing.

Not an unpleasant stay, and I got a good price. Location wise - it's ideal. Other than that however The standard of the hotel itself wasn't up to a 4* rating.

As I say - not bad or not unpleasant, and fine for a single night. But certainly not (in my opinion) a 4* hotel.

Room bright, light and airy. Bed comfortable, Bathroom good. Hot water superb. Shower pressure pathetic. Room clean. Continental breakfast fine. Need to be more conscientious about sorting out minor maintenance issues.

I stayed in a single room - as a base for the night in a central location around 500 metres from Baker Street tube station, it was cheap by London standards but not so cheerful. There was no window, so waking up at 10am in total darkness meant it felt claustrophobic and this room was not somewhere you'd want to spend too much time in. The bedroom was small and the bathroom smelled strongly of bleach. I don't want to be one of those nitpicking reviewers who gets outraged by a speck of dust on the windowsill, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

You get what you pay for

The hotel is nicely located on what feels like a London neighborhood street. However, I was not terribly impressed with the surcharge for using a credit card ( not unusual in Europe, but it would have been nice to know it before booking - I would have changed my mind.) . Our room was large with big windows. However, the hotel must be going through some sort of phased renovation - marble bathrooms and the heaviest doors I've ever seen. However, the shower partition is at best a challenge the get around and a safety hazard at worst. The bed linens were clean, but the duvet had stains of unknown origin and the rooms were old and plain. Breakfast was a continental affair and it was a bit of disappointment - juice and a coffee with a smattering of jam and or cheese/meat with a bun. I wasn't expecting a banquet, but it could of been better attended.

Just the location

Other than the good location, it is hard to understand the rates this hotel charges for dirty locations (the windows probably had been cleaned ages ago last time, spots on the dresser, dirty extra covers, etc.). Would not recommend it!

Il n’y a personne sur place de 18h à 7h du matin et dans la nuit du 24/12 au 25, les alarmes incendie des étages se sont mis en route avec personne pour les arrêter et intervenir rapidement. Cela a durer plus d’une heure (jusqu’à 1h du matin). Aucun mot d’excuses, et personnes à la réception quand on est parti 3 jours plus tard.

Vi fick aldrig någon städning under våra tre nätter på hotellet, de bytte aldrig ut våra handdukar. Notera att rummet var smutsigt och dåligt städat från början.
Vid ankomst fick vi först ett rum på bottenplan mot innergården, och när vi tittade ut på på marken så låg där en stor kökskniv?
De har inga bäddmadrasser i sina sängar, så man sov direkt på fjädrar.

Für ein paar Tage war die Unterkunft ausreichend. Allerdings war die Dusche eklig. Der Schlauch hat schon geschimmelt sowie eine Ecke im Bad. Da fühlte man sich nicht wohl. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung. Scheinbar gab es keinen Zimmerserviece. ?

レイト・チェックインをするための方法をメールで問い合わせたが、返信がなかった。（ホテル側は送ったと言ってますが・・・）現地に着いて電話で問い合わせてキーボックス方式の暗号を教えてもらいチェックインをすることはできたが、部屋が違っていた。僕らは３人部屋を予約していたが、シングルベット２台しかない部屋だった。担当が誰もいないので、仕方なく１泊目はその部屋で過ごして翌朝レセプションにその旨を伝えて、その経緯と原因を問いただし、部屋を替えてもらった。初めての経験！

Toilettet var virkelig ulækkert. Toiletbrættet var flækket og brusekabinen var sunket, så vandet ikke røg ned i afløbet men ud på gulvet.

Der var generelt ikke rent.

Idéalement situé, propre, mais peu accueillant

Les + : situé à 5 mn du métro Baker street (idéal pour accès gare st pancras) et à 5 mn d’oxford street pour les options shopping. La bagagerie est un plus cela permet de ne pas promener les valises après le Check out. La propreté de l’etablissement Et de la chambre.

Les - : réception fermée des 18 h c’est un peu compliqué pour accéder si on ne parle pas anglais il faut appeler une personne qui n’est pas très compréhensive.. la douche est minuscule, les toilettes aussi, et les ressorts du lit vous rappellent que vous n’etes Pas le bienvenu. Le personnel n’est pas accueillant, et le service du petit dej laisse à désirer. Pas de beurre en permanence, ou pas au frais, et les tables ne sont pas débarrassées facilement, des voisins ont dû le faire eux mêmes appelant même les employées pour avoir de la vaisselle propre. Très moyen à ce niveau. Ceci étant il est compris dans le tarif de la chambre dans certaines formules.. ceci explique peut-être cela. Au final le charme de la ville nous fait oublier la qualité de l’hotel Ou on ne fait que passer pour dormir !

Hotellets läge var bra. Sängarna var bekväma. Det stora problemet var att luftkonditioneringen inte fungerade, och detta var en riktigt varm period.
En del annat fungerade inte heller så bra - exempelvis trasig hårtork, problem med tvättstället, dåligt lås på ytterdörren, halvdålig städning. Receptionen är bara öppen till kl 18.

Ytterdörren till hotellet, låset dåligt. Så att dörren knappt hölls fast. Med lätthet hade någon obehörig kunnat komma in

Great location!

The location is very ventral and nice, and anly 5 min walk from the underground. Lots of nice restaurants in the area.

Breakfast is ok, but not more.

The room is clean, and we even had a nice little balcony.
