The room was nice and spacious. The shower and sink are in the room, which is unique and a nice feature when staying in a hotel that has shared bathrooms (there is also a shower in the shared bathroom). The shared bathrooms were clean and well kept, and the staff were very kind! The receptionist gave us a map of Florence and pointed out/circled recommended things to do. We also got replacement shampoo and soap everyday. Would recommend!

After being robbed in Rome and waiting to get our temporary passport, we came to Florence and was welcomed with details of local attractions and transportation tip and basically everything in walking distance. Can’t be better stay in center of Florence and … be safe. At US consulate, there were people being robbed and their safe and luggage being took away with all the money and passports… this is a home away from home with sense of secure and extremely clean and convenient.
We extended our stay again and again :)

We stayed at Hotel Masaccio for three nights during our visit to Florence. It is walkable to all of the sites. But if you’d rather not walk, the number 12 bus is right in front of the hotel and the number 11 bus will bring you back. We found the hotel to be charming, with a nice little dining area and balcony. The room was very clean and comfortable. Most of all it is a very affordable option and extremely convenient. I highly recommend the Hotel Masaccio.

The hotel manager was very pleasant, supportive and helpful eg when I couldn’t open the lock to my luggage. As described there was a shower and basin in the room but shared toilet (which also had a sink n shower cubicle). The busy road was straight outside the room’s high up window. Connection to the railway station via bus is good. The walk into the centre of Florence takes say 20 minutes.

I spent only 2 nights here and what I saw of the area was quiet safe and friendly. It seemed to be an old part of town away from the tourist haunts. The lady manager and daughter and staff were very helpful. No lift and room in the top floor was a little inconvenient but overall a very nice stay.

Lovely little room, compact but everything we needed with private short and toilet. 10/15 minute walk into the centre. We had a room on the front of the hotel so on the main road, a little noisy but didn't notice anything when wore earplugs. Staff were really friendly and helpful, we would stay again.

located right outside of ZTL zone so you can park your car near by, and 15 mins walk into center of florence.
room is not in great condition. No safe. no water for the room, no coffee no tea no fridge, not even kettle.
when try to borrow things from kitchen or leave somethings in the hotel fridge, they wont let you stating a thousand rules and reason why.
carrying luggages up the stairs was a serious work out.
staff was polite but unhelpful and unfriendly.

Nice stay if you're staying only one night. If going in the summer, pay extra and get a hotel with AC. A fan was given, I was still sweating at night. This place might be ok in the winter , hard to sleep in the summer. No cafe places around, so difficult trying to find coffee in the morning. Even though we didn't leave door open for long the mosquitoes still got into the room. Staff was every helpful and room was clean. As an overweight American around 190 pounds, bathroom was extremely extremely small! Spend extra get a hotel with AC and within the main center.

Really friendly receptionist- our room was lovely and clean. Central location. No air con but the fan did the job for the most part ,room still quite hot though. Lovely terrace where we sat and had a coffee , warning the ‘coffee/tea in the common area‘ isn’t free (as it says in property description). Also water from taps was drinkable but warm.

Staff was helpful, some rooms are not air conditioned (not mentioned in website). These rooms became extremely hot in summer since rooms have huge glass windows and you cannot open them due to mosquitoes problem. So, I would recommend confirming the room with AC or not before booking.

I went here in winter. The place was really cold. I got a cold at first night at this hotel and totally destroyed my Florence trip. The AC system had problem and also the radiators were off at the day time. When I asked the manager to turn on the radiator, he said \"in Italy we turn off the radiators during the day and if you have problem go to another hotel.\"

Very cheap. Accommodating and responsive staff. I wanted a cheap place to stay that was no more than a half hour's walk from the sites of Florence and had a comfy bed with clean sheets (and clean in general), and not noisy. And that's what I got. I didn't try the breakfast, but I appreciated that it was an option. I mean, really, what more do you actually need? You're not hosting dinner parties, and if you spend much time in your room, you're doing Florence wrong.

The staff went above and beyond for us during our stay. The room was clean and quaint - a perfect place to stay at night after a day of sightseeing. The area around the hotel doesn't have many restaurants that stay open past 7 or 8pm, but there's a lovely store down the street to get snacks. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center if you want more than that in the evening though. They offer breakfasts and dinners, they have a great balcony, and again the staff was just phenomenal.

The hotel staff was kind and very helpful, however, the room was a tad uncomfortable and inconvenient. We had to share one bathroom with the whole floor and the room was so hot, with no AC that we had to have the windows open all night and woke up each morning with at least 10 new mosquito bites. Overall, not bad and livable but honestly if you pay a bit more you can have AC and be much closer to the town center and train station, oh and you can have your own toilet.

Friendly Clerk but Hotel on the outskirts of town

The best thing about this hotel was the front desk clerk. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and was even kind when we contacted him late night for an emergency. He also showed us where to visit in Florence on a map and was very welcoming and attentive about our stay.
If you have heavy luggage, I do not recommend this hotel unless you don't mind carrying it up several flights of stairs as there was no elevator. Additionally, the bathroom was in the hallway and was shared so if you have qualms about that again, might not be the place for you. The internet worked well but you are required to create a login however, that is standard in most places in Italy. The room itself was nothing special but if you are in town just touring and need a place to rest your head, this is an affordable and clean option. Just note that it is a bit of a walk from the hotel to City Center where the museums are so you will need to plan accordingly. Also, this part of town has a lot more locals and a lot less of authentic Italian food so if you like food fusion or American food you will be set in this area but if you don't, it is quite a ways our for something authentic.

Location is not that great, budget accommodations

The location of the hotel is distant than it seems. It takes a 10 minute walk to get to the bus station and takes a good 12-15 minutes of winding streets to reach center. The room I got was nothing like pictured. There was a single light in the room, it looked dark and old. the room was long, the furniture seemed old but everything worked. The tv was so far and small it was impossible to hear anything. There is no AC but they provide a fan which gets noisy. If you open the window, you might get mosquitoes. But all these things are common for florence hotels in summer.
I had almost zero interaction with the staff at the hotel, only during check in and check out. Which might be my own timing. They were friendly and helpful and I had no issues.

It takes only 15 minutes from the station to this hotel by bus and the bus frequency is good. Would suggest it to anybody who wants to stay close to the station and doesn't want to pay too high a price. The rooms are nice and cosy and all basic amenities are provided. Line quality is good and so is the décor.

This was a terrible stay. The hotel staff was helpful, but not overly friendly. There were many stairs to climb, some to the entrance of the hotel, and many more to our room. The Internet connection was unstable and we could barely use it. The room's window's were left open and there is no screen on the door or windows so our room was mosquito infested. My family and I got bit so much it looked like we all had chickenpox. The neighborhood is not bad, not too far from the main attractions, but there are many other hotels I would recommending checking out and make this one your last resort option. This is not ideal for families.

Out dated, run down and noisy

The hotel is 1km outside the city, approx 20-30 min walk.
The first man on reception wasn't helpful at all and sent us the wrong way out the hotel. The room had a shared toilet but the sink and shower were in the room with a shower curtain, not ideal but the water was warm. The decor was very dated, felt more like a hostel than a hotel. There were no smoking signs but the hotel stunk of smoke. The hotel was very noisy, u could hear the traffic from the road and people in the room next to you, i wouldn't recommend this hotel!

The hotel is in a quiet location one train stop away from main tourist area of Florence. The hotel itself is a bit old and could do with some updating. For the price we paid I think breakfast should be included. Staff were very friendly and let us keep our baggage until we had to catch our train after check out.

This is a nice little hotel within a 15 minute walk or easy bus ride to all the downtown attractions. The facilities are very basic but this is meant for visiting attractions and spending minimal time in your room, usually just for planning and sleeping. You will need to bring you own facecloths. Good value for the money.

The hotel is quite a way from the main attractions and there isn't much in the vacinity but it was great as a very cheap base for our stay. The room was clean and in reasonable condition although some of the lights looked a little dodgy. Lots of stairs to climb but not a bas place. Staff quite friendly.

The only issue I would list is that they don't have elevator in the hotel, so I had to carry all my luggage to upstairs by myself. But other than that the stuff was very friendly and the room was very clean. The bed was pretty huge and comfy also.
It's pretty far away from the main station but you can use bus n.17 and it would be only few minutes walk, and without heavy luggages it's just 20min walk from the station. So its not too bad. And there is a market within 5min walking distance where you can get cheap food.

The hotel is rather nicely situated away from the crowded down town streets but nevertheless close to the center. The room was shabby and there was a smell of sigarret in the corridor, that i didn't like. But service was perpect there - we really felt ourselves at home, being surrounded by frienliness and helpfullness. When we checked out i felt a bit sorry fir leaving so nice people.

We are traveling around Italy so FLorence was our 6th stop and it was by far our favourite accommodation :) The staff were really helpful and gave us good reccommendations for nice restaurants and sights. You could walk to the centre of town but the walk back at night was a little dodgy near the Unicef building but other than that we felt very safe.

This is a lovely place to stay. The staff are friendly, helpful and speak excellent English. They were so helpful to us advising us wher to go and the best way to get there we cannot praise them highly enough. The hotel itself is basic but if you're just using it as a place to sleep while you explore Florence it's perfect and excellent value. It's a good 20-25 minute walk into town but it's a pleasant walk and nicely flat . We found it the perfect way to walk off all that Pizza & Ice Cream! One word of warning though, the mosquitos are vicious so take plenty of repelant and a plug-in thing for your room!

Hotel Masaccio was just... perfect. The staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and encouraging of our attempts to practice Italian, though their English (if you're into that sort of thing) was excellent. For a very reasonable price we had a large, warm and inviting, clean room, and easy walking access to the whole town of Florence.

There were a lot of stairs, and it was far enough from the center of town to be very quiet and peaceful, so I would not recommend it for people with serious mobility issues. But otherwise, the walk (less than ten minutes to the Galleria where Michelangelo's David is housed, about fifteen minutes to the Duomo and twenty to Santa Maria Novella train station) was a nice way to begin and end a day of sightseeing.

Also, there is a grocery store right down the street for those who prefer not to spend all of their money at restaurants.

Anyone who is looking to stay in Florence for a reasonable price, and/or in a welcoming, homey, friendly hotel at any cost, should consider the Hotel Masaccio.

Das Hotel liegt nicht ganz im Zentrum, zum Dom geht man 15 Minuten.
Da die Rezeption nur von 8-20 Uhr besetzt ist, hatte ich Angst, zu spät einzutreffen. Ich habe deshalb angerufen und die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hat mir erklärt, welche Straßenbahn ich nehmen soll und was ich machen soll, falls ich zu spät bin.
Das Hotel selber ist sehr einfach. Hohe Stufen über mehrere Stockwerke ohne Lift ist mit schwerem Gepäck mühsam. Zimmer und Dusche waren etwas eng. Das Bett war nicht sehr bequem. Das Nötigste war aber vorhanden.
Durch die nicht ganz zentrale Lage gab es in der Nähe einen Supermarkt, den man im Zentrum nicht findet, aber auch Bars und Bäckerein.

Hotel molto carino con personale veramente molto gentile e disponibile, la stanza era pulita. I mezzi di trasporto sono vicini alla struttura ed è facilmente raggiungibile il centro anche a piedi. Unica piccola pecca è stata la finestra con gli spifferi che ha fatto entrare aria fredda in stanza, ma una volta chiesta una coperta in più il problema si e risolto.

The location is perfect, walking distance to everything and quiet to sleep in. The room is very comfortable and has a sink. The bathroom is shared with (maybe) just one other room but in 3 days I never saw it busy and it was always spotless. The staff is very nice and provided great advice on the city. There are stairs (like in many places in Europe) so not ideal when carrying very heavy suitcases, but totally doable. Breakfast is overlooking a beautiful patio that the building has in the lower stage, although there is a delicious coffee shop very nearby. I recommend it based on the experience and the price range for the city, again, perfect location.

Fiyat/performans olarak muazzam bir oteldi. Temizdi, cupid roomda kaldık, hoş bir balkonu vardı. Odada tek kullanımlık terlik ve çay için sıcak su olsaydı daha iyi hayal edemezdim. Teşekkürler.

Budget hotel with parking facilities if you travel by car. But a very busy street without any directly pleasant restaurants in the immediate area. Walking distance to the center, approx. 20 minutes. Offers a simple breakfast for 6 euros, which can be considered affordable. There is no AC, which is also stated in the description, but it was borderline too hot now in September, so I would not stay there during the summer. The shower doors don't close tightly at the bottom and there was a big puddle on the floor outside every time you showered. I would not choose this hotel again.

A very good experience.

NIce little place with a lot of soul. The lady who manages it is very nice and he tries to help everubody with their tourist problems. It is not new but it has a charm and it is not expensive for Florence. Tou must walk to get to the city center but it is not far. And you can take buses very close to the hotel to get to anywhere in Florence. If you have a low budget it is the best you can find. If you have money, get there and keep your money for museums, churches or Spritz !

Good but some points to improve

It was a simple but ok hotel. For the price you it is expensive but in Florence everything is more expensive than France or Southern Italy.
Points to improuve :
- Sound isolation should be done for rooms who are seeing the road. So if you are choosing shared WC than ready to encounter some noise. I can not imagine how it would be possible to sleep in summer with open window.
- If the hotel can provide water boiler for rooms to make your own tea than life would be easier. They are helpfull though, until 20h. they give you cup and hot water.
Good points :
- Helpfull stuff
- Clean room and decent amonth of space
- Good location, you can reach hearh of the city by walk in 20 min.
Overall good hotel and I would stay again if I go to Florance but definitely at one of the rooms facing the garden, not the road :)

Na vriendelijke check in kwam ik in een kamer die niet erg schoon was.Doodgeslagen muggen op de muur/kast.Ook verrast met haren in bed.De enige nacht zeer slecht geslapen,gevoel dat bed op snelweg stond,zoveel lawaai van de straat.
Ontbijt niet genuttigd.Prijs was laag maar dit was zelfs dat niet waard!

ホスピタリティ溢れるスタッフが私の貧相な英語でもなんとか理解に努めてくれます。
洗面所やシャワールームも清潔できちんとお湯も出ます。
徒歩数分圏内にスーパーがあるので、自炊には困らないでしょう。
ただし近所のレストランは少なめです。
また市街地へ戻るにはバス停がやや離れています。
雨の日でしたので、すこし大変でした。

Non mi è piaciuto nulla. Ho fatto il check in, non mi è stato spiegato nulla in merito alla colazione o il checkout seguente, anche se per il check out tutti sappiamo che in genere viene fatto verso le ore 10. Le pulizie per me sono fondamentali perché sono allergica alle polveri. La camera non era per niente curata né pulita l'unica cosa pulita erano le lenzuola. In bagno mancava addirittura lasciuga capelli,poi fondamentalmente ai me un paio di ciabatte usa e getta almeno per andare in bagno.

Péssimo atendimento e estrutura muito precária.

Não indico. Devido a forte chuva precisamos estender no mesmo local e ao reclamar do aquecedor ouvimos do responsável que: \" se não gostamos, por que resolvemos estender?\"

A nota reflete bem o lugar o que é.

Uma boa localização e apenas isso.
1. Um prédio muito antigo com cheiro de cigarro por todo o edifício.
2. MUITAS ESCADAS, eles dizem ser no segundo andar mas o quarto é como se estivesse no quarto andar e você pode ficar ainda em andares superiores, sem elevador.
3. Um péssimo atendimento.
4. Não existe bar ou algo similar é apenas um hotel bem antigo com uma estrutura bem precária.
5. Wifi não funciona nos quartos.
6. O quarto é extremamente frio e a roupa de cama parece estar sendo usada desde que o hotel foi fundado muitos anos atrás.
