We left and didn’t stay shortly after checking in. The room was covered in broken glass and finger nails. The pool on the roof was covered in bird poo plasters and a mound of dirt inside. The pool tiles were broken and missing in most of the pool making it unsafe to use. We requested a refund but were unable to get one even though we left with hours of checking in. We mentioned the cleaning of the pool and room to the staff but nothing was done about it. No that it would have made the pool usable.

The building is in a good location, Metro near by and shops nearby are relatively cheap compared to sultanahmet however some places charge in dollars!
Bedrooms are small
Bathroom is tiny, can barely fit to have a shower!

Staff were friendly and helpful especially Abdul Qadir at reception. Family room for four was a little small. Air conditioning wasn’t brilliant but did cool the room. Breakfast was the same everyday. No variety. Our toilet got blocked and wasn’t working for 2-3 days.

During my recent stay at the Grand Washington Hotel, I found the building to be visually appealing and the location convenient. However, the overall experience fell short of expectations. The rooms were small and the furniture appeared worn and outdated. The staff's proficiency in English was limited, making communication challenging. Despite being classified as a four-star hotel, the amenities and services provided were more in line with a two-star rating. The high room rates did not align with the quality offered, as the air conditioning was subpar and the internet connection slow. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to others.

On day 3, I got tired of the same breakfast. They need more varieties in that area. Food was good. Hotel is conveniently located near main points of interest in Istanbul. We chose it on our second stay but was disappointed by the uncleanliness of the bathroom and one of the comforters provided was full of stain, blood tinged area, and dirty. When I called the reception, they provided me with other blankets. No questions asked. For short stays, it is ideal.

There Internet WiFi services are very poor, there breakfast menu is mostly for local people not used as a continental breakfast such as they don't provide fried eggs or omelette they charged us. When you are travelling with family, your children are required this type of breakfast even though they don't have bread..they used mostly Turkish breakfast not continental.

Just big hotel other things small 😉

The hotel only have good position . Other things are for a hotel for 2*. All day noise from staff and quests so loud. I don't even can say nothing nice only reception ask me are you okey and they were trying to make my stay easier. It's doesn't worsted. I don't like it a all. Take care obout booking it's not cheap it's must be 20eur or less for night.

How Expedia can have such a hotel such as this on the list is beyond me. My passport and may families were taken by hotel staff who refused to give them back to me I had to argue with them before they agreed to hand them over. The room itself was not sound proof and you could hear the other occupants breaking wind. There is no way that this establishment can be rated as a 4 star hotel.I paid £1300 for a weekend break which turned out to be a terrible experience I am now considering never to use Expedia again.

Could do better....

Has potential to be 4 star, but is not at the moment. 2 main issues; variety of meals on half board package is woefully inadequate for a 4star hotel and customer service. Most staff are sad to be there and not welcoming and the health facility staff are outright rude.

With a more varied menu and some serious customer service training this could be a really good hotel.

The location and cleanliness are excellent and Reception staff are helpful.

Grand Washington Hotel

We had 2 connecting rooms booked (so 4 in total) and from the internet pictures it looked idealic.

However, some of the pictures made the rooms and the facilities a lot better than what we found.

We had our bedding changed in 2 rooms but for some reason the other 2 didn't. The view out of one of the rooms was pipework. The shower cubicle had a door missing, so not useable without flooding the floor. The indoor swimming pool was not very big and as it was in the basement, it was dark. My son was not allowed to use the gym as he was under 18 (only just) but this wasn't stated in the website at time of booking.

The view on the roof top was shut at 8pm when we went one evening, even though it has a small pool on it and the website showed an evening view.

Booked an excursion and they turned up a day early. Booked a taxi to the airport and it was 25 minutes late, even though pre arranged and was a hotel taxi

On the plus side, the main road and metro were within a 5 minute walk. The main sites Haq Sophia, The Blue Mosque easily accessible by foot.

If I went to Istanbul again, I would not book this hotel.

don't believe the pictures

small rooms, bathroom very small, you need to do some gymnastic to enter into the toilet.
we were 3 persons, they gave us only one key.
we requested on arrival to change the room, they promised to give a bigger room by tomorrow just after breakfast. they kept promising for 2 days until we were fed up
discotheque in front very noisy the whole night..
the breakfast is not exciting at all

the worst !!!

I have been in most of the hotels in this area this one so far is the worst
the room is small the shower is small and dirty the room was very noisy that you can not sleep from the AC noise from out side

i asked the hotel to give me a bigger room and i will pay but they said they do not have bigger room !!!
how come a hotel does not have bigger room !! !

Reasonable hotel to stay as a tourist

Clean rooms, polite staff, breakfast was nice and plenty to chose from, smaller rooms than what we expected but was manageable, hotel is in the middle of busy area with plenty to do, eat, drink, light metro is about 10 minutes walk, make sure to get IstanbulKart which is very handy, historical Sultanahmet is about 10 minutes by metro. Communication is a bit of a problem but somehow manageable. We would give 3.5 stars to the hotel.

I travel to Istanbul once a month for textiles business, i had visited approximately all of the hotels in Laleli area during this 12 years of my job, but i can say that the worst of them (in this class rate) is Washington hotel. The staff are not helpfull , the breakfast is like as a 3 star hotel, the WIFI is the worst i have seen in my life, room service is terrible as one night i called the room service and I demanded a plate and spoon and the man unbelievingly told me that \"we won't bring plate and spoon to the rooms\"!!!.. As a matter of fact i can say that the only good point of this hotel is the good location due to my business.

Stedet ligger godt midt i det hele.
God service og personalet var hjælpsomme.
Der skulle havde været træningsmuligheder, men det virkede ikke desværre, men der er et steder 500 meter derfra.

Morgen personligt syns jeg der mangler lidt mere frugt.

pour l accueil : au niveau de la réception est correct par contre au niveau de la salle du petit déjeuner c est une catastrophe, pas un bonjour y compris en turc, un sourire, une attention pour les enfants, on vous ignore, sauf si vous parlez turc, si vous ne parlez pas turc on vous dévisage, des fourmis dans les pastèques que j' ai signalé la personne m'a fait comprendre que c'est normal 🙄, à plusieurs reprises déçue de ce qui a été proposé : des céréales pour les enfants avec un goût de périmé, le jus en poudre sans exagéré imbuvable sans parler du café, vous finissez a peine votre assiette qu on se précipite pour vous la prendre et débarrasser, à 10h pile on fait comprendre aux clients que c est fini en éteignant les lumières au dessus des plats,
la chambre : vue sur les toits, les coussins si volumineux qu il est impossible de poser sa tête dessus, le lit des parents trop petit il est clairement fait pour des enfants jusqu'à 1m50, absence d éclairage suffisant dans la chambre pour pouvoir se regarder en se préparant, le siège très bas par rapport au miroir c'était incroyable je n' avais jamais vu ça 😂 dans la salle de bain aucun article de douche habituel dans un hôte et sans compter les serviettes rêche.
la piscine sur le toit, c'est un mensonge ça relève plus d' une pataugeoire, cela faisait partie de me critères et j' ai payé pour ça c'est une publicité mensongère,conclusion comment Expedia peut laisser cet hôtel en 4 étoiles malgré commentaires des clients ?

J'ai passé un séjour agréable dans cet hôtel. C'est un hôtel très propre et confortable. On a une vue incroyable de tout istanbul au dernier étage, une piscine et un espace de détente.
Le personnel est très sympathique et serviable.
le petit déj est bien mais l'équipe est très stressante
