The hotel was great for what it was. Much cheaper than other options, still close to the train station, and right next to a shopping center and 24-hour convenience store. My only complaint is that in the description of the hotel, it claims access to laundry facilities. There are no such facilities that are accessible by customers. The hotel offers a laundry SERVICE, but does not offer facilities. There’s a rather large difference there, especially in terms of the total cost.

I don't know why Expedia gave me this hotel as an option in Zurich area as it takes about 25 min to get there from Zurich by train and 10 min by bus, which costs about €60 for 3 people. The area around the hotel is really nice and quiet, but the best thing is staff at the hotel. Two very nice young ladies answered questions about my trip in details, and also made some accomodations for me because the first room didn't work for us. There's always somebody at the front desk, and they are so kind and helpful. The nearest supermarket is a 10 min walk, and the train station is 15. Not many good options for restaurants unless you go towards the train station.

The staff was helpful. There are other budget hotels i've been to and they made the customer stay comfortable. This hotel is NOT comfortable - too many negatives to mention. To cite a few - shower head is not installed properly - it keeps falling so you have to hold it. The door to the toilet has a hole instead of a door knob, there is a hole with a missing door knob so left a hole there - no privacy. There's no kettle for hot water. The comforter provided for one of us has a red nasty looking blanket. The sink is clogged which we reported but no one came to resolve the issue. I dont normally write reviews but just want to warn my fellow travellers. Overall, i dont think this particular location of Ibis (Winterthur) is well-maintained. I dont know about the other locations.

My only issue is the bed! The bed was so hard, i couldn’t have enough sleep and rest. After a day road trip you want to relax your muscles, but on this mattress it was impossible! I woke up three times at night to find a way it won’t hurt my back or butt… jeeezz! It’s lime sleeping on the wood covered with bedsheets.

The pillows were so thin. It was like laying your head straight on the mattress. I asked for another one. It arrived 40 minutes later- actually that’s not quite true, a duvet arrived 40 minutes later. I folded it up and used it as a pillow.

The shower is annoying. There’s a hole in the door so when you use it it soaks the floor. And you don’t have any spare towels to clean it.

Also at 09:07 someone opened our door whilst we were sleeping. Granted we didn’t have our do not disturb sign up. But I thought they would have given a couple of seconds notice after knocking. They knocked on the door and opened it almost immediately.

LOOK FOR A BETTER DEAL SOMEWHERE

The weirdest hotel we've stayed in during our 1-month tour in Europe. Very tight space. The shower room had an almost transparent glass door w/ a big hole that served as a handle to open and close door. So, to have privacy when taking a shower, we had to hang our bath towel from the top of the door and plug the door handle w/ our dirty shirts. The toilet, w/c was a separate room beside the shower also had a BIG hole where the door knob would usually be installed. Again, we had to be resourceful and used toilet paper to plug the hole and have some privacy. We were 3 occupants in the room ( in a double decker bed) and of course needed some privacy in toilet and bathroom.
We had to ask for hand towels. Only regular towel provided for each. We had to ask for shampoo refill.

I though the hotel was in Zurich. This is very far from there. Had to pay 52 Euros every day to go and come back to Zurich. for 2 persons.

It is near to the train station in Winterthur. The Budget hotel with no reception or personnel to ask for help.

Car parking is not enough

When we arrived the car parking was full and I was asked to park in the street but full of cars parked as well so I need to go around and around until finally I found a space in the street which was not marked hoping I will not received a ticket. They should cater more parking space like using McDonald’s parking space beside them. The other thing was there was no cupboard or wardrobe to place clothes.

Budget not worth the value.

Parking and breakfast cost extra, although the description of the hotel made it seem like these were included. There was a bit of noise that was easy to hear through the walls of the room. The person in the room next to me was snoring quite loud all night and I was not able to sleep because of this. The walls must not have proper sound dampening.

Just got back from Winterthur, I stayed in a room with two other girls for the week. We had double bed and bunk over it which was perfectly adequate for what we needed. It was quite small for 3 people for the week with our luggage but we managed ! We just had a good rota for showers and getting ready. The toilet is seperate and shower and sink within the room - the shower door is blurred which was fine for the price you pay for the week😄 it was very clean and bed made daily with fresh towels so always back to normal when you come back in on a night. Only a 15 min walk in a staight line to the train station and regular buses going passed the hotel.
Theres a MacDonalds right outside the hotel if you wanted a cheeper breakfast option

Close to shop and restaurant. Only problem was the poor performance of the in-reception computer.
The software was terrible. It kept switching from English to french and then I couldn't print out the
boarding pass.

Very good value cheap, cheerful hotel on the fringes of Winterthur (and in truth not near very much at all although we did luck upon a bar up the road that decent food - after hotel had sent us in the opposite direction to the sole restaurant which was closed).
Room very small but perfectly adequate for an overnight. Breakfast extra and a bit basic (but probably cheaper than going to a café). Extra for parking too.

Hotel was in a good position

I think considering that we do a lot of travelling staying at the Ibis Hotels are definitely not value for money anymore. The rooms are just not comfortable enough and the facilities are dreadful. It used to be value for money but so many great Hotels now the same price if not cheaper.

Will never stay in another Ibis Hotel again.

One Tip: if you prefer to have a great breakfast (as I): Have breakfast at the Ibis next door as an \"external guest\" - costs a little more, but it is definitively worthwhile.

Prepared to be taken advantage of on parking. They charge you 5,00 a day for parking but the lot is very small and also limited parking in the garage. It is a first come first serve basis. When the and garage are full you are out of luck and must park far away. They laugh all the way to the bank by selling parking. Given that this is a budget hotel I didn't have high expectations which is good because nothing about this place is pleasant. It's just cheap and relatively clean.

Very bad location just above the Mc Donald. Noisy very late at night and moreover it was impossible to close the window. It is like all the nightlife of Winterthur takes place next to a hamburger. The standart of the room is the one of a low level Ibis budget (something between an hospital room and a prison cell + you feel it becomes old)The person at the reception was really nice. Anyway, i could think to come back here (only for the price, not for the pleasure, let's not exaggerate), but only when this fast food downstairs will have disappeared 😊

Dit was echt een budget kamer voor een veel te dure prijs. Om meteen op de kamer te kunnen moest ik 30 frank meer betalen bovenop de toch al dure prijs. De kamer was schoon maar zeer klein. Ook het 3de bed boven het 2-persoonsbed was onhandig. Mijn partner heeft meermalen zijn hoofd gestoten.
Het personeel was vriendelijk.
Voor mij nooit meer.

Çalışanlar güleryüzlü ve yardımseverdi. giriş ve çıkış günlerinde valizleri ücretsiz emanetlerine bıraktık. oda temizliği almadığımız günlerde konaklayan başına tercih edilen içecekten ikram ettiler. bira, kahve vb.

Das Hotel ist sauber und die Zimmer sauber jedoch sehr klein. Es gibt keinen Stauraum bzw Kleiderkasten oder ähnliches. Auch waren die Matratzen wirklich sehr sehr hart. Preis/Leistung jedoch stimmt.

non c'è neanche il fono in camera, e se lo chiedi quando esci dalla doccia che non te n'eri acccorta, non te lo portano.
E vogliono pure 20 marchi di cauzione poi per dartelo e senza neanche darti una ricevuta.
