Delight in Ettlingen
Our host was not able to accommodate all of our small group, so my husband and I took their suggestion of ibis Styles downtown. It was a 7-minute walk from the hotel to our host's house. And convenient to the 'village' of shops near by.
The hotel was modest and clean, the room was efficiently laid out, the breakfast buffet had something for everyone.
I now know that ibis has locations in other parts of Germany and I would not hesitate to stay at an ibis hotel in the future.

The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. The hotel is clean. The free breakfast is excellent. We will stay every time we visit Ettlingen.

Book it only if you have no other option.
It’s a decent hotel but totally overpriced. Unless, for a reason I am not aware of, Ettlingen is a special spot, there is nothing that justify the kind of price Ibis is asking for a room in this hotel.
They are even charging for parking, fortunately there is plenty of free parking in the streets around.
The young lady at the lobby was really not welcoming and had obviously a problem with the idea of smiling. I like to think that it was because she knew it was a rip-off and couldn’t be happy about it.

Great hotel. We loved it there. We were two families with younger children. They gave us family rooms, which, in and of themselves were surprisingly spacious for the lower price we paid. But their family rooms are actually two adjoining rooms. So they included even double the space and a separate bathroom. They also have a stool and children's soap on the children's side. The breakfast has just enough variety, to satisfy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was great to have plenty of underground parking available at a very reasonable price. I would definitely stay there again and definitely recommend it to everyone.

Lovely, clean hotel and good value for money. Very good with children- lovely room for families and children’s breakfast buffet was perfect. They gave the children a toy at check in and also bubble bath in room.

Surprise highlight of our trip
We spent one night here as we were travelling through at the end of our holiday and were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness, cleanliness, and the access to a wonderful German restaurant, Vogel, just a few minutes' walk away. We would definitely stay here again if passing through the area.

Needed a low cost hotel for one night. Much better than expected. Have always avoided Ibis hotels, but the \"Styles\" concept is very good. Comfortable beds, modern, bright rooms. Reception and bar staff friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.

No fuss hotel in nice location. Supermarket opposite the hotel and several restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were simple with all basic amenities provided - uncomplicated rather than luxurious.

We had a fantastic stop over here on our way down to Italy. The room was huge, 2 interconnecting rooms, perfect for a family of 4, giving us 2 showers, 2 toilets etc... perfect after a few hours in the van. The hotel was clean and tidy and had a very unique style which we loved. The breakfast was ace. Loads of it and plenty of variety. Great parking beneath the hotel. There's a height limit of 2m but I managed to get my Transporter down there OK. Ettligen itself is a beautiful little town too with lots of bars and restaurants. We ate at a local place and the staff were helpful and friendly (beer was good too!). Overall, a great hotel and thoroughly enjoyable stay in Ettlingen.

What's not to like?
Great choice for an over night stopover. Hotel is very new and hence clean. The 'Styles' brand means some strange/garish choices for the interior furnishings but it gives it some character rather than the usual formulaic 'chain' hotel. Breakfast is included and there was plenty of choice, but no hot offering. Wifi was free and worked perfectly, which is rare in my experience. Underground car park was eight euros but you can park on the street for free. Town centre is just a few minutes walk - small but quite interesting. We were there on Monday night and most restaurants in town were shut.

I'd never stayed in an Ibis hotel. I was a bit taken aback by the lay out of the room. I didn't like the toilet, wash basin and shower all being separate. The shower was open in the room and the washbasin was on the other side of that. The room felt like an Ikea show room.
The staff at reception were friendly and spoke very good English. The hotel over all was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
I wouldn't stay at an Ibis again but that's only through the layout not being to my taste.

Good hotel, worth the money, but the internet as with most German hotels is pretty shocking! Like being back on dial-up and I can't understand why they don't really seem to have got their act together here. How can you describe yourself as a business hotel when your internet runs like treacle.

Super nettes Personal, vor allem im Frühstücksbereich! Leckeres Frühstück mit kleinem Veganer-Stand. Um 14h war leider kein früher Check-In möglich, aber die Möglichkeit, Koffer aufzubewahren wurde angeboten. Einfahren in die Tiefgarage zum Check-In war kein Problem, auch ohne einen Parkplatz zu buchen. Parkplatzsuche in der Nähe: kann schwierig werden. Ruhiges, sauberes Zimmer. Dusche neigt zur Überschwemmung des Bereichs davor. Organisation der Beleuchtung könnte besser sein (Ausgesteckte Stehlampe: okay: Beleuchtunsstabdort nach Bedarf, aber erster Steckdosenversuch: kein Strom… Kleinigkeiten… Summa summarum war es schön! Kommen gerne wieder :-)

Mooi nieuw hotel op ideale locatie voor een tussenstop naar Oostenrijk. De familiesuite bestaat uit twee geschakelde kamers met tussendeur. Dus zeer ruim en comfortabel. Voor de kinderen is er gedacht aan speciale douchegel en shampoo, je kan gratis een Wii lenen en bij het ontbijt is er klein kinderbuffet. Ontbijt is sowieso goed: ruim voldoende keuze en keurig steeds bijgevuld. Parking onder het hotel is ook handig. Echt een aanrader!

Gab leider Probleme beim check in unserer Gäste. Wir wollten die Schlüssel beider Zimmer (1 Familie, davon 1 x Sehbehinderter Rentner) am Spätnachmittag des Anreisetages holen, da die Gäste die Zimmer erst spät in der Nacht beziehen konnten. Jedoch wurde uns beim check in lediglich 1 Schlüssel ausgehändigt, da die 2. Person (Sehbehinderter) nicht persönlich anwesend war. Als unsere Gäste dann in der Nacht ankamen wollte man das 2. Zimmer nicht aushändigen, da die Zimmer angeblich nicht bezahlt seien. Beide Zimmer wurden jedoch bereits vorab über Expedia per Kreditkarte beglichen, was Mittags ja auch bei der Aushändigung des ersten Schlüssels bestätigt wurde. Nur der Nachtportier hatte davon offensichtlich keine Kenntnis. Sehr ärgerlich, da wir genau dieses ja vermeiden wollten und wir extra vorab und Nachmittags alles für unsere Gäste geregelt und organisieren haben wollten. Nach langer Diskussion um 12:30 in der Nacht und mit großer Verärgerung unserer Gäste hat man den 2. Schlüssel dann auch endlich bekommen. Für uns heisst das IBIS Ettlingen nie wieder!!!
