We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip. Cleanliness is very important to me and the room and common areas of this property were very clean. Our bed was very comfortable. We were pleased with the value- we try to prioritize Marriott because they rarely disappoint us and we were so happy this was under budget for us.

It was a treat to have the Soda City market right on site on Saturday morning. Transmission Arcade is a few blocks down. The art museum is right across the street and we enjoyed the Keith Haring exhibit. It is about 30 mins away from Congaree National Park, which was an affordable rideshare drive. If you’re visiting to see any of these attractions, this is the hotel for you. :)

The night receptionist was not the most cooperative person. Whenever I come to Columbia I stay here. Never have I met a receptionist like this young lady. The room was not as cleaned as I’ve seen them in my prior visits. You may need to check on your staff and their work ethic.

The staff was great on my visit. However, the property is run down and not well maintained. It was not the Hilton experience I hoped for or that I've had in the past. I didn't have hot water for a shower. The room had a strong smell from a recent cleaning that was almost overwhelming. The carpet in my room was wet from cleaning when I went in. Not a great experience to me.

The property has a beautiful lobby but the hotel is an old property. At first che k- in the room 1020 smelled strongly of mildew. I asked to be moved to another room which was 1012. There was a faint smell of mildew so i brought stand alone and spray air freshners. The room was clean. We had to report that the bathroom sink was draining extremely slow so they sent a engineer. No pool at this property. I'm a coffee drinker and prefer coffee outside the room. I never smelled fresh coffee brewing at this hotel.

Have stayed here a couple of times and enjoyed it once again. Nice property, rooms are clean and spacious, the bathroom is nice and the shower is phenomenal. Lots of nice dining options very close and walkable. Have encountered the same desk clerk at check in twice and he is a gem. Breakfast is very good. Quiet neighborhood that feels safe . Only issu this time was the elevator needed to access the car park was not working; had to carry luggage up a couple flights of stairs

Hotel staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on dining. Streets in the city were beautiful and clean and parking in the garage was a breeze.
Saturdays outside the hotel was an enormous farmers market which was a bonus!
Only downside was the pool was closed for remodel when we stayed. Which there was a disclaimer about that before booking. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Getting to and from the parking garage is very inconvenient. You have to take 3 different elevators and walk quite a ways to get to your vehicle. Also they do not valet certain cars because of their value. I would think a more valuable car would be one you would want to valet. Other than that the hotel is great!

I really enjoyed the location and the beds were very comfortable. The property has the potential to be an excellent choice. We checked on our room and the AC was blowing, but it was kind of humid so we put it down to 70 to cool the room down. When we got back, it was very muggy and humid. That night I could not sleep at all because the AC was not working properly and I was sweating all night. We asked the front desk to fix it and they sent somebody up and it was blowing better but after 12 hours to give it time to cool off, it was still very humid. They sent someone up to fix it again and the second night sleep was much better. We really wanted to enjoy the indoor pool but it was halfway drained and not open. Housekeeping was excellent and the showers were hot after a few minutes and decent water pressure. I would definitely stay here again as the market out front Saturday morning was so cute , I just wish the maintenance of the property was better.

Cold Shower

Had to take a cold shower when I arrived and then had the same problem the next morning. Waited for the shower to get hot but made me late for my meeting as they were kind enough to move me to another room just to take a shower. Staff was very nice so hate leaving a negative review.

Below the expected standards of clean

First impression was decent and hotel qas as expected ... communication was a little off initially about how to get to rooms from parking deck (hub@columbia is dorms/apts)
Okay, got over that hurdle (small inconvenience) no big deal
HOWEVER, What was a big deal, was coming into our room after a long drive and having to use bathroom, go in to find someones DNA still on the porcelain thrown .. GROSS GROSS GROSS ... They came in and cleaned it but was forever on edge that whole night ... and rightfully so, i found hair barretts in the corners of the room .. stauns on the table hair on the sheets (long, straight and blonde) mine is short, curly and black.
That means the room WAS NOT CLEANED properly.
I expected more from Marriott, I chose them instead of a boutique hotel because i thought the name would have accountability. I sadly mistaken.
Convenience to the colonial life arena was nice but too many other choices to justify it, if its not going to hold to a high level of standard for cleanliness.
