Great hotel, close to transport, shops, restaurants and theatres. Our room was clean & comfortable. I was concerned it would be noisy as it was opposite the lifts but it was mostly quiet.
Staff in the hotel & adjoining restaurant were friendly & happy to help in any way. We definitely recommend The Victoria & will stay there again.

It was in the middle of everything! So it’s easy to go anywhere, every time we walked somewhere, it will always come back to the hotel because how close it is to everything! When you book a tour, they know exactly where this hotel is at so you don’t have to be worry! Overall, it’s good for the price, you can’t really complain much since it’s reasonable for what your paying for!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Victoria Hotel - the first 2 times were good but this time was awful. The breakfast was horrible, the room smelt, and the staff didn’t even bother to make up our room on one of the mornings. Won’t be back unfortunately, which is a shame.

Shower was almost unusable, literally trickling/dribbling out with no pressure even when the basin had good pressure and we spent ages adjusting it because it constantly changed temperature. On the last days we had to only use the hot tap and that was just warm. I did complain about that and the fact that we weren't getting replacement toilet rolls so we were down to just the one on the reel that we were worried would run out. I think our bed was made but the sheet wasn't replaced because there was a little blood mark on the sheet where she had a scratch on her leg the next day. I still had some stubble in the basin the next day. Used teacups were not replaced and there were no dish cleaning facilities for us to us. Curtain had no stop on it so came right off when pulled over. I am not a snob about these things, but all these things added up to make it feel ick. Skirting boards were really dusty (this would not have passed my rental inspection that lists this as an item) and there was crap on the shower grout, table bedside had stain on it

The room was on the small side but great for one person. Loved the location and easy access to trams and the CBD, short walk to Chinatown, shops, lots of food choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a pool but it’s small and a sauna on site. I would not hesitate to stay there again if in the area.

Good value hotel. Centrally located with easy access to tram, cafe, restaurant and attraction. Stayed here a couple of times before. Unfortunately this time our room wasn't clean and missing additional security lock. We asked for the room to be cleannes properly the next day but it wasn't done. Management eventually gave us a different room which was clean. Despite the issue, we would return and recommend as all our previous stays were good.

I have stayed at The Victoria Hotel on a number of occasions, over the years, and the change in management, since my last stay, was obvious with less of a focus on personalised service. The location is excellent, although with lots of construction in the surrounding area, it can make for a noisy wake up. If you’re a non smoker, you might be a little upset with the number of people smoking outside the entrance, within the no smoking zone. As an asthmatic, I found this a little distressing, especially since this has never been the case before. I’m hopeful that this improves with time, as I have loved staying here on my previous visits to Melbourne, as it is so central.

House keeping neglected to refill tea bags, milk & toilet tissue which was annoying.

We enjoyed the breaksfast offered and found the selection to be quite reasonable. It is a bonus to have a happy hour bar and large relaxation area for guests.The location of the hotel is excellent for trams,trains, and choice of venues for meals. The only suggestion for improvement is the bath towels are getting worn and thin.

Unfortunatley my friend had an injury during our stay , ended up in hospital for 1 night, then back to the hotel. A long walk on crutches to hotel room with no offer of a room closer to lift till all too late when an enquiry was made. I believe the receptionist could have shown initiative in this situation we found our selves in rather than expecting me to continually make requests .
Other than that the rooms were clean and comfortable, all being well health wise its a great place to stay.

I have known this property since coming here since I was young . It is Melbournes staple , a clean,safe and affordable hotel in the heart of the city. I used the self check in and out and though this is awesome for convenience the interactions with staff as deeply missed. The room was very clean though alittle tired in carpet but to me that’s her charm . Will be back again as always .

Our second stay in a week, this time in a twin room (which looked a little worn compared to the king room). Still a good stay, comfortable beds, good spread at buffet breakfast, easy secure parking (extra cost), great location, rooms were quiet and had adjustable heating and cooling. Cleanliness could be improved a little - some mould on the bathroom ceiling. Overall, great value hotel, would stay again 🙂

The pictures online make it look very upscale. It's a nice property. The beds were comfy, and the linens were nice. Sadly, our shower had quite a bit of mold in numerous spots on the grout. That much mold would take a lot of time to accumulate. Such a simple cleaning between guests would permanent that, so it made me wonder what type of cleaning hours on.

This is my second time staying at the Victoria Hotel. The room was spotless, the bed comfy and check in easy. The location is in the heart of the CBD. My only thing is the rooms could do with a bit of colour but otherwise my overnight stay was great. The restaurant was excellent too. Highly recommend.

Our room 105 had not been cleaned properly, the bed had blood stains on the sheets in several places. The air con was on 16 when we arrived so was so cold.
We asked for compensation and they refused saying I paid via Lastminute though it is the hotel’s responsibility to clean the room so it is their fault.

We stayed at The Victoria Hotel for three nights during our trip to Melbourne, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing.

The check-in process was poor. There was no reception staff available, so we had to complete the check-in ourselves using a machine in the lobby. We requested two key cards, but the machine only issued one. No one welcomed us or provided any information about the hotel facilities such as breakfast hours, the pool, or other amenities.

Considering the price we paid, the room did not meet expectations. The overall service also felt quite casual. The staff were not particularly friendly or professional, and the atmosphere felt more like a roadside motel than a hotel located in the heart of Melbourne.

The only positive aspect of this hotel is its location, which is very convenient.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not choose this hotel again on my next visit to Melbourne.

Staff were brilliant.
We loved the mezzanine as it was a great place to chil when we got back after a day out and about.
Spotlessly clean room and hotel..
We had breakfast in the restaurant. It was great to be able to pay as you go we had delicious porridge and a large coffee each day.

I was a little disappointed with the room and bathrom. They were tired and small. We didn't ask for another room when we arrived and just enjoyed our holiday as maybe I hadn't looked closely enough. If I booked again I would look carefully at the room options.

Great CBD location and good Happy Hour at the bar on weekends made it a good stay. We had a quiet room away from the lifts in the East Wing. Hum of air conditioning was present but still made it okay to sleep. Gym is very limited in equipment and small in space, as is the pool, but both still usable.

Great room- I didn’t mind having no view as I’m only in it to sleep. Good shower, comfy, spotless bed.
The bar isn’t open till Thursday which was a bit of a shame. The pool is tiny- in an airless glass box and very warm water. I enjoyed it only because I had it to myself.
But it’s in a great location and ticked all the boxes.
