Very convenient location for those extending their stay after a Uniworld cruise. Very quiet location, but within walking distance to all the major attractions in Venice. Prompt and courteous communication from the staff regarding the booking. Arrived well before check-in time and the staff generously allowed us to check in early. Only complaint is that the lock on the room door was difficult to use. Otherwise, highly recommend!

Small. Stylish (like a W hotel in miniature). Exceptionally thoughtful arrival experience. Gets the details right. Comfy beds. Good shower. Great location tucked away from the hordes but just 3 min to the San Basilo Terminal and vapparetto stop. The Zattere waterfront, grocery, cafes are all right there. Be sure to visit the artists’ collective shop a few doors down!

The wonderful staff member Filippo greeted us after our walk to find the hotel. He kindly offered us a cold towel and processco to cool down from the heat. He was very accommodating and gave us great tips for Venice. The room was spacious and comfortable. Only comment would be for the shower/tub situation. the shower hose faced from the wall in the middle of the tub instead of the end so it made it difficult to move around and clean, particularly when the curtain also was in the way. Other than this was a great stay.

Fabulous stay in Venice. The hotel is in a great location, away from the busy/tourist areas (but not far to walk to all the sights). Very clean with a fabulous Italian breakfast. If you like music, Venice Jazz Club is just a few minutes walk away and a great night out. Will definitely stay again.

Staying at Avogaria feels both peaceful and far away from the crowds and at the same time, a short walk away from everything. My room was like a little oasis and the owners and staff are warm, kind and extremely accommodating. I will definitely stay here again.

Hotel was located in a more residential area of Venice so it was quiet but only a few dining areas nearby. The room itself was well furnished with a little garden area attached to the room. However, the hotel had a very peculiar policy of requiring us to leave the room key when we went out. I was concerned that any staff or other guests had access to our room while we were out. It was also time consuming as we had to go to the front desk every time to drop off the key and pick it up. I would not stay at this hotel for this inconvenient and worrying key issue.

Hotel claims to be very up to date very private but we didn’t see this in our stay our room was dated bed was uncomfortable bathroom was wet all the time the water spills everywhere, and there’s no air conditioning only heater. Service is good helpful but just not what is portrayed in the pics.

Nice B&B close to San Basillio cruise terminal
Excellent little jewel in a quiet suburb of Venice. It is a 25 minute walk to the tourist area and Piazza San Marco or you can catch the Vaporetto which is very nearby. It is a nice escape from the hordes of tourists that overrun Venice. The room is a solid 3-4 star, not overly luxurious but nice enough. The commercial soap dispensers in the bathroom were an interesting touch :-). The wifi and tv were down and the owner explained there was an area outage. This was no big deal as if you’re in Venice, you should be out walking and exploring. All in all, I recommend the Avogaria if you want comfortable lodging in close proximity to the cruise terminal and enjoy strolling. The staff are wonderful.

The receptionist was extremely accommodating. He made us feel very welcome and the rooms were great for our need. Kettle in the room was a big plus for a group of travellers who just want to unwind with a drink. Cant comment on food as we left too early but would definitely recommend to other travellers.

Avogaria was in a quiet location, yet close enough to walk to places of interest. The staff was extremely professional, patient, and kind. The B&B creatively combines the beautiful old building with modern amenities. Breakfast provided a good variety of choices to start the day, with coffee choices of American coffee, cappucino, espresso, etc. Overall, this is a very comfortable, inviting location that I would highly recommend.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel is cosy, with only five rooms, and feels like being at home. Very different from large, impersonal corporate hotels. Our room was light and spacious as well as having a small private garden. We really enjoyed our stay and would defiantly recommend it.

Stay away! Descriptions don't match actual hotel
We just completed a 9 night stay (all booked thru hotels.com) in Italy in 3 different cities for our honeymoon. Everything was excellent except our stay in Venice at AVOGARIA LOCANDA. I believe this hotel to be a scam. Here's why:
1. We booked a balcony room 4 months in advance, but when we arrived we were given a room with no outdoor space and were told they didn't even have a balcony room in their hotel. They had us switch rooms the next night (so inconvenient!) for a room with an enclosed patio (still no balcony).
2. The wi-fi did not work in the 2nd room.
3. There was no cooked-to-order breakfast (as seen in hotel description).
4. There was no fitness facility (as seen in hotel description).
5. Our Double bed was just two twin beds stuck together. So uncomfortable.
The worst part of this experience is that when we arrived and told them they gave us the wrong room, the manager didn't let us go to any room. We had to wait in the lobby for over 30 min while he sat on hold with hotels.com/expedia to tell them they were wrong (he was never connected to a rep) This did nothing to help our situation. It just shortened our 40 hour stay in Venice. The manager was very rude to us and said we \"picked\" our room and this was what we choose. However, I showed him my hotels.com confirmation that showed under \"room details\" we had a \"194-sq-foot room with a balcony\". Pretty specific if you ask me. We obviously \"picked\" a room with a balcony.
1. We booked a balcony room 4 months in advance, but when we arrived we were given a room with no outdoor space and were told they didn't even have a balcony room in their hotel. They had us switch rooms the next night (so inconvenient!) for a room with an enclosed patio (still no balcony).
2. The wi-fi did not work in the 2nd room.
3. There was no cooked-to-order breakfast (as seen in hotel description).
4. There was no fitness facility (as seen in hotel description).
5. Our Double bed was just two twin beds stuck together. So uncomfortable.
The worst part of this experience is that when we arrived and told them they gave us the wrong room, the manager didn't let us go to any room. We had to wait in the lobby for over 30 min while he sat on hold with hotels.com/expedia to tell them they were wrong (he was never connected to a rep) This did nothing to help our situation. It just shortened our 40 hour stay in Venice. The manager was very rude to us and said we \"picked\" our room and this was what we choose. However, I showed him my hotels.com confirmation that showed under \"room details\" we had a \"194-sq-foot room with a balcony\". Pretty specific if you ask me. We obviously \"picked\" a room with a balcony.

Very nice hotel in a quiet area
We were very happy with our stay at Avogaria Locanda. It is a very small hotel but provide excellent accommodation. Out room was excellent, tidy and comfortable. It is about 15 minutes from the main attractions however it is close to a ferry which can take you anywhere you need. The area is quiet which was very nice and has very nice restaurants close by.

Location of hotel was OK but service was not good. Bathrooms were not maintained. Curtains broken and wall paints coming out. For the money they charged would not recommend. Owner was also very arrogant not service oriented behaviour.

Comfortable and well equipped
We were really happy with the friendly staff, the freedom to come and go and the comfortable bedroom. There was fast wifi, the bed was lovely and the bathroom was huge and had plenty of hot water. There's a fridge and a safe. The staff were solicitous and welcoming. They also communicated really well with us before we arrived. The hotel is a short ish walk to San Marco for for adults and the beautiful Zattere is nearby. We didn't use it, but the vaporetto also stops outside for those who can't or don't want to walk far. Breakfast was typical European fare of fruit, bread rolls and nuttella but the service was great and the coffee was very good. Overall would definitely recommend.

A great spot to stay as it was close to ferry services and out of the way of busy areas but still close to all the sites. Run by a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome. Room was a generous size and tastefully decorated. Quality was excellent and pricing was very reasonable for Venice

The bed was good and comfortable. The room looked completely different from the professional photos which make it look rather luxurious..which it is not. The breakfast was fairly ordinary and the hotel was undergoing some construction. Be aware that if you stay here you will be in 1 of 4 rooms and as the \"hotel\" is so small there is limited service as the owners are only there at certain times and this is why I gave it a 2 for service. It was convenient for us as it was close to relatives we were visiting.

Lovely hotel
Spent a couple of nights here on our honeymoon. The room was lovely (we chose the cheapest without access to garden). The hotel restaurant was not open at the time so cannot offer an opinion on that. The breakfast was a little poor to be honest. There was a small selection of pastries and bread, and coffee was served from a machine. The owner was very friendly though and helpful with directions etc.

This \"hotel\" is really more like a BnB. There is no lobby, there is only a very small sign outside, and there is no obvious entrance. When we arrived we thought the entrance might be around the corner because we did not see anything obvious. Then somebody poked her head out from a window on the second floor and let us in. If this hadn't happened I don't know how we would have checked in! The room itself was ok, but not particularly clean. There was chewing gum on the floor, for example. The wifi barely worked.

We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel is hidden within the restaurant. While the breakfast does not include any hot food, the room is nicely decorated with a modern touch and the bright terrace is definitely a huge plus for our stay.

The location is good for travelers in Venezia. Walkable distance to any hot spots on island, and also quiet environment if you want a good sleep. Hosts were elegantly hospitable and willing to help. Our room was great, and turned out to be the best one during the period when we traveled around Italy. I would like to rent again if I want to visit Venezia again in the future.

We had previously dined at the restaurant several years ago and were really impressed with the food, service and ambience. When I discovered that they now had lodging, as well, we decided to give it a try. The staff, Francesco, Fillipo and Pierre were all very gracious and very helpful, and the food was as good as we'd remembered. It's located just a short walk from the San Basilio vaporetto stop, and an easy walk to the Ca Rezzonico stop on the No.1 line, and a short walk to the Accademia. It's a great place to stay, in a great area, without the crush of hundreds of tourists, but easy to get to all of the main sites. We had a wonderful visit.
