It was probably our mistake, but the pictures of the room are misleading.

We rented a room with a private exterior bathroom. For some reason, we just rely on the pictures to show that the room has a private bathroom. At arrival, we were indicated that the bathroom was an exterior one and was not in the room. It was literally next to the lobby, and it was a bit uncomfortable walking all the way to the bathroom.

It was pricy, but the location is unbeatable, I have to admit.

Eventually we located the right hotel after we revisited the other hotel. It would be helpful if an address would be provided. Also, the phone number we were provided during check in did not work.

The location of hotel is great, a short walk to St Marks and other sites. Local bars and restaurants good and reasonably priced. Our large room on the top floor, accessed by lift was lovely with all you need/expect. A kettle would have been nice though. Check in was another hotel a short walk away, which we were aware of and was not a problem. The outside of our hotel looked a little shabby but inside was fine.

No, it's not the Conrad, but a pleasant, clean room in the heart of Venice with two comfortable beds for my wife, myself, and our grandson at a good price.

TLDR: sort of fishy setup, checked in at one hotel and sent to the actual hotel with a paper map.

I booked this hotel because I wanted a place close to the train station to stay the night before our flight the next morning. Online, it said that the hotel was a four minute walk from the train station. After paying for the room, I got an email telling me that I would be checking in at a different hotel than the one I was staying in, but the check-in location was the original address I booked under. When we checked in, it became obvious that the managing company was \"running\" what looked like four separate hotels out of the same lobby, so people would check in there and be sent across the city with a map to where they were actually staying. It was a fifteen minute walk to our actual hotel with our suitcases (which wasn't the end of the world, just not what I was planning on). Basically, I think this hotel is lying online about their location next to the train station to get people to book with them.

The rooms were nice and clean, with a working elevator and AC.

We had a wonderful stay at Ca’ Dei Polo. It’s not a hotel per say. Check in was at another hotel and the front desk was excellent. They had upgraded us to a suite which sounded lovely after having a long, hot tiring day trying to figure out how to get to Venice after our train was cancelled. Ca’dei Polo was very close to the train station in a very nice location. From the outside the building looks neglected but it seemed to us that renovations were in the works. It helped that I had a picture as the name plate beside the gated door was small. We guessed there might be 6 guest rooms as it was small but very lovely with such charm and character. Small elevator and/or wide staircase made getting out bags up very easy. Our suite was a large room with a king bed and large hideabed couch. Renovated marble bathroom with a huge shower, air conditioning and facing a lovely courtyard making it quiet in the evening. We had a couple of small requests after our first night and the maid was so helpful and easily solved our issues. We ate breakfast every morning just around the corner in the square. Everything so walkable. Loved being on the quieter side of the grand canal. Close to the train and bus station and the water buses to Piazza San Marco, Rialto bridge and Murano. Rooftop sitting area was perfect in the evening after exploring all day. Excellent value for the price!

We returned because we had liked the architecture and location.
We were disappointed to find a notice that the key was blocks and bridges away. No notice was sent, nor about that breakfast was not available, not even a coffee machine.
We noticed that the structure was not maintained, to the point that our neighbor got locked into the bathroom and after calling out, a phone call was made and eventually a man came who sawed the door. It's an unacceptable way to satisfy guests and build a returning clientele or a referral base.

Extremely difficult to find and enter the unattended property. Extremely difficult to find the attended sister property 20 minute walk away. At one point the only entrance/exit was broken and I could not exit which was a dangerous situation. Understanding the verbal instructions over the phone was an impossible challenge if you do not speak Italian. The location in gorgeous Venice was excellent.

Ca dei polo has no signs at all. When you come here, note that you are greeted only by a thick iron gate door. The only way we knew this was Ca De Polo after going back and forth numerous times was because of the number 203. You check in at a hotel super far (7-10
Min walk) away. There is no one here to help if you need housekeeping, extra anything. I asked for extra towels and she mentioned they change them every day. The room is decently comfortable but there is no obvious control for heating or cooling. We opened the window at night because it was warm and got bit by mosquitoes. There is no coffee maker in the room nor coffee for guests. They did not replace the shower gel when cleaning the room the next day. Its location is the one saving grace as it’s located next to a coffee shop, the grand canal (its on a side street) and a great cichetti place.

This isn’t an actual “hotel”, aka there’s no staff on site to check you in (I had to walk across the Grand Canal to another hotel just to get my keys which was a total surprise and major inconvenience). It’s basically a guesthouse with none of the typical hotel amenities you might expect. Was also up all night battling mosquitos!

Check-in is at another hotel 10 minutes away. We weren't aware since Expedia did not provide the hotel with our contact information (Expedia fault, not hotel). Other than that, the stay was great. We were upgraded to a huge suite room with views of the canal, which was great. The location was also perfect, very close to the train station and the bus station, as well as close to many attractions.
Overall, we would stay again as it was great value for the price !

Terrible service, hotel not open for business

Terrible service. At the moment this hotel should not be open for business. There is no personel present. Wifi did not work. Water did not work for a while, but was fixed. On the home page it was informed that one could check in before 12.30, but actually, you had to go to another hotel 10 minutes away, I was not informed about this. First they denied to have my reservation, after waisting 30 min. of my time, it suddenly was ok.
The room itself was nice, modern and clean, and I recommend it.

The hotel room was very clean and big. There is only someone at the front desk from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, so if you need help with anything, there is nobody there to ask questions to. There is a bell outside the door that connects you to someone at a different hotel.

Although this is a bed and breakfast, there is no breakfast, no coffee in the rooms, but there is a refrigerator and a safe to keep your valuables.

Overall the stay was just fine. The proximity to the Santa Lucia station made it very easy so we didn't have to take our luggage very far. It can be confusing navigating the alleys when it is your first trip.

The location of this place is great! We stayed one night in order to hop on a bus to the airport the next morning. It's a couple blocks from Piazzela Roma, but also walking distance to the train station, as well as many great restaurants and shops. Our room was simple and clean. My one complaint was that the pull out bed (for my kids) was basically a wire mesh bed. So if you get the family room be aware that the added beds might be uncomfortable pullouts. The main bed (a king, which is two twins pushed together) were very comfortable. On the upside - the shower was the best we had in Italy!

This is our second stay at Ca' Dei Polo. We love the location on a small canal very close to the train station. Lovely area with lots of patios and quiet little streets to walk along. The hotel is lovely and feels like your own private home in Venice. Rooms have high ceilings and feel spacious. Air conditioning was great for the hot summer days.

A very comfortable stay in Venice with kids, very large room with big bed and a sofa bed as well and a large bathroom. Definitely a big place for Venice. This is not exactly a hotel as they do not have 24/7 reception/concierge but you can get access by calling from front door while checking in after hours or leaving your bags in the lobby after checkout. The location is very suitable for families with small kids as it is very close to transportation; bus, train stations are 5 min walk. It is right off the grand canal.

We got there and a different name was on building and a metal door for entry was locked. A sign said to go to another hotel to register. As a traveler we didn't know the hotel or where it was so we lugged our luggage down the street asking anyone where the hotel was. We finally found it and signed in and were given a key to the outer door and to our room. We had to lug our luggage back in and the was no one to ask questions until the next day. Poor service. Room was good and area good.

We \"checked in\" at around noon along with 2-3 other couples. We were not given keys but were told by the woman at the desk that our rooms would be ready at about 1:00. We (and the others) returned about that time but there was no one there and the place was locked up tight. No one responded to the door buzzer. Finally, at 2:00 (after an hour wasted hanging around in the hot sun), a guest from the previous night who had been given a telephone number to call contacted the hotel and they let all of us in. Our keys were laid out. The location is great and the room was lovely. However, it was not obvious how to work the air conditioning (and there were no instructions and no one to ask) and our televsion came on in the middle of the night for some unknown reason. The paper that we were given with our keys said there would be free water in the room but there was no water there. I hate to give this place such a negative review. Hope they can remedy these service problems for future guests.

The area was nice and it could have been a decent stay, but when we got there, we did not have a working toilet. The reception is only open for a few hours in the morning, so I spoke with the on call receptionist over the phone and was told that someone would be at our door at 8:30 the next morning to fix the toilet. No one came until almost noon the next day and when I would ask the receptionist for updates on when someone would be able to come so we could use the bathroom and leave, she was not able to give me any information. This all made the beginning of our trip quite frustrating. Other than that, the room was fairly clean which was good.

We got to the hotel early as we had arranged when we made our reservation. We were allowed to leave our bags and told to come back after 2:00 to check in. When we got back at 2:30 to check in we stood outside in the pouring rain ringing the bell for 30 minutes before someone finally responded and let us in. There was no staff person in sight but just a line of envelopes on the counter with our names and instructions. We had no one we could ask about sights to see, restaurants or how to get to the airport the next morning. I normally give favorable reviews even if things do not go as planned, but I would not stay here again.

Perfect location if you're coming from the train station. You just cross the bridge over the Grand Canal, walk to the right and then the 1st \"street\"/canal on the left is your road. Nice, safe area (as seemed all of Venice). Front desk is on the 2nd floor and is only open in the morning. You just buzz the front door upon your arrival (any time) and then they will buzz you in. Your room key and info will be waiting for you. The hotel was nice and clean and well kept. Our room was quite large with a king bed and pull out couch. The bathroom was very pretty. The rooftop was accessible with many chairs to relax. Elevator if needed.

Owner is very friendly and helpful. Room is clean and spacious! Building is not too easy to find, and don’t trust google map. It doesn’t provide the correct direction!

The place is beautifully decorated and Fransceca is amazing. She know the place well and offer great advice. Super friendly too :) the plus side is that there is a lift which make it easy with luggages. The place is not easy to find though as there is no signage outside. It’s just few doors away from hotel canal.

Hotel is well located, close to Bus and Train terminal. We booked this hotel as we were taking a Cruise, we walked from the Train terminal to the hotel with our bags, and from the hotel to the People Mover to get to the port.

The staff is really helpfull, they provide us with the information we need to get around and where to go. We did walk all around Venice.

The Room was clean, and they provided water in the room which was cool. Would stay again without hesitation. Highly Recommended.

Nice and safe location close to the train station

Great location five minutes away from the train station, it felt like a safe neighborhood. I had a single room which was mostly clean but looked somewhat old. I had some problems with the shower, the shower head wouldn't stay in place, and made a puddle in the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful though.

Loved Venice!

Pick this location if you dont want to take a water taxi to your hotel: it's less than 10 minutes walking from the train station and easy to find. There was no iron available at all (really?) and only take the recommendation for breakfast at the place across the street if you want something that resembles an American breakfast. We had a large room with a couch which was nice given we spent a little more time in the room than planned because of the weather. Overall accommodation was very good.

Short visit to Venice

The room was spacious though it was booked as a suite. Clean comfortable daily supply of water was free. Receptionist was friendly knowledgeable and informative.
Downside it is not a hotel and cannot legally have the name in front of the building which makes it difficult to locate. Easy way to locate . Opposite hotel papadipolo across the canal. Once you locate it very handy for shopping restaurant and buses, trains and vapporities etc. the canal side accommodation can be a bit noisy early in the morning with loading , offloading canal barges. Despite the negatives, I would recommend staying There

Excellent location steps from the station and the parking facility, yet in Venice on one of the canals. Authentic look and feel. Staff was fantastic, very helpful. Four stars because the two of us seemingly ran out of hot water in the morning, something we appreciate given the reality of life in Venice. Overall a great place, would stay again for sure.

Amazing hospitality. They explained all my way around Venice and beyond with a big free map as soon as I arrived. The place is very pretty, clean and the price great. Very close to the Railway station. I hired a street helper for 15 US$ to helped me cross my lugagge through the bridge, and walked only 200 meters to the hotel. Excellent option.

A little difficult to find and it looked very non descript from the outside but the rooms were beautiful and very clean. Francesca was very helpful and welcoming. The WiFi was good and also there was a little fridge containing water . We only stayed one night before a cruise and would stay again .

Great stay at Venice!

We really liked this place. We were received by Francesca, a lovely and super friendly italian girl who gave us tips on where to go and what to do and eat. Ca dei Polo is very close to the train station which was very convenient and a short walk from the main attractions in Venice. Plus, you must walk to get to know the city! The room was very clean and comfortable, the building has an elevator which is a relief after climbing all those stairs with luggage at the train station. There’s a nice restaurant very close and they’ll make a 20% discount if you stay here.
