Property itself is fine! Nicely decorated room and halls with vintage furniture; closed in outdoor space to sit and rest. However, I wasn't impressed by the communication by the property and it was rather hard to find the hotel. Every other place we stayed in contacted us prior to our arrival and sent detailed info to find the place; not this one! No answer to phone calls. Contactless check in/no lobby, if it's your thing. You need to read a 15 page booklet (not kidding), to figure everything about property and some forms which I didnt even bother to fill in. Upon our arrival, we found our key taped to the main entrance in an envelope with my name on it (where anyone could have grabbed it) because we arrived after hours (after 4pm or something ridiculous). Also not sure about the security within the property as there was a note in the booklet about not to leave windows AND shutters unlocked. Lastly, breakfast is included but according to the map in the booklet; a 10 minute complicated walk to the breakfast place which didnt sound good in the first place. We didnt feel like treasure hunting and just skipped it. It was a joke honestly! Bottom line is, nice property and grounds with rather romantic but small room with ZERO customer service

So technically we stayed at the Call d'arte Suites as a free upgrade gave us their apartment, which was a real treat and very kind.
The apartment is full of beautiful furnishings in the bedrooms and bathroom in particular. The kitchen is somewhat plainer but as we weren't eating in it didn't matter. Air conditioning was good and very much needed as bedrooms understandably warm.
Only criticisms is some Mosquitos which are probably common to all Venetian hotels and lots of stairs to reach the room.
Totally worth it and totally understandable but just a bit of a shock!
Overall we were very spoiled to be in a location with so many pieces of authentic furniture and in a great location.

We have stayed at Ca dell'Arte before, and liked it then too! It is a small hotel, and therein is its charm..
It is very near a vaporetto stop, and near enough to get to San Marco square, and San Stefano square too. Some good restaurants nearby too. The hotel does not have 24 hour reception, but there are staff during the day, and everyone is very charming and helpful. The room was comfortable, and loved the murano chandeliers, and fittings.
Breakfast is a straight forward, continental style buffet - plenty of coffee and tea, plus cheese, ham etc - would have liked tastier local bread, but it was absolutely fine. There is also free tea in the afternoon, but as we were out 'til after 6pm, we never made that - though as we were provided with tea making facilities in the room..no problem!

Perfect, great location and clean.

Location is great, it's right next to a ferry port and 5 minutes walk to Saint Mark's Square.
The room is very clean, tiles do not feel slimy in the bathroom.
The water pressure and temperature of the shower is perfect.
Rooms are air conditioned and it works very well, it was extremely hot in Venice whilst we were there so the air conditioning was needed.
The breakfast spread has a lot of variety for you to choose from.
Check out is a decent time - 12 noon.
Rooms are as is in photos.
The only little things I would mention is there is no power outlet near a mirror to blow dry your hair and if you are elderly or not fit it wouldn't be a good idea to stay here as there is a steep flight of stairs to carry your luggage up.
But I would definitely come back here to stay and would reccomend it to all my family and friends.

Nice room, but stuffy and never saw staff once

My husband, son and I stayed in the two bedroom unit at the very top of the building. We had to lug our suitcases up and down many flights of stairs. No one was there to greet us when we arrived which wasn’t a big deal but during the 3 days/2 night we stayed there, we never saw any staff except for the lady who cleaned the breakfast dishes. If you wanted anything, you had to dial 9 and sometimes they answered and sometimes they didn’t.

Our room was very stuffy and the A/C wasn’t on yet so that’s why I rated the comfort of the room low. Otherwise the room was fine.

They left a note stating that city tax had to be paid in cash and leave it in the room. Expedia confirmation said 1 euro per person per night. Hotel said 2 euro. There were no instructions as to where to leave the keys so I had to dial 9. No answer. Kept trying until someone answered. Then they asked if I could wait 15 minutes. I told them I had a train to catch. It ended up that they didn’t get back before I left so I then got “urgent” emails from the hotel that I didn’t pay. Apparently they could t charge my Amex without me being there. They could have easily fixed this issue by leaving me a note before my last day or staffing the desk at regular times.

If you just want a home base, have little luggage, want a decent breakfast, and don’t expect anything from the staff, this place is fine. I paid a lot of money and don’t feel I got my money’s worth.

Get detailed map/directions. Streets / walkways are narrow and defy logic. Locals understand and are great at pointing you in the fight direction.
Check flooding schedule (full moons); don't be alarmed just be prepared for the tides. You can actually by flood boots!

A very beautiful hotel its very easy to find, the bed was very comfortable, breakfast was nice. It's was a bit weird not meeting any staff when we was there but did not need to speak to anyone, so not really a problem. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

We had an incredible feeling when entering the room. Everything was of such beauty that we got absolutely amused.
The location is pretty good. We've stayed in January and it seemed a really quiet area, no matter that is 10 minutes away from Rialto. However, I suspect that during the peak time it would be a little bit busier.
The breakfast option was correct and the staff was friendly and very helpful.

Excellent Gem in Venice

Despite a shaky start due to my own fatigue and short temper, this place is stellar. They had our keys ready for our late arrival and we were in a room in no time. Excellent location in Venice and right close to San Marco Square. The rooms are top notch and we highly recommend spending the extra for the deluxe two storey room. Wow!

Quiet and such a delight. The breakfast is also very good. We loved everything about this hotel during our 18 day 5 city tour of Italy.

This little apartment was viewed with trying to find a little bit of Venice and succeeded in every aspect!
It was within easy walking distance of the Venetian attractions and very close to a water taxi stop off on the Grand Canal yet not on the Grand Canal itself which can be very noisy.
We hoped for a great trip it was.

Fantastic hotel would defo book again.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Our room was massive and beautiful. The only thing we didn't like, and this is personal preferences, is the bed was so hard. We didn't have one good nights sleep, but that's because we like a softer bed. The breakfast was good, the staff lovely, and the location was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful hotel really close to San Marco Square

We were greeted on arrival by Bruno who was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is really clean and the room is spacious with fresh linen and towels every day that we were there. The breakfast is a continental one and they offer you to help yourself throughout the day to snacks and coffee and they supply tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. The hotel is only a short walk from San Samuele Church boat dock and about a 6 minute walk to San Marco square, my only criticism is that we were not given a double bed but two twins pushed together but other than that I cannot fault it and would stay there again!

Had a great stay at Ca' dell Arte. Bruno and Gloria made it more enjoyable as they were both very helpful and accommodating. The cleaning lady did a great job as well. The room was very good size and so was the bathroom. It was clean, good location though not in the middle of San Marco but very close to a vaporetto stop. The area is not very touristy as it has a more local high end flair to it. And this is why we really liked the place. Definitely would stay here again as it made our visit to enchanting Venice unforgettable.

Nice comfy Art decor hotel near to san samuela

Location: great as around 50m from the san samuela which is frequented by #2 boat from train station. walk straight from san samuela and hotel on left

Security: very secure where you can leave luggage on last day. There is a good sized locker as well in room

Rooms: we had the kids room upstairs and ours downstairs though kids slept with us.

Breakfast: is good and even though choices are limited

Afternoon tea: we didn't go back for tea but do avail the facility

Quiet location

I booked this after reading good reviews; it was for our 25th wedding anniversary and our first trip to Venice. I upgraded to a Superior room after viewing the options - all rooms however looked good on the pictures illustrated.
Location is great; we took a private water taxi - not cheap, but worth it we thought for the first time to Venice and our special occasion. Location is ideal as we were dropped at the S Samuele 2 mooring on the Grand Canal, a 50 yard walk to the hotel. Reception was pleasant and we were shown to our room. Nice but disappointing compared to the pictures. Cleanliness was outstanding, but the breakfast was only ok. Breads / pastries could have been fresher, and the fruit is tinned. Location is good, a 10 minute walk to San Marco, etc. At night it is quiet, however the biggest issue during our stay in the Liberty room was the noise from above. We were on the second floor - no guest rooms were above, so the noise is either from the staff or a separate apartment - not sure which although we suspected the staff as it started prior to breakfast (early at 06.30, although breakfast wasn't until 8.00). Similar noise at night on our last day. I travel a lot both on business and pleasure - this stay was disappointing...

This hotel on added to our excellent first visit to Venice. Only 10-15 min walk to San Marco. Amazing rooms with very opulent decor. Immaculately and well maintained with very friendly and helpful staff. Free WiFi and a good selection at the buffet breakfast. Couldn't have asked for more.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days in April 2016. Like everything in Venice it is a bit difficult to find and is behind a fairly non descript locked front door. However once inside the rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is excellent and more plentiful than we expected. Bruno and all of his staff are very friendly and helpful. Once we got to know the area there is a water bus stop much closer than we realised. The hotel is situated in a typical quiet Venetian walkway and is in easy walking distance of the main tourist areas. It is surrounded by pleasant arty shops and good restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to other travellers.

Quiet location in central Venice

Location - the hotel is tucked away, making it perfect for a good night's sleep, and yet it is within walking distance of all the main areas of Venice. San Stefano square nearby has excellent places to dine/sit and stare.
Inside hotel - the 8 rooms at Ca'dell'Arte are furnished sumptuously with velvet and gilt embellishments, each one with a different artistic theme. We stayed in Casanova, a standard price room, and it was exquisite. Every modern convenience is there to make your stay comfortable.
Staff - so friendly and kind. They gave us ideas of where best to visit, etc. Lots of little touches like suggestions of what to do that day on each breakfast table.
Breakfast - continental with a full range of options being constantly topped up.
Overall? I'd definitely recommend this hotel. We felt so at home and made to feel welcome. The detail in the furnishing of the hotel gave us a real Venetian feel, unlike a modern box room.

We stayed here 3 nights. Room was very nice and we were delighted with it. The room we stayed in was called The Casanova and it consisted with large entrance room and a staircase up to a mezzanine floor that housed the bedroom with a king sized bed. We found everything to be spotlessly clean and the well stocked mini bar was very much appreciated and reasonably priced. The breakfast was very nice with fresh croissants, butter jam cereals and very good cappuccino. We were sent a map how to reach hotel which was much helpful. The water bus is 15 euro each and it's really pleasant ride in a boat. We did gondola ride and it was perfect. Bruno and Gloria was very helpful and the girl in breakfast room was always smiling.

hotel excellent and not far from most attractions. it was hard to find when we first arrived at night as the boats dont stop at the stop near the hotel and we had to get off somewhere else and try and make our way in the dark. Breakfast room didnt have enough tables when everyone came to eat at the same time. Other than that we would recommend to stay there.

The hotel is in the centre of Venice, very close to most of the attractions. We had a problem with our reservation on the first night, but the staff of the hotel were kind to find a solution and compensate for this problem. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast satisfactory. I liked that the coffee machine was available for the whole afternoon.

A great place to stay in the heart of Venice

We booked Ca' Dell' Arte for our honeymoon. We couldn't fault it. We were minutes from two vaporetto stops and close to many of the major sites. Despite this the hotel was in a peaceful location.
The room was bright and very comfortable and the public spaces were maintained to a high standard.
Breakfast was something to be looked forward to.
The staff were unfailingly helpful, polite and cheerful.
We would highly recommend Ca' Dell'Arte and can't wait to return.

Hidden Gem in Great Venice Location

We loved this place just off San Stefano Campo. The staff was friendly and attentive. If you want a nice place to stay in the non-touristy area where food and shops are reasonably priced this is it. We had a little trouble finding it initially only due to how Venice is laid out but once we did, it was easy to get back to. The Alilaguna from the airport stops at San Angelo (and not San Samuele which is just down the alley from the hotel). If you stay on the same side (don't cross over the Pestrin bridge) you'll make your way easier. Can't wait to go back.

I loved this hotel, the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was very clean, beautifully decorated and the breakfast was decent too.
My only niggle was my pillow as it was on the hard side but overall the hotel was great. It was within walking distant from everything. I would recommend it to anyone.

We had some reservations having read some negative reviews from November last year but decided this must be a blip in what was otherwise positive feedback, we were not dissapointed. Visit was the third week in February with myself, my wife and daughter for my wife's birthday.
Found the hotel with careful scrutiny of a map and a sat nav app on my phone (which was really useful throughout our stay for finding our way around).
Our room was beautiful (we were in 'Belle Époque'). Staff helpful and friendly, complimentary breakfast was excellent with hot drinks available until late afternoon should you want them. Can't fault our stay and would stay here again without hesitation.

Fantastic Hotel !!

I stayed at the hotel on 22nd January to 25th and found the hotel to be the best B&B I have stayed in. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. I stayed in the Casanova room and this was very clean and impress. The rooms are very Italian based and gives you a feeling of being in Italy what you would not be able to get at other hotels. The Breakfast in the morning was excellent with the best croissants I have ever tasted. 100% recommend this hotel!

This hotel was the first stop on our honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful and the room was so plush and quiet, I was able to sleep 12 hours straight two days in a row! The staff were lovely too.

Great boutique hotel in the heart of Venice

We stayed at this little gem of a B&B for 3 nights and were delighted with the accommodation. The room we stayed in was the called the Casanova and it consisted of a large entrance room with Venetian furnishings and a staircase up to a mezzanine floor that housed the bedroom with a super-king-sized bed. The Venetian decoration throughout the suit was beautiful and created a relaxing atmosphere. We found everything to be spotlessly clean and the well stocked mini bar was very much appreciated and reasonably priced, Getting to the hotel is very easy take the vaporetto #2 to San Samuele, and take the road on the left in front of you. Walk for about 50 yds and the doorway to the Ca' dell'Arte is on your left.

Boutique Accommodation

Set in a quiet area in San. Samuele within the San Marco area of Venice. This boutique B&B is an excellent new accommodation providing an excellent continental breakfast. The staff were excellent and lead fantastically by Martina who works tirelessly to make the stay enjoyable. Grazie!!

Excellent hotel

Stayed here one night prior to going on a cruise. Everything was excellent. Room was in impeccable condition and staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location, within walking distance from vaporetto stop so you can easily get there from the airport and cruise lines using public transportation. Our room was located on top floor and very spacious, with a separate living room and big windows. Only negative (very small negative) I can say is if you're on the top floor as we were, be prepared to walk up and down a few flight of stairs.

Probably best Venice hotel that we have stayed in!

We chose this hotel because of being in San Marco district but not too close to the noisy sections.
We were in the Rococo room – beautifully furnished, (loved the murano chandelier) and the first hotel we have stayed in Venice which has comfortable chairs for sitting in the evenings!! Also silver velvet walls and huge mirrors. The view was into the street, but this didn’t bother us at all. Coffee and tea facilities were also great, and most unusual to get this in Venice.
Bathroom and shower were lovely – super products and lots of fluffy towels (also a hair dryer). The shower was wonderful.

Staff were unfailingly charming and helpful, and though there is no-one at the desk at night, we were given a key to the front door and it was easy to get in after hours. They also did leave contact details in case of any problems.
Breakfast, very good selection – best coffee we have had..and lots of nice fresh food – fresh fruit salad lovely, and great patisserie also. It gets a little busy in the mornings, as the breakfast room is quite small, but this was not a major problem. No hot selection – but we really didn’t miss this as the hot food is never as good as you think it will be anyway!
The hotel has several trattorias and nice bars nearby, and is about 10 minutes walk to San Marco, or 5 minutes to San Stephano (where there is a most excellent icecream bar – best in Venice they say).

This was our third visit to Venice.

Having previously stayed in the super-deluxe hotels included on our tours (Gritti Palace and Europa-Regina) we wanted something with more local flavor, and less costly so that we could extend our visit.

So, we expected some compromises to be made. But we were pleasantly surprised at how elegant and comfortable the hotel was. The staff were very attentive. The included continental breakfasts were actually much more than that, including excellent quality prosciutto, other treats, and a high-end expresso machine

Charming and quaint.

We stayed here 2 nights before our cruise. There were 4 of us in 2 rooms. Both rooms were very nice. Water, sodas and snacks in the mini bar were complimentary, breakfast was really nice with hard boiled eggs, fresh croissants with butter and jam, cereals, fruit and very good cappuccino! Other reviews say it is hard to find, but if you are taking a private water taxi, which we did, you get off at S. Samuele dock and the hotel is less than a short NY block away straight ahead, easy to find. Private water taxis cost 50 euro from the train station and are quick. The water bus is 15 euro each, so pay for the convenience, at least on the front end, to save yourself the hunt for the hotel. You'll be glad you did, and it's a really pleasant ride in a beautiful boat. more about the hotel: the staff was very helpful and gave us great tips for things to do. They arranged a trip to Murano at a reasonable price of 10 euro per person, but be aware that that is a one way fare, you have to get yourself back by water bus for 15 euro more. The tour was nice and we bought a few goodies, however, you can get better prices in the shops right near the hotel. Stay away from shops in St. Marks except to look, you'll pay twice the price.We did a group gondola ride that promised singing and music, and we were not impressed. We were herded along with about 8 other boats, 1 singer on one boat, went at a snails pace and didn't cover a lot of canals. Bring your own wine. :-) Would stay again.

Beautiful hotel, we loved our time here.

We loved our stay here. The hotel is beautiful and Venetian in style, but still very modern which was one of the main reasons we booked it as that is very hard to come by in Venice! The hotel I spotlessly clean, the staff were welcoming and friendly. They happily provided me with gluten free of do for breakfast, which I am very grateful for as it made my stay much easier. Lovely quiet location, with no disturbances. It took us 10 minutes to walk to Piazza San Marco (looking in the shop windows on the way) I don't think I can think of any downsides to this hotel! When we return to Venice, this will be where we stay.

Great room

This is one of the best that we came across in this Europe trip. The hotel and the room was beautiful, comfortable, clean and spacious. Breakfast was also nice and was served in bright clean room. I will highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a very good rest after touring around Venice (which is not easy to walk and navigate around). Service is also good and they gave us good information and advice about Venice. However, we were quite disappointed that there were no washroom for us to use when we returned to pick up our luggage (after checked out). Otherwise, it's great hotel.

Great design

I'd only recommend this hotel for its elegance in design and spacious
room. The breakfast was also generous and the staff were great , including the owner , although we never saw him. The price was reasonable.

The things that they need to improve is the water temperature. It is fluctuating and all the time we were there, hot water would went off.

The location is really difficult to find. Do your assignments on which bus boat to take and what station to get off. In this case, we took busboat #2 and got off at San Samuele, well thats after 3 hours locating the place.
