World-famous Saint Mark's Square is within a leisurely 30-minute walk. The hotel is set opposite Santa Lucia train station and very close to Piazzale Roma.

The rooms are very bright and inviting and feature 18th century furnishings as well as original flooring with lighting and mirrors made from Murano glass, creating the characteristic and elegant Venetian ambience. Our stay in Venice was wonderful from start to finish. The service was truly phenomenal, and the staff went out of their way to offer helpful recommendations throughout our visit. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade—the room was spacious, featuring a large bathroom and plenty of comfort.

The hotel’s location near the train station made getting around incredibly convenient. One of the highlights was the included tour of the Murano glass factory, a unique and memorable perk. And of course, the view overlooking the Grand Canal was absolutely stunning. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Venice!

We stayed in the newer part of the hotel. No view but it was a nice room and the staff was absolutely wonderful. It was walking distance from the train and we hired a porter to carry all our luggage (on a cart),, over the many bridges. They served a tea that was quite nice and they had an outdoor area with tables and chairs. Definitely would stay here again. Clean and comfortable.

First we were assigned a room in an annexed building which was not our request as they claimed. The room was dirty smelly and more like prison cell diffic to move around. More important it was in a high floor without elevator without any consideration for our age and our health condition as we tried to explain. All what they did is move us after we spent a terrible night to another room in the ground floor in the same ugly annex building. The new room was noisy at night that made the sleep uneasy. Above all all the staf in the front desk were not polite and refused to listen to any complaint.

Breakfast had a wide selection and was very good. Just beware of the seagulls if you want to eat outside. Staff was very accomodating. Overall a superb choice.

I’ve stayed in 5 Star Hotels and the service was as expected for a hotel of that ranking—very good. But more times than not, I always felt the service, although very good, it was forced. Part of the job. But at the Hotel Canal Grand, though not a five Star hotel, there was a genuine feeling that the staff really cared about the time you were staying with them. I felt like a guest. They could not have been more accommodating, and for that I am grateful.

We stayed at Hotel Canal Grande for 4 nights. The front desk staff was kind and accommodating. We arrived at 1 am in the morning and wanted to have a cocktail after a long day of travel. Even though the bar closed at 11 pm, the front desk clerk was kind enough to open the bar for us for as long as we wanted. We had a junior suite and found it to be spacious compared to many rooms of this category in Europe. Relied on the front desk staff for many needs including advice on navigation, meals, etc. The staff was gracious during every encounter. The hotel location is as close to the action as you can get without being in the noise and crowds. 5 minute walk to the main drag (Rio Terra Lista di Spagna). Highly recommend and will stay there again

Fantastic stay and the staff was amazing! I had asked if thy knew if there was a way to get tickets to an opera that was sold out and they jumped right in to try and help me figure out what my options were and I ended up getting a ticket! One night layover

Don't expect any help getting to the hotel. Check in went well. We had more luggage than normal and they carried all our things to our room. The room was very nice. The bed was hard. The shower is very small. There is a small fridge in the room. It did a great job cooling beverages. The stairs are narrow in the annex. We asked for our luggage to be set out for our taxi the next morning at 6 am. The night person didn't know anything about it. When we got down to the office nothing was out. He was very unhelpful and a bit rude. I had to ask him 3 different times to get our luggage as our water taxi was waiting for us. The location is amazing. The views are spectacular. It was fun to sit outside and watch the activity on the water.

The staff were very accommodating and arranged for a water taxi to pick us up at the cruise terminal. They also stored our luggage as we had an early arrival and gave us a GREAT room with a wonderful outdoor terrace with a view onto the Grand Canal. They made a dinner recommendation and made a reservation for us. They also arranged for a water taxi for us to the airport for our departure. We truly enjoyed every part of our one night stay!

We loved our stay at Canal Grande Hotel. Wonderful location oversetting the canal in a quieter part of town. We enjoyed having breakfast on the private deck on the canal. A lovely hotel on the canal

We loved this hotel, the staff who were so friendly and helpful and our lovely spacious room on the top floor had the most gorgeous view of the bridge and the canal from our window. We chose it for its location on the canal, a balcony above the water to enjoy breakfast and we had tables on the piazza .. such a lovely hotel. The area is also great to wonder around, not so busy with Italians in the cafes and not just tourists…the staff was exceptionally welcoming and happy to recommend boat stops and restaurants around. We will come back!

We stayed in a room that was accessible from outside the hotel on the main floor. It was great as we didn’t have to enter the hotel at all. The bed and pillows were comfortable . We also walked there after parking our car in the parking garage. It’s about a 30 min walk to Piazza San Marco.

We absolutely love the property! They give us a free drink ticket upon our arrival and a free tour of the Moreno glass shop! It’s by restaurants that many of the locals go to that have amazing food and a reasonable price! It’s close to the train station and not far from the bus station (the bus will take you to the airport). Only downfall is it’s about a 25 to 30 minute walk to Saint Mark Square and where some of the nicer shops are located. However, we didn’t mind as we enjoyed the walk!

The property was well kept and the furnishings were reminiscent of a different era which felt completely appropriate. While the finishes were nice the overhead shower did not always have cold water which was a bit inconvenient. Luckily the handheld shower faucet had both working cold and hot water.
One major thing to note. I felt like this was a bit of a bait and switch. We were given a room in their annex property and were not even in the same building as pictured on the Expedia site. This meant no view at all and we could not even open our curtains as the windows faced an alley that had people walking right outside our windows which was noisy in morning and evening.
I would have rated this property a bit lower but I will say it had the most comfortable bed and pillows of all our hotels in Italy.
