The hotel room was set-up to be a one night stay not for weekends or even a week stay. Bed was comfortable and I did sleep well, bathroom was clean and tidy and well laid out. At reception they did not take cash and when another member of my party paid my taxes as well they locked me out of my room and wanted the tax paid again. On check out again they did not want me to leave the hotel until I had paid the taxes again so i had to wake up other members to prove it had been paid. All the time I was getting later and later for my plane. Missed baggage check in, but just as well I had none walked directly to gate and plane was already boarding.

Friendly and helpful check-in. We were upgraded to rooms both with outstanding views of the harbour one with double-spect windows. The rooms were clean and well-equipped but the climate control was difficult to operate and the room was quite cold overnight. Reasonable choice at breakfast but the music volume was intrusive.

We stayed at the Moxy Hotel Amsterdam from July 23rd to 30th and overall had a fantastic experience. I'd happily give it 5 stars, but I’ve marked it down slightly due to the lack of a fridge in the room — which is essential for someone like me who needs to keep snacks or certain items cool.

We originally booked a standard room, which we’ve done at other hotels without issue even though my partner uses a wheelchair. On arrival, the staff were really accommodating and moved us to an accessible room the next day, which was lovely and much more suitable.

The hotel itself is fun and vibrant — there’s a spa, gym, pool table, arcade games in the lobby, and even free popcorn! It has a great vibe and is ideal for both couples and families.

Staff were generally brilliant and very helpful throughout our stay. However, on one occasion when our room card stopped working, all of the front desk staff were being told off (quite publicly) by a manager for not engaging with guests — ironic, since the telling-off was causing them to ignore us. Thankfully, one staff member broke away to help us anyway, though it earned her a dirty look from the manager. That was the only disappointing moment in an otherwise excellent stay.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. We’re already planning to return next year and bring more family with us — they’d love it.

It was good. Beware of city tax and the extra £25 a night, whcih is refunded at the end of your stay. Gorgeous location, by the boats and it is a quite area. Number 48 bus is handy, getting in and out of the city, that takes you to the station. Good and comfortable room. Modern, has aircon and wifi. Good for a 4 night stay.

Very comfortable modern hotel Lovely staff, comfy beds, nice rooms amazing view from 5th floor harbour view room. Excellent breakfast choice very tasty .. we were visiting for 2 50th birthday’s I had informed hotel and they wrote a message on the room window with balloons and chocolates.. Nice touch our birthday girls were pleased Thanks Hotel is far from city centre but we aware of this before booking number 48 bus stops close by. Very peaceful pleasant location we loved getting back after long tourist days in the city. We would stop here again if returning to Amsterdam. Adell the man on reception was friendly and helpful with tips regards bus etc on checking in .. Moxy thks for having us

This is my second visit. Very trendy. Staff are very friendly. Close to public trans but far enough from the main city to enjoy peace and quiet. We slept like babies. Would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, although it wasn't within walking distance to the town center. Fortunately, a convenient bus stop was located right outside, offering easy access to the center. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and our room was clean. If you're seeking a peaceful and quiet hotel, I'd highly recommend this hotel

Love the moxy hotel, modern and quirky.
Breakfast was not great if you went for the hot option, it wasn't hot.
We ordered food from the bar one night too. Chicken salad and a burger. Didn't even know a salad could be bad by it it was! Go out and eat. Or check out the restaurant upstairs maybe. Rooms were always clean, pillows need relooking at. 1 pillow was not enough but 2 was breaking your next. Woke up with either back ache or neck ache all 3 mornings, our whole group did.

When I enter my room saw loads of hand marks on the giant windows. Extremely hard to ignore it. The problem is next day cleaner didint even checked and cleaned which I found unacceptable. No wardrobes inside the room or any mini bar. Anything served for breakfast were not fresh even cheese was hard. Location is somewhere in between no where, so expensive to take uber to the central however there r buses. But not convenient after midnight. No any drinking bottle water inside the room. I left the note on the door to get room cleaned service but it has been ignored for whole afternoon.It has a nice gym and it’s very modern building but loads of things were in poor quality. Staff members were ok if I visit Amsterdam again I won’t stay here. It’s tiring to take buses waiting for them and travel like this

Dystopian location

Friendly staff, average hotel (3/5) but awful Industrial location 1/5, avoid unless you enjoy a dystopian stay with a 24/7 fertiliser factory emitting a ton of non-stop smoke directed towards where you are sleeping.

- 200/300 mt across the dock there is a huge industrial site, likely the largest one you probably might have seen, emitting 24/7 nasty smoke, this factory apparently makes fertilisers and residents in the surrounding areas have made many complaints for years but it is still there, even if they have started building housing and commercial sites right next to it like this hotel
- You can literally smell the fertiliser site throughout the day, you can’t open your windows, for sure it is pretty nasty stuff - apparently higher cancer rates in all surrounding areas. Was very glad we only stayed 2 nights.
- The location, being industrial, is very noisy - you get 200mt long vessels / boats, coming into the harbour at night with noisy diesel engines waking you up at 4/5am unloading / loading stuff into these Industrial sites across the dock.
- The aircon is just terrible, does not allow you to control the temperature, you can only set it +/-3 - celsius from what you find in the room, when we arrived, the room was ridiculously hot (27C) when outside was freezing cold (-1/-2 C), we couldn’t get a decent sleep as there was no way to lower it to a nice 20-21 degrees to sleep comfortably, you could not open the window as the factory smoke is non stop.

We loved the quirky hotel and the wide range of guests it catered for. The social areas were modern, quirky and industrial and the bar was central.
It was quiet but had a great friendly atmosphere. The rooms and food were excellent lots of choice and the rooms were ample size for us . A big walk-in shower .

If I could give this hotel 0 stars, I would. For starters, we arrived at around 2 pm and were told we needed to wait till 3 pm for our rooms to be ready- fine. As 3pm rolls around, only 1/2 of our rooms are ready and the receptionist is arguing that she’s doing us a favour by giving us access to our 1 room that is ready (check in is 3pm as stated on the website). As we wait for our second room we sit down at the restaurant in the lobby of the hotel - we were told (at 2pm) that the full menu would be available at 3 pm. However, at 3 pm, we were once again disappointed as the waiter told us that only 2 out of maybe the 20 items on the menu were available. To summarize things, our 3 pizzas were baked from frozen and took almost 1 hour to reach our table. (only one employee working the restaurant AND bar?! clearly there’s a management issue here). Finally, as 10 pm rolls around, we are woken out of bed by a fire alarm. As we attempt to make our way outside, all the doors are locked! We are finally able to get to a restaurant (not affiliated with MOXY but attached to the hotel) who inform us that this is a usual occurrence and likely a false alarm. Around 10:30, an announcement is made that it was a false alarm, and, at 11 pm, ANOTHER announcement is made (again waking us up) that they are sorry for the inconvenience. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will be reaching out for a refund of the 1 night stay we booked here.

It is just awful. The staff are like sloths. We booked a twin room and when we went up to our room it was a double. So we went back down and said we booked a twin , they said they can’t give us a twin as they are fully booked.
When asking for a drink I got told to come back in 5 minutes.
The breakfast spread is awful too
If you need something or have a question it takes them half an hour at reception to deal with it.
I would just avoid this place.

Beautiful hotel, loved the vibe. Smelled incredible the moment you walk in the door, I’m not sure what it was, but I loved it. Friendly staff, super accommodating. We needed a cot because we ended up having another person on the trip with us, and they brought it right up. Everything was very clean, which we appreciated it. Drinks at the bar were pricey, but the entire city is expensive so I’m not really surprised, especially for a hotel bar. The location is outside of the city centre, but the bus stop is about a minute away, and that takes you right to Centraal Station, it’s also walkable if you’re up for that. Nice and quite location, especially after leaving the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Great room, beautiful pool and sauna. Relatively easy to get into town except late at night. The hotel is 6 minutes walk through an unoccupied business district which is I would say potentially unsafe for lone travelers at night, so an Uber might be needed.

Staff generally lovely, but on check in failed to do anything but give a room key, no orientation like breakfast times and costs, where to find food, what time the pool is open.

When I asked them directly ‘is there anywhere to eat near here?’ they said no it’s just the hotel and pointed at the limited snacks available- giant family bags of crisps, snickers bars etc.

I ordered a drink at the very very quiet bar and asked again if they had bar snacks and was pointed again at the same stuff. But some other guests in the lobby then said the bar do food until 10 - so I went back, found a menu and asked to order. Barman says ‘no, we don’t do food’ and turns his back on me and walks off. I’m now puzzled as well as hungry so I ask a second Barman who has just appeared if he can explain - he says the first barman meant they didn’t serve freshly cooked food and that food on the menu is reheated. When I get upset he then says the first barman intended it as a joke - ‘to cheer up tired customers’. He apologises and makes out it’s because I’m tired but i just felt humiliated and in fact blamed for the guys rude behaviour. Rest of staff lovely, but this soured my stay, being a solo traveler. Won’t be back

When you get to hotel my first impression was how nice the property was. It sits on beautiful harbor and has a lovely plaza to sit or hang out. The decor was fun and entertaining . All staff were pleasant and helpful. I would mention that they have a coffee/bar was a nice touch. Essentially this hotel has something to offer for most of its patrons.

A great hotel in a convenient part of Amsterdam

The hotel is very clean, modern and with great facilities. The location was perfect for us, it's a 10 minute bus journey to the centre of Amsterdam and busses are very frequent from the end of the road where the hotel is. There are not many shops / cafe's around but the hotel offers some essentials. The only issue we had was when the reception/bar area was busy the staff seemed be caught like Rabbits in headlights! There was a lack of management direction and you could see lots of guests looking confused and likewise the staff. It didn't feel like a lack of staff but their 'presence' of assessing or predicting the needs of the guest, once you managed to get their attention they were more than happy to help, it was just an awkward case of trying to grab one of them after waiting 10 minutes at the bar (for example) and when you ask for a drink they seemed surprised that you were waiting to be served.

Nice hotel with great ameneties in a newly developed part of town. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Lovely staff.

A few downers:
Please get a second coffee machine for breakfast.
Getting out of the parking garage was the biggest pain since the tickets never seem to work.
We booked the hotel especially because it has a pool. However, the pool was closed for the duration of our stay due to maintenance.

We stayed here for 4 nights and all I can say is what a great decision it was. The hotel is chic, stylish and very original, very much in keeping with Amsterdam in general. The hotel staff were simply amazing, so friendly and down to earth always chatting and hospitable. The Moxy is located 10 minutes by bus from the centraal station with the 48 bus stop itself ( a bus every 6-7 minutes) only a 5 minute walk from the hotel or if you hire a bike a 20 minute ride. If you walk, which is very pleasant along the sea front I’d say 40 minutes. Superb location, just far enough out to give you a rest from city life but not too far that it takes ages to get into the city itself. The hotel is clean, the beds lush, try to get a dock side view. Breakfast was just right, a buffet style with croissants, fruit, juices, a perfect start to the day. The walls are thick so you can’t hear other people chatting or their TV’s, just all in all a fantastic choice for a hotel.

Tyveri i parkeringskælderen. Flere biler havde smadrede bilruder under vores ophold på 3 dage. Vi blev advaret af en tilfældig mand første dag vi ankom. Parkering kostede 30 euro pr dag.

Det er et nyt hotel med lækre inventar. Men servicen trækker en del ned i vores anmeldelse. Vi oplevede desværre dårlig service fra flere medarbejdere.

Morgenmaden var ok til prisen 10 euro.

Toilettet lugtede grimt af kloak flere gange om dagen.

Værelserne er ikke ret store, men pæne og rene. Hovedpuderne var noget billigt bras. Ingen telefon eller skabsplads til tøj på værelserne.

Jeg vil ikke bo på det her hotel igen.

Stayed at Moxy for several nights since it was within short walking distance of a conference at Theater Amsterdam. The facility is highly functional for digital nomads and working professionals with 24/7 open bar, good WiFi and plenty of seating accommodations on the first floor.

The location is very out of the way and difficult to get to. No where close to walk to. Though the hotel itself is very nice. Very nice showers and comfortable bed, nice views and clean.

Located out of the centre however a short tram ride or 5 min Uber, near some coffee shops and restaurants! Pool, gym and sauna were excellent, really good facilities

The hotel and staff were excellent! Me and my gf arrived early as we had an early morning flight. Naomi and the rest of the team were very hospitable and flexible.
We couldn't check into a room as we were too early, however Naomi, gave us fresh towels and access to the spa + showers so we could freshen up. We also were able to leave our bags in the hotel, which meant we could do what we came to and enjoy the wonderful delights of Amsterdam. We came back in the evening to a fresh, clean room and another warm welcome from the evening staff, we would definitely stay again. The only thing the room didn't have was a wardrobe, but otherwise a great stay and the gym and pool were clean and decent too

Really terrible check in as the room was not ready and they could not seem to give me an answer as to when it would be .. it was 3:30pm by the way. The room itself had lovely views and the bed was extremely comfortable. There is no kettle or fridge in the room which was a bit of a let down but friendly staff at the bar happy to help. The gym is fantastic as is the hotel itself its just a shame about my first experience.

We liked the Moxy, despite some flaws. About the hotel itself: better than expected standards in terms of design quality, service, comfort, with the rooms feeling very well built and bathrooms fitted with Hansgrohe taps. It all feels new, modern and very solid. However, for some bizarre reason our two rooms (we moved) didn't have any wardrobes or adequate hanging space. There were only a couple of coat hangers provided on a small hook behind the door, which we had never seen before and would hope not to see again. Even if staying only a night or two (we stayed three), you need somewhere to hang/store one's clothes, shoes, etc.

We had booked a harbour view, but upon arrival were informed there was no HV room available for us. On a promise to move us the next day and a complimentary drink at the bar, we accepted their apology. It was, however, a mistake when we did move from R 331 to R 316 with its harbour view. The room and bathroom were some 30-40% smaller and while this is no disaster for only a place to spend the night, the noise from nearby construction work certainly was. With the waterfront being built up all around, we were woken two consecutive mornings by a pile driver starting at 07:00 prompt. This is an unwelcome awakening that we didn't get in the first room and would certainly have made us move rooms again had we not been due up early the next day. While it's not The Moxy's fault, I believe guests should be advised of this when taking a waterfront room.

The hotel entrance itself was amazing - the rooms where nice and clean but lacking ammenities including wardrobes.. the place itself is in a building site miles from anything with nothing local.. the staff where super lovely and helpful. Being woken up early morning each night of our stay wasn’t the best either.

Nice modern hotel in Amsterdam

Very nice new, clean hotel with a nice atmosphere. Easy check-in and 24 hour bar service!! Room was clean and modern BUT no wardrobe, safe or even a toilet brush!!
Location is about 15 minutes to Central Station by bus and they run every 15 minutes. Uber is not too expensive if there are a few of you. There are a couple of restaurants around in the area but not much. Van Gogh Museum and Heineken Experience are about 35 minutes away (1 bus and 1 tram) if you time it well.
