I would give the stay a higher rating if the staff was more willing to problem solve. The AC was not functioning in our room on a 33C day. No manager on duty, would not refund my money to find another place to stay, no fans available. I ended up waking up in a literal pool of sweat. Frustrating night for an otherwise nice hotel.

great location, but a bit run-down

The hotel has one of the nicest views possible, looking out over the harbour, and our room was spacious and comfortable. It was also lacking some maintenance, with wallpaper coming off the wall. Service in the restaurant was poor and impersonal, and the food was not great (undercooked fish, and a egg-cup size basket of fries even when ordering separately).
In the shower, we found hair sticking to the wall, left behind by a previous occupant - and that while the hotel was supposedly implementing extra cleaning due to Covid. For a hotel that is more expensive than most in the region, this is all severely lacking, despite the view.

Located in a pretty area on the water front however the room was basic (no tea/coffee/water facilities). Staff unfriendly especially in the restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend eating in the hotel, food only ok and we were ignored most of the evening after being sat at a dirty unmade table. There are 3 other restaurants very close by though (independent to the hotel) which served tasty food reasonably priced.
Budget hotel, pretty exterior but basic facilities with standoffish staff.

We had a great stay the location is excellent. The room was comfortable even with the extra bed for my daughter. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The reception staff was very informative and helpful. The only negative point was the bathroom where there was not enough light, the sink was cracked, and there was nothing in the shower to put our own products on other than on the edge of the shower tub.

Huizen is a tiny gem near Amsterdam. If you are driving yourself, this is a great place to stay in order to Park and Ride into Amsterdam. The breakfast was excellent, and our room was very comfortable. The area around the hotel is also very nice and very cute.

Staff at front desk unfriendly, not even off morning when you walk pas the front desk. No help with luggage upon arrival or departure. Extreme noise in room due to event in the wine bar right under our room. This can happen, but please inform guests. Window broke and despite being reported, no action taken. Very noisy with guests making noise during night. Disappointing mainly due to staff.

Quiet little gem in a lovely area

In a lovely purpose-built complex, this hotel is quiet, clean, modern and friendly. The complex offers ample free parking and a number of excellent bars and restaurants, plus views over the canal and harbour. It's only a short walk into Huizen, which is a pretty little town. Our room was clean and well-appointed and the Reception team were friendly and welcoming. All in all, a great find and a relaxing stay.

Comfortable business stay. Excellent location (especially if whether is good). Downsides are unimaginative breakfast food choices and local youngsters enjoying the sunny evening on the grass immediately outside the hotel room (nothing excessive or wrong, just playing music, football and having a few drinks, but very close to hotel rooms as is presumably a public area). A few good restaurants very nearby. Other than one lady at breakfast, had trouble getting as smile - or even eye contact or a hello - from hotel staff !!

The stay was wonderful. The staff was very friendly, and we quick to accommodate us and our friends in rooms close to one another. The location is wonderful. It’s next to a pier and the rooms look amazing, beds are comfortable. It feels very homey in my opinion. I’d definitely go back again whenever we visit The Netherlands again.

Perfect for my holiday

The room was perfect for my needs and with very good and clean shower-room/WC.The rooms are modern, clean and air-conditioned in architecture more reminiscent of New England than Dutch style. I didn't try the restaurant; there are other eateries in the complex and in Huizen (Oude Dorp). There are bikes to hire which is the best way to get around depending on how far you want to stray from Huizen - but I took my own and visited many of the local towns. If you're wanting to go further afield by train you'll need to drive/bus into a nearby town like Naarden/Bussum from where there are good links to Amsterdam and other towns/cities such as Utrecht and Amersfoort (both have amazing towers). Parking in centres just isn't worth bothering with. Everyone is very friendly and almost all speak excellent English.

My husband and I visited the Netherlands for a softball tournament and found this hotel to be a relaxing oasis away from the hustle of a long day of tournament play. The area was amazingly scenic and quiet - seemed like a new development with biking, hiking, sailing, eating, drinking, and enjoying life in mind. The room itself was simple and comfortable - no tea/coffee making tools, but we had what we needed for a cozy stay. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious, though a tad on the pricey side for us to enjoy it every day. I would recommend a stay here to anyone.

Great location and facilities at the harbour. Nice, clean, modern rooms with wooden floors. Lot of different restaurants in the campus. The waiting staff was not customer-oriented and the quality of food was average. Breakfast buffet was ok, but food was not replaced quickly enough causing lot of queues and angry customers.

Picturesque and convenient

This is our second visit to the Nautisch Kwartier. We love the, admittedly recreated, seaside village atmosphere, the lovely views, the comfortable rooms and the nearby restaurants. We also like the convenience of highway access and the nearby train station to get us into Amsterdam. the staff has always been welcoming and gracious. The breakfast is outstanding.

Quite far outside of Amsterdam. 45 min bus with exception on Sundays and Public Holidays when it was much longer. Breakfast was great and there was a lot of choice as long as one did not arrive right at the end! Harbour front was beautiful, going to drive there next time and take bikes as more suited to a cycling or walking holiday instead of exploring Amsterdam. Really beautiful and quiet.

Hotel lovely although watch out for the room deals - they ignore your booking and put you in a small twin - we booked a double and got a small twin - with a little complaining and problems with reception, we were moved to a lovely double overlooking the marina. I was then shocked when I was presented with the bill at the end - the room rate was fine but having to pay for the complimentary water and biscuits on the bedside table is terrible - especially as there are no signs in the room - watch out as these things are not cheap! Oh no tea or coffee making facilities in the room - hence the drinking of the water :-(

Ook tijdens verblijf wordt de kamer niet schoongemaakt, alleen verversen van prullenbakken en handdoeken.
Het onderlaken van bed past niet , geen elastiek en kreukt heel erg waardoor er plooivorming is en dat ligt niet fijn.

Hotel ligt aan de jachthaven, verspreid over meerdere gebouwen , een beetje in Zaanse stijl. Maakte verzorgde indruk, evenals de kamer. Compleet ingericht en schoon. Rustige omgeving, maar geen hoogseizoen, dus jachthaven weinig activiteit. Meerdere eet en drinkgelegenheden, die er goed uitzagen (niet geprobeerd) . Ruime parkeergelegenheid. Vriendelijk servicegericht personeel.

Vi kom hit vid tretiden när incheckningen skulle vara men vårt rum var inte färdigt. Det dröjde närmre två timmar innan vi fick tillgång till rummet. Vi skulle bara stanna en natt vilket gjorde detta extremt störigt. När vi väl kommer till rummet så fungerar inte AC:n. Sängen är obekväm, kändes som att flera sängfjädrar var sönder, någonting var iallafall fel med den.

Vi satte oss på serveringen pch beställde via QR kod på bordet men drycken kom aldrig, vi gick därifrån efter en halvtimme. Vi är väldigt missnöjda med detta så kallade 4-stjärniga hotellet.

Opzich een oké kamer, voor de royal suite hadden we er wel iets meer van verwacht. Het uitzicht was wel mooi. Het verwarming systeem was kapot en er was geen moteur. De oplossing was een klein zeer lawaaierig electrich kacheltje. Het ontbijt was ook niet goed verzorgt de hele tijd waren er dingen op erg vervelend.

Das Fletcher Hotel in Huizen ist eine sehr schöne Anlage im Hafenbereich von Huizen. Das Hotel erstreckt sich über mehrere kleinere Wohn- und Restaurantgebäude und lässt sich dadurch auch schön erkunden. Zusammenfassend macht die Anlage einen hochwertigen und auch gemütlichen Eindruck.

Die Qualität der Zimmer ist wiederum etwas durchwachsen. Der erste Eindruck der Zimmer war gut und vor Allem sauber. Nach einigen Minuten bemerkt man jedoch, dass sich einige Reparaturen aufgestaut haben, angefangen von defekten Lichtern, mangelhaften Kabeln, ablösenden Tapeten oder undichten Duschen. Ein wenig kann man dies auch mit dem Flair einer kleinen Hafen-Anlage erklären. Jedoch ist die Summe der Mängel schlussendlich etwas störend.

Das angebotene Frühstück ist hingegen gut, wobei die Auswahl nicht überragend groß ist. Um in den Tag zu starten reicht es jedoch aus.

Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass ich das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen würde, im der Hoffnung, dass andere Zimmer weniger Mängel aufweisen oder diese künftig beseitigt wurden. Das Ambiente des Hafens ist jedoch den Ausflug wert.

Alles was goed alleen er stond een enorme stoel in de badkamer en omdat mijn man in een rolstoel zit kon hij niet douchen. Ik raad een gewone douchestoel aan. Ook het bed mag wat hoger. Het ging overigens om een mindervalide kamer.

We arrived very late and reception could not find our reservation, which we had made and paid for 6 months earlier.This problem persisted over 2 days when we were given conflicted information and were told we had only 1 night booked (we had 4 nights booked !) or that we would have to change rooms - in the end (after a discussion) we could stay in the same room. Location and place is beautiful, but unfortunately quite a bit of unprofessionalism amongst staff - most of them young and inexperienced without the proper training it seems. Room wasnn´t cleaned on one day and the next day it was after asking a (very friendly) cleaning lady direct. When we returned however it looked like the pillows had been thrown on from afar and the bed/ pillows looked like someone had laid down on it ! The outside spaces of the restaurants were not cleaned when you sat down (bird excrements on the tables where you are sitting down to eat) and poor quality of food and service (again due to understaffing or poor training of these - often very nice - young people). It looks like a staffing / management problem overall, which is such a shame as the property is really attractive and the location beautiful - it could be so much more than it is right now.

Decided to stay here, as hotels nearer Amsterdam were prohibitively expensive. The hotel was very calm, the room was quite small but comfortable, the bed in particular. We could not get the coffee machine to function, but that was a minor nuisance. The breakfast was quite good.

Frühstück enttäuschend. Waren vor einigen Jahren schon mal da und das Frühstück war wesentlich besser.

We waren met 8 personen. Twee hadden een E-bike bij de receptie besproken. Jammer genoeg stond er geen E-bike. Ook waren er 2 schutters kapot in huisje 412. We hebben allen erg genoten en vonden het ontbijtbuffet super.
