Great place to stay close to Ashford .

Very good,all staff from reception to cleaners very polite and cheerful and helpful.
The room was really comfortable and spacious.
The dining room was lovely,the breakfast selection was excellent and very tasty.
We shall be visiting the area again in late November early December for about a week and will definitely book again with you.

Arrived and was greeted very nicely by a member of staff at reception. I have a few mobility issues even tho not disabled but he found me a ground floor room with walk in shower. Room was nice and clean and a very comfy bed. Was for 4 nights and everything was great. Would definitely return when back down in area.

Great location

Stayed here for 2 nights while working in the Kent area and it’s a great hotel.
Large free car park if you are a resident and you must register your number plate in reception, really friendly lady on reception.
I requested a high floor and that’s what I received.
Nice sized room which you would expect from Holiday Inn, decent restaurant and bar area with a nice beer garden.
Would recommend if staying in the middle of Kent and not far from Dover.

The hotel staff was friendly with a professional attitude. A mini fridge in the room would have been nice and a toilet brush in the bathroom as well. Overall a good stay considering the air conditioning which was a big plus.

Was told we were not able to use the restaurant due to coach tours being prioritised over other paying guests. We were accommodated in the bar and told menu choice was same as in restaurant but felt ‘pushed out’ because the restaurant was full with tour parties..
Staff were very friendly and accommodating and often seemed over worked! Would have to think twice before booking again due to the lack of menu choice and restaurant seating availability we experienced!

We rang to check what time food was available until and were told the restaurant was open until 9.30. When we got there the restaurant was closed for a function!! We ate off a very limited bar menu in our room which was not ideal. The key card stopped working so my husband went to reception where he stood in a queue with 3 more people with the same problem and a very grumpy receptionist telling them all it was their fault! The hotel and facilities were good but the receptionist ( male) was rude and the bar staff grumpy and poorly trained

We were a family with a small child; we were given the last room at the end of the property. The walk to our room took about 5 mins and was not easy with a child. We even requested to get a room closer because we had a child but were told everything is fully booked. We then saw two young men who came after our reservation and were given a much closer room (no difference in the type of room).

The hotel phone was not working, when we complained, they asked us to use our mobile phone and call the number on the website to speak to someone in reception. I booked Holiday Inn hoping that the franchise is good and the overall experience will be better; was very disapointed with the overall service & room amenities.

The bathroom was refurbished very new but for some reason the bin in the bathroom do not have bin bags!!

The room & whole building is a bit old especially the telephone!! The tv is old, remote control missing lid at the back just like many hotels.... The air condition is not working as it's probably too old.

The breakfast is ok (2 for 12 pounds), but no fried eggs available for some reason, also hot chocolate from the machine is very very sweet even after I put half a cup of milk in.

Overall if this is not holiday inn brand probably not worth the money, as it is holiday inn.....

The Staff at Reception were amazing. The first night we were frozen as the heating didn't work. We all woke up with a rearlly bad cold. They put us in onother room.and gave us additional heaters. We came back around 9pm to find the heaters were great but the mainlight and bed side light wasnt working.
We didnt want to move again so we stayed there. Third night we decieded to eat in. There was no heating in the restaurant and was advised to eat in the room.
The corridors on all the days was freezing.
Management should do something about the heating.
Final day of breakfast room service suddenly the rules changed overnight as they wouldn't bring the tray or the trolley inside. We had to get it from the freezing corridor in our PJ. We were promised a fridge which we never goti take my last medication at 2am and they expected me to go and collect from staff fridge.
So dissapointed 😞

Hotel is old building with lot of character. Rooms comfy,but sadly no in room safe. Buffet breakfast was very good. Hot and cold items. Free on site parking is good as Ashford parking is £2.30 per hour. Would recommend this hotel.

We had a terrible night sleep due to drunken people banging doors and running up corridors and talking very loudly well into the early hours and this wasn’t good as we had a 2 year old with us and we had a 4 hour drive the next day.

Part of the hotel is a 17th century barn so is very characterful! Nice breakfast and an inner courtyard where you can sit in the evenings. Maria in the dining room was delightful company! Ashford is very central for visiting the Kent coast. Minor comments-a soap tray would be useful instead of having to place the wet soap on the sink top. Pump soap dispensers would be more hygienic in these COVID times. The kettle was last checked in 2014 and was noisy. Would definitely stay again :)

The reception was great, very friendly, when I asked for a room not too far from reception I was told that the rooms were always pre selected, last time I came the receptionist change my room to a room much closer as I have difficulty walking. This didn’t happen this time as I was put in room 136, which was possible the furthest from the reception. Also the cleaner never bothered to adjust the pillows from where we slept, all she did was to throw the duvet across the bed. Also the tissues in the bathroom had only 4 in the box. Honestly just 4. Probably not her fault but the milk had curdled by the morning. Also young, healthy people parking in the disabled bays. Talking to young ladies.

Booked a couple of rooms last minute as our holiday cottage was without running water for a second day. It was a Sunday night and I think we were the only guests in the whole hotel! The hotel felt a bit tired and in need of some major refurbishment. Dozens of bunny rabbits running a mock in the grounds had left a carpet of poo. The restaurant menu was extremely limited as was the bar choice.
There was zero atmosphere in the bar, no music or anything. At one point the bar man disappeared to put petrol on his car leaving the whole restaurant/bar area unattended. In any other circumstances this would be mildly amusing, but given we were in a very stressed situation, it was rather disappointing.

And there was no room cleaning that we could identify, used cups stayed in the room being left during the two night stay and complimentary tea and coffee ran on the first day wasn't replaced.

This hotel was very easy to reach when driving. Our room was to the back of building from road so quiet and we had a nice sleep. Very clean and staff very helpful. I just would like to mention one negative, at a time when there is a global pandemic I cannot stress the importance of having hand soap in the bathrooms of any type , liquid or bar form( I don't mean general toiletries ).This was not achieved. Which is disappointing given that all precautions that where taking elsewhere ie markings on floors, glass front at reception ,desigfectation of key cards to the rooms ect. Once we asked for hand soap, it was provided at reception.
Also would like to mention that I forgot my white leather jacket in the wardrobe on the room and at 4pm of the same day of checking out we were given keys again so that we could help ourselves to the room whichwas still not cleaned. This was also very appreciated . Is a good 3 star which I recommend for a short stay.

I paid £79 for the room, inclusive of breakfast. Usually, I find Holiday Inn very good value for money, however the breakfast options we received were very limited and in all honesty not even close to being worth the extra money that we paid. In addition to this, our room was on the ground floor, however was still extremely creaky and noisy to stand on, which was extremely annoying. In addition to this, there was pretty much nothing in terms of shower gel left in the bottle, and the sink kept on blocking up when brushing our teeth etc.

We came as a family of 6 and booked 2 rooms, the second reservation was lost and it took a while to sort out. Not good when 2 children want to go to bed as we had been travelling for 6 hours in heavy traffic and had an early start the next day. Receptionist didn’t seem in any rush and just kept saying I can’t find it even though we showed her the confirmation. Would stay again, we were made to feel like it was our fault. First and last visit

The room was fine - clean and comfortable. There was no decoration anywhere in the corridors, just Holiday Inn advertising, The restaurant and bar were completely drab and lifeless (maybe Sunday evenings are quiet) - a TV with the sound turned right Downing’s the bar, gloomy lighting, no decoration. There was a big algae den with nothing in it - well, grass and a few weeds. I think I recall these hotels being developed as ‘Garden Courts’.
The food was ok. They didn’t have the wine we first asked for but had our second choice, however no corkscrew was to be found in the hotel and a member of staff had to borrow one from another establishment, so, by the time we got the wine, our meal was almost done. The next morning there was plenty of hot food, cereals etc but NO croissants, muffins or similar although the stand was there for them.
Nice, helpful staff but what a place to work in!

Disappointment for the start & finish of a holiday

We stopped here two Fridays in a row due to travelling back and forth from France and both stays were very disappointing. Very dated and in need of a fit out, cupboard doors hanging off in the rooms. Homeless person living in a scrap car in the car park not very professional. After asking staff if they knew about it and apparently the homeless lady has lived there for 4 years. How can a company like this allow this to happen. Also other customers stopping at the hotel were also commenting on this, customers are worried about the security of their vehicles. I understand everyone deserves a chance in life but this seem a little bit beyond good will. I cannot imagine you getting many customers returning time after time. How can Holiday Inn as a major hotel chain not have helped the hopeless lady either move on or re home her.

Most staffs are very helpful and try to help. They are short of staffs. No one checks the housekeeping quality. The air conditioning filter is full of dust and noise ( something is loosed inside), water kettle and toilet dust bin are broken. Housekeeping always forgot to replenish the facial tissue, towels, body wash, and dirty cups. Basically every day you find something is not clean or not replenish.

2glass botttles along with 2 glasses sat in door of fire exit near rooms 110 and 111 from when i arrived at 1am to when i told reception at 9.30pm?? kids were present... staff very nice, but they forgot the brides room service breakfast..!!!! they said they had another room number written down, but think its bad they didn't check as she had paid for venue rooms at least she should have had her after wedding breakfast.. had to enquire ourselves where it was.. it eventually turned up in the bar at 11.50am but still... :(

Smooth check in with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Room suitable for a family of 4, clean and a good size.
Friendly bar staff and food was tasty. However, there were several dishes on the menu that were unavailable and the restaurant was not really in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Located behind the bar, it was empty when we arrived, dark and looked rather forgotten about. Overall, the hotel was suitable for our one night stopover.
