It is the only hotel in the area so it doesn't really have to do a lot to ensure it is well used. For a hotel which is supposed to above mid range to use bed toppers is a poor show in my eyes and you can never get the sheets to stay on them. Although my bed was made up every day the floor was never properly swept although to be honest they kept the bathroom immaculately clean. There was no coffee available for the 1st 4 days as they had run out. Not good for a hotel this size and who points it as a special extra..

Decent Hotel between Amsterdam and Utrecht

I was able to find Bastion Almere based on the search function for a location I visited recently.
It is not much of a luxury chain in that it is very no frills - no proper hand soap in the bathroom, based a little out of town, etc.
The bed was very nice and the room itself was quite large without actually containing too much.
The other facilities, e.g. the gym, are limited but still a nice touch, while the free parking is a plus.
The staff are decent without exactly being friendly but they get the job done.

Nothing around, customer service needs work.

Location is horrific, literally nothing around. Check in was frustrating, arrived 30mins before check-in but was told a hard no, the receptionist didnt even check the system... I'm sure not all rooms get finished all at the exact same time, there was defo one room ready.

Bar closed early, we sat for 15mins at the bar before we were told it was closed, despite staff members walking around us.

One of the towels was stained in the room.

Beds were comfy enough, cleanliness was okay.

Staff was very help. I am not Dutch and had to make emergency phone calls. When the party I called answered in Dutch. I was in trouble till the staff desk translated for me. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. The property was very dirty, did not smell good, bathroom did not drain water properly. Breakfast buffet was extremely limited and not worth the price. The cooks never took instructions properly with the omelet. Carpets were very dirty as well. Rooms had weird odors. Booked rooms together but are charged separately at the property.

Spent most of the day out- back to the hotel room in the evenings. Room spacious, bed comfortable.
Superficially clean.
It’s until we removed bed sheets we noted dirty topper.
Dust and mess behind bedside cabinets.
Arm chair with white stains.

If you look for hotel with gym on basic level: that’s the one. If you’re cross-fitter or exercise person in level expert- you might get disappointed. But 10 minutes walking distance- CrossFit and proper gym available 😀

The bald man on the reception was super rude. Very short answers and unhelpful. Not friendly at all, the rooms were barely clean the armchair in the room has white stains all over it. The aircon didn’t work so it was too hot to sleep on a night. So far from everything too which is rubbish.

My stay was terrible. The room was very cold when I arrived. I complained and asked for another room and was reluctantly given one which was also cold. When I complained again the clerk said that this was not his region and there was nothing he could do. I asked if he could call his Manager and he said no he couldn’t. I asked if he could call service and he said they had all gone home.
He was abrupt and had a bad attitude and I tried to explain to him that I was the one paying to stay at the hotel and the minimum I expected was a warm room.

The toilet bowl was also disgusting and stained.

Het personeel had onderling hele slechte communicatie het was een gedoe. Eerst hadden we gebeld met de vraag of we later konden uitchecken dat kon kostenloos tot 15:00 toen we gingen inchecken was het een ander verhaal. We kregen te horen dat we dezelfde dag moesten bellen. Wat we vervolgens deden toen werd er opeens €30 in rekening gebracht. Heel slecht dit! Dan waren de kamers ouderwets vloerbedekking niet gestofzuigd, weinig licht in de kamers, hele harde kussens, geen schone toilet (zaten gewoon remsporen in), heel erg gehorig.
Ook was de receptie heel slecht bereikbaar! Kortom GEEN aanrader.

The staff were very nice but they were few. The grounds were filthy with overflowing garbage cans and ashtrays.
Our first night we opted for dinner in the resturant....bad choice. Sat for a half an hour before someone came and asked if we had been served...the table was never set for us until our food 'finally' came an hour later.
The only plus was our room and bedding were clean.

Lobby and bar area not cleaned or cleared. Food, bottles and trash in lobby area for three hours when I checked in, while staff chatted on cell phones.
Bar area had dirty tables, covered with food and empty glasses for over 30 minutes, completely ignored by bartender and staff.

Somewhere to lay your head

Close to Almere, reception and lounge area is very dark. Breakfast was really bad. It's somewhere to lay your head.

The first whole day(we had breakfast, left the hotel late morning and arrived back in the afternoon) we decided to leave first thing in the morning and returned just before dark for the remaining of our stay.

It was Ok but personally wouldn't stay here again.

Room has its own refrigerator, coffee machine or kettle is allowed to be asked from reception, hair dryer.
If you are lover of walking, it takes 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop. The nearest grocery store is accessible with 20 minutes by feet. However, there is a Japanese restaurant in front of the hotel. It's possible to take away food from there.
The staff of the hotel is kind and friendly. They will check you in earlier, if it's possible.
Oh, by the way, there is no boots cleaning machine in the hall of the hotel. It would be great to have one.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. This is not a luxury hotel but if you want affordable, clean, comfortable and pleasant staff then this is for you. There’s a fridge in your room and safe. Across the road is a petrol station and next room is an excellent Chinese banquet buffet restaurant. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Almere so is in a quiet location. This is our second visit here and definitely won’t be our last.

This hotel was super cute and very comfortable. The beds were great and the bathroom was very modern. We even got a choice between bath tub and standing shower at check-in.
The mural of cows in the room made my heart warm.
The city Center of Almere is very cute and only about a 10 minuet drive from the hotel.
Overall a very great experience at this hotel.

Good if you have a car.

No nonsense hotel. The rooms are good size and it offers breakfast and evening restaurant.

The only real complaint about the hotel is it's location. If you have a car, it's not an issue. Otherwise, it's a taxi to anywhere else.

Located near a motorway and main roads. Bus stop outside the hotel was out of use, but we were able to get a bus 322 from a nearby stop to Almere Poort train station.(Don't try to walk you have to cross 2 major roads.)

Nice for a stay outside the city

Staff is super friendly, the hotel is close to the exit very easy to access. Dinner until 10pm, bar only open 'til 11.30pm (too soon in my opinion for a Saturday night). Room was overall clean (squeaky clean beds!) but some parts were dusty. It was also too cold to sleep (even with air-con off, radiator on -which didn't heat-).

Some wait at the counter until someone showed up, otherwise service was good. The Asian restaurant on the orher side of the parking lot is actually very good, and location is conveniently immediately off the highway.
The room was up to par but the bathroom was amazing, really modern and well laid out.
Wifi worked well, no complaints.

Bathroom not cleaned very well the whole time there. Bed not comfortable. It's basic accommodation and I guess fits the price. I think it should be rated a one star as it meets that criteria. Food menu could be expanded a bit. Breakfast is the worst I have ever experienced. Food runs out, over cooked bacon, omlette bar with no one there, no fresh tea, only continental coffee i.e. espresso. Be good to see some improvements. Staff are really nice and very helpful and polite.

I stayed here for a 1 night business trip to a customer in Almere, for which it was handy. However, directly outside my room was the key card operated security door for all the bedrooms on my floor. It is a heavy door and makes a very loud noise when it self closes. So with guests coming and going at bedtime and in the morning, I had a disturbed sleep. That spoilt what would otherwise have been a reasonable stay, because it was quiet outside, the twin room was fine, and the staff pleasant.

Don't pay for breakfast!!

The staff were really good and all spoke English which was a bonus. We prepaid for breakfast but actually only had it the first morning as it was the worst breakfast I have ever had at a hotel and very very expensive for what it was. Rooms were clean and was great to have a small fridge provided. Tea and coffee making facilities but it was just 2 teabags, 2 expresso coffee sachets and 2 sugars, no milk. Glad we took our own. There's a petrol station opposite the hotel which sells a lot of produces including milk. The sushi house (Fiji) on edge of the car park was amazing and well worth €29 euros each. Over 150 items on the menu, you chose 5 items and can do that 6 times!! 1 item of sushi consists of 3 pieces. We actually only managed to order twice as we were so full and the food was incredible. Drinks were included! I would stay here again but definitely not have or pay for breakfast

I usually use this hotel when working in Almere. The reason I choose the Bastion is location. There are nicer hotels... However it's very clean, the staff are welcoming and the food whilst fairly basic is good.

Provides access to the airport and Amsterdam.

My girlfriend and I along with another couple flew into Amsterdam to begin our 3 week road trip thru Europe. The rooms were comfortable with a mini fridge and free wifi. It's about 10 miles to Amsterdam and the price makes it a better option to see Amsterdam as long as you have a car.

Great Service

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The room was fine. The shower pipes made a very loud sound and I could feel a few springs on the bed. Nothing was unbearable, just maybe something the hotel may want to look into fixing soon. The bus and train trip to Amsterdam was very easy from this hotel. I would recommend this hotel for anyone not wanting to stay right in Amsterdam.

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr Nett, sie haben und toll geholfen.

Leider ist das Hotel etwas außerhalb, ohne Auto wäre man wirklich aufgeschmissen. Auch wenn das Hotel in der Nähe der Autobahn ist, hört man im Zimmer nichts, wenn die Fenster geschlossen sind.

Es gab nur kleine Mängel, als wir ankamen hatten wir noch Fremde Haare in der Dusche und am letzten Tag im Hotel haben wir keine neuen Tassen, keine neuen Müllsäcke und Handtücher bekommen.

Die Tassen waren vom Morgen dreckig und wir haben keinen Kaffe für den Tag der Abreise bekommen.

Wir hatten 2 Handtücher auf den Boden liegen damit diese Ausgetauscht werden, genauso wie auf dem Hinweisschild, diese wurden zwar mitgenommen aber wir haben keine neuen erhalten.

Der Müll würde auch mitgenommen aber am Letzten Tag, vor dem Tag der Abreise brkamen wir ebenfalls keine neuen Müllsäcke.

Alles im einen war es sonst immer Sauber, alle waren zuvorkommend.
