Absolutely loved our stay here. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. We had zero issues with our stay but heavy or large travelers may have difficulty with the bathroom layout. The sink and toilet are so close that you can sit on the toilet and also wash your hands. To get to the shower you have to side shuffle pass the toilet/sink. The shower is pretty narrow also. Despite these quirks, we would absolutely stay again. Location was safe and within walking distance to St Mark's Basilica (if you can follow Googlemaps). Very convenient that they allow luggage to be stored after check out. Easy walk from bus stop (we flew into VCE) and train station is also pretty close.

Somehow this simple room with a single twin bed and a shared bathroom ended up being my favorite stay during my week's vacation in Italy. Very clean, good breakfast and excellent location right next to Piazzale Roma and close to Santa Lucia. Be aware of the midnight curfew, which was not a problem for me at all. The kindest staff.

It was a wonderful hotel, the staff was kind and accommodating, the hotel was cute and well kept. It lost points for me because the light in my bathroom was broken on the first night, the solution was a lamp in the corner. It was promptly fixed the next day thankfully. The breakfast was a bit lacklustre, bread, meat, cheese and some fruit cake. It became quite repetitive after the first day. Still a decently put together breakfast. Overall the stay was very unique and a good location in Venice, close to the train station but quick to get into the popular parts of town.

The only problem I had was that the bug screens on the windows didn't seem to be doing there jobs. There were always a handful of mosquitos trying to bite me in the night and in the morning.

This was a GREAT hotel to stay in! The location, although it's a little far from the main tourist area in Venice (you can definitely walk there, though), was wonderful! Very peaceful and not crowded at all! The breakfast is extremely convenient, too. A couple of things I would have liked to know beforehand: this looks like a convent (not sure if it still is). Nuns provide you with breakfast, and there's a lot of religious paraphernalia. You also have a midnight curfew. You can pay a fee to have someone let you in after hours, if needed. This did not hinder our experience; if anything, it made it more fun, but maybe keep that in mind if you want to party in Venice (not that Venice is a huge party city, to be honest). Overall, great experience!

We enjoyed out stay at Casa Carbulotto. It's a peaceful, tranquil place that served as a nice base, offering a sense of calm and quiet amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. There are several open areas/rooms where you can congregate outside of your room. The staff were aloof and not very helpful, for example, on our last day we brought our bags down to the breakfast area as it was two flights down. The breakfast room staff scolded us for trying to leave our bags along the wall in the open area outside the breakfast area, so we brought ours downstairs and left them along the wall near check-in. When we went to retrieve our bags, we were once again reprimanded for leaving them in the incorrect place. We would have been happy to leave our bags in the correct place, unfortunately, nobody told us where we were supposed to put them, but they were more than happy to scold us.

This property is essentially a church operating as a hotel, which creates conflicting expectations. They need to decide whether to function as a church or a hotel, as the two do not align well. When the beauty of Venice is at its peak, guests are under a lockdown from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m., which greatly limits the experience. The beds were very uncomfortable and felt like hospital beds. We booked as a couple but were given two separate twin beds with uncomfortable mattresses.Breakfast was very limited.

I had a great stay at this hotel!
- Literally just a 7-minute walk from Venezia Santa Lucia train station—I had a backpack and a regular carry-on suitcase, and the walk was very manageable.
- Check-in was fast and smooth, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful.
- Room was spotlessly clean, with a spacious bathroom and fantastic water pressure in the shower.
- Air conditioning was both effective and extremely easy to use, which made the stay even more comfortable.
- The room was overall quiet—no unpleasant smells or nighttime disturbances. There is a nearby daycare that can be a bit lively in the mornings, but it did not bother me at all since I am a morning person and usually wake up around 7 a.m.
- Continental breakfast each morning was standard but fresh and satisfying.
- You do need to leave your key at the front desk whenever you leave, but that was no issue. The hotel’s rules are clearly posted in four languages and are very easy to understand and follow.
- Overall, a clean, comfortable, and well-located hotel—perfect for a pleasant and stress-free stay in Venice!

Very deppressing setting a d difficult to find. Dark, dated, and old property. Small room, no air conditioning, TV, iron, etc. Front door entrance and exit restrictions. I stayed at this hotel during my brief stay at Venice. The hotel was much prettier in real life than what was shown in photos. It was exceptionally clean and we'll maintained. The only issue I had was the hotel keys, there were times when the keys wouldn't open the door from the inside, and I had to call reception to let me out. Other than that, a lovely hotel with warm, friendly and helpful staff.

This is the first time I stayed at a hotel that does not have tv, hot water/coffee pot, toilet amenities, tissue paper, luggage rack………The lift only takes two persons with luggage at a time. The shower stall is so small, if you drop the soap it’s difficult to pick up…….And there are so many rules, such as curfew, no foods in room, etc.

Venice is not stroller friendly at all so you need to drag your bags over bridges and the property is bit far from the station so do keep that in mind. You can get porters but additional spending.

The staff is very kind and the place is very peaceful. Their breakfast is a great way to start the day and its early schedule encourages healthy habits that allowed us to enjoy our visit to the fullest. The wooden beds and furniture are old so expect a little bit of squeeky sounds if you move to much. Considering its religious characteristics, they’re welcoming of non-religious guests but ask that their curfew and religious background is respected. Overall an excellent stay.

Casa Caburlotto'd bathrooms lock from the inside when you shut the sliding doors . In the 2 nights we spent there, it happened to us and to another guest of the hotel. The receptionist did nothing, and the hotel didn't offer a discount, even though we couldn't use our room's bathroom. we were invited to use a common toilet instead, and we were told that there weren't available rooms to change us to. So basically they ruined our holiday in Venice, never apologised and offered no compensation. AVOID CASA CABURLOTTO!

The worst stay ever. Don’t waste your time or money here. This is a “church hotel” with many rules. I’ll start with the service they provide. Casa Carbulotto has a strict curfew that you need to follow. If you return past the time you will not be allowed into the hotel until the following morning 6am. No exceptions for flights period. Expedia doesn’t allow photos to be uploaded otherwise I would post their small smelly old squeaky beds. They have a dress code to cover your knee’s & shoulders while in the lobby, mind you Venice is hot year round. Bring your own towels they only offer 1 large & 1 small per room.

This place doesn’t deserve 1 star, if you stay here you will be the one writing the next bad review. 💩🏩

A breakfast “buffet” should not come with restrictions. The breakfast options are VERY limited. One of my daughters is vegan and there was nothing for her to eat, not even a single piece of fruit. I was given a warning by one of the nuns not to take a 2nd cup of coffee and that it is one coffee per person. How ridiculous is that? My other daughter doesn’t even drink coffee. I was so embarrassed and that ruined the rest of the trip for me.I am a catholic person, but they made me feel like I am sinning every time I ate. The nuns are always watching you even when you think they aren’t. They make you feel like you’re a horrible person for taking 2 pieces of bread instead of one. The coffee cups are so small you are practically getting 1 or 2 sips of coffee and they don’t let you get any more. In the meantime, on our last morning, we saw one of the sisters making herself a cup of coffee in a cup that is 3 times bigger than the ones they give to guests.

The room conditions aren’t great either. The walls are peeling and falling apart and the room is filled with mosquitos. They have a mosquito repellent in the room that doesn’t work at all. After our daily hunt for mosquitos,we would still wake up with multiple new bites. By the end of our 5 night stay,we were covered from head to toe in mosquito bites.

Remember to bring your own soap because they don’t give you much.

The reception staff was great and very kind and friendly but that was the only positive I can give about our stay.

It was ok, but certain things have to be improved.

Firstly, the fact that there is a curfew at 12:00 has to be in bold and twice highlighted BEFORE you book it. Especially since it’s non refundable.

The hotel itself it’s ok - interesting interior.

Staff was very mediocre besides Fran. I asked for an iron to iron my dress since I had to go to a wedding and the guy at the reception categorically refused, even after I offered to iron it under his supervision at the reception area.

Then during breakfast, I tried taking a cup of coffee to my room, only to get screamed at by the lady serving the breakfast.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to people

I really enjoyed my 2-night stay here. The staff were helpful and friendly. I received detailed directions and map from them the day before my arrival. This was much appreciated as Venice is truly a maze, and easily get lost with so many turns and bridges. I also like the location as it’s only about 10 minutes away from the train station. I like that it’s on the quiet residential side (not directly in the commercial area). The breakfast is also a bonus. The room is simple, clean and comfortable. A very welcoming environment!

What a find! This place only added to the magical ambiance of Venice for us, and was a peaceful, friendly refuge from the hustle and bustle of the streets in the nearby sestieri. A short walk from P. Roma, this quiet, historic, and well-maintained guesthouse was a welcoming retreat at the end of each of our long days of exploring. No frills, unbeatable value, clean, and with a very reasonable breakfast spread for the low-maintenance traveler, I strongly recommend considering Casa Caburlotto for your relaxing value Venice vacation. It is a little removed but that is the charm. I didn't expect a religious run hotel to be so nice. All the ladies were friendly and understanding as I learned what an Italian breakfast was. My room was also cleaned everyday. I am a clean person but they made it top notch. I also loved the air conditioning which was severely needed for the weatjer while I was there. The only thing that could have been improved was the mattress, but even that was fine with the extra bedding they had.

Ok place but not fabulous.

This place is ok if you need somewhere cheap to stay in Venice. Better for people who are early risers and early to bed

- close to most airport buses

Weaknesses
- door/walls super thin so you’re woken up by people in hallways
- midnight curfew was a bit of a pain. I’m not a partier, but given Venice’s layout, you basically need to leave whatever you’re doing at 1115 to make it back in time. Curfew should be extended on Friday and Saturday night til 1
- breakfast ends at 9 which again is very inconvenient.

Terrible experience... we had move to another hotel in venecia and I called hotels. Com and they are not responsible for anything they just stole my money don't say that the hotel is closed from 12 at night to 6 in the morning the place is far from the square of Rome in Venice. Excellent Casa!

My stay was agreable. The casa gave me value for my money. Breakfast was good. Not far from taxi, bus and train. Personnel friendly and willing to help. Chapel available for personal reflection and prayer.

Amazing location, only a 5-10 min walk from the bus station. The staff is so friendly and helped answer all of our and provided great tips for getting around the city. Just be mindful doors lock at 12 and reopen at 6 am!

Great location, quite street but close to everything. 20-30 walk to Basilica di San Marco, Grand Canal, Realtor Ponte. Close to Piazzale Roma and San Marco parking garage, 32 Euro per day, 8 minute walk.

It was clean and close to the train station. The curfew is at midnight, but after walking in Venice is summer, you may not need to stay out late.

Unacceptable customer servive

Uncomfortsble room, due to unfortunate planning. Not suitable for a person walking with a cane. Refusal to accomodate despite many rooms availability for same price. Demand 10 euros to change the only bath towel, wet Intolerably rude customer disservice. Nobody in charge
