We were in room 205, which is a “suite” at the back of the building, with windows looking out on Campo San Toma. Not so much a suite as a good sized, very nicely decorated room with a bathroom. The room is only accessible through the outdoor courtyard garden and up a flight of stairs – no elevator.
Nice high ceilings and characterful decor that felt quite Venetian.
Quite a lot of wardrobe space for a hotel room.
Pretty good selection of food at breakfast. Eggs made to order scrambled or fried.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
WiFi internet good: 87 Mbps down, 67 Mbps up.
Not so good things:
The Heating/Aircon controls were awkward and idiosyncratic. It seemed that the cooling was not working at all, and I suspect that as it was winter the hotel had turned them off to save energy — this was not a problem as such, except the heating was very “enthusiastic”, especially in the bathroom, and we struggled to sleep the first night due to the excessive warmth. By the second night I had got the hang of controlling the heat in the bedroom, with the help of opening windows for a while, although the bathroom radiators remained blasting out heat 24x7.
No low level lighting controllable from bedside.
Paper cups in room — we borrowed proper ceramic mugs from the bar/breakfast room.
The rainfall shower head needs a thorough descaling or replacement.
Water pressure quite low in shower.

Breakfast was also good. The only negative was that they only provided small paper cups with the tea and coffee making facilities in the room

Great hotel fairly central to Venice centre.

The hotel looks recently refurbished to a high and sumptuous standard. The rooms were well presented, although the superior room was on the small size.

The shower had a secondary hand held outlet.

Breakfast was a plentiful continental affair but with a very limited hot selection.

Roughly 25 mins walk to San Marco Basillica.

Temperature of the rooms was ridiculously warm, could barely get any sleep. The room was at 23 degrees and it wouldn’t go down from that. Had to ask for a fan to make it a bit more tolerable . The ac was my biggest drawback and the hotel was fully book, so they could not accommodate me.

I went solo for two days. The hotel is perfectly located in a quiet area but walking distance to everything. The air conditioning was a godsend after long and hot days. My room was perfect size for me but is probably too small for a couple. Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy but had main ingredients of a hotel breakfast. If you want a more proper Italian breakfast, I would advice to go to a local coffee shop instead.

This Hotel was one of my first choices but it was a little pricey, I then got a great deal and reserved it immediately. This was my first visit to Venice and everyone was telling me about how important it was to stay in a hotel in San Marcos, but this hotel could not have a better location. We arrived by train and caught the Vaporetto to San Tomá, then it is a short walk, less than 5 min. Then you can either ride the vaporetto to Rialto or ride A gondola for only 2€ across the Grand Canal, this Hotel is centrally located and it is very easy to go anywhere and very fast. The hotel was wonderful, the staff was mostly helpful, the room super nice and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great, with lots of options and being able to enjoy in the patio was very nice. I highly recommend this hotel.

The property was overall great. A little hard getting to if you take the Alliguna water taxi because the stop the hotel suggest they don’t stop there so a lot of bridges before u get to hotel which was challenging with luggage. I had the 2bedroom canal view room. Yes it’s a canal view but no boats really go by only delivery’s or construction. Also it’s not a true two bedroom just two hotel room with a connecting door and you share a bathroom. Shower lights up cool and flows from ceiling or handheld. Room was nice size with high ceilings. So the picture you see with 2 green bed frames that the beds for this room. There is no living room. TVs are inside mirrors pretty cool. One room has a window with canal view and other has balcony with canal view.Breakfast buffet was great a lot of food options freshly squeezed juice. I even saw wine. They really try be 5 star here with their service. I left my wallet in the safe and yes I paid to get shipped to me but I least they found it for me Thanks! Lightning low in the room so just make sure you get all your things and you need key in to run the lights. Elevator you had hold the button the whole time but actually not bad. We mostly used stairs because we were on 1st floor. Elevator small so it fits maybe 3 or 4. I would definitely stay here again enjoy your stay. Also I got wine on check in for being a silver member nice touch.

Nice, quaint hotel.

Very quaint hotel--my room was a little noisy during the day since it abutted an outside walkway, but this would not matter if you were out sightseeing all day (I was on a business trip and needed to work inside some of the time, but since I had earplugs, the noise was not a problem).

The included breakfast was nice (large selection and the wait staff were very nice) and the hotel provides umbrellas for the occasional rains.

I would stay here again.

The staff are friendly and helpful! The hotel is gorgeous, the room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was surprisingly good and abundant, the staff were so accommodating, and the location is extremely walkable. Very near the San Toma vaporetto stop, but also easy walk to the main “touristy” Rialto Bridge areas. Got a bit noisy at times from people on the street but I think you’ll get that most places because the city is crowded. Great location. We were able to go out and sightsee, and come back to the hotel multiple times in the day to recharge.

Magical, truly surpassed our already high expectations. In a lovely area of San Polo and only a gentle 19min walk to Rialto bridge plus visit to All’ Arco Cicchetti bar is a must on the way. Two wonderful restaurants 1min from the hotel and loads of hidden bars across the small bridge. Highly recommended 5 stars

The room definitely didn’t look as nice as the pictures and was dated. The room smelled like B.O. and there were noticeable stains (bodily fluids?) on the chair and ottoman cushions. The headboard padding had stains on both sides in the shape of a torso, from the many guests that leaned against the padding and left their body oils over the years. Bed was not a King but two twins put together. Stains on the white window coverings were red to brown, from who knows what. The shower was like a phone booth with a giant rainfall showerhead in the ceiling that couldn’t be adjusted so you had to contort your body to rinse certain areas. Also walls were pretty thin and could hear the people on the next room talking and also walking by outside the windows. Needed an iron/ironing board and had to request it and use it in the common area because it wasn’t allowed in the room. The iron leaked and I gave up trying to iron because my clothes were getting soaked. Now for the good…staff was super friendly, breakfast was good with decent selection, location was good, and was able to board a water taxi to the airport right out front. I don’t know how our room choice got a 9.4 rating because it was far from it. I feel like I was deceived by Expedia on this and also overheard two other guests complaining about room size and lack of view from the room despite the description on the website. I feel like the ratings/reviews on Expedia were deceptive and didn’t represent what we got at the hotel.

Pontos positivos: quarto reformado (novinho) e muito bem decorado, estilo veneziano. Café da manhã muito bom. Ficamos no andar térreo e não tivemos problemas com barulho. Ótimos amenities. Localização boa (próximo a Ponte Rialto e uma caminhada de uns 15” até a Praça San Marco).

Pontos negativos: Chuveiro razoável. Calefação/ar condicionado difícil de configurar.
Atendimento da recepção muito ruim, solicitamos apoio para opções de translado porque o nosso voo era às 7am em Treviso. Gastamos uma alta quantia com Uber e depois percebemos que havia ônibus saindo da Piazzale Roma até o aeroporto regularmente e as 5am. Uma informação que certamente poderia ser repassada ao hóspede, além de oferecer tb táxi privado a um preço acessível.
Um hotel dessa categoria poderia dar melhores informações e oferecer conveniência para o cliente.

Havia também uma visita inclusa à uma fábrica de Murano que só ficamos sabendo por meio de outros hóspedes que compartilharam a informação no café da manhã, e quando solicitamos foi bem confuso, primeiro negaram, só depois solicitaram o táxi quando outros hóspedes que já tinham feito o passeio confirmaram que foram pelo hotel, enfim, foi constrangedor.
Poxa, no dia anterior perguntamos sobre o passeio e o rapaz da recepção disse que não precisava de reserva, bastava avisar na recepção que chamariam um táxi.

O espumante, previsto como cortersia, foi necessário perguntar por ele, pois não o recebemos ao realizar o checkin.
