This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel I also stayed there in 2015, the last time I was in Florence. On this occasion there were seven adults, and everyone enjoyed the stay, tremendously. It is a charming building. The staff are very helpful. The breakfast was great. There is a nearby supermarket should you have any needs. I will recommend this hotel to my friends without hesitation.

The check in is the fastest among the hotels we stayed: they took a photo of our passports and then give us the key. The hotel is about two blocks away to bus stops. So it is convenient. The only thing is that we also have to walk a couple of blocks to find restaurants.

The hotel was very good and situated close to the main attractions. The staff were all very helpful and made our stay very easy. The buffet breakfast was excellent including cereals, toast, croissants cold meat and cheeses and cooked eggs. The garden was very tranquil and lovely to sit in at the end of a day sightseeing.

This is a bed and breakfast style hotel located in an old residence (with some fascinating history). The vibe is “19th century diplomat’s compound” which a lot of people will love and some may not. It’s definitely not conventional in any way, but it’s an ornate and distinctive building located walking distance to the city center. Staff was also great. If you don’t like boring sterile hotels, this is your place.

The location is walkable from a lot of tour attractions. The building has a lot of history, thus it may be unfair to compare this property with other new and model hotel. But the property still need a lot of upgrade. Depends on your preference. The staffs are nice.

The lock was broken, but the problem was quickly fixed. There were also problems with the hairdryer. very small parking lot. Breakfast was ok. Quite far from attractions. Towels and linen are clean and rooms are cleaned. There is no elevator, so if you have to carry large luggage on yourself

The hotel was recommended by close friends. However, we were disappointed. At check-in we were not given much information, and it took us a day to discover that there was a living room with tea and coffee facilities. Our room was okay, but generally \"tired,\" in the sense that we felt it well past its prime. Fittings in the bathroom - including shower screen handles - were broken or missing. Our feeling was that the ground floor and second floor had great character, but that beyond that, it was dated. In addition, with no lift, hauling bags up several flights of stairs was a challenge. The front desk was hit and miss and depended who was on it, with the younger staff most helpful. We did mention to one of these younger people that we were disappointed with the room. Overall, our feeling is that for our next visit to Florence we would probably choose a different hotel.

As soon as we arrived we were told we would be switching rooms the following day. Due a wall caving in somewhere in the hotel.
Our new room was 3 flights higher, on the noisy street, dark, dingy, with moldy bathroom and a tiny shower. I asked if I could stay in original room as I have planters fasciitis and the stairs would be difficult. I was told no that someone else needed the room

Beautiful room for family of four with two bedroom apartment right outside main building, great space for myself, wife, and two kids. Parking right in front of room, although tight, was as promised. Just make sure you realize hotel is in a restricted area so don't drive right to hotel, find the parking first. Area is great, a bit of a walk to tourist area, but makes it easy to drive to and quieter at night. Beautiful property, gorgeous facility. Highly recommend.

The hotel was built in 1869 as the British embassy, and is a beautiful hotel. It feels like one is in Europe rather than a generic box, and the staff are very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is all we wanted and more. Our room was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. We were delighted!

Great little boutique hotel, close enough to the major sights of Florence to walk to. Had three memorable meals at restaurants we could walk to as well. Good breakfast in the AM included. Nice semi private patio out our French doors for wine in the evening before dinner. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Bedbug bites and no response from hotel

We had a generally nice stay. The hotel was aesthetically pleasing if a little shabby. The breakfast left a bit to be desired, lack of plates and cups and cutlery as much as budget food and absent staff. What really left a lasting impression though was bedbug bites. We have had to spend time and money cleaning our luggage and praying that they didn't hitch a ride.

We emailed the hotel management and received no response. TBH a refund of the room rate wouldn't have been unreasonable, given the situation. So sadly our advice is a clear AVOID.

I was astonished when walked inside of this hotel. The interior space was filled with elegant furnitures and decorations which are of antique styles (they might be real antiques). The room we had was big, which had a corridor. We walked through the corridor to reach our bedroom. It was very clean everywhere. The room in the winter was not warm enough but I still felt cozy after I was covered with comforter. The breakfast was plentiful. They don't have elevator but hotel staff will help to carry the luggage to the second floor. It was a unique and fantastic experience.

Very close to a little park for kids, teens and families. It’s about fifteen to twenty minutes walking to the Piazza della signora and the Duomo. The room I had was right next to the garden and was by far the most charming room I have ever stayed in. The hotel staff were so polite and friendly and the food was also great. Definitely worth a try.

Confirm parking availability before you book.

One of the biggest reasons we booked was the parking availability and walkability. However, when we arrived, they said their parking lot was full. We had to wait until the ZTL allowed us to drive into the area (after 4pm) and find street parking. It got us off to a stalled trip, but we were able to find good street parking and we didn't get a ticket.

Overall, the room was nice and the breakfast was fine. I'd probably look around at different hotels if we visit Florence again, but wouldn't rule out staying here... pending parking availability of course. If parking is not an issue for you, it's a fine hotel to stay at.

My daughter was attacked by bedbugs. It was awful and affected our entire trip to Italy. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel restaurants dishes and silverware were dirty and the breakfast was dreadful. Big thumbs down.

Jo Jo was evcellent, but other staff was very stiff. They would not go out of their way to be friendly or helpful. Never rude, but no personality or charisma. Jo Jo went out of his way to make our stay wonderful and filled out a mao showing us the best restaurants and sights
Bed was harder than i am used to, and fireplace must be used in the winter, because we could smell remnants.
Rooms are older, but charming and clean. They are also pretty sizable.
Dont take this as a bad review. This hotel is nice. I am not sure, but I think the culture is one that waits, out of respect, before being helpful or polite.

I really had a great experience at the Hotel Villa Liana.

I found the hotel front desk manager - Leart ...very helpful and going the extra mile to make the stay comfortable. I was allowed an early check in ...instead of sticking to the rule of check in only by 2pm. The fact that he did it with a smile...and had the room totally ready...made the tiredness of my journey just disappear in seconds..
The location of the hotel is great and just walking distance from the city centre. Would totally recommend the hotel to anybody who is looking for good service / good location and value for money.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Villa Liana. It had personality and was not like a chain were everything is the same. We was in the annex and the air conditioning worked a treat, a blessing as it was hot when there. Breakfast was continental but good, there was something there for everyone.

The room we stayed in was huge. It had a foyer and large bathroom with a deep soaker tub. The ceilings were very tall and we had a garden terrace. It was a charming hotel that was very comfortable to stay in. The breakfast room was pretty and the food was plentiful and the coffee great. I would stay here again but I would opt for another floor. I did not like that our terrace door overlooked what appeared to be a maintenance tent/shed?! You couldn't keep did not like that our terrace door open as there were men going in and out of it. I recommend the hotel block that area from the view of that room for more privacy.

I was very pleased with this very lovely \"boutique\" hotel. The staff were very helpful and lovely. I was unhappy with the first room I was given, for a very long stay (12 days), and after a few days during a very busy season they were able to change me without charge to a much larger room. The breakfast was also lovely (eggs, cheeses, meats, all types of cereals and baked goods, etc) and so was the breakfast room. Altogether lovely, especially if it will not bother you to be in a quieter area, five minute walk to a lively piazza and restaurants and fifteen minutes walk to the historic center.

Wonderful location and great ambiance

The Liana Villa Hotel has lovely old touches such as painted ceilings in most bedrooms, mosaic tile floors and painted furniture. It is located a few blocks from the central synagogue, Ruth's kosher restaurant and the Chabad House where kosher meals can be obtained (with pre-reservation) for Shabbat. The rooms vary widely in size, so if that's important to you, ask to see the room before checking in. Breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room upstairs, and there is an adjacent sitting room where one can have tea or coffee almost any time of day. The only problems to report are sluggish service at breakfast (which is served buffet style---items run out and are not replenished quickly) and the long flight of stairs to the upper floor. Parking is available in back of the hotel, with a small adjacent garden that is a pleasant place to sit.

This hotel is in a beautiful older building with painted ceilings and chandeliers. The rooms are spacious though the shower is a little small for a larger man. The WiFi was not working on the top floor when we arrived, but the hotel fixed this problem by our third day. The breakfast is better than average with cappuccino or espresso as well as eggs, meats, cheeses, and fruits. The walk from the center of town can be tiresome after a long day of site seeing, but the C2 bus line drops you off a very short distance from the hotel. I recommend taking the C2 from the train station rather than walking to the hotel from the station. If you drive, the hotel is convenient and has available parking. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend the property.

The hotel is honestly one of the most charming I have been to. We stayed on the second floor and had a huge balcony the had old double wooden doors opening into our room and a cute bathroom. The room was spacious and clean and had a beautiful mural covering an entire wall of our hotel. There is no doubt that the furniture is old and the mattresses are not the most comfortable but the hotel is so charming and the area around it was simply amazing that it is truly worth it. The balcony and room were so quaint I honestly felt as if I was staying in a museum. Also it was a very short walk to the Duomo and the walk to and from is through very charming squares and neighborhoods. I would absolutely recommend to anyone going to Florence.

I was most impressed with the hotel as soon as I stepped in from the street with it's lovely reception hall and friendly attendant! The hotel has the Grand elegance of a bye-gone age with painted ceilings and wrought iron staircases. The room was tastefully furnished and comfortable and nice and airy.
