We were allocated a disabled room as requested, on arrival we noticed that the corridor leading to the room was cold and on entering the room it was very cold. Presuming the aircon had not been activated I tried to switch it on to no avail. I went to the receptionist to ask for advice on how to turn it on and after checking on his computer screen he informed me that there was no heating at all in my room, but would provide two fan heaters for our use. When we switched on the heaters, the noise was so loud we could not hear the tv! After a sleepless night I asked the receptionist why a room with no heating was allocated to an elderly disabled person in the middle of the winter period, I received an apology and said she would mention it to her superiors. After we left we received a phone call to say we would be receiving a full refund...We have still not received it!

Our first overnight stay at this particular Holiday Inn Express hotel, but probably will not be our last. The whole interior of the hotel including the reception area, bar and restaurant area, communal areas and especially the rooms have all been refurbished, and apparently fairly recently, to a very good standard. There is plenty of parking available at a cost of £4 per 24 hours.
From the reception desk staff to the bar and reception staff, they are all extremely friendly and helpful.

Our room was very spacious, well appointed including an iron and ironing board. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The room was very quiet and extremely clean. The only disappointment was the wafer thin toilet rolls.

The bar and restaurant area is also very spacious and comfortable. We ordered a pizza which was delicious and hot. The same area is used to serve breakfast which was plentiful, hot and a good choice of hot and cold dishes.

It was really late when me and my partner got to the hotel after a long drive and then hotel staff were lovely and super friendly and got us checked in really quickly.

The rooms were spotless and the breaksfast was amazing. It was not a far drive from the Eurotunnel the next day and would reccomend this hitel if your going to the Eurotunnel.

Very good all round ! Except pet-friendly charge excessive compared to all the other Hotels we use regularly! Who normally charge between £6-£20 and are sometimes free. With the additional car parking charge now it is making our stay with you be carefully thought about. Shame you are becoming a bit Corporate greedy!!

The staff were great, the breakfast is put as one of the best points of the hotel. On the Saturday it was all cold I don't think the serving plates were switched on. I know not the hotels fault but kids running about and shouting at 10pm and 5.30 am also running over the furniture also dogs on furniture. Bed comfy but sofa scruffy lots of stains.

Early morning train to Calais so did not want to take a chance with the traffic/weather with our drive from Leicestershire. Hotel is conveniently placed about a 10 minute drive from the Channel Tunnel. Room was large/clean & quiet. Lots of restaurants within a 10 minute drive; we ate at a small Thai which was really good.
Breakfast was good and quick. Overall have paid much more for less.

I booked a double room but had a bed that was two mattresses pushed together, at did not even stay together! My room had an adjoining door to the room next door so i could hear everytblhing on the other side, the television did not work due to no internet signal, and the heating was so poor we woke up freezing! Terrible run down hotel.

We only stayed one night with a 5:30am start. The check in was extremely easy and I must say Cameron went out his way to be pleasant to everyone. Jo in the restaurant was also very good and pleasant nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff and the hotel and management should be very proud of them.

Hotel quite tired. It was “ok” and serviceable. Walls were very thin so noise from corridors and next room. Parking charges were a surprise and frustrating, wouldn’t expect them for a holiday inn, and it’s not exactly a city centre location. No signage to indicate you can validate in reception for a discount just big signs prompting to pay immediately. I got blocked in the morning by a delivery driver. Breakfast wasn’t great. Usually expect holiday inn express to be a bit above other similar band hotels but this time it wasn’t great. Staff were friendly enough.

Great hotel, clean and comfortable. Room was very clean, comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast was good, usual breakfast items, well presented. We loved the make your own pancake machine. Reception staff were on hand at check-in/check-out and were very friendly. It is about a 15minute drive to Le Shuttle. There is also a Tesco, 10mins away for fuel and snacks.

Not clean at all. Staff tried to be helpful and pleasant, but they were untrained in food handling. New parking charges are a pain in the neck - an additional hassle when checking in for four measly pounds - a real pain. Plus £30 charge for dogs is too much, plus our room smelt of dog wee ! Not a good stay.

Staff verygood. Room pretty tired and only 1 set of towels. Asked at reception for another bath towel, which I was promised.
Never came.
In the morning we had one towel between us both to have a shower.
Overall, very tired, and extremely over priced. Living on its laurels due to proximity to the tunnel.
