Nice hotel, staff very helpful. It is in a quiet part of Amsterdam and it takes about 10 minutes on the bus from the train station. The food was good in their restaurant and we had a lovely view. Breakfast was ok. They also decorated our room due to it being a mini moon. Overall good stay.

The corner room was great and comfortable. It was a convenient location with the no. 48 bus from central bus station taking you there with the last stop. Facilities were excellent with a pool and gym, breakfast was a good standard. Evening meal options satisfactory. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Overall we would recommend this hotel and stay again.

Brilliant with great value for money!!! Arrived quite late but was made welcome from the start. Hotel room with window walls and breath taking view over the water. Immaculately clean with high attention to detail. Nice space with a little kitchen, table with chairs and bathroom. Nice breakfast with all expected recipes. There is a 24H reception bar with light meals.
Young crew with a high professionalism approach.
My daughter left her wallet behind and received a call with instructions on how to get it back.

Summary: Stress free place to rest from all the busy endeavours in the city centre. What happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam :D

This hotel is a 12 minute bus ride from Centraal Station but great value in comparison to staying in the centre and very peaceful and the buses were very prompt, every 15 minutes

I would not recommend this hotel.

After a long flight, we waited for hours to get our room. The bathroom was not convenient, and it flooded out while my sister was taking a shower. I requested another room, which we had to wait another few hours. The tissue box in the bathroom of the room given to us, had garbage in it instead of tissues. Overall, it was a bad experience for myself and my sister.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel, reception and lounge is on 9th floor the views are great, on occasion the reception maybe unmanned but there was a clear notice advising to used the moxy reception located on the ground floor, we arrived about 1pm, receptionist advised us if we joined the marriot membership we could have early access to our room and were upgraded, our room was a studio which was a great space consisting of kitchen area, lounge and very comfie bed, bathroom with a walk in shower, our view was over the port which was great, the staff were welcoming, friendly and approachable, we made use of the pool and sauna, towels are provided, you just ask at the moxy reception, there are lovely clean changing/shower facilities, the breakfast was well presented and good choice of options and it was tasty to, the staff ensured it was topped up and clear of mess,

We came at 10 to drop off our luggage and possibly check in. When we came back at 7 Our friends room was still not ready. The property has a lot of deferred maintenance holes and wall and painted walls exposed plywood. There is very limited dining. And there is no local transportation. We had to use taxis to get around town. The property is also shared by another hotel. It appears they actually run most of the events. We could never find a pool and spa. And for safety sake, they never even told us where the stairs are. I would not be returning to this hotel and would suggest everyone to take this into consideration before booking.

This property appears to be in the middle of a change-over from an existing property. There is no signage visible until you are standing in front of the front door. Do not plan on coming here on public transport, dragging bags. It was more than a mile from our bus drop off.

When booking a hotel we looked at hotels with spa facilities including sauna. This hotel indicates to have these facilities, but unfortunately they are reserved for local swimming lessons at the weekend. So we could not make use of this.
In terms of service, it was minimal. There was no housekeeping and no towels could be brought under the excuse \"because of Corona\". This while in other hotels we had visited last month it was no problem at all and it was simply placed in front of the door.

Wasn’t a terrible hotel but also wasn’t the best. The girls working reception were incredibly friendly and that’s about it.

The heating wasn’t working in my room and I asked 3 times to have it fixed and was given the run around every time. Getting your room serviced is pretty much none existent. I had a huge visible stain on my sheets for 2 days and had to take the sheets off completely for them to be changed. Surfaces in the room were never wiped down. I had tomato soup one night and the cleaning service managed to somehow spill the container in the bathroom (probably when collecting all of the trash) and did not bother to wipe it clean for the entirety of my stay.

Beds were incredible hard I had to ask for an extra padding. There is service to a gym and sauna which is really nice and the complimentary breakfast was great.

It was amazing! I loved how the hotel was away from the craziness of city center but yet, not far & not hard to get to. The staff was awesome and were so helpful from translations to suggestions during our visit. And the buffet was great! It's hard to find a full breakfast buffet with so many options in Europe. I'm a fan of interior design and hotel was decked out with fun, vibrant, and modern styles. I loved it!

This hotel is amazing, slightly out of the city centre, but that was just perfect for us. We like a quite area. It was however very convenient and easy to get to the city from the hotel. The staff madevour stay extra special. All of them extremely friendly, especially Jason and Sandra. I got sick while we were there and they went out of their way to get me what i needed to feel better. The breakfast was also very good. The rooms are a decent size and clean. I loved this place. Totally recommend it.

Great hotel, just a little bit far out of Central Amsterdam if you’re there for touristy things.
Really clean and well kept.
Good links to the hotel underneath called the Moxy too.
This could be made clearer that there are two hotels. When we arrived a van covered the entrance to the residence so we tried to check in at the wrong hotel.

This is located on a very unique peninsula - you overlook a harbor. Boats, including cruise ships, come & go. A bit industrial but cool view. Lovely, new hotel.

It is a 45 minute walk to town / 12 minute bus ride. Totally doable but on the outskirts so plan accordingly.

Worst experience ever!

We attempted to make a reservation on line for this property for two night stay in Amsterdam. When we submitted the reservation form about 45 days before our trip, we got an error message saying “your reservation did not go through. Please resubmit later”. After a while I did as requested and resubmitted the request. Same response as first attempt. After 30 minutes, I resubmitted the original original request. We immediately got a response that our reservation was confirmed, including a confirmation number. Imagine our surprise when we reviewed our bank statement on line to learn this property charged us for three individual reservations for the same dates at the same facility. It took us over 1 month, countless emails and telephone called to get any zero satisfaction from this hotel. Neither VRBO, Home Away or Marriott Hotels International offered any assistance to resolve this issue. A long distance trans-Atlantic phone call directly to the hotel was also a waste of our time plus a $25 telephone charge. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM AT THIS HOTEL. When we got our credit card company involved, they managed to get two of the reservation charged removed from our statement. I was still obligated to pay for one two-night stay that we never used due to how we were treated by this hotel.

Not was I expected. A small hotel, doesn't feel luxurious at all. Hard to put my finger of what exactly bothered me, but overall feeling of 'cheap made expensive'. Worn out carpets by the bed. Body lotion instead of Shower gel in the dispenser. I've been to Marriott hotels before, but this doesn't feel like one and not worth the high price.

The hotel is very new so everything is lovely and clean. Good facilities in the room inc mini kitchen. The bed is so comfortable and big, the breakfast was lovely and just enough for us. Only downside was the location. Quite far from the centre but there is a bus stop at the top of the road which takes you to the train station where you can walk into town. Would of been better if room service was provided but you can use Deliveroo which can be delivered to you on the ground floor

Serviced every 15 mins by the number 48 bus, the hotel is only a 10 minute ride into Central Station.

The breakfast options were plentiful and tasty.

There is a small but quaint bar and relaxing area on the top floor and a gym and pool downstairs. The bar in the Moxy downstairs has more options for those who may wish to have a few cocktails.

The addition of being able to use the facilties in the Moxy Hotel attached to the building was a pleasant bonus.

Our stay at the residence inn by the marriott was amazing. We got there quite late on the sunday, and we were giving information on nearby places to eat, the tourist attractions and the best places to see and all the info about our stay.
The breakfasts where amazing, I'm not sure how I will ever go back to british food after eating in amsterdam, everywhere we went the food was phenomenal, and the residence inn was no exception.
The pool was lovely, and quiet. Both times there was only myself and my husband swimming, however we did end up having a reaction to the chlorine.
But all in all the stay was beautiful, the room felt like home by the second day, The view of the harbour, (espeically at night) was beautiful, and it was all around perfect.

It was a perfect honeymoon. Thank you Residence Inn

This is a fairly new hotel, everything was well appointed. The check-in area is small and was a bit slow with only 1 staff member. On the plus side, they were very accommodating as we arrived around 10am after an all night flight and we were able to get into one of the 3 rooms we had booked. The rooms were spacious. We enjoyed the walk into the downtown area each day (about 45 minutes). The breakfast was good and the breakfast area had lots of tables and nice views of the harbor.

Although we are an SPG member, we were told the hotel stay would not count towards SPG points as we had booked through Expedia - something to watch out for.

Looks like they are just completing the landscape, and there was gritty sand tracked in everywhere. The area the Residence is located is more light industrial, with very limited restaurants - mostly takeout options- and no shopping

We were at first concerned that the hotel was too far out of the main tourist section of Amsterdam but after a day in residence, we found we loved the location. We actually stayed her twice: one week followed by a two day sidetrip elsewhere and hen back for a 5 day stay. We were constantly mesmerized by the ship traffic all around the hotel and, with the exception of one terrible night, very happy with the quiet surroundings. (The exception was the night of an Octoberfest celebration held right next to the hotel but not on hotel property.)

The use of the same building by two different Marriot hotels is confusing though. Essentially only one elevator services the Residence Inn part and it was inconvenient to have to go up to the 9th floor to get to reception and the breakfast room, especially the 5 days our room was on the 8th floor. We were unable to find a staircase that would take us up that one floor. The sharing of the laundry room between the two facilities was a problem on a Friday afternoon/night.

The biggest problem we encountered was with the door configuration within the one bedroom units we rented. the doors are oversized and if you open the door into the bedroom, you cannot also open the door from the bedroom into the bathroom. Indeed one day I got trapped in the bathroom because the open bedroom door was preventing me from opening the bathroom door. Did some planner forget to take the door hardware into account in planning this layout?

Bus number 48 terminates at the end of the pier the hotel is on. 5 mins walk to bustop. €12 for GMV 48 hour unlimited travel, tram, bus and metro. Bus station is at rear of Central rail station stand G. If you are not used to the special herbal brownies they sell dont eat a full one.

Nice enough location on the Amsterdam hout Havens.

On the 8th floor I would have been assured a good nights rest but unfortunately younger people were having too much till late and probably well past midnight. Didn’t want to get up to check the time as that would have been the end of sleep anyway. They were either on the top floor, the 9th and outside on its terrace or further down. A mistake to have an expensive hotel mixing its space with the millenials hotel, the Moxy (?) So, we won’t come back as a 200 Euro room per night is certainly not worth that. Started as a bright idea with possibilities but a massive lack of experience in running a hotel and certainly not expected from Marriott!! It is also in a business district where those people need their sleep as do somewhat elderly tourists. The interior of the rooms was also not the best as where the bathroom and the bedroom doors can clash very loudly, causing heart palpitations in the middle of the night. That was our experience anyway, number 810 (?) on the eight floor. Sorry, it was a bad choice made by me , we could have had a much better rest in a closer location too, for half the money. Goodbye.

New Hotel

The hotel is in a newer area that is currently undergoing a lot of construction. As a result, a few taxi drivers had difficulty locating the hotel. A bus stop was about a five minute walk away however, due to construction in the area, the stop was closed for the weekend that we were there. It is about a ten to fifteen minute bus ride to central station. Our room was spacious and appeared clean although we found socks on the floor that didn't belong to us our first night. There was a stove, sink, microwave, and mini-fridge which was really convenient for us. Breakfast was buffet style where they served some cheese, deli meat, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and juice. The hotel seems to be rather small and shares space with the Moxy. All in all, it was a good hotel and the staff were friendly and hospitable. The only downside is the location as it seems to be in a warehouse district that is up and coming and the buses stopped running for the weekend due to construction. Also, a concern of ours was there was no restaurant on site. There were restaurants that were in walking distance but we did not try any. We tried to catch the 48 bus from central station back to the hotel and it appears that after a certain time, they stop running (it was after 11:00 p.m. when we tried) so be mindful, we ended up getting a taxi driver.
