We stayed recently here and I have to say, I do believe the room rate is a little high for what you get. The check in was ok but we were told there and then that the jacuzzi and sauna were broken. No pre warning before our stay so we could decide whether to come or not. The Manager initial said this was removed from the website but I kindly advised “who looks at a hotel website after a booking?” He was kind enough to reduce the rate but still looking at the pool, it felt a little unclean and basic and again reiterate the value of the stay. There was no where for us to sit by the pool, it’s very minimal and first come first serve basis - likely you will be disappointed. The lounge bar is a little on the expensive side and the food was ok, we ordered the nachos but they both came out very different in size. We had a twin room which was basic. The tiles were broken in the bathroom with mould along the sealant of the bath. The beds were on the hard side and felt a little like sleeping on an old springboard. We did have dinner in the restaurant and I have to say, it was the food and staff in this room that prevented a complaint. We had the stuffed chicken which was absolutely delicious. We were served by two lovely waitresses in a very fast manner and were checked on a couple of times which was perfect. We chose to leave the restaurant early due to a large party being very loud, but we were allowed to take our drinks to our rooms. I’m not sure we’ll return sadly.

It was ok for the price but I’ve been in travelodges that have more room amenities. No glasses, just mugs and a kettle. All the sockets are extremely low and so it’s either difficult to or you’re not able to get the plugs in you need that you’ve bought with you. In our room the air con came on in the middle of the night, and in our room it had a spanner showing that it had a problem…so I was unable to turn it off and it was pretty noisy so had about 1.5 hours of trying to get back to sleep. Not the worst but also not the best.

The dining room manager was clearly very stressed and was quite abrupt because they had been having issues in the kitchen and the main coffee machine wasn’t working. The food was nice but shared yoghurt and jams are not great when some guests put the wrong spoons in the wrong jars/dishes. Individual pots of preserve and yoghurts would be better. There weren’t any tongs to pick up the pastries and Some guests were picking them up with their hands and putting them back. Also a lot of the chairs and tables in the dining room weren’t clean with food residues left behind! Also the pool and hot tub weren’t working and the fixtures and fittings looked tired and some were broken, I.e., locker doors, handle on steam room and lights. We have been given a complimentary voucher for a revisit to the Spa but I don’t live in the area, so I will have to pass this onto family who in the area. This was booked for me as a birthday treat!!

Functional heating for room during sub-zero weather. And staff who don’t resent you for asking for a replacement heater that actually worked.
Air con was broken, and a known long-term fault apparently. Replacement electric heater (already in the room), was both pathetic (tiny) and not fit-for-purpose, as not on thermostat so could not be run unattended overnight. When asked, staff told me that the air con was broken, then told me it wasn’t, then were obviously displeased when I asked for suitable alternative. I was polite throughout, and expected a consistent and constructive response- I was treated like an annoyance. And all this in the absence of a properly maintained room.
In addition, the ‘non smoking’ bedroom stank of cigarettes, the bath plug was broken, and lots of black mould around window and bath.
I did not complain about these other issues, due to the unsympathetic response when I discussed the heating. What’s the point.

Three night stay to visit Ashford designer outlet and relax. Check in simple but hotel computer system down so some delay. Room clean and tidy, courtyard view. Hotel did not service the room after the second night despite the appropriate notice hanging on the door. Breakfast ok but could do with some charcuterie selection, also hot buffet somewhat tired. Weekday breakfast ends at 9.30am on the dot with everything cleared away so don’t turn up late! Pool and Spa facilities good. Staff friendly and helpful.

Not impressed with the cooked breakfast it was left out for too long I have worked in catering I was shocked by the condition of the Bacon ,Sausages and especially the baked beans they should of been replaced all the eggs was hard yolks I think the chefs need a refresher course Everything else at the hotel was fine Room very large ideal for my family and my boys loved the swimming pool also playing pool in the bar area with there Grandad would definitely stay again

We've stayed here a few times before and looked forward to staying here again.
As usual, the rooms were clean, warm and comfortable.
The bar food was a bit expensive for what it was. We had a curry and fish and chips. The curry didn't appear to be freshly cooked, and the bread was a pitta that was hard around the edge. Fish and chips were good but the mushy peas had a dull skin on top. Ok though but just not for over £40 for both.
Breakfast a little disappointing. Fried eggs very rubbery, dry mushrooms, cold beans (probably caused by the cold plates) and machine made tea and coffee. The juice tap didn't work for the apple juice.
The spa area was lovely, great pool and steam room/ sauna.
Staff were helpful and pleasant although behind the bar, the lady could've done with some help as she was very busy.

The public areas such as the lobby was very clean, modern and welcoming. Gym was great for a hotel gym I was very impressed. Spa facilities were okay just abit cramped.
Everywhere in the hotel was new apart from the rooms and corridors which were abit dated and felt abit old & dusty. However bed was very comfy.

Lovely stay in the heart of Kent. The pool, steam room and sauna added that little bit of extra luxury. The hotel room was very comfortable and clean. We are in the Horizons restaurant and the waitress was very attentive. The food was amazing and service was quick. Cooked breakfast was a bit dry. I would say get up as soon as breakfast starts for a fresh one.

This is a great hotel in an ideal location for onward travel to France via Eurostar or Le Shuttle. The check-in was fast, friendly and efficient. The staff were all very helpful and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was plenty of parking too.

Stopped on a Thursday night en route to the channel tunnel to avoid a mad rush before our crossing on the Friday morning. We have stayed preciously but not for about 10-12 years.

Hotel was nice, clean and said everything as listed - dinner in the restaurant was a bit so so, but overall not bad for the price we paid.

We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. Room and hotel were very clean and comfortable. We got there late at night and had to leave early in the morning, so didn't get to use any of their amenities, but breakfast was good (with good options) and room fridge was stocked with beer! Check in and check out were very smooth and quick. A bit on the expensive side. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay again (at a lower rate though!)

Walls are a little thin, especially when there are little kids running around above, but that's hotels in general for you, earplugs are always on hand. Food was lovely, and plenty of gluten free options, even pie which is a very rare find. Not had time to try the spa. I'd stay again if I was in the area.

Poor soundproofing (could hear my neighbours), broke tiles in the bathroom, unclean toilet, unclean bath, chemical/musty smell in the room. Won’t stay again.

The Key To a Good Night's Sleep

Hotel was decent however i definitely had higher expectations due to being an International Hotel and Spa, lady who checked us in at reception was very lovely, our room was in a good condition, despite a few faults however the air con wasn't working and in 30 degree heat it wasn't ideal. The restaurant in the hotel is lovely and portion sizes were perfect for us slightly overpriced but it was worth it. The lobby and reception was modern and kept very clean. We did check out the spa however the staff didn't seem as friendly and the pool etc didn't meet our expectation as we thought it would also the juccuzi wasn't working either.

NOT RUNNING WATER IN ROOM!

I thought about writing a really poor review on this hotel, however, previous stays have been not too bad.
However, this business stay was not good. After eating in the bar was really poorly the next day, to top this off, there was no running water in the room from 10am-3pm. This was reported but nothing done about it.
When requesting some kind of compensation for this the hotel flatly refused.
The hotel clearly has no consideration for loyal customers.
I have now lost faith in this hotel, so I think finding a new hotel for business trips is the way forward.

Leisure facilities let's you down big time 👎

Everything in hotel room and lobbies and what you would expect from a 4 Star hotel however the leisure centre is very poor everything you look at can do with a deep clean drains in showers smelling doors hanging of locker's.
New lights have been fitted where old one's obviously were not even filled the old holls or bothered to paint the old outline I would have done a better job in my garage so the star ratting doesn't reflect the pool or changing facilities.
It's a shame because when last revamped was obviously very good job it's just not been maintained.
A good powerwash of all loungers and fixtures and fittings would go a long way.

I would consider the hotel 3 star plus. Its time for a complete refurb and upgrade. I pulled a bedside cabinet drawer and the front fell off. The carpets in the room and around the hotel were well trodden and in need of renewing. It is a big hotel but lacked sufficient clear signage to guide guests around.

In my room the aircon didn’t work, the extractor fan in the bathroom wouldn’t switch off so was really noisy, the magnifying mirror in the bathroom was wobbly so couldn’t use it, the toilet flush didn’t work. When I told reception about the extractor fan they just told me to close the door so I couldn’t hear it

Lovely spa day & overnight stay! Highly recommend

I enjoyed a wonderful spa day here with my friend. The spa amenities were good and the staff were lovely. We had a delicious lunch as part of the spa package. I then stayed the night in one of their normal, double rooms, which was lovely and spacious, the bed was enormous and so comfy (I need one of their pillows for home!). The bathroom was roomy and had everything you needed. Only one tiny complaint would be that there were no sockets anywhere near the bed, which was frustrating as I need to sleep with a small fan on, and here I had nowhere to plug it in.
Overall the stay was lovely, and I would definiteley stay again.

I loved that my dog got a welcome doggie goody bag on check-in and she could eat breakfast with us.
Very clean, modern and lots of choice for breakfast. Will definitely stay again.

This is the worst hotel I stayed. It needs an urgent refurbishment. 3 of the 4 days I stayed Breakfast was late by 30 minutes and the staff just didn’t care. No refunds could be processed as the booking was through Hotels.com. The food on the evening was terrible. I won’t go anywhere near this place again.
