The extra mile when I informed Fleur
that it was cold in the room. She changed my room and brought a electrical heater. Shana did also a very good job and took care of a late check out. My compliments to Anushka to comfort me with double expresso coffee. Marina took care of my lugage.

Due the low temperature and snow during last week in The Netherlands i
I must say the staff did an excellent job. Lina was so kind. Thanks to Tony in assisting me to carry out my luggage into the taxi. Room was clean.

The check in staff was very nice. Except the next day, I went down and asked the desk for a Cork screw, very politely.
The young lady scolded me. Looked at me with a curled lip and told me “NOONE has ever brought wine before”… like I was nuts.
She directed me briskly to the bar, where I was told there wasn’t a corkscrew. It was probably lost. I’m sure I saw corked wine bottles for sale in racks. I asked about the bar upstairs, she said it was closed and shrugged….pretty sure it was set to open very shortly as I had a coffee there the night before around the same time. This staff member was sympathetic and sweet though.

I bought a corkscrew, finally had the special wine I’d been packing from Greece and donated it to the front desk, implored them to keep it for the next guests.
It was like the twilight zone… did not like the young girl with dark curly hair giving me the massive attitude like I was out of line asking for something so common. Hate to say super snooty, it was really just one person that soured me. The rest of the hotel was good.
Some silverfish looking bugs in the room, but not the worst pest to encounter.

Short visit as part of a longer trip to Netherland

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Room was spacious I upgraded to have a bath. We enjoyed visiting Almere and the surrounding area was lovely. We didn’t hire a bike in the end but if we had stayed longer I think we would have the bike paths and walking paths were amazing away from cars. I think I could live here.

The hotel is in a good location with a modern and diverse shopping district a stones throw away. Plenty of selection for restaurants and fast food nearby. A 10 minute walk from hotel to the station and a 20 minute train from there to Amsterdam Central.

The rooms have nice decor and were suitably spacious. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. My one issue was the lack of cleaning service provided during my stay. They only clean rooms on request. Despite requesting this through the online guest service and again with reception staff my room never received cleaning throughout my four night stay.

I would likely return again for the reasonably priced room and convenient location.

The slight downside in the room 1 plug socket only works with all the lights on and on the other side of the room there's one socket that you have to choose what you want plugged in. Mini fridge, kettle or coffee machine. That was the only downside

Did us perfectly for a quick but of parkrun tourism to Almere. Whilst Almere might not have the bright lights and entertainment that Amsterdam has to offer, the facilities of the hotel and the brewpub underneath were ideal for an overnight stay. Would definitely recommend.

It is right next to shopping area. There are several restaurants and eateries around. Full of activities. 15mins walk from Almere Centrum train station but you dont realize as you walk through the shopping streets till you reach the hotel.

However, we didnot like the following things,

1. SILVER FISH ALARM.. we stayed
with kids in a family room. The rooms were filled with silver fishes. I asked them to change as within an hour we killed dozen of them. They gave us a different room but same story. Silver fishes were everywhere. Hard to get into bathroom as you will see monster sized silver fishes every where and it was very frightening specially for the kids. We cannot keep our things, including our shoes, on the floor.

2. Heaters didnt work. Had to sleep with portable one they gave for 4 nights.

3. Bathroom had sliding glass door without any lock. It never closed and keep opening automatically.

Overall if they fix these, it will be a good place to stay but they dont seem to have any intention. Complained to the reception several times but they were helpless as these are property issues.

The property is way too old. Cleaning is done by request and they forget even after request. The data and menu are all out of date. If you ask why I can't this or that. The answer is the menu is too old and not update, the hotel info is too old and hasn't been updated. The front desk are really nice and great. The rest of the the staff are not on point and they don't care. The area is great and its walkable to all attractions, restaurants, cafe's etc..

Good hotel on a fun location close to the water in the city center with lots of shops and restaurants. The Service at check in was very good . Unfortunately no mini fridge or ac in the room. There was a fan available and they brought it to the room right away. Fun bar restaurant “ the bierfabriek” is part of the hotel .

I wasn’t happy with this hotel. They didn’t mention parking was not free. They didn’t mention about extra charges on daily clean towels. I booked a hotel for 4 days and expected to get clean towels each day and room service. I rather book with bastion that includes everything and no surprises.

Great location. 20 min train ride to downtown Amsterdam. Almere is a modern town. Clean and lots of shopping and dining option all within a 5 min walk. Train station is about a 10 min walk. Only complaint is the rooms are not air conditioned but are \"climate controlled\". We were on the 4th floor and it was rather hot in the room. The staff was excellent and moved us to the 1st floor. Much cooler and more comfortable. Staff is amazing and the hotel was great.

Love the location. Not in the bustle of the town but close enough to enjoy. Was quiet while we were there but could get noisy during peak periods due to the brewery link. Staff are very helpfull ln making our stay trouble free. Joined to a bar with great service and choice so did not need to go far at night. Great parking and on a main train link. Was suposed to be a three night stay why we found other accommodation but decided to extend as we were not able to find anything as good elsewhere.

The place is quite dated. My soap dispenser in the bathroom fell off on its own as it came unglued. You have to submit an online request for your room to be cleaned prior to 10 am local time. I submitted a cleaning request the night before for the next day and my room was not cleaned. Front desk was helpful and friendly.

Great staff, nice decor, but roasting hot in rooms

Firstly, the staff at all times here were superb. Really lovely and friendly and doing their utmost to help. Outstanding. However - the rooms, on the fourth floor anyway - were unbelievably hot. And it was only highs of 21C outside, over night lows around 14C so this shouldn't have been happening. Talking to the staff, there is no AC just some form of climate control which apparently takes a week to boot up from 50% to 100% if needed. Clearly it cannot cope and can't react to peoples needs. I have been in hotter rooms in my travels, but only if the climate was 34C or higher outside. Truly bizarre to have this when the weather was only mild. The window only slant open inwards about a couple of inches so you can't make any difference with this. We had one large fan in the room and the staff gave us another, so this \"eco\" move of having climate control instead of AC means guests are running multiple fans all night. Stupid. So I have to give only 1 star for ECO. Its not eco if it doesn't work. The hotel were able to move us to a bigger room on the second floor for our last night and this was much better. Very nice room and considerably cooler. I have to say though that by \"normal\" hotel room standards it was still pretty warm! The hotel is well located for town centre restaurants, nicely done up and stylish. Short walk to station. Overall very nice if they can sort their cooling problem Again - absolutely 5 stars to all the lovely staff members. They were great.

The room had issues. Towel rack in the shower was not properly attached to the wall & removal of a towel caused it to fall...which in turn caused an injury. One power point in the room did not work. Reading light existed on only one side of the bed & room lights could be turned off only from one side of the bed. Servicing replaced towels unnecessarily. Staff friendly & helpful. Meals in associated restaurant were excellent.

Had Chef’s special - beef burger and chips. Beef burger was really very poor and chips were warm not hot.
My bedroom had 2 holes in the flooring boards which laddered my tights. Needed mending.
No sitting area. Just 2 seats in reception..

The hotel seems very nice on appearance. However, once I had entered my room, it quickly became evident that cleaning is not one of the services this hotel has a focus on. The floor was dirty: sand and dust everywhere. Even worse was that the cleaning had not taken away the trash from the previous visitors. This became apparent because they did not leave their trash in the bin, but in a paper bag that was left on a chair. Paper bag and trash were still in the room when I got there. The bathroom was having some pest issues, with an apparent invasion of silverfish. Would not recommend this hotel.

It's a beautiful hotel and nice service. After reading few reviews, I decided to go with Apollo even though alot of people complain about there a/c I kind of figure it would had been fix by now. I would have given this place 5 stars if there a/c was worth a dam... it super hot and ac barely blows.... other have complain about this and I can see 6 month to ur later still no fix. Area is beautiful and shopping center is steps away from hotel. Staff was awesome. But won't stay again unless they fix AC situation

This is the second, and last time that we stay in this hotel. Coffee maker did not work and bathroom door did not close properly. Bedroom was dirty and walls stained. The hotel needs major maintenance. The neighborhood is excellent and safe with many stores and restaurants nearby.

Fantastic place! Spent two nights here in November and it was just a great stay. The rooms are marvellous and the bar downstairs is terrific. Internet TV made staying in the room in the evenings enjoyable. The beds were comfy and it's got a great location (about 15 mins on foot from the train station). The staff are all really friendly too.
If I was going to be picky, I'd say the breakfast is overpriced and the bathroom needed more light in it. Fortunately, I have a beard and don't need to shave! That said though, if I needed to stay in Almere again I would definitely stay at the Apollo again.

The room, though comfortable and spacious, was not air conditioned. The cooling fan system could not cope, nor did the free standing fan. I understand it's not usually a problem in the Netherlands, but each night was very uncomfortable due to the heat, and the small windows would not open too far.
The staff were great, and the breakfast ample. The bikes we hired were also great.
The brewery / restaurant under the hotel was a lovely experience.

The Hotel location is fantastic. It is near to a modern city shopping center, a lake, restaurants, bus stop, train station, etc. The room is nice and the beds are very comfortable. What needs improvement is the room AC. During this hot summer, it is not cooling enough the room. Hotel reception space is also tiny and easily gets crowded when many people are around. Overall, we love to stay again in this Hotel in Almere but it will not be in summer.

Their is no 24 hour receptionist. I call the customer desk and booked a taxi and the person said cab is booked. The next morning after waiting for hours for the cab I missed my flight to London . I got to understand that the customer desk was transferred to another person who never follow thru with booking the cab. We were very frustrated and had to spend all day at the airport after rebooking another flight.

Hotel was okay. First room we were placed in was right above the kitchen, so it wouldn’t hey under 80 degrees F in the room, then, after a begrudging staff, we were moved to another room. Additionally, our key went defeftive one evening after the lobby closed, and the on-call staff member acted irritated that we needed help; and we proceeded to wait in the lobby for over 30 minutes. Room was clean, brewery attached was fantastic. Good place to stay with some friends, but just be aware the staff is not 24/7.

The Hotel is situated in the Center of Almere City. 5 min walking distance to the Almere Centrum Train Station and within a hundred yards of the shopping mecca. In short, location location and the location can not be beat. Hotel parking underground spills into a fantastic Grocery Store , Cheese Store, Breakfast and lunch cafes. And of course the Bierfabriek ............ truly does not get better than that. A word of caution: The architectural design of the building was most likely created someone sitting at the Bierfabriek who had one too many and as such, was a bit hazy around the building structural properties as they relate to hot air rising, cold descends, circulation, ventilation,evaporation etc etc etc. So if you are going to get a room at the Apolo, make sure that you are placed on the first or second floor the hotel. Due to building's design, There is very little control over the heat and cold sustainment for the top two floors. Other than that, the Hotel is Awesome !!!

We asked for a disabled room because all other rooms had a bath tub with shower over which which was to high to get into.
Also adapted room fine but no hand rails in wet room and floor very very slipy.
Lots of clean towels every day.
Breakfast was very disappointing limited fresh fruit and choice.We stayed at the Apollo a few years ago and food was better and layout of bars not comfortable.
No where to sit to just relax .
Also no easy chair in bedroom.
We where here to spend Christmas with family so used hotel as base.

Clean Hotel and near the city center but...

The Hotel was kept clean very well, close to the city center, staff were very friendly, however the room were lacking alot of stuff.
We had a double deluxe and the room lacked a closet of some sort, hooks or something to hang out jackets. The mini fridge didn't really cool our drinks. The water pressure on the bathroom was horrible that you take twice as long as you normally would when taking shower. Although the room was very clean and had good windows. But one thing we noticed is that the walls and ceiling are so abused and damaged making you wonder what did the previous guests do (for example there's a visible shoeprint on the ceiling....)

Disappointed

I booked this hotel for its location, but unfortunately the air-condition was hot, the bathroom door does not close, the towels are small and worn out, the room windows were very high (I had to stand on the chair to look out). The hotel has no lobby or café/waiting area.

Excellent hotel!

The hotel location was very good. You can either walk through the centrum or get a tram to it. Staff are very friendly. Room itself is clean, spacious, and has a very comfortable bed. Hotel is right next to a wonderful shopping area with many shops and places to eat.
