No sea view as such but very close to the beach.

The hotel looked fine online and upon arrival, staff super friendly and welcoming…

However, the room was exceptionally poor. Entrance was via the Indian restaurant…literally walking with my case between tables…not particularly appealing. The room was beyond tired.. almost dead. Carpet dirty and torn, curtains ripped and although a fan of shabby chic, this was only the former. Desk looked as if it had newly arrived from a skip.
The bathroom looked clean but I did not try the taps etc.

Bed linen looked acceptable but not keen on sleeping in the room. The aroma of damp caravan was very off putting.

Incredibly disappointed and after 10 mins in the room, I left to stay at another hotel.

It’s a shame, as staff very friendly and I felt terrible for leaving….I would strongly suggest avoiding this establishment.

We asked for a quiet room with a sea view but the first room was clearly not going to be quiet so we were given another room which was perfect. It had a huge picture window with great views of the sea. The room was newly decorated, comfortable bed but tired furniture.

We booked it as it was dog friendly as it was. The bed was very comfortable and the facilitates adequate.

The room only had very small windows so there was very little ventilation and it was very difficult to sleep. We found a fan which was of some help however, the dog did get stressed.

Great budget hotel

Really friendly welcome at reception and we quickly got our keys for two twin rooms. The rooms were fine, clean and comfortable.

We used the hotel to stay overnight before a Channel Tunnel crossing which was just 10 minutes away.

It was the cheapest hotel that I could find in the area and exceeded my expectations. The decor was improved from the hotel's appearance on Channel 4's \"4 In A Bed\" a few years previous.

Slightly disappointed that they don't offer breakfast, but Gingers in Hythe was excellent.

Cheap but you get what you pay for

Friendly staff but a very tired hotel in need of decoration. The room smelt stale, which made it unpleasant. We had the family room which was on two levels, with the bathroom on the upper level - this was actually dangerous as the door leading out of the bathroom led almost directly onto a staggered staircase so there was a real risk of stumbling down the stairs. The car park was full of rubbish and unsecured and my car was covered in a sticky liquid (probably lager) when we left in the morning.

Incredibly noisy room opposite a nightclub so couldn't open the window despite it being incredibly hot with no air-conditioning. Bed was small and uncomfortable. Peeling paint and exposed wiring. Decor and carpets etc look like they haven't been touched since the 1980's. At least the bed and toilet/shower seemed clean.

A short overnight stay after spending day at Ashford outlet nearby.
Very reasonable price even though room were quite basic but decent TV, coffee and tea was useful.

The hotel is small, but it has a big heart! All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. It seems the property is undergoing some renovation and refurbishment but this did not hinder our stay at all.

Bear in mind it is an old building and the rooms are quite small. However, our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was clean and had good water pressure.

At the time of our stay there was no breakfast service but this was not an issue because across the street is the Waterfront Restaurant and about 5mins walk away there is a lovely little cafe serving delicious breakfasts and a range of coffees etc.

We would highly recommend this lovely, friendly little hotel and will definitely stay here next time we are in Hythe.

Basic hotel that’s comfortable with sea views.

A basic hotel that provided for our needs of a hotel close to le shuttle. We had a tv in each bedroom and a view of the sea. The check in staff were lovely and so welcoming.

Hot, hot, hot!

The room was unbearably hot and the windows hardly opened and the fan provided did little to cool the room down. Stairs creaked like crazy, issues with the water pressure in the room but the bed was comfortable.

The room we stayed in for a night was freshly redecorated, clean and big enough. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had to pay £20 deposit that was returned straight away after we checked out. The walls are a bit thin but it didn’t bother us too much. As for parking there is a car park behind the hotel, not sure if it belongs to it, but there are parking spaces on the streets around, not sure if all of them are free though. Location is great.

Fantastic break

From the moment we were checking in, to the moment we left the Hotel, we were greeted by friendly helpful staff and they were pleased to help with all our requests.
The location is fantastic and the views are AMAZING!
We had a sea view room and I'm so glad that we did as you can just lose yourself watching the world go by on the street and beach below.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby and if the beach isn't your thing then it's lovely to just sit and relax, or hire a rowing boat along the canal.
We had a wonderful short break staying here and will certainly look forward to returning in the future.

A wonderful find!

We booked this hotel to be close to the leshuttle and were all so pleasantly surprised by how wonderful it was. Right on the beach, with the most incredible views. A fab beach bar restaurant just next door & a 10 minute drive to leshuttle. The hotel itself was clean, fresh and the staff absolutely wonderful. Great bar available with huge selection of wines & other drinks & lovely seating areas both inside and out.
Great value for money too. Our room was spacious, very clean & had everything we needed. It was on 2 floors too so brilliant if you’re travelling with children & want separate spaces.
It took a while for us to park but when we did it was just outside the hotel & completely free so cannot complain!
This morning we walked 10 minutes down the seafront to a place called The Lazy Shack (as recommended by the hotel) for breakfast - absolutely superb 👌
Overall, absolutely superb experience. We’d definitely go back & can highly recommend.

Ok. Nice position right on sea front.

The hotel is old and tired. Our room was pretty small. The soap dispenser for the shower was empty and the one for the sink the cover kept falling off. Reception was good and welcoming but we were disappointed to have to pay a £20 security deposit which was refunded later today as we left early. The most annoying charge though was £15 for our little dog. We could understand if a deposit was taken & refunded if the dog caused no problem, as in our case, but to charge that much for nothing is irritating. Most places we have stayed in recently do not charge for a small well behaved dog.

Firstly I’ve never ever had to hand over a security deposit of £30 ever.
The toilet in my room did not flush and the shower head fell off under water pressure each time it was used. I was lied to when I was told all had been fixed when I returned to my room in the evening. So I had no toilet and a shower that required holding onto when it was being used. Appalling

An ok stay, but communication needs to be improved

It was fine, our only issue is with the communication, we informed them we were bringing a dog (we didn't in the end, because only my wife went) and never heard anything back. When my wife arrived she was informed she would have been charged an extra £15 if the dog had been there - this is fine, but why was I never told that?

She also had to pay a £20 deposit, again I don't see anywhere that told me this would be the case.

And also a 1p charge because Expedia don't take the full cost??? I've never heard of this before.

However, the room was comfortable and clean and the staff were very good.

Interesting place. Ex illegal immigrant hotel now spruced up & reopened. Spotlessly clean, great check in, struggling to equate the room rate to the hotel standard. But, they're giving it a good go with a pretty tired building. Price it cheaper & I'd have given a top rating. Tip - let the water run for a good few minutes and you'll get a shower

Noisy room

We were kept awake by the constant humming of the boiler below our room. We thought it was the bathroom fan but when questioned they said the boiler affects 2 rooms. No offer to change rooms was made. Do not have room 106 unless you like a bit of noise.

Great stay for the second time.

We love it here. The views are excellent. Only a 3 star but we have no problems. Evening meals are great, breakfast is to be avoided. It could do with a maintenance man on the outside: could do with painting in places and needs some gardening. As it is, it is fine but could be outstanding with not much effort. We will be going back.

Not happy atall wont be going back

The hotel stunk of curry all weekend even the fresh towels we got delivered to the door stunk to the point we had the window open all weekend and heaters on. On arrival the receptionist demanded £50 a night deposit.
When using the shower the toilet backed up and had water on the floor the net curtains were missing on the balcony type room and windows covered in bird poo not happy atall

Ok for a night's sleep, needs thicker walls.

Nice view, but building structure is pretty old, walls are extremely thin. We could hear our neighbour snoring at night, and hear our neighbours going up/down stairs, opening and closing doors as if they were within our room.
