The hotel is in an excellent location. We were greeted by Mustafa, whose cheerful attitude and English were perfect. The rest of the staff were lovely too! As people said, the reception looks a little outdated, but I am not sure why that matters. The room was perfectly clean and the bathroom was very recently renovated (yes, it is a wet room but with the heating in the room it dries within 30 minutes). A mini fridge is in the room so it is a plus! The room was quiet, clean, warm with great mattresses and bedding. The hotel is a gem for the location, the service you get and the price! Next time we are in Munich we will look no further, but book it again straight away! :)

I enjoyed just about everything about my stay at Montree Hotel. No breakfast was offered, but the staff was friendly across the board and responsive from check in to check out. Reasonably priced providing value for money, a short tram ride away from the Old Town and many other points of interest.

The bed was a bit too firm my taste but that’s a personal preference and in no way detracts from my opinion that this is a good place to stay if you want to be close to, but not necessarily in the middle of everything.

The rooms mirrors advertisement. Very small, however the point of a holiday is to be out exploring. The room met the intended purpose.

The owners and their dogs were very friendly. I appreciated the hotel and neighborhood was very quiet at night.

For one night it was great. Nice and cheap. 15 minute walk to the main train station, but was close to a park that had some homeless people, although they didn’t really bother anyone and kept to themselves. It was however a 30 minute walk into old town, which is where majority of people speak English and the main restaurants are. Overall, for what I needed, which was a shower and a bed, it was a great price.

So, yes, the hotel is very dated and drab. The room isn’t so inviting when you arrive at night as the lighting is very low too. The cobwebs up by the curtain rail were off putting also. However, this is my second stay here, and I must say that in regards to cleanliness of the linen, bed, bathroom, the hotel does really well. I did notice a faint odour of cigarettes this time though which was disappointing.
The gentleman on reception was extremely welcoming and pleasant, which is rare these days, so a big shout out to him. In terms of price and location it’s great.
Just don’t expect luxury, if you’re staying for one or two nights, it’s fine if you’re on a budget and want your own room instead of a hostel.

Very dated hotel!
For the price paid you could get nicer accommodations.
Also there was a smell of Indian food on every through the stay in the reception area and the floor smelled like cigarettes although it’s a nonsmoking hotel.
The floor in the room is an old carpet which is in todays world not standard and hygienic anymore.

The hotel was OK.
Clean, small rooms, with friendly and helpful staff.
They let us keep our stuff at the hotel before the check in and after the check-out. All perfectly safe.

Not the prettiest and not the fanciest ober all but you get what you pay for.

It's a 15 minute walk to the centre of Munich, and there's a lot to eat around.

The location was great as we went for Oktoberfest so it was only a 15 minute tram ride, and the tram station is right outside the building. The bathrooms are outdated, very small shower with curtains. Shower head did not come off the holder and it was very low, so hard to shower. There was a small spider in the room as well and dust in some areas.

First impressions was that it was in need of an update. I booked here for 2 nights based on its proximity to the stadium for the gig I was going to. I arrived ahead of check-in time and they got me into the room no problem as I needed to take a work call. The chair for the desk was threadbare and uncomfortable for longer than 5mins. The room was small but I didn't need anything bigger for just me. The bed was comfortable - I had a great night's sleep! The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

The room we had on the first night was old and needed to refurbished , we asked for another room and they moved us the second night to a refurbished room that was beautifully done . Only complaint was as it was warm and with it being on the street frontage it was a bit noisy with the window open but we still got enough sleep

My reservation couldn't be found at reservation, but the receptionist was very helpful and finally found it after pulling some tricks in their it system.
The hotel is not very clean and you expect a higher standard för 114 euro per night in a non central location. But the staff are very helpful and wonderful. The hotel gets a 2 and the staff a 5.

This was a very last minute stay, and was chosen for it's close proximity to the train station and affordability. For this reason, obviously it is not going to be a 5 star experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and reasonably sized. The building is just very old. The red carpet throughout the room had definitely seen better days. Overall, it was a good place to stay in a pinch.

I would pay more for a better hotel.

The area around the hotel is average. I was quite surprised to find a twin bed with two separate small comforters. I was equally surprised to find the shower in the common area of the bathroom. The thought of the water washing away from around the toilet while I showered was very unsettling.

Woof. Not as advertised, but great staff.

The staff was great and very helpful and kind. That said.. the room was *not* as advertised online and was extremely disappointing almost to a comical level.

Most of the photos show renovated rooms, and the non-renovated rooms shown in the photos were MUCH nicer looking than what our room was. Carpet peeling up from the ground, unreliable lights, shower sprayed everywhere in the bathroom (no curtain), fridge smelled like it was sitting in an alley for months, no wall paneling or headboard for the bed as shown in the listing photos, etc.

This was during Oktoberfest, so the room was much more expensive than usual (we were in town for a wedding, not Wiesn), so that made it even more frustrating.

The location is great, just a short tram ride into central Munich. The room is smaller than it looks and the walls are thin as you can heat your neighbour in the next room. I had the breakfast only once as it was expensive and there are plenty of places within walking distance. Staff are happy to answer your questions. Would stay here again.

Every moment spent in the hotel room was a reminder that the walls were thin as paper. In the morning we woke up to a male neighbor being sick in the restroom for an hour or more. Each door opening and closing, each individual walking and talking in the hallway sounds as if it is in your personal room. The room had one outlet in the living space and one in the bathroom. This is not ideal when you have to use European outlet converters to charge phones, watches and medical devices. The room was stuffy and there was no ceiling fan or fan provided. Also no iron or steamer and no hair dryer. I was forced to leave for daily events with soaking hair in 40 degree weather. The room did not have a door tag for service. We requested a tag and did not receive a tag. Finally on the fourth day our beds were turned but we did not receive fresh towels, a garbage change, or removal of a pizza box, fresh glasses, or dirty coffee cups. We had to place the trash in the hallway to clean our own room. The initial morning a female attendant told us breakfast was complimentary. However the second day a kitchen attendant told us we were being charged for breakfast. Also the picture on the website is not an accurate description of the hotel appearance.

Decent location in midtown Munich.

Close to shops and some restaurants. Close to the tram station. Decent breakfast buffet with good price. Basic room and amenities. Good for the basic accommodating traveler. But not for the exquisite traveler. All in all, I would recommend for someone with a decent buggy will get there money's worth.

I booked the Hotel through Hotels.com and had a confirmation email from them number 8051575447554. Unfortunately Hotels.com did no get confirmation from the hotel and when I arrived they were fully booked. The receptionist was very helpful ringing round trying to find a room in Munich for some time but with no success. I ended up sleeping on a bench in the airport.

Montree Hotel Review

It has very thin walls. You can hear everything happening next door. The hallways smelled of smoke.I guess it is fairly clean, though because it is quite old there were old stains in the bathroom and peeling wall paint.
They disregard do not disturb signs on your door and clean your room anyway. Leave windows open in your room during winter.

It is close to a tram station and if you want you can walk 20-30 mins to Munich Central Train station.

Jus needed somewhere to rest our heads whilst on a 3 night stay in Munich primarily to watch football match. hotel was spot on for our needs, though in middle of being got ready for Oktober fest with most corridors filled with new mattresses and the the rooms in need of a sprucing up the hotel was well placed close all the things we wanted, drinking places and restaurants, train station and the olympic stadium just up the road. breakfast was good and our friendly night porter kept the bar open until we had done. reasonably priced for our stay though like all Munich hotels the prices were about to rocket for the beer festival about to commence

Good Clean Hotel In Downtown Munich

The Hotel is right on the 20 trolley line less than 100m from the stop. The 20 will take you to the Hauptbahnhof in 10 minutes and then you can get anywhere. The rooms are small but clean and open onto a court yard. I kept my window open and the noise and city bustle was minimal. The breakfast is good and the eating area is clean.

I never put reviews online as I am quite magnanimous when it comes to giving people a second chance. However, I am visiting Munich on a regular basis, due to business reasons and I have found quite large discrepancies between paper descriptions and reality, hence the need to clarify what I found. Whilst the staff were very nice, the hotel is very worn down. The room is extremely small and the fridge which happened to be one of the reasons I chose this hotel over another one, stopped working after one day only. The fridge was also very smelly, even before it stopped working. The surroundings are pretty good as you have LIDL supermarket almost opposite the hotel and there are number of small supermakets around, as well as backerei. All in all, I will never get back to this hotel.

I booked this hotel online and the pictures seemed like this place was good. However, the pictures do no to do justice. There is no AC and internet only in the lobby. The breakfast is separate and you are charged for it and the rooms are tiny beyond belief. I thought I was getting a bargain for the price and location but I know now to just suck it up and pay more.

Given that we visited during Oktoberfest, the cost per night was a lot higher than usual. In saying this, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel. It was in a great location; about a 15-20 minute walk to town, but there was a tram stop only a minute away - very convenient. The room itself was a good size, comfortable beds with good quality bedding and the room, whilst older, was well maintained and very clean. The only 'negative' was that it was quite hot in our room and there was no fan, but with the window open the road noise kept us well awake. Overall the hotel was good value for money, at normal off-peak rates.

Grim, but doesn't pretend to be otherwise.

Located on a busy road (cars, buses and trams), if assigned a front room be prepared to bring ear plugs! The hotel, which I booked based solely on price and location (close to where friends were staying), has seen better days. Door fittings hanging off, halls smelling of smoke, loud, inconsiderate neighbours, an ensuite bathroom too small to swing an anorexic cat in, with inconsistent hot and cold water and an overflowing grey water floor drain. You get the picture. Avoid unless you have a hard constitution or v limited budget. Or if you're deaf.

I am not sure where they got these photos or length of time to photo shop these photos. THe hotel DID NOT look this clean or well lit!!!! when i checked in the guy checking me in WAS NOT helpful one bit, even when i gave them a reasonable time to clean room the room was NOT done when i checked in. When i went back downstairs to inform reception, he acted upset that i tried checking in 20 minutes to their check time of 3pm, and was trying to check in too early as the maid was not given a reasonable time to clean room! I left my bag at the hotel at 8 am and left to explore the city until 2pm and tried checking in at 2:40 and walked into a dishevaled bed, beer and cigarette smells! Even after the maid cleaned the room, the sheets and pillowcase had not been changed and still smelled of the previous occupants stench. The smell in the room did not improve. Walking down the hall to my room was so disturbing to me that i slept with the chair propped up against the door. BRING your OwN shampoo and soap as what is provided is less than a sample sized item from a cosmetic counter.

Great man at the Desk

Young man at the reception desk make the hotel great. He is from Portugal and speaks 5 or six languages perfectly, including English.
He helped make up for the elevator not working and we had a room on the 5 (6) floor.
Great hotel for the price. Manageable walk from train station.

We stayed at four hotels on our European road trip 3 were outstanding, one The Montree was terrible. We were chastised at the front desk when seeking assistance in filling out a guest registry card. The experience went down hill from there when we observed dirty hallway carpets on the way to the room where the carpet was equally dirty and scuff marks on most wall surfaces, sorely in need of re-painting. The bed linens in fairness seemed clean. We slept there and left the room with as little contact with the room and its contents as possible.

The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of the main station, and if you're feeling lazy there's a tram stop right outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there's a cheap & extensive breakfast offered. Unfortunately the room we had was very run down. The sink had a big crack in it as did one of the mirrors and an electrical socket was attached to the wall with sellotape! Until they smarten up the rooms I wouldn't stay there again and couldn't recommend it more than a place to crash on a drinking weekend.

Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo

Hotel economico e senza pretese, molto pulito e ben collegato con il centro di Monaco. Le stanze sono piccole ma ho apprezzato la presenza di tavolo, tv e divanetto. Personale molto disponibile. Consigliato.
