Understated but lovely Logis. Run by the kindest, professional and warm owners/ manager. All staff went out of their way to please, including the young cleaning girl who insisted on carrying my heavy suitcase to the car. Super breakfast selection and every evening meal was delicious.

The people who run it could not be nicer and more accommodating! The room was small, no frills (no elevator, and my room was on the top floor) but it was clean and fine for a solo traveller. It was a brief stay. Walkable to a bus stop, and of course Ubers and cabs available.

I wish I had time to explore Villeneuve-les-Avignon, it seemed less touristy (and more quaint) than Avignon.

A gem in Villeneuve-les-Avignon

My recent stay at Les Cedres in September was my second and, as expected, super and I can't rate it highly enough!

Having stayed in a nearby 5* hotel, I felt that there was no comparison because Les Cedres is a happy, warm and friendly hotel.

The owner, Christophe, is delightful and cannot do enough for his guests.

As for his \"right-hand-man\" - she goes by the name of Gigi (!) and she is every bit as delightful as Christopher.

As well as those in the main building, there are \"garden rooms\" at this hotel and I elected to stay in one.

These are fairly basic but contain everything I need (including tea/coffee-making facilities) and it was clean, comfortable with a well-appointed bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. The room has a roomy terrace also with table and chairs.

A very nice restaurant overlooks the swimming pool which leads onto a dining terrace - also overlooking the pool.

Breakfast is buffet style with a very varied choice. Excellent! We had dinner in the hotel only once but that, too, was an excellent meal.

Parking is plentiful.

A distinct advantage to this hotel is it's proximity to Avignon (7 mins by car) and, yet, Villeneuve itself is a calm oasis - a truly great village with sufficient restaurants and shops to make it interesting.

Incidentally, there is a local bus which goes into Avignon regularly.

Stay here! You will be glad you did!

We wanted to stay in Avignon but SO glad we found this place! It was like staying with the locals! The restaurant was wonderful and they had a nice pool and above-ground hot tub. The beds were comfortable and it was an overall lovely stay. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it. Great for couples. Romantic.

This is a charming and elegant graceful.house, and the accommodation was spacious. There is no lift but that wasn't a problem. We didn't use the pool.or the restaurant alongside it, but both looked lovely. The busy owner does his very best for his guests. Do not be put off as we mistakenly were originally by the area between the house and the highway, which is an ugly, modern shopping and housing agglomeration. In the other direction just past the house is the really beautiful small town of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon itself with great restaurants, shops and sights.

We had a wonderful stay! The grounds are great, it’s a very quiet updated historical property up on a hil with a great pool area and beautiful restaurant. The owners are wonderful! We had a delicious 3 course dinner and a wonderful buffet breakfast. The cinnamon croissant bread pudding was my favorite! Lots of delicious baked breakfast treats!

A lovely place to stay

We enjoyed our few days here. We would stay again if we return to Avignon. The hotel and grounds are lovely. Our room was on the small side and there was not enough space to be organised - we would have appreciated some more shelves and drawers to put our things away. Having said this, we still had a lovely stay. Breakfast was very good and we ate outside twice in the evening. Both meals were excellent.

Great family owned hotel in an ideal area - good value from what i saw too. We were 3 adults so stayed in number 10 (11 is the same) which is a renovated prior stable just to the left of the main building itself. If you are 3 or 4 insist on those ones. Newly renovated and clean and spacious. Christopher is the owner and a great host.

Very pleased with my stay.

I was very happy with this hotel. I was permitted to check in early and the manager was extremely friendly and spoke good English. The room and bed were very comfortable with good air conditioning and good wifi. The setting is also very attractive.

Beautiful hotel. We stayed in a family room outside the main hotel and it was adequate for our needs. It had a kitchenette and two rooms. The kitchen was a bit dated, bit the bathroom was updated and beautiful. The overall the room fit all of our needs and was very clean. The pool was fantastic and the ambiance of the mansion made our stay feel luxurious.

I enjoyed my 2 nights at this hotel. It is a 5 minute drive from Avignon and the hotel is very private. The pool and restaurant were a bonus and the hotel is very near shops and a supermarket. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room is huge and had air conditioning.

A little slice of heaven

What an excellent stay! This little area of heaven is characterized by great \"cottages\" surrounded by beautiful trees in an incredible environment. The staff and manager were exceptional. This makes a visit to Avignon much more than just a visit to a historical site but rather a little vacation in itself. If coming to Avignon book here first!

This was a delightful experience as we stayed there a few nights in September, returning for
a night or two three times in that month and October. Rather than stay in Avignon city, which can be crowded, we booked this hotel in Villeneuve les Avignons as our destination, It is not far form the medieval city and boasts of
some history of its own, The hotel manager, Christophe, was a delightful host, going beyond the call of duty to be helpful, and provide the best service he could. The rooms may be be small for some Canadians, but the spirit is large!
The meals are delightful gourmet recipes with a good variety- better than restaurants we found in Avignon. The staff are friendly and the grounds are charming with the dining area parallel to the pool! The lighting is great!
The only drawback for some may be the taxi fare to reach the hotel (18-20 euros form the Gare TGV), but well worth the stay! The manager provided a courteous and warm experience for both of us. Highly recommend this hotel!

French charm in idyllic setting

Booked by chance as we fancied staying in an historic chateau. We were in the tower room in a 4poster bed. Very comfy - old fashioned charm but with a modern shower cleverly built in a curve in tower wall.
A site with mainly camper vans surrounds the chateau. The outside pool was closed,but there was an indoor pool.
The brasserie served nice meals of steak,ribs or salmon. We joined a group on Sunday morning for a very informative tour of the property guided by the Dutch owner.

An excellent hotel with marvellous food. Staff very helpful. Comfortable room. Easy parking although the gate was a bit tight. Only thing wrong was the toilette paper holder made you feel you were in a public convenience. We would come back again and certainly recommend Les Cedres to friends.

Quaint and just lovely

Beautiful hotel a little away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. The rooms were quaint, very provencal theme, and smelled of lavender. Overall seemed very clean. The hotel staff is simply amazing, friendly and accommodating. We had to rush out the next morning and they helped us with the check out quickly and efficiently. Even going as far as to give us free coffee and tea to go. When I go back to Avignon, I will stay here again in a heartbeat.

Went to Avignon by rail. Easy transfer to within about 400 meters of hotel by number 4 bus from the centre station to Belle Vue. Stayed on top floor of hotel which is 49 steps from the ground floor. No lift. Excellent host and staff with good food available morning, lunch and evenings. Unfortunately as is common in France smoking permitted at outside dining tables so need to dine in on nice evenings if non smokers.

We stayed at Les Cèdres for 3 nights and loved it! It is not central so we took a taxi a few times then took the city bus which was very easy and convenient. We toured mornings and most afternoons but since it was close to 40'C, we also took advantage of the pool... we loved it! It felt like we were at a resort. We would definitely go back to Les Cèdres.

A Beautiful historic Inn.

One night stay for 4 before returning to Paris. A beautiful quaint Inn located just outside of Avignon. Beautiful grounds with a nice outdoor pool. Staff were friendly - we had an absolutely fabulous meal in the restaurant - would highly recommend eating there. Don't expect \"fancy and modern\" - but old and beautiful. There are no elevators, so if you have challenges with stairs request one of the cottages - they looked lovely. The check-in desk area could use a bit of a spruce up too. All in all, it was wonderful and just what we were looking for at the end I our 10 day trip.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of Avignon

The room was clean and comfortable and the people were super friendly. The hotel has a small restaurant that was excellent and reasonable. The continental breakfast was nicely laid out and offered fresh squeezed OJ. We stayed in the main house. A little more money but way more ambiance. The hotel is about 5 minutes from Avignon and easy to get to.

Lovely old building, very atmospheric. We stayed with our 20 month old - it's not particularly child friendly with very steep stone stairs (no lift) and no high chairs. Service from the staff was excellent - very friendly and couldn't do enough to help.

Lovely relaxed place to stay

Villas laid out in grounds of old house. Lovely swimming pool area with lots of chairs. Great breakfast, reasonably priced, in the outside dining area located in the gardens next to the pool. We had a very late arrival which was no problem - the manager and all the staff were welcoming and very hospitable. All in all, a lovely stay. Would recommend - especially if you're looking for somewhere very convenient for Avignon but with a lovely relaxed holiday feel. (Located about 6 mins by car down to the free parking alongside the river bank alongside the Palais des Papes).

Okay, but nothing to write home about

The gentleman at the desk was quite nice and accommodating. The room, a bungalow in the back, was okay, but rather weird, in that you had to walk past a bizarre fountain and one or two other rooms to get there. The place was also quite out of the way and hard to find. That said, Avignon was a nightmare for driving, and it might behoove you to stay at Villenueve to avoid the confusion. I would not stay at the Cedars again, but really think one could do worse. Probably much worse, considering that the price was reasonable.

Beautiful old house, but could do with a refresh

We had a wonderful stay at Les Cedres. It was very lovely, overall, and the staff were wonderful. Our room was quite dated, but it suited the general feel of the hotel. The bathroom was incredibly small and you could not quite even have a shower properly, as the taps were right under the shower head and there was no room at all to move forward. The plumbing was also very noisy, with banging pipes. However, in the overall scheme of things we definitely enjoyed our stay. In terms of location, it was lovely to be out of the main city. However, there are limited food options nearby. We ate at the hotel restaurant, which was pleasant, but had to go into Avignon otherwise. Overall, would recommend.

Amazing place

The hotel is what you expect from a 150 years old building. Beautiful and full of carácter. But the place is special. Easy check in and we had an great experience with the restaurant. The food was really great.
Room was clean , confortable and quiet.
Avignon is really a special city.
I can recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a great experience in France.

Best value for our money! The hotel is situated on the other side of the Rhone but has easy access to the walled city! The ambience is very calming and really gives you a feel for the Provence region. The restaurant served excellent food and wine and the owner, Cristofe was so welcoming and accomadating!
We thought it was one of the loveliest accommodations on our trip!
The room had a fridge and safe. Parking was free and very secure.

This is an interesting place to stay

It's an over 100-year old historical building with a peaceful small country-side feel surroundings, but they have a newer section in the back where the rooms are a bit more modern. It's not really my style to stay at a place with no carpet in the room and showering in the tub that has a half glass door with AC that doesn't work so well, but for a night near Avignon, it was ok. It's also a bit far from town, but parking is great if you drove here. It's very quiet and the staff are very helpful and awesome. There is nothing around this place besides a small food stand down the street; definitely a quiet residential area.

The hotel is located across the river from Avignon -- and less congested and cheaper. Excellent for exploring the entire region. Hotel itself is pleasant and has a good restaurant, but it could use some updating and/or renovations to make it even better. We were there a total of five days.

Great value, old is new again

Hotel is a150 year old converted French Manor home. So if you are looking for new look elsewhere. If you are looking for comfort, ambience, great service and value, look no further, you will find it here. Restaurant was fabulous, great selection, quality, value and service. The owner, Christof is a wonderful host. No one looks after you better than the owner. In this case a third generation owner. Breakfasts were unusually good. Great selection, quality and hot boiled soft eggs. Avignon is not large so you are close to everything. Lots of free parking off the street in a secure locked lot. Would stay again and I would book my mother here.

Interesting hotel 2km out of Avignon proper

The hotel is charming and packed with character - there are a handful of rooms which are tiny villas surrounding a tiny grotto which are really nice. The neighbourhood the hotel is in is very nice, with a couple of very typical local bistro type bars and a great local paella/tagine cafe. The walk into town isn't too strenuous (although the hills on the way back is a bit more challenging!)

This is a really good base for exploring the region.

We stayed in the main period house, which admittedly is a little dated but its quirkiness makes up for what it lacks in modern day comforts. Having had quite a packed few days we decided not to make the five minute drive back into Avignin but to sample the on site restaurant, and wow what a pleasant surprise. The quality of food both in terms of ingredients and presentation would not be amiss in a top restaurant and I will be thinking about the squash veloute with seasoned duck for months! If you want modern comforts this is not for you, but if you want a quirky french mansion with really fantastic french food don't miss this place from your travels.

Very nice and conveniently located!

Very convenient for car drivers, close enough to Avignon but far enough from the traffic. Extremely helpful personnel, english speaking, very nice pool, ample room with tables available outside. The best hotel in our trip. There seem to be buses to Avignon, but ask before. Definitively, we will be back!

Lovely hotel, great service, food at restaurant was average, hotel grounds were beautiful. The main building made you feel like you were in the french country side. We liked our room, clean, good size, comfortable bed, great value. Might be a little out of the way if you don't have a car. Perfect if you do because there is onsite free parking. We stayed in an apartment next to the swimming pool , very comfortable, good restaurant. We had a car there is a park and ride service which made visiting Avignon very easy , a fantastic city, so much to see!

Les Cedres - quiet location, bit far from centre

Nice hotel in a quiet location, although a car is preferable to reach the centre of Villeneuve-les-Avignon. We stayed in a room on the top floor of the main house and found it very comfortable. The room had old beams and brickwork showing which added to it's appeal. Our room was up a few flights of stairs which wasn't a problem for us as we were traveling light. Only downside was that there wasn't a shower curtain round the bath which made it difficult to use the shower without getting the floor wet.

Il personale e’ estremamente gentile e simpatico e molto disponibile con grandi sorrisi e mettono a proprio agio anche se non si padroneggia bene le lingue , il parco e’ meraviglioso davvero . Tutto e’ ben tenuto e pulito . C’ è un servizio ristorante e il cibo devo dire e’ davvero ottimo . E’ un ambiente davvero bello consiglio a tutti questa esperienza .

Nous avons séjourné 1 nuit dans cet hôtel. Belle bâtisse qui mériterait d'être mise plus en valeur mais dans l'ensemble, le rapport prix prestations est excellent. Il y a un grand espace de restauration intérieur et extérieur qui est très agréable. La piscine est grande et chauffée, nous l'avons particulièrement appréciée.
Le propriétaire est très accueillant et nous a même offert 1 coca pris dans le mini bar.

Un petit havre de paix bien situé

Un beau jardin ou il est agréable de prendre les repas qui sont très bons. La chambre n'est pas très grande mais rien ne manquait avec une petite terrasse. Quand on passe le portail, on se retrouve au calme c'est très reposant et situé à Villeneuve les Avignon, une jolie ville méconnue très agréable.

Week-end prolongée en couple

Week-end prolongé en couple avec un beau soleil ! La quiétude de l’endroit nous avait charmé l’an passé et nous sommes ravis de l’avoir retrouvée.
Un personnel sympathique, une bonne table abordable, une chambre confortable et un très bon petit-déjeuner déjeuner très complet fait de produits frais.
Le plus : accepte les animaux !

Accueil humain et chaleureux, un veritable plaisir par les temps qui courent.
Emplacement efficace (10mn de la gare tgv).
Repas de très bonne qualité et équilibré (pris après un tour à la piscine et au jacuzzi !)
