The annex is quite a long way (500m) from the main hotel, so that you won't end up using any of the facilities there. Room was quite tired. Small kitchenette in room was quite handy to do your own breakfast.

The place was clean. The service people seemed annoyed with us. They were professional enough though . The location is not on the main road but using google maps it was easy to find. Walking distance easily from where the bus drops you off. Shops and restaurants close by. The bed however was really really firm. Almost like they put a little padding on a piece of plywood.

This place is pretty but small. The opening for the shower is about a foot and a half wide and you can’t exactly bend over in it. The staff are amazing and very kind. If you are walking there be prepared for the stairs with your luggage. We hired a porter for the return to the train station. Worth it.

One of the bed was really smelling bad, we ask front desk to change everything and she ask us to talked to maid. Actually it’s their job to give best service.
There was no AC and no fan, it was hot for us. We ask them and they said, it’s not summer yet.

If we open then windows then mosquito would come inside and bite. There was no net on the window.
I would not refer this hotel to anyone.

1.They would not accept credit card for payment of city tax (cash only). It was not mentioned in the email I received the day before from the hotel. We stayed in hotel in Rome, Florence and didn’t have problem paying city tax by card. This was a big inconvenience since I carried very little cash. I had to make a separate trip to ATM and call my bank in the USA because of an issue while withdrawing from the machine.
2. The room smelled like having mold and very stuffy.
3. There were pieces falling off from inside the roof and wall (paint peel and wood crumbs) which deposited on towels and our bags.
4. There was no standing shower. There was no shower screen in the bathtub, so we had to take shower squatting/sitting down so as not to splash water outside the tub.
5. The lady was clearly not up to date with technology. Our room was in their annex which was about 0.5 km away. I asked her to put the address into google map so we could navigate. But she said google map would not work. So, we followed the paper direction she gave. It was not very easy with that paper direction. Later on we figured out how to reach our room (say from Venice train station) using google map. It does work in Venice
4. The lady said it is very hard to manage without cash in Venice. Now I am out of Venice, and I could do everything in Venice with card except for the Gandola (for which I was already carrying cash).
5. Will never recommend this place to anyone. The worst stay of our entire Italy trip.

The hotel \"technically\" qualified for 3-stars, and the room itself was clean. However, DON'T BOOK unless you're a college student / or VERY short on funding. For example, your legs will need to fit UNDER the sink, AFTER you move the trash can elsewhere, before you can actually use the toilet. Inferior quality throughout, broken mirrors, etc. (although there was adequate hot water). As a regular international business traveler, I felt unwelcomed by a generally dismissive staff. Returning to the actual 3-star room, the air-conditioner FAN functioned, although I was still sweating in the room until around 8:00 PM, as the actual cooling was sadly lacking.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T BOOK, unless money is tight. As mentioned, the room was clean, although you could hear EVERYTHING from all rooms around you, the hall, etc.

The apartment we stayed in was away from the hotel but it was very comfortable and spacious for our family. The location was quieter than some of the other more touristy areas. The apartment smelled musty, especially the bathroom, but most of Venice smells like that in June. The A/C worked great and was very nice to come back to after walking around in the heat and humidity.

Decent room but lots of stairs, toilet seat was broken, light was broken, some things were just broken but the theme of the room was nice. My one big suggestion is get a shower curtain. The entire bathroom turned into an indoor pool every time I showered. Water goes everywhere. Staff were nice.

The hotel is being falsely advertised on Expedia. It gives a location of the reception, but there is no mention that you are renting out apartments much further away from the reception.

The hotel also advertises a bar/breakfast and rooftop patio, but as we had to stay a 10 minute walk away from the hotel reception, we had no way of enjoying these facilities IF they even existed.

The apartment we werw given was filthy and had ants everywhere. The bathroom wasnt cleaned for our arrival either. Completely avoid if with young family

Our stay in Venice was lovely. The hotel is an easy walk to restaurants and sightseeing spots. The antique furnishings and hand blown chandelier added to the charm of being in the Dorsoduro sestieri (which according to one local is the student & artist district). Check in/out was quick and straight forward.

Great hotel for a reasonable price

It's a really nice place, it was clean and we were in a quiet street. The only caution I wanted to give other guests, is that our room is about 10 minutes away from the actual hotel. So if you're in the annex building be aware of that. We never used the roof terrace, because it was not convenient to go there. There is a nice little square around the corner where we would get our breakfast. The bed was comfy. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a traveler that wants to be in downtown Venice in a budget.

Mistakingly booked 13th to 17th March instead of February. My bad luck was that 13th to 17th of February and March had the same week day format (Monday to Friday).
Although I've sent the flight details to the hotel (after they've asked the second day of booking) and it was clear screenshot that shows correct flight dates (13th to 17th February), but the hotel staff didn't warned me that flight dates are different then the hotel booking, and I think that they did this deliberately to let me in the trap.
I've realised about the mistake only when I was in the hotel 13th February with my 2 kids, the receptionist tried to help me (thanks to him) when he've seen my bad situation, but the supervisor lady wasn't helpful at all.
I've contacted Expedia for help, and asked them to preempt the booking or cancel it with a penalty, even I asked to postpone the booking to October, the hotel management has refused all.
I think that Pantalon Hotel is the most greedy hotel in Italy, and I'll never book again there.

Front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect for walking to everything. It is a very loud hotel, the doors slam very loudly when closing, including the main door which you can hear from the 2nd floor. I was in a single twin bed room, which was extremely small for even one person. The bed was uncomfortable with 2 thin pillows. There is no shower curtain which can create a mess on the bathroom floor. I stayed 2 nights, but wouldn't stay more than that.

We spent 3 full days in venice and decided to stay an extra night. Hotel Pantalon was the only, and worse experience of our 12 days trip to Italy. The AC was not working, wifi unavailable and they charge an \"extra-travel-tax\" in euros upfront. Do to the A/C issue we decided to open the windows and we got eaten alive by mosquitos. The place is old with old deco, smells musty but to be fair at least the room was clean. For more than 2 hours a drunk person knocked and yelled uncontrollably at a room door with nobody to controll the situation.

Great location and easy access to hotel with a code on the front door. Staff was on site at desk until 2:00 M-Fri and till 8:00 on weekends. Room was very clean and cleaned promptly every day. Fresh towels too. Mini fridge in room was a help as the restaurant was closed so we had breakfast in our room. Nice roof deck where we sat one warm morning for our breakfast. My biggest complaint was the bed - the mattress was like a rock and the pillows were flat as pancakes. I had a hard time sleeping due to the lack of bed quality. Don’t plan on spending much time in the room as it’s small and serviceable with one desk chair.

you can’t help that the room is tiny and you have to trip over your things to move around, same case with the bathroom , there was hardly any walking room to step out of the tub to between the bidet, toilet and corner sink. All that would have been fine to live with if they had done things they can control. There was no AC or fan to cool the room, the bed cover fabric headboard had spots on them and was raggedy old, the pillows were flat. also i only had one outlet in the room to use.
mosquitoes and bugs didn’t bother me as much as the fact that there was no help climbing down 3 flights of carpeted steps with my luggage. But the worst part was the fact that the walls were so thin i could here the person in the bathroom next room! Ended up paying over €300 for two nights ... never again!

Hotel very centrally located and near to a nice bakery and pizza place. We had the annex booked and when we went to check in we were told it was a 10 minutes walk away but they had a room upstairs we could use. After dragging 2 kids around Venice we didn’t fancy walking anymore so decided to use the room offered but I wonder whether the other place would have been nicer. Also it doesn’t state anywhere on the website that the annex is a 10 minute walk away.

I enjoyed my stay

I booked this hotel for one night in Venice with my parents. Our booking was actually at their annex which is less than a 10 minute walk from the actual hotel. My parents and I enjoyed our stay. The room was very big, but there isn't any separation in the room so we each got dressed in the bathroom. The annex isn't that far from the actual hotel, except the map that they give you to find the annex is confusing (even confused a local), someone from the hotel came to find us in the street and helped us find it. I thoroughly enjoyed the location of the annex, it was close to the Leonardo Plaza which boosts many restaurants and bars so that was a plus, and it is close to one of the gondola canals. If you are staying in Venice this is a good place. We only stayed 1 night because we were returning to Rome the next day. But I don't think you need more than 1 day/nigh in Venice anyway. They also let us leave our bags after we checked out since we still had a few hours before our train ride to Rome, so that was helpful. Plus, the hotel clerk gave us many options for dining when we asked.

The hotel has a lot of potential, but needs to improve their standards of acceptable conditions. Staff were polite. The bed and furnishings are uncomfortable and mostly damaged in some way. I wonder if there are safety standards for electricity, because everything operates with extension cords, which would never be approved in Canada. I travel mostly with dresses that require hanging, there really isn’t enough space for hanging more than 4 garments. I shared my concerns about the bed covers and headboard cleanliness, appearing dirty with food and crusted with old dust. It was not addressed. Other items in the room are very unclean, I wouldn’t touch the phone or side lamp. However, clean towels and linen were provided daily. The bathroom has a terrible design, mostly because showering without a curtain or door means water goes everywhere. Although the location is good for many reasons, this is not a hotel I can recommend and will not use unless it significantly improved.

The Hotel was perfect for a short stay, it was clean and was surprised that it was just what it was supposed to be since people had some negative to write. I think when booking in places like Venice don’t expect too much unless you do luxurious staying! It’s an old town so expect the quirks of old town hotels. Arrived at the front desk to find our place we had rented was actually off property. So we had to lug our suitcases from the cruise terminal to main hotel, then another several blocks to our room. Several steps and many turns (like all of Venice) later we found room to be freshly cleaned and everything we needed for our one night in Venice. Funny smells in bathroom but overall very clean. The housekeeper was there when we arrived to make sure we had everything. The “mosquito deterrent” was scary at first but unneeded. Our stay was severely damped by the downpour the next day when had to walk to front desk and then the bus terminal for departure to airport. Not hotels fault but was no fun.

The room we were in is really small and the furnuture is very old, TV did nor work, the bed was extremely hard. Price is too high for the condition of the hotel. The location is ok, however, takes you 20 min to San Marco. The good thing that the room was very clean, the towels and bed sheets changed regularly. The receotiin staff is frendly , but, take comments refarding the condition of the hotel very personaly, very defensive.

Nice location, I recommend taking the vaporetto. Although they say it is 5 minutes from the bus station it is a very complicated walk and directions are not provided. Staff was mostly polite but do not expect any recommendations for your visit including places to eat. If you are a couple I do not recommend the double bed rooms as they have two twin mattresses pushed together as the main bed and they side apart easily. Be ready to pay your tourist tax in full cash only upon arrival before you check in. Check in is 1pm and not a minute prior. Roof top is good area.

Overall the stay was great, good price, excellent service and convinient location.

Married couple in forties with sixty yr old mom, 2 rooms, front and back of hotel.

We walked from train station and crossed 3-4 small bridges. Only 10-20 min to most sights like Rialto bridge or San Marco Square. Several piazzas along the way to see churches, canals and shops.

Hotel is quaint and cozy (European small), beds are not built for comfort but met our needs since most of our time was spent roaming the city.

Breakfast is available for $8 and is simple euro style, meats, cheese, yogurt, cereal and breads.

Great automatic coffee machine, take a cup of joe to the rooftop terrace and listen to church bells at 8-9am. Back rooms are very quiet, Front rooms you can hear people in alley until 1am, especially if windows open. Bathroom was tiny and no shower curtain, but again, met our needs and created some more adventures.

Would stay again on future trips.

This hotel is located in the Dorsoduro area, a few minutes walking from St. Mark's Square and all the other attractions, the lady who attended us on arrival spoke English so we had no problem communicating, About 15 minutes from the hotel because they have several locations and we were given a small apt which was excellent, super clean, beds excellent and everything very clean, air con and bathroom ensuite and large always with hot and cold water in the shower and with service Free wifi, our stay was excellent without a doubt and if I returned to Venice I would stay at this same hotel.

We booked a family room (2 adults, 2 children) with a private bathroom. Little did we know until we arrived that this family room was in fact a 10 minute walk away from the hotel which isolated us a bit and deprived us of the benefit of staying in a hotel where beds are made and towels are changed daily - even the landline phone wasn't working so it felt like we were in a self-catering apartment. It was quiet as slightly set back but very close to Campo San Barnaba which has a few restaurants and gelato shop.

The room was what we wanted even if the beds were not perfectly comfortable. Location was fine, especially for its proximity to Plazza Marguerita where there was an excellent fruit vendor and the best gelato in Venice. Sorry, forget the name. Venice can be hard to walk due to the puzzle of streets. If you can't read maps, it might be a challenge to get where you want efficiently. Be cautious about offers of free trips to Murano. We found that the promised round trip boat did not pan out and we had to take the water bus back, but we had a day pass anyway, it just took longer. sad to see a once beautiful city being swallowed by the sea and building in disrepair. Still, good people, good food. Recommend Osteria Ristorante Alle and Gelateria Il Doge off Campo Santa Margherita.

Spoke to Expedia officer to bk got a good deal without brkfast annex blg infrm 10mns walk frm orignal htl bldg. Advised can buy breakfast direct wz htl euro5 per px. Htl front desk infm best buy brkfast near cafe will be cheaper coffee+crossaint eur2/3.not sure if he meant well or otherwise since we bkd cheap rates. Was provided wz map n infm to come later nxt day if we needed guidance on it.

Arrrive htl n realised annex bldng need to cross 2bridge which was a challenge wz luggage n took 30-40mn frm htl, navigating at 0130am tru semi dark alley.being short staff there is no help wz ur luggage. Was informed htl can arranger porter approx per bag eur50. in room u able see aircon remote n kitchenette he mention n called him. Was infm he has not been to tis part of the bldng for long n cannot leave counter unattended. So were left to figure out the main switch aircon or bear wz the heat till next day. We just checked out from rome staying at 3star (booked tru expedia) n the counter staff were exceptional. When ckng out the morning front staff mentioned he has not time to talk to us as he needs to set breakfast table.

Not sure if the htl management can do something as staff looked overworked,stressed n in extreme pressure!

Expedia consultants should be trained to check on the hotel, locations, distance so they can sell the right property to their customers.

This hotel was very close to the train station and lots of nice restaurants. It was a little shabby (purely an esthetic comment) , but overall it was clean and great for the price. This Hotel is small, old, stinks and the staff is the rudest people you will ever deal with.
Got to my room, it was way smaller than what I paid for, the A/C didn't work in the middle of summer and the place wreaked of mildew. My girl friend was sick for 3 days because of the mold.
Went to the office to ask about the room I booked and about the A/C, the lady in the office claimed to me the general manager and said there was no one above her.
She was down right, RUDE, RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!!
Did I mention she was RUDE?
Pretty much told me tough, you get what you get, and absolutely no refunds, too bad, goodbye.
Horrible experience and pretty much ruined my vacation.

No frills hotel with courteous and friendly manager. Bearing in mind that I was here to see Venice rather than spend all day in my room, the hotel and room met all my needs. Air conditioning worked really well and my room was very quiet. My bed was firm but I like that and slept really well. Some reviews have mentioned that there is no shower curtain but this is because the clean and modern ensuite is in fact a wet room. Stair carpet needs replacing. Free wifi worked really well and the continental breakfast was tasty and filling. Lots of good places to eat near to the hotel and major sights are within 15-35mins walk. A good value-for-money hotel.

Better than expected

The only complaint is no elevator but most hotels in the area are older so it's common. We had a problem with our luggage, and the whole staff was fabulous about helping us. They even arranged for our luggage to be delivered so we didn't have to go get it. It smelled nice, was clean and the breakfast was great.

Pantalon Annex...bedsit more like

The Hotel Pantalon Annex is a small room with bathroom attached about 10 mins walk from the main hotel. One of the hotel staff described it as the \"suite\". I'm sorry but it's a bedsit. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly but one was a complete misery, wouldn't even look up from his paper to look at us.
The Annex was hot when we got there, we had to switch on the air con. The room was dusty and quite dark. The main hotel seemed to forget all about us as we had no service at all while we were there (3 nights).

Very Disappointing with unfriendly staff

Very small room in urgent need of redecoration. The glass on the wardrobe was cracked, the rail fell off when I tried to hang my clothes up and the handle came off in my hand. My wife slipped getting in to he bath to use the shower but when we reported this to the staff and suggested they used a bath mat they were not interested and not in the least sympathetic.

We ended up in an apartment of the hotels that was a 15 minute, unescorted walk through the walkways of Venice. The room was clean & comfortable. Because we were so far from the hotel ... no wifi. :(

worst stay. Very dark room and mosquitoes

The staff were friendly. The hotel was located 10 minutes from the train station and the room was located 10 minutes from the hotel itself. It was in the first floor, but I felt like it was in the basement with two small barred windows. It was very dark even in the daytime. Worst of all, I woke up at 2 am with the mosquito sound. All of us got mosquito bites all over our body. It has a bath tub with a hand held shower only. Very uncomfortable to take a shower. Cannot recommend this hotel. Will not go to Venice in the summer and will not use this hotel.

Hotel well situated in Venice, and good breakfast

the pros are the low price for an hotel directly in Venice with a private bathroom also a good variety of food
for breakfast which is included in the price. The cons are the size of the bedroom which was small and the noise coming from the other bedrooms. But we would go there again because we don't live in the bedroom
very long, it is so full of life in the street all around. We loved Venice! Also the hotel is close from the bus stop Piazza Roma about 10minutes walk, so much fun if you have no problem walking.

Ugly hotel in Venice

We arrived late to Venice, and we have rented the suite. When we arrived was raining and the staff told us, at that time, that the suite was 10 minutes by walking.
The suite it was supposed to be for 4 adults, and was really crowded without any space for the suitcases, 1 queen bed and a sofa, In a 3 x 2,5 mts 2, was a real disaster.

Very disappointed

We booked our room for 3 adults and 1 child. We were told the hotel was on the outside of the building, but nowhere in the fine print did it say a mile away. We had a ton of luggage and a toddler with us so to lug all our luggage that far away was really inconvenient. We also picked this hotel for proximately to the cruise port, the apartment they put us in was actually closer to the port, but the bad part was we had to lug all our luggage back to the main hotel to have them hold our luggage before we left for our cruise. the apartment itself was very clean and spacious, just the distance from the hotel was a disappointment

We stayed in both a room and the suite. The rooms are small but clean and adequate. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry the bags upstairs (welcome to Venice). The suite was separate from the hotel but was outstanding, and included a small kitchen should you be so included to do your own cooking. The suite was much larger.

A shock to a US traveler. Tiny room, no shower curtain, and overall run down. Furniture was nice but had the worst mattress ever. Service was uneven - afternoon staff were nice but morning and over night staff were grumpy. We chose Pantalon for the location, which was great, so overall it was a good stay.

Great location for seeing venice.

The hotel was really good in one way and that was where it was situated -really central - just one minute from the Grand Canal and a waterbus stop, which we used extensively. Another plus was the breakfasts, which although uninspiring were substantial and saved us eating for sometime afterwards. The shower though was not so good, no shower curtain and vastly varying temperature - so much so that I mildly scolded myself the first time I used it and after that I had to have it at luke warm, so as not to do it again. The bathroom was small and cluttered. The bedroom was nice and big (we had the three bed for two of us), and the double bed was large and comfortable. Overall a good place to stay and see such a fabulous city.

Good value and location

This was in an ideal location for me this time - only 5 minutes' walk from the bus station and 10 from the train station. On a proper Venetian calle and close to Campo S Margherita and the Frari church.
Small single room was fine for my needs and comparable to other hotels I have stayed in in Venice. The location made the price better - I've paid a lot more over near S Marco.
Good breakfast and friendly staff.

perfect for short visit

What you look for for a City-Trip. As long as it is clean the Hotel does not matter that much (because you will be there only to sleep). Location is everything. The Pantalon is convinient for sights and easy to get to from airport and train station (In Venice with its sometimes difficult transport very important. You dont want to drag your luggage around.)

We stayed in a room separate from the main hotel called the Monolo suite, so this review is based on that. It was a 5-7 minute walk to the suite. The location was convenient once you figured out how to get around. It was close to a large supermarket, which was nice, and an easy enough walk to the train station. The suite had a small kitchenette (didn't use it), but it looked like it would have been a good thing if you wanted to save money and cook. The mini fridge was convenient for breakfast. The room description said it sleeps 4-6, but there was no way for more than 4. It would have been quite comfortable for 2 people (king bed and a trundle). The other suite in this building looked bigger, so we're wondering why we didn't get that one instead of the smaller one. We think the description for 4-6 people people was actually for the other suite, so be sure to check that carefully. The room was clean enough, but the brick in the bathroom was chipping into the tub and on the floor, so you could feel it when walking around. I think it was a clean place, though, aside from that minor annoyance. One slight problem, and no fault of the hotel, of course, was that there were a ton of mosquitos in the area and we always got some in our room when we were coming and going. If you stay in one of these suites, know that you will be right on the water and may want to take some mosquito repellant.

The hotel was clean. There is no elevator and we had to carry our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs without any help being offered. They make you pay a city tax which is 3 Euro's per person per night which I was not aware of prior to my stay. The bed was slightly uncomfortable. The room was clean however, the bathroom lacked a shower curtain which created a mess of water on the floor. Breakfast is comparable to most hotels in Europe with various breads, cheese, coffee/juice and cereals. It is about a 5-6 km walk to the main square but was fine to walk to with a good map. awesome authentic venice experience

We walked from santa lucia station and took tbe ferry back both easy commutes. We had dinner at twodifferent local restaurants and bothwere very good. Get tbe all day vaporetto water actv pass and it is funto go to san marco andidi for tbe beach and muano for glass blowing. Panta,on is ideally located for this. Staff was so helpful..storing our luggage. Rooftop veranda is pretty. Breakfast is good.

Hotel Pantalon in Venice

This is a room for four people and is located approximately a few blocks from the hotel. We did not mind the fact that the room was separate. We were surprised by the fact that it has a small kitchen with refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. The location is perfect and far away from the noisy and tourist area. It is approximately 15 minutes from the train station. We highly recommend this place.
