This is a lovely hotel surrounded by green open spaces. The hotel is newly refurbished so all furnishing in the public areas and the room we stayed in are new. The restaurant serves a beautiful buffet style breakfast and serves a basic but wholesome menu for lunch and dinner. Food quality is excellent and the staff extremely kind and attentive.

Plenty of parking is available but to go to central Amsterdam, the bus is the best choice. The stop is less than 100 meters away and takes you directly to Amsterdam central. The villages of Volendam and Edam al almost within walking distance.

For some reason my room card (room 413) wouldn't work on the 3rd evening, which was a problem as it was after 10.30 in the evening, and i was a single 69 year old traveller. I returned to reception and the card was reset, i returned again to the 4th floor to find it still wasn't working. A member of staff then escorted me to the access door on the 4th floor to ensure it worked the 3rd time.

The room was smelled mold, and spayed air freshener which caused even worse. The worst part was no Wi-Fi internet service in our room. We reported the issue the first day after check-in, but no constructional answers for that. No technician came to fix it or no compensation for the inconvenience. The receptionist kept telling me that they can’t do anything because the manager was not there. And no one knew when the manager will reply the emails to address the issue due to the coming weekends. It was absolutely unacceptable no one in the building taking any responsibility to address customer’s requirement.
We were very disappointed, and won’t recommend the hotel at all.

No one should ever be given the rooms bed the swimming pool. The rooms were miserably hot and nothing was done. It was terrible and we could not sleep.

Very good choice in Amsterdam area

We stayed there several times in the last12 years. The hotel maintains its good quality of service and comfort.
The rooms are large, an excellent breakfast buffet, free parking, and an easy way to go to Amsterdam by public transportation (18 min). Very good restaurant on the premises. We highly recommend it!

The hotel was in a lovely rural location. Hotel bike rentals were inexpensive and incredibly fun. Bike trails allowed us to bike easily to several surrounding small scenic towns. The restaurant was wonderful with great food and ambiance. Our room was spacious and peaceful. We would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arose in our travels.

A very comfortable room and excellent dinners. The bus stop opposite the hotel and a frequent bus service made this hotel and ideal place to stay.
We thought breakfast a little expensive and would have preferred to be able to just have a cheaper continental breakfast.

Worst experience in a hotel, due to the check-out guy who is not professional and really RUDE !
The carpet stinks everywhere, in the hall, in the rooms. The food is quite good though. Never again in this hotel.

We chose the hotel solely for its sport facilities: the gym and the swimming pool. They both were opened in all hours, not crowded and very clean. The gym had good variety of machines and the pool was long enough (16 meters) for lap-swim. We enjoyed exercising each morning before going to tour the city. We used the “Amsterdam & Region” card for all our traveling needs and moved around with ease

Nice hotel to stay a bit outside of Amsterdam. Free parking is great and you can take bus 20 minutes to Amsterdam central station. It is 5 minutes to Volendam city center which is beautiful. I would stay here again if I go back to Volendam.

Short Business Stay

I stayed here for one night during a recent business trip.

The restaurant and bar were friendly, relaxed and welcoming. The food was delicious, one of the best Carpaccio's I have had. The beer on tap was well kept (as a previous bar landlord with high training I can appreciate good beer). The bar team were very smiley, chatty and friendly which is always good to make you feel at ease.

The room was spacious, comfortable and included the always enjoyable espresso machines.

The gym, as an extra charge, was small with a serious stench of "workout" could maybe do with a little more ventilation and attention. Although small, with little equipment, you can still get a decent workout completed and follow with a dip in the pool.

Slight annoyance that to get an iron and Ironing board, you have to walk to reception and fetch it yourself. You then receive a rather pathetic small ironing board that has to sit on the bed unless you crouch on the floor.

Overall, pleasing stay, would probably look elsewhere when next in the area, but wouldn't be offended to return due to the friendly team.

Nice hotel close to bus stop

The hotel was in a convenient location with the bus stop about 2mins walk away, with buses to Amsterdam or to Voldendam and Edam. It was also about a 20min walk along the canal to Volendam, but, in my view, Edam was the nicer village to wander around and explore.
The hotel itself had lots of facilities, including health spa, bicycles for hire, a bar and restaurant. However I was not there long enough to make use of these.
The room was a good size, with a nice view. The wifi was strong and reliable.
Only two negatives in my experience. The rooms weren't very sound proofed, so could hear a lot of noise from other guests. And the shower, while hot, wasn't as powerful as I would have liked.

Although we enjoyed the great hotel amenities and it's cleanliness the taxi service from Schipol Airport that said ' fair rates' charged 150E from Schipol Airport by driving in a zig zag to get there. Take the Bus that is in front of the Hotel with cheap daily rates - buy day tickets from the bus as it's cheaper than the hotel. It goes direct to Central Station where all tours and the Historical Center of Amsterdam are. A short walk from hotel takes you to 2 historical towns that are so picturesque - windmills and antique sailboats.

Overall the stay was okay, disappointed that the hotel advertised a tennis court facility but when I asked where it was one staff member said its down the hall to the left, and the other said we no longer have it? Which was rather confusing. We arrived early and were expected to wait until 2pm for our room to ready. At 2.30pm when asking if we could check in, we were told they have no idea when the room will be ready as " they don't clean the room so we can't tell you". The checkin lady was rather inconsiderate and had a unhelpful tone in her voice.
The waitresses at the restaurant weren't polite at all and took ages for them to take our order. They had about 4 people who were dinning at the time.

Ten euro for bus ticket for unlimited travel for the day.
Cheaper to eat at hotel than AMSTERDAM OR Volendam. Better quality as well. Wish I had found fthis out earlier. Make sure you get the breakfast with room deal you will not be disappointed.
Only 15 minute ride into Amsterdam and buses run every 15 minutes.

One of the receptionists was fantastic. She told us all about the nearby areas and explained all the options we have to visit Amsterdam. We visited Edam, Volendam and Amsterdam. All of which are a short drive by car. The restaurant staff are ok, nothing special.

A good hotel, spacious room & toilet. 25mins by bus from central station. We had a 3 beded room (1single & 1double).Room has a safe & fridge. Would have liked a microwave too. There was a bus strike for 24hrs. & so we had to reture to the hotel from central station by Taxi which was very expensive..€77. The hotel had no pick up facility..

If traveling by car, this hotel is an excellent option to visit Amsterdam as it is only 15 min away. Comfortable room with modern bathroom and nice view of the Dutch country side.

Holy cow!!! From the moment we walked in we knew we were in a luxury higher end hotel, but without the price. Pool, work out, huge TV variety, balcony, slots, best beds ever, awesome shower and great free coffee. When I return to NL, there will be no choice as to where I stay.

Nice hotel clean and well maintained. Helpful reception staff. Went to garden area and gave up waiting for service went to bar and was told they would come over. Seen other guests come in and be served straight away . These happened to be Dutch guests. The road was quite noisy also

I have asked for extra pillow, reception told me to come and get it from front desk

Bathroom tiles are very slippery, I slipped in bathroom as no mats no slippers

A good hotel, clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast buffet ( not included during our stay but at €13,50 pp still worth it) and a very good restaurant.

Close to lots of historical towns and villages.

Happy to recommend this hotel without reservation.

A relaxing long weekend with the children.

I booked this hotel for myself and my two teenage children (16 and 13) as a treat for my 16 year old passing GCSE with great grades. She wanted to visit Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum and my youngest wanted a hotel with a swimming pool. I wanted to be in a quieter area with good food, lovely scenery, good sized rooms and a bar. This hotel ticked everything! The bus stop outside the hotel takes you directly to Amsterdam Central to do the touristy bits (don't pay for a cab from the airport or central station... if I can do it with two kids and only the English language under my belt, you can too). Reception staff were brilliant, very friendly and very helpful (thank you... especially the man that provided me with an adaptor phone charger and iron). The first two days we spent in Amsterdam and the last two days in Volendam town. Before we left each morning we were treated to a feast of a breaksfast which included champagne & salmon (better than 'nice touch' and yes I indulged), fully cooked breakfast with 3 different types of scrambled eggs, bacon was crispy (yay), sausages were in a sweetish sauce and they are addictive, OJ squeezed freshly, fresh pastries and rolls, well everything was there really. I hired the E-Bike from reception for my son and he had a fantastic day on Sunday riding around Volendam on their bike friendly paths. We loved the pool and I loved the cocktails. Old Holland and close to Amsterdam - the best of both worlds. Thanks! :)

Great room and great food.

Our room was quite a walk from the front desk but once we got there, we were surprised by the quality of the furnishing. The bathroom was much better than expected.
We had a very enjoyable meal in the hotel restaurant and took full advantage of the health club.
Very helpful staff, especially the night shift!
I would stay there again.
