The room was in great condition. The food in the restaurant was tasty. Staff were very helpful in securing taxis, etcetera, and genuinely wanted to be sure everyone had a good time. The only downside was the WiFi was slow. I wasn’t able to do my Zoom meetings. Instead, they became phone calls. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Santiago at some point in the future.

Adicionalmente, una de las noches no hicieron el aseo en mi habitación, regresé muy tarde y el hotel al parecer estaba en alta ocupación y no había personal de limpieza.

Overall very basic for the priced paid. Location was good to view the fireworks on new years, but the prime to go with stay for New Year’s Eve was not worth it. Beds were too soft. Only two towels and a floor math in the bedroom. Only a tv, safe and one chair. Very, very basic. Also, food selection small only pizza and h and cheese sandwiches to select from for dinner.
If omit staying for a day the this hotel is close to the safe tourist area… otherwise, spend the money and stay at Viña de Mer… because there is nothing to see on Valparaiso

Amenities in the rooms were so so. We knew the area is in the center with not the best neighborhood but had excellent views of the fireworks for New Year which is she we booked it. Close to the cerro neighborhoods which allowed us to walk around and close to the train station which took us to Viña del mar

Sadly enough, I think this is one of the nicer properties in town. Our room was beyond sparse, with limited end tables, bathroom amenities, and the like. Upon entering the room, the 2nd bed was already rumpled and had a black shoe print in the comforter. Additionally, on the bed table next to it, there was a half eaten pack of fruit snacks.
The bathroom had 2 total towels, no hand towels, lotion, or anything of the sort. The shower had zero shelving to put anything like a razor, shampoo etc.
The TV had one English speaking channel, the BBC:I know that we are in Chile; however, this is a popular hotel for tourists getting on or off a cruise.
Lastly, the area surrounding the facility is very depressed. It is ideal for the purposes of the cruise, however.
The staff was nice enough and accommodated everything we asked for, which was fairly minimal. I think 3 stars, overall, is generous, so travelers be advised.

I liked our room with the view of the harbor. It could have been cleaner. Our room had toilet paper, liquid soap, and two towels. There were no cups, glasses, tissues, hand towels, washcloths, shampoo, or lotion. No USB ports. Talk about sparse! Good thing it was only one night and inexpensive.

It is bare minimum hotel. I would say even below that. Carpets on the floor so filthy I didn’t even want to step on it. Surrounding is not good either. Supermarket is right next to hotel almost. That was good. Electric outlets are very different with 3 prongs.I could get only 1 from the office. I bought 2 from a store I was passing. I have stayed many times in Ibis in France. It doesn’t come close enough. The reason I chose this hotel it is right at the pier but didn’t know our ship was docked far away. Trip to Valparaiso

2 night stay in Valparaiso. Hotel location is fine, on the dock, but not too far to walk anywhere.
Was allocated a room on the fifth floor, overlooking the harbour/town, but a club (disco) made noise all night long until 4.00am which made sleep absolutely impossible. Requested a change of room the next morning and was moved within 30 minutes without any hassle.
Big room, but absolutely no extras whatsoever, not even a glass I'm the bathroom, and tiny sachets of shampoo.
Breakfast just barely ok. Limited hot items, and poor quality juice and coffee.
I have given a reasonable score based on being moved rooms without any question, but if that had not happened I think my scoring would have been alot lower.

Valparaiso, a city which offers a visual feast.

I chose the IBIS purely on the basis of its central location in the Port of Valparaiso. It was modern, the rooms were large and the staff were extremely helpful, with the added bonus that they spoke English.
I read a great deal online about the location and that safety Of the individual was a possible issue . Complete nonsense and I found no evidence of crime. Valparaíso is definitely a no 1 location to visit, not once but deserves another visit as it offers So much in terms of interesting architecture and art.

Overall the Hotel is fine.
Now if you plan to include breakfast on your reservation I would like to advice that staff will start removing food 45 minutes before cut off time.

Coffee is cold, I requesated some eggs and the kitchen staff was rude

I am very upset with this hotel. The story goes like this: First of all, I made an error, I admite it. I was looking for an hotel in Viña del Mar because we were staying there from June 23rd to June 24th. It was absolutely my fault that I booked the wrong date (July 23,2019), so I decided to contact Expedia to see if we could make a change (we were not expecting to do it as free, we were going to pay if it was needed). Expedia’s Customer service was incredible, patient, and gave an amazing service. They told us they were going to contact IBIS Hotel, but they got no answer. I called Expedia almost 5 times in a day for almost a month, and they have gotten no answer. When IBIS finally answered, they told them that they would not make any change, that we were responsible for that money WASTED. IBIS gave us two options: stay that night we’ve accidentally booked or gave it to another person. I was ashamed and angry because we lost almost $200. Fortunately, we found an Airbnb to spend that night. Obviously, I’m not EVER going to stay in another IBIS in my life...HORRIBLE SERVICE.

Great location, easy walk to everything. Rooms are basic but more than adequate and good value for what you pay. We had an issue with our bathroom lighting and it was resolved quickly by the manager who also gave us a little rooftop tour (normally closed access) after fixing our issue. Breakfast has everything you need to start your day including our favorite, eggs and toast. Lots of fresh fruit, breads, yogurt, juices, meats and cheeses. We do not speak Spanish so had some difficulty trying to get detailed information from the front desk staff who, for the most part, struggle with English. This is not a criticism by any means as they were generally friendly and helpful.

I've stayed in lots of Ibis Hotels, and I will always say I dislike the bathrooms; but for the money, I can put up with it. Staff at front desk was good, but not overly friendly or helpful. Walls, baseboards, door jambs, walls, etc., needed washing or painting. Hotel is quiet, located well and I'd go back. So couldn't have been that bad, right? Breakfast was overall ok, though they wanted us to pay before we ate, which I thought was a bit bizarre and unusual. But what the heck, I don't make the rules.

Very clean. Good location for train and walking back and forth to plaza anibel pinto & beyond. Took long time for taxi to come & it was a metered taxi so expensive. Better to walk to plaza anibel pinto & cab there. Problem was going back it was late & I couldn’t get any kind of cab & tho not a long walk when you’re not sure where you are & the sun has gone down It was more of a risk than I would have liked as a woman alone. Also room had no view which is one of the best things about valparaiso

Basic hotel, good for one night

We spent one night in Valparaiso at the end of our cruise. This hotel is ideally located within 5 minutes' walk from Plaza de Armas and a supermarket. We did not have a room with a view, although the hotel was by the harbor. The room was very basic -- only two towels in the bathroom, no face/hand towels, no glasses. When I asked for one, I was directed to the bar in the lobby! The bed was comfortable. The safe needed resetting and the hotel technician was extremely prompt in doing so. The room looked clean, but the carpets in the hallways had not been vacuumed in a long time. The buffet breakfast that came with the room was very decent. All in all, a good hotel for one night.

Good location within walking distance to many sites. Convenient parking but they only provide a 50% discount which came out to around $8 CAD per day. The room was clean and spacious but it can get noisy. Sound transfers from the corridor and from adjacent rooms was common. Nice view of the port from some rooms.

no furniture at all in tge room, very simple with one folding chair. you even don't get a cup in the bathroom. if you are an environmentalist you may aporeciate the simplicity of the set up but uone can find it substandard compaeed with a 3 stars amenity. also nest to it is a party night club. you can hear tge band and tge noise clearly up to 3 in the morning.

I traveled from Santiago to Valparaiso for only one day to work in a photoshoot. On the way there, I got my wallet stolen by a pickpocket (very common there). All I had was my reservation to the hotel and a photocopy of my passport in Santiago. I was tired, upset, and discombobulated by the whole experience, but I thought, at least I have the hotel paid for, I will do the photo shoot the next morning and go back to Santiago. Sadly, the hotel did not agree with this.

Despite having my reservation fully paid through Travelocity, and a credit card on hand, they refused to let me check in. Despite me asking for the manager, she was even ruder than the staff at the front desk and insisted that it did not matter if I brought the ID later, or send it via email. that I could not be checked in unless I showed my ID.
Despite my efforts, I had to go back to Santiago, wasted an entire day, checked in at 2am, and had to get up at 5am next day.
I was unable to explore the town, and the hotel was not even worth the stay.
In the middle of the night, I was thirsty, and the room didn't even have a cup to drink from.
Absolutely worst experience ever, and I will never stay at another Ibis hotel again.

Good location but not that great of a hotel

PROS: The Ibis hotel is in a great location and has a parking garage for a very reasonable daily rate (about $6 a day).

CONS: The whole hotel reeks of cigarette smell though. Our AC didn’t work. There was a lot of sounds coming into our room from outside and inside the hotel. The restaurant food was pretty awful.

Very close by public bus and metro system. Also close by a supermarket and food court. Staff is very helpful. Buffet breakfast is good; except some guests pick up food by
hand instead of using the thongs provided by the hotel. All in room amenities are good. It will be even better if there is fridge and for coffee pot in the rooms.

Superb location relative to the hills around the port. Friendly staff and clean rooms and public spaces. Excellent beds. The area around is ultra-dirty! Too bad, as the entire Valparaiso has not been properly cleaned in decades. If one is looking for location and value, and can ignore the area around - it is a good choice and value.

We only stayed for two night as we visited Valparaiso for Puerto Ideas. On both night the room was hot and the aircondicioner didn't work.
In the bathroom (shower), some tiles were broken . On both breakfast, the area was dirty and messy.

I wouldn’t stay at this Hotel again. The towels are sooo old and duty! I had to go to Ripleys to buy towels. The caroet floor were stained, the staff if you did not ask for a Map they would not offer you amy advice of the area. The breakfast horrible!!! I won’t recomend thos hotel. I have stay in other IBIS hotel in other cities and the service was totally different from this hotel in Valparaiso.

We were close to the mosto touristic hills called Alegre and Concepcion. It is a shame that the towels were very worn and small too. The faucet water was a little. I think the faucet had a problem. The shower water was ok.

This Hotel provides everything you need and is very clean.
It just has one downside. The noise.
Since it's located between the street and the harbor you have noise 24/7 from the traffic and the unloading and loading of ships.
If you like to have the window open this might be a bit annoying, especially at night.
If not, or if you can live with it, then this is a good hotel to explore Valparaiso.

Very good location and the room is clean and comfortable. I stayed in one room with a great view of the port, but I also stayed in another room that did NOT have a view. The pricing is very competitive in that area and I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice location

Everything was good except the outdoor nightclub noise lasted until 5am and difficult to sleep, and check in was a bit slow.
