This is one of the oldest hotels left in Ocean City. It's an aging classy lady that we all know and love. The room was Bayside, small queen but it was meticulous and adequate. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. But we came for the stunning views and the small private beach where you can relax or even fish or just sit for hours and watch the boats pass through the inlet. I'm sure during the summer it's full of families, however in October it was quiet and pleasant. All in all I was pleasantly surprised at a hotel I've passed by for 50 years and we're definitely stay again

The first room they gave us didn’t even have a microwave. The hot water wasn’t working and the shower was clogged. It smelled way too small.

So they negotiated with us and gave us a bigger room for the same $130.00 that room smelled way better and actually had a microwave.

I cleaned it, and it was cleaner than when I walked in

Had a nice view of the water though separated by a parking lot. Nice little beach area. I rated this as excellent because even though it older and there were a few flaws (tear in the carpet) it was clean and the staff were excellent. Very nice people who are eager to make your stay great. Excellent location. Went for a weekend concert and the walk was very close. This is the 3rd time I’ve been to Ocean City for this concert and this was by far the cleanest place I’ve stayed. We just really need a place to sleep as we are out enjoying what Ocean City has to offer and Oceanic did not disappoint. Small, but what we needed. Would stay here again.

Upon arrival I was not provided with a room comparable to the Expedia listing and instead put into an interior courtyard(ish) room with a group of shady, homeless looking people sitting around. I opened the door, looked into the room and immediately left. It was tiny, dirty looking, bathroom no bigger than my pantry closet. I am still fighting to get a full refund and DO NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Location was convenient; the room overall was dated, dirty, and small. Lots of smokers sitting outside in the chairs in front of the room so you can hear the conversations and smell the smoke. I'd never stay here again. Price was reasonable and we made the most of it, but not at all as pictured.

We've stayed here quite a few times. And although the carpets are very outdated and not very clean its a great place to stay! The view is spectacular!! I get most my sunrise and sunset pictures there!! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Of course we'd stay there again!!

Pros: We loved the views from the property! You can see the sunset over the bay and it’s a five minute walk from the sunrise. You can see Assateague Island across the inlet and we saw horses over there one day. The walkability was amazing, it’s 5 minutes from the beach and you don’t have to cross any streets, you can follow the walking path along the inlet. Shopping and the boardwalk are only blocks away. And, the fishing opportunities were fantastic, you can fish right off the property as they are right on the inlet and they include a free pass to the bay fishing pier, which directly behind the motel, for every day you are there.

Cons: It’s an older building and the rooms are small, but they are okay. It seemed pretty clean, we looked it over pretty good when we arrived. We were there two nights with no problems, but we did see a bed bug in the room the day we left.

The motel had a nice view of sunset and Assateuge island if you have balcony that you can see wild horses far away in the morning, better view with binoculars. We went to fishing pier which included got some flounders! The pool was nice by the ocean. Boardwalk was walkable just 5 minutes away!

View was amazing! Small private beach on the bay, lots of outside chairs and hammocks. Room was clean, but very small. AC worked very well. Pool was nice, a little crowded at times. Only problem we had was the hotel ran out of towels. We were told we would get more the next day asap. We left at 9 am using our beach towels after morning showers. Other than that, everything was great. Will definitely be returning.

The guy at the front dream was great didn’t get too get his name but he was the greatest of the experience there when we got into the room there was a smell that I found out was the pull out couch didn’t even have too open it all the way saw what I needed and put it back bedroom was nice the ac worked great bathroom was good as well besides a brown substance on the wall don’t know what it was my main reason for my review is the flies there was a whole family of flies in our room they would hang out on the ceiling and then come down after you my husband killed four while we were there the others were too fast

Unfortunately I did not get to stay the night at the Oceanic. After I was told I could not inquire about the pool over the phone without my mother (I am 26 years old), I still went ahead booked a room with a patio for a deal. Upon my arrival I was put in a standard hotel room, no patio, that smelled like cigarettes.

After going back to speak with staff, I was told that they double-booked the room and had no patio room to give me. They asked me to stay in a standard room for the inflated price.

I spoke to the manager as the two men working the counter laughed at me. The manager issued a refund for a non-refundable room because of what I went through. She was kind, but it does not fix an attempted scam.

Bathroom needs serious updates. Door did not close all the way, floors were dirty and lighting was wild bright.
carpet was sticky :-/
headlight from cars were right on windows by beds.

If you are looking for a conveniently located motel this fits the bill. With a little updating it could be a real gem. We were here in September for a festival and the convenient location is all that kept us from canceling the subsequent nights and looking for something else. We had a room facing the water which was nice. Staff at the front desk was great when we checked in.

Place was very rough. Checked in, walked into room and immediately noticed trim missing around base of the wall. Long blonde hair throughout the bed. Rooms look absolutely nothing like the pictures. Room just felt dirty. Went to front desk where the guy working the counter was very nice and polite. I asked to be moved or get a refund. To which he said he would have to wait till following Monday to speak with his manager. Refund wasn’t granted but checked out anyway and moved to a different hotel in hopes the manager would grant my refund. I’m am writing this after follow up on Monday, refund was not granted. This place is in a great location but needs a lot of work and updating. Would NOT RECOMMEND staying here.

The rooms are very small. The bathroom was recently remodeled and adequate but was just about big enough to turn around in twice. We opted for a room although suites are available. Next time, we’ll know better and there WILL be a next time. The proximity to the water was wonderful.
You DO meet your neighbors. Everyone was very friendly; neighbors and staff. The office people were quite accommodating . It’s a low key, authentic kind of place.
My husband’s only comment? Needed some explanation on how to access the TV which came with 2 remotes and no instruction on what either one did. LOL. A couple of days without TV? Just sea gulls and lapping water? I’ll take it!

The location is excellent and the staff was super kind! Being able to cook on the grill by the water was very nice.

Our particular room REALLY needed curtains. Our room was located directly on the street with windows all around and at 2:00 a.m. it was like daylight. Blinds alone just did not cut it!

Otherwise, we enjoyed it and will return.

The room was much much smaller than we had expected. Very tight quarters in the bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable. There are no microwaves or coffee pots in the rooms. Part of the allure for me was that the motel boosted about having a private beach. There is a beach but you aren’t allowed to go swimming where the beach is and they don’t mention that part. I won’t be staying there a second time. It was once and done for me

I took a chance on this hotel, drawn in by its proximity to the beach. And oh, what a revelation! Far exceeding my expectations, this hidden gem delivered a truly unforgettable experience. The room and bath were spotless, the kids splashed away in the pool, and we even scored a grill to fire up a seaside feast. But the real showstopper? The jaw-dropping view, especially as the sun dipped into the ocean, painting the sky with hues of gold and crimson. I'm so glad I took the leap – this hotel truly made our beach vacation shine!

Had a great time. My room was located in parking lot across from the ocean. The board walk and all restaurants and bars are rite there to walk to.The porch had nice wooden rocking chairs and it was shady most of the day. The fishing peer is rite there and you get a free pass for the day . Poles are only 10 bucks to rent for 12 hours and the fish store is open all night. So we fished during the day and night. Brian and other workers in office are really nice and helpful.The room it self is ok. No complaints. It was big and air conditioner, tv frig ,microwave all worked great. I’ve stayed in other hotels but this will now be my go to place. Can’t wait to go back. So book your room and have a great time, it’s all good. 😀

Cold weekend but great stay!

Stay was comfortable with the smaller rooms. The free access to the fishing pier is perfect for fishing or watching the water with the family. It was a cold weekend so the room was a little chilly. The front desk was very accommodating in offering an extra blanket. I definitely will stay here on most of my OC trips.

I stayed at this motel for the October car show. If you are looking for a 5star this isn’t it. If you are looking for a convenient location this is it.
Easy walk to anywhere on the BW. Also great views from my room (sitting outside). I backed my truck into the space and tailgated looking at the water drinking Woodford.
Room was small, yes, but clean and appeared to be recently renovated. I didn’t spend a lot of time in the room.
Because Maryland legalized weed, there was a constant smell of weed, but after dark on the BW it stunk of weed as well. So that’s not the motel’s fault.
There is a private beach on two sides of the motel. I sort some time there as well as on the ocean beach.
I will be back again.

Stayed for one night. Staff was polite. Air conditioning worked well but was a very noisy window unit.
As for cleanliness, it was very disappointing! Did not feel comfortable letting my youngest nephew play with toys on the floor When we got there, we found an open coke bottle and open bag of ice in the freezer part of fridge. To top it off, the morning we were leaving my oldest nephew opened the microwave to find some old takeout…. It was not ours…

Ok, but it's a no for me.

We had a great view of the inlet. We were on the second floor. There were a lot of stairs. The bathroom was very tiny. Room used a window AC unit but it kept us comfortable. The TV kept losing cable connection. The door had been warped by the sea air. Great big crack between the bottom of the door and frame. There were lots of people. Access to beach and inlet. We could fish. It's all about priorities.

Absolutely loved the location, walking distance within the boardwalk and of course, our own private beach/cove with a STUNNING view. Not to mention right next to jet ski rentals. The staff was extremely accommodating when we decided to stay one more night.

Unfortunately, our bed sagged in the middle and our bathroom was ridiculously tiny. We had to suck our stomachs in to get into the shower because that’s how close the sink is to the wall.

With that being said, if you need a place just to shower and sleep that comes with an amazing view (and quiet) would absolutely recommend this motel. It’s not the fanciest or most high end, but we would definitely come back.

we don't stay here for the rooms. We have been coming here for over 10 yrs. I have come here for business and with family. Usually the rooms are dingy, and pretty gross and run down. but we come here for the location. Last year was the worst room ever and worst service ever, I even had to complain. This year, I was so excited because our room was so much better, I think they threw a new coat of paint on things or something, but at least they looked a bit better. (furniture still very outdated and uncomfortable). I was very excited until it was time to go to sleep and realized there was an overhead light directly out my front window and the window next to my bed.. even with all the lights out, our place was completely lit up like it was mid day all night long. I just had to laugh... I covered my eyes and slept. :) the room was much better, the staff were VERY friendly this time ( i think there was a turn over in staffing thankfully) and everything was good as always. Location, location, location.... and yes... we will be back. I'll bring my eye mask!! :) (I remembered my sound canceling headphones for this trip!!) so not bad, not great.. but you cannot beat the view or the location. it is the best!!!

Stuff of nightmares.

This motel belongs in a horror movie. The entire outside of the buildings reeked like sewage. Inside the rooms, flies were everywhere. When we open the pullout couch, we discovered moldy cheez its and what can best be described as fecal stains. By far, the sketchiest place i have ever stayed.

The staff was wonderful and the location was great, but if you stay here, prepare for the worst.
