Staff were absolutely incredible. Dianna on reception was courteous, polite and ever so helpful. Thank you for making me feel like home during my stay. Dianna and her amazing team even helped out by washing and drying some clothing. Mid way through my work trip it was as a relief to know I had clean business and personal clothing. The young bar staff were also very kind and welcoming.

Golf views even if you don’t play golf!

We were a party of three adults staying two nights so that we had an easy journey over the weekend to get to the Steam Rally at nearby Woodchurch. Excellent base as views from the room were great, the balcony just right to sit and watch the sunset, and the beds were comfortable.
The only negative comment being the restaurant tables, which had a very sticky feel to them. The waitresses wiped them down thoroughly but it seems this affected the surface of the tables! However the food was excellent and we all enjoyed the breakfast and evening meals there.

Highly recommended

An overnight stay with breakfast and requested spa access. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Excellent facilities, beautiful and immaculately clean room with a wonderful view, very pleasant friendly staff, great breakfast. A perfect stay.

Friendly welcoming staff. Lovely views over golf course. Very good costing of room and breakfast included. Staff very helpful as requested earlier check in as had a wedding to attend at nearby venue. Supporting us with our request enabled us to stay at the wedding venue without the need to return for check in part way through the wedding celebrations.

Lovely quiet area. Receptionists were polite& helpful.
Breakfast was nice but the staff didn't check if there was enough food left for diners, therefor we had to tell the staff if we could have more sausages, scrambled eggs etc. It also took a long time for them to be replenished .

Nice hotel very dated, I would like to point out that I booked this hotel as part of a trip for my Anniversary,but on hotels .com it states that it has a spa and swimming pool !, but on arrival we were told that the pool and spa have nothin* to do with the hotel and that if we wanted to use it !it was £25 per day ! But that it was fully booked anyway!. We enjoyed our stay

The view from the rooms are fabulous. A bit disappointed with the Sunday roast , for the price ,and where we had to eat it . In the Conservatory .!
But if you are Golfer you should enjoy your stay there .

Basic hotel with high price

Not as nice as the photos portray. Very tired fixtures and fittings. Receptionist slow to arrive and then telephone answered in priority to us, and we had been waiting a good 5 minutes for attention. Don’t feel the need to return. For the price charges £117 including breakfast for 2, it did not meet our expectations.

The hotel is very quiet and set in fabulous countryside. The room was well up to Premier Inn standard, but the food was not. On arrival we eat in, but the food was so poor we could not face it the next evening. The breakfast is well below Premier Inn standard.

Dated and overrated. Lovely balcony / location but 2-star breakfast. Also you book and they hold 50% as non-refundable and only then tell you you can’t access pool / spa, which was really naughty.

It's difficult to give a truthful review without appearing unpleasant, and I don't want to be.
We stayed in this hotel last year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our stay this year but while the staff and the hotel itself are both excellent, it feels like not enough money is being spent on maintenance.
The room was enormous and great but.... Cleanliness poor. I dropped a small tablet by my bed on the Wednesday night and because of my health condition, I couldn't bend down to pick it up. 4 days later the pill was still there! A light was broken in the bathroom, why it hadn't been noticed and repaired? On both sinks, the plugs were out of adjustment. They would neither close properly to keep water in the sinks or open properly so water would drain away.
The shower didn't drain properly so after a minute or so the shower tray was overflowing.
Lovely heavy curtains on the patio doors onto the balcony that were brilliant at keeping out the bright sunshine. Only trouble was that one of the curtains had a massive rip in the lining that just looked bad.

Nice hotel but lack of services.

Nice hotel located fairly near to Chapel Down Winery which was the reason for our trip. None of the facilities except the very small bar we’re open to us as guests but we were informed of this. We were however invited to order in takeaway food and were given some restaurant suggestions. We were very surprised by the number of ‘corkage charge notices’ and the very high cost especially as most services were closed. Our room was very spacious with nice balcony. Bathroom was simple but clean. Breakfast continental - would have benefitted from some boiled eggs but otherwise OK.

Great for golf but not much else

Booked as we thought we would have use of the spa - wasn’t available and if it was the pool has an over 21’s policy so no good for young families.
No restaurant open on the evening. No chef for hot breakfast option. Staff were pleasant and helpful enough but not what I expected

I was lucky they made me breakfast each day as it was early - thank you.

Shame it was not listed that the pool was not open (that was the reason I booked) and no food available on site. Only told when i asked about opening times. Not also allowed to run a tab on my room even though I was there for 4 nights.

No hair dryer missing from room and had to ask for extra towels - no extra water /tea /coffee for the 4 nights stay.
I know Covid rules but just rather disappointing.

Was a bad experience, room was dirty with bodily fluids on the bed and when I complained the women on the desk basically said it would be hard to clean since we've basically opened the door and been in 2 minutes. Never even said sorry.

Good hotel - better staff

Pretty nice hotel - a little bit dated and the bed was quite small - tiny flat pillows!
Staff were lovely though, really friendly and the food was quite nice - nothing special but pretty good.

They offered us a discount on the spa as well given we would only be able to make use of it for an hour or two by the time we arrived

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was not as good as it could have been. We got one hash brown that was very overcooked, one mushroom, eggs were fine but the teapot was cold. We asked for another one which was hot this time. The hotel was very reasonable for the price.

The only thing we didn't like about the hotel was the noisy slamming doors of the rooms. It was impossible to close the doors quietly which gave us a very disturbed night.

Overrated hotel

It was my 7th year anniversary with my partner and too celebrate we wanted to stay at a luxury hotel. Unfortunately this was not a luxury hotel. We paid £330 for 2 nights in a double room. This hotel was not worth this amount.We wasn't allowed to use the spa and would have had to pay an extra £50 to use these facilities which we couldn't afford to do. If we had paid £100 a night we would have been satisfied with this hotel. Its 3 stars on the reception door and says 5 stars at the entrance to the hotel. We feel like we have been ripped off. We were really disappointed with the overall quality of the hotel and it ruined our weekend. Also the wifi was not working for a full day/night of our visit

Pleasant but not great hotel.

Pleasant hotel although a little tired . Could do with a bit of modernising. Huge air conditioning unit in one corner of room.Under floor heating.Tea and coffee ( although no tea bags in ours) in room. Bathroom ok, super shower and huge towels. Out of town,super views over golf course.Restaurant and bar, but only full meals after 6pm. No snacks or light bites at all. Didn’t want a full meal but could have done with a light snack. Went to bed hungry! Good breakfast next morning. Friendly staff at breakfast and in reception. Good free WiFi.

Good hotel with great countryside views

We stayed here because it was close to Benenden hospital, where i was due to have a few nights stay, so ideal for my husband to be able to chill out and walk, swim and have a massage while he waited for me to be discharged. The room had a balcony overlooking the golf course so felt very spacious. and

21st birthday celebration

This was an overnight stay in a spa hotel especially for the birthday celebration. 3 of us booked beauty treatments and we were all looking forward to using the spa facilities but we were told we could not use them as the booking was made through Expedia and it was a basic overnight stay with breakfast. We were told that for a charge of £25.00 each we could use the spa facilities. This was not clear when booking this hotel. However we were allowed to use the facilities for a couple of hours as a favour because we made a protest and pointed out that we were buying treatments. The hotel was comfortable and the food was very good. It is situated in a lovely location with stunning views. It was the attitude of the staff that made us feel uncomfortable. We requested to use the spa and gym the following day and were willing to pay but we were not permitted and given some limp excuse so not a brilliant experience.

The hotel wss fine but quite out dated. The spa facility was excellent but unless you had booked a spa break, there was an extra charge. Usually £25 per person, we got a reduced rate of £10 each but considering we only wanted a swim that was £1 a length!!!
customer service was odd. Not very good. Got in at 11.30pm and a man in jeans was waiting at the door for us, the night porter, bar all closed up and clearly wanting to go off for the night. Could staff wear uniforms? Could they up their customer service level? Can a swim in the pool be included in the rates? If so, we might go again....

I have stayed several times at this hotel and only realised in the most recent visit it is meant to be four/five star.

The rooms are clean and basic. Towels were thin but the toiletries were brilliant!
The staff are the hotels biggest asset.
Breakfast is poor in terms of choice with cold meat and cheese on the menu but not available and a poor fruit salad.
The cooked option however was lovely.
At over £100 a night I expected more

Long list of things you can't do in the room and no effort made to be welcoming or hospitable. General view that you are lucky to stay there and they want to charge you as much as possible for the pleasure.
I left behind a toiletries box and phoned up to check that they had it which they did. To be fair they did send it but charged me £10 despite the fact it cost £4 to send, which says it all.

Good hotel, shame not able to use spa

The hotel needs a little work as tired in some places. Made up for by the staff who are helpful and friendly. The same cannot be said for the manageress of the spa, not impressed to discover was an extra charge and even when prepared to pay was told it was full. I could only see five people in the spa area.

This is the first time I have stayed at a hotel with a spa, not been able to use it and also it has not been included in the rate.
