The room was incredibly spacious, even for a family of four, it had ample room. The room was absolutely spotless and had an incredible view of the sea. There was a warm welcome and all details were given and we were able to park immediately out the front for a £6 charge, which was all efficiently taken care of. Considering the cost too, this far exceeded our expectations and was conveniently 10 minutes away from the Eurotunnel ahead of our morning trip.
If there was a downside, it was that one of the beds was very squeaky! Easily fixable I am sure though. I would recommend based on the room we stayed in, definitely. There was also a chocolate on each bed, fresh towels and bottles of water, as well as tea, coffee and sugar. The heating fired up very quickly and was even too warm at one stage - that was on us though!

The hotel was excellent, especially considering the very reasonable price we paid. Although an old building, it was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable.
We also had a room with a sea view, and the hotel was 2 minutes walk from the lovely promenade.
The lady that checked us in was very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is also very convenient for the Channel Tunnel. Highly recommend.

One of the best things about Folkestone is how peaceful the seafront is, because there are no cars racing along it. The Westward Ho is in a dream position, with stunning sea views, calm and quiet surroundings, and gorgeous walks along the undercliff into central Folkestone and the harbour. Our room was good, though the shower and the sashcord windows were a bit ropey and needed a bit of attention.

There was a mix up with our room whereby someone else had been given it before we arrived although they hadn’t used it at all. The only problem with this is that the couple who thought they were in our room and had gone out for the evening arrived back and came into our room at 12.15am. The hotel staff had done their best to contact them during the evening but to no avail they even put a note on the door to tell
Them their new room number but they even missed that. Everything else was fine though friendly staff and clean rooms albeit hot as the windows wouldn’t open very far. I would stay here again

It was a great stop off with a room for 5 of us which i found difficult to find elsewhere. Room was very clean and well presented. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakgast is continental with lots of options. There was something we all liked. Great walking spot particularly as we had our 2 dogs this was a particularly good feature.

After staying several times at the Westward Ho hotel, I’m always pleased with the no-fuss, friendly, clean, and professional atmosphere. Once again, the staff did not disappoint – the guy at check-in was super friendly and helpful (sorry I didn’t catch his name!).

For the first time, I booked my stay including breakfast – and what a pleasant surprise! Karen, who was there bright and early at 7:30 am, welcomed everyone with a warm smile and professional service. Thank you, Karen!

It was great to have cereals, fruit, toast, and croissants available just downstairs – very convenient and a lovely start to the day. Definitely check it out, and be sure to say hello to Karen from me!

A lovely hotel with spacious, clean rooms and a convenient location, just a short walk to the town centre, and only a 15 minute drive to the Le shuttle terminal. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out quick and hassle free. The continental breakfast was simple yet enjoyable , and catered for allergens upon request.

Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay. We would happily return and recommend it to others.

Victorian seaside home - beautiful views!

Beautiful Victorian property, in a lovely area with stunning sea view. There are lots of amenities within walking distance including supermarkets and shops.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating, with a reasonable degree of local knowledge.

The room we stayed in was basic but comfortable. Wi-fi was reasonably good but the mobile signal on our network was atrocious (not always a bad thing). The bed was lovely and comfortable. The carpet was thick and comfy underfoot, but had definitely seen better days.

The only negative thing of note is that we had an en-suite with a toilet and shower (the shower was perfect btw) - but the door was a sliding door which didn't lock, and the toilet was about 4 feet away from the bed! So, if you are going with your partner but you aren't at \"that\" point in your relationship yet, this may not be for you. Or just bring noise cancelling headphones like we fortunately did.

An old property as many are in Folkestone, but not all rooms are like the photos on the website!
Our room was very small, a private bathroom down a flight of stairs. Yes lit all night but when you are pensioners with a few joint problems that becomes difficult.
The room was up many flights of stairs so two suitcases and two other bags are not easy. Quite narrow and difficult to manoeuvre up and down.
On leaving they did offer us some assistance but as were half way down by then there was no point.
We thought, when we paid for the room it was Bed AND Breakfast. Seems that not the case as we were charged a further six pounds for breakfast. Why is it called B and B if breakfast isn’t included?
On the whole the staff were great and friendly. But in busy times I would imagine there to be chaos around breakfast time.
I don’t think I can recommend this establishment to anyone over fifty years of age unless you are travelling very light and are very fit

We arrived late. But staff was accomodating and attended. She guided to free street patking which was not far. As nearby street needed permit and were full. Shower was working , had hot water but pressure was very low . Not sure if it was deliberate or just being at 3rd floor. Breakfast was average. But staff presented servef fresh tea and coffee witj milk which was great.

The area around the hotel was good, but there was giant dog blocking the entrance with it’s owner while we were going to our room and the kids were petrified.

Staff didn’t refill the shower kits for the second day. No hair dryer available.

We loved the area and the view was very nice from the window.

Good position as 2 mins from sea front. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean room and comfy bed. Also nice and quiet. Windows opened easily to get some fresh sea air. Manager helped sort out payment for parking, as online, only the hotel can do this! I would certainly stay here again. Just didn’t like the free water bottles in the rooms, there’s water available from the bedroom sink, we don’t need more plastic! Also lots of little plastic bottles for shampoo etc. It’s very kind but not sustainable, so not kind to our planet! Don’t be afraid to make a stand as a hotel. Simply put a poster up to explain. A tiny block of soap if needed at all would be better. Most hotels are trying to be more sustainable too.

There was an awful smell throughout the hotel, like drains or a portaloo. The beds in our room (6) were terribly old and uncomfortable, every time you moved the children woke up as they were so squeaky, the mattresses were discolored and stained.
The bathroom was old and in great need of modernization, the shower didn't work, however the maintenance man sorted it out straight away. We were only provided with one towel each. Toiletries and chocolate was a nice touch. However we would not stay here again. Lovely view and position. Not quite sure why this hotel has 8/10 score. (this is why we booked it) Shame as it could be really nice with some updating and new beds.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a car parking space, £6 overnight which was extremely convenient in a private parking lot/garage opposite the hotel.
You can also get a parking permit on the road outside for £4 if you're lucky enough to get a space.
The room was standard, but big with plenty of space, beds were very comfy and cosy and towels were lovely and soft, it included bathroom and toilet, some rooms don't and are on a separate floor.
They offer a continental style breakfast which we didn't try as we were looking to have hot food so we went out.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would visit again

Great little b and b with very friendly hosts. This is not a five star hotel, but had loads of lovely touches like tea and coffee, water, chocolates etc. Comfy and very clean, and they allowed us to keep our (clean) bikes in the room for the right before our ferry the next day. Breakfast was lovely, and did exactly what it said on the tin. Quiet area, albeit on a slightly less salubrious end of town - but we walked to and from town with two young children along the sea front for dinner and had no issues at all. Highly recommended.

Maybe the beds and mattresses could do with an update, but they were fine overall. We had breakfast delivered to our door in the morning as we were leaving early, good little selection and good quality food, we didnt eat the yoghurt tho as they were warm.

Ok I'll admit I had extremely low expectations for this place, it was literally half the price of the premier inn and holiday Inn express which I tried to book first but they were full.

So I booked this place fully expecting some terrible experience. I feel ashamed because not only was the staff member who checked us in, lovely, friendly and accommodating the hotel itself was clean, fresh, had lovely big spacious rooms, lovely sea view, fluffy towels with complimentary toiletries, water bottles and coffee/tea making facilities, and abundance of plug sockets including usb charging near the bed.

Shower had good water pressure too, bed was comfy (I would say personally I like a hard mattress) but this was soft. However can't knock them for my personal preference.

I had a decent sleep, other guests were generally quiet, sea gulls can get a little noisy early morning but don't book a hotel by the sea of that sort of thing irritates you.

There was secure garage parking available for a small fee if you have a motorbike it's ideal.

Would definitely stay again.

Noisy rooms with paper thin walls, light showing around the doors so the room wasn't dark at night. We heard everyone come and go and could even hear peoples phones. Blinds in the bathroom didn't work and the window wasn't frosted so the whole street could see me in the shower. No pressure in the shower and dog hairs all over us and our clothes.

The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room was very basic but the bedding was clean. We were only there for one night and we left very early so didn’t have breakfast.

The toilet and shower was crammed in a very small space and we had a wash basin in the bedroom, the shower/toilet has obviously been added to the room to allow for an ‘en suite’.
The room was adequate for the price we paid.
