The staff were lovely and helpful. The interior is neglected and rooms/bathrooms are not up to date despite the attempt to make them look like that. So not a comfortable stay. There were no proper side tables in our bedroom, the heating was provided by an electric heater which made the atmosphere very dry. Bathroom was a bad design without much space to put things.

We stayed at Broome Park for my mums 70th birthday. They stayed in one of the junior suites which they loved, whilst the rest of us stayed in the lodges on site. We had 23 of us there and Jo in the events team was kind enough to sort us a private dining room for our evening meal which was perfect and also meant the kids could have a bit of space without disturbing anyone else. The hotel was great value for money and had some lovely features and decor. The staff were all very kind and helpful. The lodges were very spacious and had everything you would need for a short stay. A few of our group also had spa treatments and all loved their hot stone treatments and massages. Overall a great value break and a hidden gem of a venue, complimented by great staff.

We stayed at Broome Park two summers ago.
It was good.
That memory did a lot of heavy lifting for this booking.

It should not have bothered.

This festive break lodge felt like somewhere maintenance had stopped visiting and housekeeping had stopped caring.

The lodge was dirty and dusty.
Someone else’s beard trimmings were still decorating the shower tiles.

That was the opening act.

Screws were hanging out of door handles.
Furniture was chipped and scarred.
Drill holes had been left behind, unfinished, like a half abandoned DIY experiment.

The toilet roll holder was broken.
Even the bathroom sign was stuck on wonky, which takes either indifference or quiet defiance.

The lounge TV had no signal.
The bedroom TV had no remote.
Between them, they formed a touching tribute to things that almost work.

Everything felt tired.
Unloved.
Actively ignored.

The ESPA toiletries we remembered have gone.
They have been replaced with cheap hand pumped bottles that whisper cost saving and shout don’t bother.

This was not bad luck.
It was a pattern.

If this is the new standard, it would have been useful to say so upfront.
Standards do not slip overnight.
They slide when no one is watching.

A festive break on the way to Paris.
Instead, a masterclass in lowered expectations.

Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Menu somewhat eclectic, and not necessarily what one would expect from a hotel restaurant, but food was of good standard .
Originally we were given a lodge with disabled wet room rather than a family bathroom, so had to be assigned another lodge.
Lodges are in a wonderfully peaceful woodland setting, a short walk from main building. The Lodge itself was cosy and spacious but several amenities are missing or not working. Eg no drawer space in twin room, boiler/heating couldnt be adjusted. Individually these were not big issues, but collectively it prevents being able to give a 5 star review. We would come here again, but would hope these issues were resolved to make for a more seamless experience.

We stayed for two nights, the stairs didn’t get hoovered, confetti from the wedding was visible.
Bedroom carpet was stained, the dining chairs were covered in stains, breakfast was below average. Shame for the price we paid, we were expecting better.

This hotel has the potential to be a really superb place but it needs considerable investment. A pity really. The room was generally clean and in good condition. The shower was blocked but staff sorted it out quickly. The toilet was a saniflo type ughhh noisy !! Wasn’t offered any tea or coffee at breakfast and we only figured out the location of the cooked foods after hearing another couple discussing it at a nearby table. We had to ask if tea was included at the end of the meal and it was finally provided. The chandelier in the breakfast room is absolutely filthy. It would transform the room if that was cleaned…not a difficult job. The paint on the window frames was peeling away. Just a shame as the hotel could be do much better. Reception staff were ok.

We stayed here at the cottage last year, enjoyed the stay very much and therefore returned here for the 2nd time. We didn’t eat or used the swimming pool last time. So it was a nice additional experience this time. The staff were all very helpful and polite and we were not disappointed at al.

The setting, the gardens, the grand communal spaces and the rooms were fantastic. The service and food was average at best. After an amazing welcome reception it just didn't live up to the price - the bar was constantly understocked or out of drinks, no towels for the pool, poor service at both dinner and breakfast - attitude of staff ranged from exceptional to bored and seemingly irritated by the guests, so it was hit and miss. The food and drinks were fine but overpriced for what we got. It was a shame because the hotel itself is amazing...we would consider staying again, but we wouldn't bother paying for dinner or breakfast and go into Canterbury instead.

They were tired looking and needed to be cleaned better. There was damp in the bathrooms and the blind was broken.

Lovely setting in the country and the main hotel was grand however the pool and changing rooms were in desperate need of updating.

Lovely spacious hotel. Our room looked newly renovated and really surprised by the size. We also had our dog with us. Was great with her as well could eat in the bar area.
Grounds of the hotel were also excellent for walking. Obviously helped with it being with a golf course so lots of space but nice walks in fields surrounding also and well layed out paths.

I imagine the maintenance of such a huge area is rather difficult; the lodge we stayed in (12) was rather dated with lots of dirty old cobwebs around the window frames, etc. We couldn't use the table outside as it was covered in dirt and bird poo. However, we were only there one night so we made the most of it and had a great time.

A very beautiful and historic hotel. The staff were pleasant enough but most forced their smiles, I felt a bit inconvenient for them and less they could do the better.
The room was lovely and spacious and offered everything you may need other than a large mirror. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room but I was surprised by the cheap brands they offered.
Breakfast was nice and a very good choice.
You park your car in front of the hotel so no real parking spots.
I did enjoy our stay but for a grand golf hotel they could certainly work on a few things to make it better.

The barman (blonde hair) sorry didn't catch his name was excellent very friendly, and nothing too much trouble. Food well presented and delicious, lady chef very nice friendly and well travelled. Lovely chatting to her. On the down side house keeping very lacking in fact non existent! Beds were not made on any of the 3 days we were there, no replenished towels, tea replacement etc. On the evening of the second night we did mention this and vouchers for 5 free drinks were given in compensation. However I would have expected house keeping in a hotel of this standard. Free drinks were appreciated. This is why only 4 stars given.

Stayed here for daughter's wedding and we rented 10 lodges between us. Ideal setting as all close together and was great for all the family to be together. Lodges lovely and adequately sleep 6, however some are very dark and some at top of a steep hill. We stayed in number 2 which was lovely, very bright and had a nice bit of garden for kids to run about in, however some further up do not have this facility and are darker as big trees very close by. I would definitely stay again.

It was all ok - clean and spacious. We were lodge 10 which is very dark. In places it looks tired. The door shelf for milk etc in the fridge was broken and we had to ask for basic items like a cloth/sponge and tea towel to be there. The TVs were very basic and WiFi very slow.

Ine oven didnt work. Lodge 9 the bioler made a loud noise frequently throughout the night. Such a shame as there is the recipe for everything else to be perfect.

A three night stay in Lodge 9 was really brilliant! It was secluded in a lovely woodland area. The lodge was very spacious with very impressive en-suite and bathroom. The swift local bus service at the main gates allowed us to visit Canterbury and Folkestone without the hassle of parking.
The facilities for tennis, table tennis, snooker and putting ensured we were kept busy. The only slight disappointment was the pool was quite small and shallow.

Beautiful building and decor. Very historic, great breakfast. Very good service and nice staff. The only.minor issues would be that our room didnt have mixer taps on washbasin but i guess thats prt of the heirtage look. The mattress in my room caused me to constantly roll to the middle of bed so obviously worn unevenly so perhaps they need to flip the mattresses around every few month. Swimming pool.was good, just wished it had a sauna even if a small.one as pool was not busy.
Overall an excellent stay, extremely good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

This was quite the stay! Luxurious building that was classy and beautiful. It looked like a castle on the outside. Inside was spectacular with solid wood molding and gorgeous decor. Our room was huge! The beds were very comfortable and the decor was grand. The views were also spectacular. We didn’t utilize the restaurant but did enjoy a late night drink at the bar. My husband worked out in the gym and enjoyed a brand new rower. The area is remote and the WiFi was spotty but the stay was spectacular.

A lovely classic hotel with grounds. Nice breakfast if a little restricted, and lovely bar food, plus a useful and easy car charger. Pool a little on the cool side and limited changing sreas. I couldnt get the showers to get warm. Bedroom very comfy, though i couldnt understand the reasoning behind check-out by 10am but breakfast till 1030. I did try and arrange a slightly later check out to match the breakfast timings, but was told i would be charged extra, which on top of the room price seemed a bit silly.

Really lovely place to stay. The view from our bedroom was beautiful (well-manicured golf course) and our bathroom was brand new. Our room was clearly well sound-proofed as we didnt hear a thing when we were in our room (Kimberley). Service was kind and polite. There is no sauna anymore but there is a swimming pool. Decent breakfast. Only slight issue was we noticed an electric socket was a bit loose, other than that couldnt have faulted the stay.

Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Broome Park Hotel. There were certainly more pluses than minuses !!
The Staff were great, particularly Caroline on reception and Emily D and Sara in the Restaurant who all went that extra mile to make our stay a pleasant experience.
Food was good, although the limited Menu didn’t change !
It was the small things that were most disappointing:
Very little practical storage space in the room.
Power sockets not in the best room positions.
Only 2 coat hangers in the room, although Caroline did obtain some more for us.
No lift as it was a Grade 1 listed building - not made clear when booking !
Our room was also changed and we found ourselves having tackle 4 flights of stairs ! Which my Wife found difficult !
The Hotel is full of character and set in a lovely location, with Golf and Spa facilities close at hand and within close distance to Canterbury.
Despite the minor negatives, we would certainly recommend Broome Park for a country break !

Beautiful stately home converted into a hotel. The room we had was in the East Wing with a large Georgian bay window and a four poster bed. We had lunch on arrival which was excellent. Unfortunately the breakfast was dismal. We expected a proper cooked breakfast but instead there was a buffet laid out which was very bland and cold. It left a of sour taste on our stay. Literally. Other than that the staff were excellent.

Second time staying here and the lodges in the grounds are great for families, really spacious and comfortable.

Pool area was much cleaner this time but the pool on our first day was freezing cold making it unpleasant to swim. It had warmed up by the second day though so this was quickly sorted.

Weather was bad so didn’t do the woodland trail but it’s lovely and fun for the kids.

Didn’t eat in the restaurant but used the bar which is cosy and a good range of drinks options.

The grounds and property itself are lovely. My lower stars are for small maintenance things - broken bedroom blind, kitchen hob kept turning off. Curtain tie backs broken. All small things that wouldn’t take them much to fix. The pool was very cold this time around. However, this is our 5th visit. We love the place and the staff are second to none. More then makes up for a few little niggles. Lucy on reception is an asset!

Girls weekend away in a perfect location
We stayed in a lodge which was beautiful.quiet area around and a lovely walk nearby with beautiful scenery.The main hotel buildibg was stunning also.

Weekend with my daughter!

The hotel was amazing the architecture and grounds are simply wonderful! Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom and the food and restaurant, bars and lobby were all great!
Unfortunately the room was very hot and it was difficult to sleep and the pool was very disappointing! The pool area really needs a clean and upgrade there a lot of hair in the pool and the floors in the poolside changing rooms were very dirty!
However overall we would still return to this hotel but just not use the pool!

The room was beautiful, clean, tidy and comfortable.

The Peacock Restaurant was awful, both the food and service were atrocious.

We were ignored by staff on multiple occasions. Whether that be in the bar or the restaurant.

The he golf course lovely but challenging the golf shop were helpful and accommodating.

Would not visit again.

Staff very friendly and the lodge I stayed in was immaculately clean and well appointed with crockery, cutlery and kitchenware. Sadly the pool wasn't available either day of our stay which was disappointing as it looked so nice on the website and was the real reason we booked.The staff didn't seem very surprised which made me wonder how often it is open.
