It was very very sweet homemade cakes excellent fresh fruit, and pastries. It was very sweet and more than adequate for the price range.

The hotel is located in a quiet corner close to the canal away from the crowded area. We were allowed an early check-in because the room was ready. Looks old from outside but the inside is renovated and well stocked with necessities. The owner speaks good English, the staff cordial, the building is cool without AC. A perfect place to relax after a crazy day in Venice. We had a comfortable staying. We'll stay here again.

This is a somewhat dated hotel inside, but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast provided is good, the staff are very nice and helpful. The best thing about this hotel is the location, it’s a short (10 min) walk to train station, which is important because walking thru Venice with bags can be difficult. I would certainly return and recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a little cozy classic Venice style hotel. Very clean room and excellent bathroom. Good heating in the bathroom which feel so warm for November travel.
The location is actually convenient, very close to piazza Roma. But a little tricky to find. Very friendly and helpful staffs, giving us great route to walk around Venice as well as bus info.

Check in was quick and the room was specious and clean.
Pro: location is central and really close to the train station and bus station. You can go anywhere from there either walking or with the vaporetto.
Breakfast is ok.
I had the room number one which was on the ground floor and it was spacious.
Cons: my room was right by the breakfast kitchenette and it was noisy from very early as they were preparing breakfast. This was something easily solved as we bought hear plugs.
The room got really hot during the night and there was no way to control the temperature panel. Not a big deal tho.
Also the hotel is not manned 24/7 so just keep that in mind, do let them know what time are you checking in and out.
Overall if you want to stay is a very well connected area this is the hotel for you. It’s not a 5star hotel but if your intention is to have a decent hotel to just sleep at go ahead and book it.

On 6 April 2019, our family of four were checking out of the Hotel Al Malcanton after a 2-night stay. We approached the female staff at the breakfast counter for our thermal flask to be filled with hot water, so that the kids could have milk on the flight later that day.

A few hours later, we tasted the water to test its temperature and were appalled to discover that the flask had been filled with EXTREMELY SALTY WATER.

It is obvious that we were travelling with 2 young toddlers and the water would have been for them. Whatever the reason could have been (unwillingness to help with the boiling of water because it was near the end of breakfast time or even a demanding guest), it just goes to show what sort of inhumanely nasty person we've encountered, it does not justify the intent of causing such harm to your guests, or worst, children. All you had to do was tell us you couldn't help.

We are thankful that we had tested the water before giving it to our babies, and we pray it was nothing more harmful than just water with salt.

Fantastic place

I loved this place, very spacious rooms and tastel, reception very welcoming, and a delicious free hot breakfast. Great central location close to Piazalle Roma bus to airport and train station. The neighbourhood is very quaint and not as touristy as say the Rialto Bridge area, but this turned out to be a welcome surprise. Cute stores restaurants and pubs along the canal at night, found a great pub on the canal in 5 minutes with live music outside was so much fun. Also a public square nearby , a university or college whose name I forget but nice walks in that area too. A great community to go at night to wind down and have a good rest from the Rialto bridge tourists. Get a good rest here then head out the next day to explore.

OK for a short break

We were happy that this hotel is near Piazzale Roma and only had to negotiate two bridges (one with steps) to get there. The hotel is very small and is apparently only on the ground floor. Luckily we had a photo to let us know where it was as there's no obvious sign. The good points: near to Piazzale Roma, clean room, modern bathroom, adequate breakfast. Breakfast was rolls, croissants, yoghurt, cereal, orange juice, coffee or tea and cheese, ham and salami - plenty for a morning's walking. Bad points: a grumpy owner, very small room, nowhere safe to leave cases on the last day. There is free wi-fi but no way to print off your boarding pass, and the breakfast room is actually the corridor to the bedrooms! That was where we had to leave our luggage. On our first day we asked for two extra pillows which were \"not available\" due to a full house. The next day we got one pillow but \"due to a misunderstanding\" did not get our room cleaned. When we asked one of the friendly female receptionists, she came and made the beds. We didn't mind not having clean towels or anything else as we were about to go out again. The room itself was quite dark as it is in a small square with high buildings around it, and the windows are high off the ground. Being small there was very little space to put our cases.It has free wi-fi but no way to print off boarding passes.

Very deserted location and hard to find.

While not too far from the port, this hotel is very difficult to find. There is no signage, and I walked passed it several times without realizing it. Also, it is in a deserted location and it is very dark at night when walking back from restaurants.

The room was not clean, with hairs (from who knows who/where) in the bathroom shower and floor.

Lastly, the breakfast area was tight to say the least, and the breakfast options were minimal.

Thankfully, we stayed only one night.

It is a reasonable budget hotel. We were given an attic/loft room and, being a tall person, I did not find very comfortable. If that was not an attic room, I would have given it a much better score. The staff are nice and friendly. The hotel is situated in a peaceful and quiet area, a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The WIFI signal was very bad, almost nonexistent.

Nice quiet hotel to stay in

From Marco Polo airport we got the bus from stand 2 to Pizziale Roma bus station. To find the hotel from the bus station look around and you'll see Hotel Arlecchino in the corner of the bus park, walk towards there and you will come across a set of steps to get out of the bus park and onto the footpath. There's a double flight of stairs to walk straight over and that takes you on to Rio Del Magazen which you can see on the wall across from the canal. Walk straight down the footpath literally until you can't walk straight anymore. There's a bridge to your left and the footpath goes to the right and on the building on the right it says Fondamenta Del Gaffaro and Ponte Marcello. Turn right there, in front of you is building number 3593, walk towards that and then turn right. ``You will see in front of you the biscuit colour hotel on the left. There are no signs outside. The room was clean and in a quiet area. The breakfast was good too. The staff were courteous and friendly.

It was a value for money hotel, nothing fancy, but with all the basic amenities provided. The location was quite good, walkable from the Venezia S Lucia station and also to the places of interest and places to eat.
Drawbacks- The breakfast had very limited options and there were only 2 channels on the tv, with no English channels. There was no sign with the hotel name. So we had to call up the reception to identify the building. However, these were just minor issues, and shouldn't stop you from staying at this place. Overall it was a good experience.

Quaint hotel close to train station

Styled hotel very close to train station, which is well worth it considering there are no taxis or transport in Venice so you would need to walk with your bags. Approx 30 minute walk to main square but good for exploring. Plenty of restaurants nearby also.
Staff were not as friendly as we are used to in Australia, but hotel was clean and breakfast fine. Rooms were surprisingly large which was great. Would stay here again.

The location is fairly far from St Marks Piazza about 30 minutes walking, but about 10 minutes to the bus and train station on Venice Island. The room was smaller than expected, although the bathroom was larger than expected and it also appeared to have been recently renovated. The room and bathroom were both clean. The only issue we had was that the air conditioning was not working as the man at reception refused to turn it on. He had explained that they were only allowed to turn it on once it went past a certain temperature due to a regulation in Venice/Italy, which I found very odd.

More like a mediocre b&b .

This is certainly far from a \"hotel\" . A few rooms on a ground level - wth a tight reception / lobby/ breakfast area all in one . Staff are unfriendly and unhelpful . We were not even greeted upon arrival - barely lifted his head from his computer . Room was okay- Clean but pretty dated . Mini bar did not work and smelled of rotting fish - Management did not even bother to come Check on it or fix it during our 3 night stay , even though we notified them upon arrival .
This property is listed as non smoking but owner stands right by entrance smoking non stop so the entire lobby area as well as rooms ( ours was adjacent to lobby) all smelled like stale smoke . Overall , it was not a pleasant experience and we would not recommend .

Hotel does not have a name outside you have to look for the number.
There are trip advisor stickers on the door.
With bus station on your right and Grand Canal to your left walk bridge in front of you then take bridge to left where there is a florist and cafe. Walk this path to the end.
turn right and hotel can be found within courtyard on the right.
Good restaurants just over the Al Malcanton bridge. Good wi-if and adequate breakfast.

The small hotel, the Hotel Al Malcanton, is in a quiet neighborhood/area with easy access to many of the attractions and sights. All rooms are on the first floor, there is free wifi, and a moderate continental-style breakfast (from 8:30 to 10am) is included. Other guests were a mix of Italian and foreign tourists. My spouse and I stayed at the Hotel Al Malcanton during the third week in October 2015. It was very quiet and we had no problems. The owner/manager and his two assistants are friendly enough. There is not a street-facing reception and it is actually located in the hotel, so you may need to buzz them first at the outside door in order to get in.

Very clean, decent value, dark neighborhood

The hotel was quite clean with a generous size bathroom and a relatively short walk from the train station. The breakfast wasn't anything special to worth waking up for but I guess it's not what I was paying for. The value was worth it considering some of the other prices in Venice, however keep in mind the neighborhood is very quiet and dark in the night, making it very difficult to return to the hotel late since many of the locals even had trouble guiding me back to the hotel when I got lost on the tiny Venice street. It is a good location to get back to Plaza Roma if you're heading back to the Airport, but otherwise the location is not great at all.

Pietro at the front desk was nice enough. The support staff were very nice. The room was spacious enough certainly for Venice standards. Not much to do at the hotel. Then again if you're spending too much time in the hotel, you're missing the point of being in Venice. I loved the neighborhood we were in especially for a first time visit to Venice. It was an easy ten minute walk from the train. You didn't need to take water transportation. The place was clean and efficient and my daughter and I were very pleased. I would certainly recommend this hotel for the price, especially for the first time visitor.

Having never stayed in Venice I have nothing to compare this hotel with but the rooms were old and run down. They were clean but sad. The staff seemed sad too. The breakfast was almost nothing and what was there was not fresh. The coffee was forgettable. Price and location...that's about it for that hotel.

The overall stay in venice was average and the hotel was mainly used for sleeping. There were few limitations in the hotel like, one cannot bring food inside the room, no iron service was available, no hot breakfast was available. Also at the time of payment we were told to pay additionally for the city taxes, something we were not aware as it was not mentioned in our mail confirmation from expedia.com.

This hotel was conveniently located close to the rail,bus and vaporetto terminals. It's situated in a quiet courtyard which was nice to come back to at the end of the day and be away from the hordes of tourists. The room was beautifully decorated in a 18th century Venetian style with brocade walls and marble floors. The bathroom was quite generous in size. There was a free breakfast included which was basic and was on the sweet side which is how the Italians like it. Our initial greeting was a little gruff (the same staff member was very pleasant when we checked out though), however we found the younger staff to be very helpful and friendly. There were many restaurants located near the hotel and we loved sitting out by the canals for dinner. Venice is incredibly romantic. I would definitely recommend this hotel and thought it was value for money and would love to stay here again!

We stayed for 3 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a couple of minutes from Piazzale Roma (main bus station) so it was convenient to get to once we arrived on the island, although it is tucked away down the winding streets. The room was excellent, exactly what it looked like on the website, very grand and clean. We enjoyed the hotels location, it was probably about a 10-15 minute walk to Rialto and San Marco and we got to explore all the canals on the way, although just round the corner are some of the sites, such as Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, Scuola Grande di San Rocca and a little further Ca' Rezzonico. This was th first time we had stayed in a 2 star hotel so wasn't sure what to expect but was plesantly suprised, and in hindsight we were glad we stayed on the main island instead of a cheaper hotel on the mainland.

I have to say i have mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. Even though the room was very clean and the decoration was nicely done in the Venetian style, as it was described, i was extremely disappointed to find out that my room was literally right next to the reception. Apparently there were two more rooms that were as close to the main entrance. It was not only frustrating to know that i would be disturbed by different noises, like the sound of cutlery during breakfast, the owner's conversations and the phone ringing throughout the day, but i was also annoyed with the way the owner dismissed my worries by just saying 'it's not noisy' and not even trying to relocate us.

The location of the hotel is good,however, it took ages to find it on the first day, as there was not even a single sign to indicate that it is a hotel and not a house, which i found really annoying. Try and double check its location on the map before you attempt to find it, as the name of street is a very common one and can be very misleading.

Overall, it was a satisfactory hotel, considering the prices of hotels in Venice. If we had got one of the rooms that were further away from the reception it would have actually been a very good deal.

Konumu harika. Piazzale Roma’dan sadece tek köprü geçerek gelinebiliyor. Bavullarla gelirken çok kolay oldu. Dorsoduro bölgesi çılgın turist kalabalığının olmadığı ama keyifli meydanlardan geçerek San Marco ya 10dk da yürüyebileceğiniz bir lokasyon. Odamız oldukça temizdi, her gün de temizlendi. Kahvaltısı yeterli ve lezzetliydi. Kahvaltı servisinde görevli hanımefendi tam bir arı gibi çalışıyor, herkesle birebir ilgilenip eksikleri gideriyordu. Check out sonrası bavullarımızı akşam üzeri 5’e kadar otelde bırakabildik, bunun için de ayrıca teşekkür ediyoruz

What impressed us was how clean it was. We were a family, and our one-year-old daughter was also comfortable. They had freshly baked bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, and other buffet-style items that were very satisfying. The lady in charge of breakfast loved children, and they were very happy.
The location was convenient, about a five-minute walk from Piazzale Roma.

Estaba asustada por las recomendaciones anteriores pero mi experiencia fue maravillosa. Encontrar el hotel fue como encontrar cualquier cosa en Venecia. Si bien no es lo más sencillo (nada es sencillo de encontrar en Venecia) nosotros llegamos ahí a la primera. Una vez ahi nos permitieron dejar las maletas para ir a disfrutar Venecia. Su ubicación es súper buena porque está muy cerca de Piazzala Roma y ahí justo te deja el autobús del aeropuerto o el tren si vas a un crucero. Una vez que dejes las maletas estás listo para caminar por Venecia (Me alegró no tener que caminar por la ciudad con el tumulto y los puentes cargando maletas). La habitación estaba impecable, conserva el estilo de Venecia. Las camas me parecieron cómodas y con mucho espacio. El personal era maravilloso también, simpático y servicial. Encontré mucha atención a los detalles. El desayuno fue genial. A pesar de que llegamos tarde nos atendieron como reyes con comida de calidad y casera. Sin duda lo recomiendo. Espero volver pronto a hospedarme en este hotel.

Súper mal ubicado el hotel, deberían ser más cuidadosos cuando se hacen reservaciones y estar al pendiente de la llegada de los huéspedes no está a la vista el hotel y mucho menos hay anuncios del mismo, tardé 40 minutos en poder llegar, camas muy incómodas, desayuno bastante pobre, en realidad, bastante malito.
