Very clean and spacious room and clean bathroom, Very quiet and a 30minute walk from the main train station and most of the the attractions in the city. There was a nice continental breakfast too and the room was made available early for checking in as we had arrived earlier than expected. There were a number of restaurants and cafes nearby

My flight got delayed so I showed up late around 10:30p at the hotel on Tue, Nov 11 2025. The front desk was so so so rude that he was mad at me that he asked me why I came in late and I explained to him that my flight got delayed. I apologized him several times and he he was staring at me and said \"Sorry, Sorry, sorry.. Sorry for what?\" He also said he would not want to accept me next time. He treated me like a homeless guy or garbage. I felt so embarrassing. He asked me to pay 9 euro for city tax and I gave him a 20 euro bill and he was so mad and raised his voice \"I want exact 9 euro\" Luckily I was able to find some changes to sum up to 9 euros. It was a most terrible experience that I I had ever had at hotel in my life. Why in the world there is a service man who treats customer terribly like that? I was so sad.

The balcony view is amazing.... Totally worth it the inner garden with lemon trees and a big cypress on the adjacent property the balcony has a roll up tent. Also a cute ginger cat!

Disappointed in this hotel, despite advertising they have multi lingual staff, free onsite parking and valet parking, they don’t have any of these. The rooms are clean and the terrace was nice to sit on but the whole place is generally fairly old and run down.

Shocking absolutely not as advertised unsafe for solo travellers no lounge no bar as advertised. Staff rude, dirty do not speak . Refused a refund. Put on the phone to a random person who told me to Fox off!!
Stay away!!!
I would doubt any of the reviews are genuine.
No point did I feel safe? This place needs to be removed from Hotels.com if you’re a single female travelling alone do not go anywhere near it.

At my request my room was on a low floor because I knew in advance that there wasn’t an elevator. This made my stay much more comfortable.
The hotel is a 25 minute walk (almost completely flat) to the historic area. Very convenient location.

Very little communication, couldn’t even sleep there one of the nights because we were locked out and no one will give you the code when you check in you have to ask. The second night I was woken up to banging on the front door at 3 am by another couple people being locked out. They had the key code and it still didn’t work. Bathrooms are not clean. Spent a lot of money just to sleep outside the first night, the next day when we finally got into bed we only had a few hours of sleep before the staff was unlocking our door and trying to come in while we were asleep. Very unprofessional 0/10. Don’t stay here, the Casaldo’s rooms next door is way better and let us sleep in their spa because they had no rooms for the night and kept us off the street.

The hotel was not in bad condition and the breakfast was decent. Staff were friendly for most part. The hotel is a long walk from the city center, but a train station and bus options are nearby. The biggest problem is that they did not let me use the air conditioner. The lady at reception told me that by Florence law air conditioning cannot be used until June. I was on the third floor and there was a ceiling window I had to open to be able to sleep. Because of that mosquitoes ate me. Really concerned about catching a vector disease. My mattress was wet the day I arrived. I think the window was open and it rained. Bathroom drain smelled. There is a code to enter the property after hours and it took several tries to get in. First time it happened, I panicked thinking I was going to sleep on the street.

Upon arrival there were no rooms available, overbooked. Staff mentioned that there is no internet access, hence, no Fax/ copy machine access. They aren’t aware when rooms are available or not.
Shame on Expedia that allows these type of Hotels available to people. It’s a ripe off. Charged me for the room for all those days. Expedia states that’s their policy? Conchetta, front desk drove us to another Hotel, is that their policy too? Very Disappointed!! I will never ever use Expedia again nor look at this terrible Hotel! After traveling for many hours the least you want to hear is that there is no room for you after you made the reservation.

Property is old and uncomfortable, furniture ripped. We were greeted by a senoir lady laying on the lobby sofa who spoke no english.
Bed was a 6\" springs mattress on a platform

We are experienced travelers and we’re expecting an authentic experience when reserving this hotel. We checked in late, arriving after a long flight. The person in the front desk was very unpleasant and didn’t provide more than a one word answer. Sometimes leaving us guessing what he means. There was no language barrier. It was strange altogether.
The morning person wasn’t better.
The only good part was the nice breakfast crew.

The room was very basic. NO AIR CONDITIONER!!
The shower was a tight squeeze with the toilets close to accordion doors that were part of the shower. It was not comfortable to say the least.

I truly believe that if the front desk persons were a bit nicer the entire room/shower/no AC would have been a bit more bearable.

We recently stayed here for our honeymoon for just over a week and absolutely loved it. It was so homey, so comfortable and a bonus was the amazing staff. Everyone was so nice and so helpful. We did arrive a little earlier than our check in time and they offered to keep our luggage so we could start exploring the city until our room was available. It’s easily in walking distance from some of the most beautiful spots in the city and some great shopping, dining and site seeing. We loved the balcony which also was overlooking the back garden area. 10/10 would recommend for a quaint and cozy stay.

Liked the court yard and lime tree at our balcony. Breakfast was ok. It was really dissapointing that no one was speaking any English or French as advertised so we could not communicate at all. Bathroom was really outdated and not very clean, especially the toilett and the towels have seen better days too. The bed was uncomfortable, you could feel the springs in the mattress. I would not go back and do not recommend this hotel/villa.

Worst customer service at hotel ever.

I don’t like to write a bad review but does greeting a guest with a hello or smile cost anything? It got worse - the man on reception didn’t believe me, my daughter, her passport or Google when i said she was 11 years old (12 and over pay city tax). He insulted and upset us by insisting that she was 12 years and that I should pay the city tax, pretending he didn’t understand english to add to the embarrassing situation . Well he definitely did understand because I asked him what time and where breakfast was and he replied in perfect english (another disappointment - he deliberately didn’t want to tell us when or where breakfast was). If he is a staff member I would not keep him and if he is the manager then good luck to the business because I would warn against staying here and would never stay again. Also they take the key from you when you leave to hang in reception and you can’t leave after 11pm . Controlling the key and times in and out is ridiculous. I didn’t feel comfortable to leave the hotel or to stay. Tips to the reception staff member: smile! You are representing your hotel and city, learn some maths, respect your guests.

Terrible!!!! Wifi did not work. Towels were shredded with strands of fiber hanging off due to age. Then hotel double billed me i already paid in full! Then when checking out man could not get credit card to work...said if i dont pay cash he will call the police!!!! Wasted half an hour with this nonsense. The room itself is in the Basement!!! Grafity on walls in neighborhood! Avoid like the plague.

This is an old hotel that could do with some tlc. It's picture is a little flattering. There is no elevator and I was on the 3rd floor. The room was sparse and none of the three bulbs over the bathroom mirror worked. However it was clean, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

Window was a fanlight without curtains and full moon kept me awake all night. Bed was tiny - child size. too far out of main area and no restaurants nearby. Dinner the first night was a pastry. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The room smelt really bad. Thank God I didn’t have to spend much time in there as I was out most of the day and I would spray the room and shower room before getting to sleep. Has to keep the bath room doo shut all the time because it seemed the smell came from the drains. The staff look like they would rather be elsewhere. One man had a go at me for to close the door. They are not friendly at all. I had a basement room, there is no lift so and you get no offer of help with your bags. Keys are given to you at reception and you are pointed to the direction of your room. Breakfast is so basic. I will not be staying there again.

The bed was very comfortable and so was the shower. The only inconvenience was getting the bathroom floor all wet during shower but extra towels were provided to make it dry afterwards. The reception service was ok. Not very friendly though. Just basic service even speaking Italian with them. Breaksfast was simple but ok for the price paid for our stay. Safe neighboirhood and close to the city center. About a 20-30 minute walk.

We found this hotel to be homey and fun. The wonderful family that operates the hotel were extremely nice, breakfast was great, and there is a wonderful garden that was quiet and peaceful where I had my tea every morning after breakfast. The family speaks limited English and I speak very limited Italian, but we were able to communicate just fine.

When we arrived in the evening the Receptionist spoke very little English (and sadly we speak practically no Italian) so initially there was a little confusion about our booking. But this was soon resolved and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The buffet breakfast was much better than in most Italian Hotels.
Future travellers should be aware that there is no lift. Old or disabled travellers may have problems with the 55 steps from the top floor down to the breakfast room, so request a room on the basement or ground floor levels. But we enjoyed our stay very much.

Very nice for the price

I'd say this motel was just average, but the price was very affordable which is why we stayed there. Rooms were simple but clean, and the balcony was very nice. Location was great - as long as you don't mind a 30 min walk to the center of the city it's a nice compromise between being somewhere closer but more expensive / touristy, and being too far outside the city. Overall pretty satisfying. I wouldn't mind staying there again.

close enough to the duomo

This location was about a 10-15\" walk to the duomo. There are several bus stops that range from a 2-4\" walk if you know which bus to take to get to your destinations. The room was clean and adequate for a 2 night stay. There is also a shared balcony but keep the doors closed if you want to avoid mosquito bites. The slow moving lady that greeted us generally is laying on a couch near the reception desk. She speaks italian only and is very nice however. They also mixed up whether our reservation included a free breakfast which wasn't impressive at all. It included some store bought pound cake, yogurt, tea, water, 2 types of juices, and coffee/cappucino. The capuccino and coffee were the best part of tge breakfast. The old man who manages the checkout process was helpful to getting us to the trainstation via bus. Luckily, there is a grocery store (5\" walk) and a great restaurant we found in florence called edi house (about a 7\" walk).

• street parking (scarce; take first available white spot on the one way street in front of hotel)

The primary attraction of this hotel is that it is reasonably priced and is located close to the attractions in Firenze (about a 25 minute easy walk to the Duomo).

Arriving by car is perplexing, since there are many one-way streets (it feels like you are making an endless series of left turns - but the GPS got us there.

Limpieza muy buena, hay escalera para llegar en las habitaciones, el personal: la mujer nos atendio muy bien, pero el hombre tenia mala cara y no era nada amable. Hemos pedido informacion de restaurante cercano y nos contestó mal, dijo para buscarnos en google. Y que en la esquina habia una pizzeria.

Pontos positivos: cama confortável, quarto grande e café da manhã razoavelmente bom (café, croassant, pão, queijo, iogurte e um bolo). Localização próxima a estação de trem (aproximadamente 5 minutos de caminhada). Atendimento da senhorinha que fica na recepção na parte da tarde foi muito bom.

Pontos que não gostamos: box do banheiro é montável, molha muito e é desconfortável. O principal ponto negativo foi ter que pagar 5 euros por noite para ter o ar condicionado.

Delar av personalen behöver gå på charmkurs

Vid ankomst så möttes vi av en extremt arrogant, otrevlig och absolut inte hjälpsam portier. Vissa eluttag och sängbelysningen fungerade inte. Dagen efter däremot möttes vi av en glittrande glad kvinna istället. Läget var helt ok med tanke på priset.

Un fantastico hotel 2 stelle a Firenze: Villa iCastagno

Siamo stati piacevolmente sorpresi dal nostro soggiorno all'Il Casteletto a Firenze. Questo hotel 2 stelle offre un servizio e un trattamento di alta qualità. Il personale è stato molto cordiale e disponibile, ci siamo sentiti a nostro agio. Le camere erano pulite e confortevoli, con tutto ciò che ci serviva.
La colazione è stata un'esperienza deliziosa. La scelta era ampia e comprendeva molti prodotti tipici italiani, come cornetti e brioches freschi, marmellata e altri dolci. I cornetti e le brioches erano freschi e squisiti.
La posizione dell'hotel è ideale, a pochi passi dal centro storico di Firenze. Il centro città è raggiungibile a piedi in circa 30 minuti e molte delle principali attrazioni turistiche sono facilmente raggiungibili a piedi. Per visitare luoghi più lontani, come il Piazzale Michelangelo, consigliamo di utilizzare l'autobus hop-on hop-off.
Un aspetto molto apprezzato dell'hotel è la sua atmosfera accogliente e amante degli animali. L'Il Casteletto ha un gatto di nome Tommy, che è stato molto affettuoso e ci ha fatto compagnia durante il nostro soggiorno. Il personale è stato molto gentile con il nostro gatto e ci ha fatto sentire a casa.Abbiamo notato che alcune recensioni negative parlavano di problemi con il servizio, ma per noi non è stato così. L'hotel è gestito da una famiglia e il personale parla italiano, il che è normale in Italia. A questo prezzo, non ci si può aspettare un servizio mult
