As usual, this is my favourite place to stay when I come to Edmonton for work or pleasure. Staff are amazing and super friendly. Rooms are cozy and beds very comfortable. Location is excellent and close to so many restaurants and shops. Do not waste your time staying anywhere else. This is a fantastic place. Cheers ! Pat

Do not stay here on a weekend if noise is a problem for you. The noise in the rooms facing Whyte Ave can be heard over the ear plugs they give you. Otherwise, this hotel is always great.

The staff here are just excellent - many long term employees committed to customer service. We were delighted to see they still have the breakfast offerings with fresh food in a nice relaxing space. The rooms are clean and the decor is almost at the point of being retro. We love the price and the place. And BONUS is the valet parking!!!

Parking is 2 blocks away - $22 a day if you park it yourself, $27 if you do valet parking.
Noise from Whyte Ave is loud on weekends if you can’t tolerate earplugs.
Would stay again for the convenience of location to Whyte ave and free breakfast.

We didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of the free breakfast, but the area was lovely and staff are incredible.

The valet parking was so appreciated! We only came in for one night, but will definitely book again for our next trip to Edmonton.

Only complaint was how hot the hotel was. We walked into our room and were met with a wave of heat. It was probably 23° in the room and we found a note in the room that said the hotel doesn’t run AC in the “winter months” (stayed April 17-19). The only option was to open the patio door, which was fine during the day but the property is surrounded by nightclubs. We laughed when we saw ear plugs on the bedside tables to “drown out the Whyte noise”. We spent a fair bit of time in our room and so got to enjoy the variety of auditory delights ranging from street preachers to buskers with electric guitar and a full drum kit and the thumping bass of night club life and wafting cloud of marijuana smoke.

The hotel itself was fine. I actually really liked the breakfast and the staff were all pleasant and helpful, but we are not party people and so likely won’t visit again!

Can’t beat the location, and the staff. Hands down amazing and so was the valet parking. However, in the warmer “spring” months the hotel doesn’t turn on their AC making the room very hot. And due to the busy location (though convenient) made it too loud to open a windows. The front desk was able to reimburse for our second night because we couldn’t sleep there again.

First off, there is no parking at the property so unloading your luggage is a pain! Secondly, if you need a cool room to sleep, I strongly recommend you skip this hotel. We had a west facing room on white ave that got very hot at night. You can’t exactly open the windows because of the party noise from the nearby clubs. And the property does not turn their AC on until the summer, as per management. Fortunately management was reasonable to deal with and helped compensate us for the issues.

We stayed in one of the King suites and really enjoyed it….had a jet tub and the shower had the 4 body sprayers. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed it both times we had it. We had the valet parking so never had to worry about parking it down the street ourselves and we set up times so it was always ready waiting when we needed it. The staff were very helpful and friendly and when we got our SUV on our way home they had a little thank you gift waiting in it for us….was a really nice touch. We loved our stay there and will absolutely stay there again.

Always liked this place but a few things this time makes me think things are going a little downhill. First, the temperature in the rooms was sweltering and there was nothing you could do to adjust it, other than opening up the sliding door to the little balcony. They did send us up a a fan but evenings were hard to sleep through. Worse was the temperature in the gym. Felt like you were working out in Death Valley in the middle of the summer. Breakfasts were not as good, either. Eggs now seem powdered. Coffee was weak and no way Starbucks’s as advertised. Nice to get complimentary valet but one day after returning our car at 12:30 in the afternoon, we were walking out to go for dinner at 5 and the car was still outside. They forgot to park it. Staff still pretty friendly and good location on Whyte Avenue. But hotel needs to up its game as people will stop coming if they don’t.

Room was clean and had a space to work, which I needed. I had no issues with the internet connection which was fast. Bed was comfy, but I was slightly cold under the thin comforter. The thermostat continually blows air into the room, so you have to turn it off when it gets too hot and then back on later. My curtains were not blackout, which allowed a good amount of light from the street into the room at night. Good thing I brought an eye mask. A full length mirror would have been nice. Overall a good stay!

I am not one to leave reviews. But after some of the negative reviews prior to booking and then experiencing the hotel, I thought it a good idea.

I will preface by saying, we never know the otherside of the coin. People are very single minded in their thinking.

1) Valet parking was great! Yes it is a paid service and it is disclosed if taken the time to read the details. I saw many reviews about valet parking being delayed.

Not having a parking space at the hotel and having to wait for the valet was inconvenient, calling the front desk to request the car be brought and having to wait on the line for 20 mins on multiple occasions was unacceptable, the windows at our room were not reducing the outside noise of the hotel, thus impossible to sleep during the weekends. The webpage says rooms have a safe, but when we couldn’t find it and called guest services they said the webpage was not up to date (what hotel of this price range has no safe in the rooms????!!!)

The staff was amazing! Check in was easy. My son was booked in for a procedure at the U of A hospital. It became more complicated and and took way longer then i had been told it would.
I didn't check out before because we were supposed to be done in an hour or so. They extended the room check out for me with no charge, thank you for making a bad day a little brighter.
Breakfast was awesome and the hotel is very nice and comfortable.

The room and hotel were mostly great. Spacious, clean, comfortable bed, and wonderful shower. Just two towels; sink drained poorly so it was full whenever used; fireplace did not work. The hotel provided use with wine (we don’t drink alcohol and cookies to compensate for the fireplace). The worst part is the noise from the bar(s). The hotel provide ear plugs but it was so loud there was no way to cancel it out. We were on the 8th floor. If it wasn’t for the outside noise I would strongly recommend but as I couldn’t sleep until after 2am I would only stay on a weekday.

I have been to this property multiple times during the week days. This time I was there in a weekend for a very special occasion. Turns out the night clubs next to the hotel has full ability to go as loud as it can. I was on the fourth floor and couldn’t stand the music loudness for 10 minutes. They moved me up to the eighth floor and still crazy loud. When I asked the staff, they said this is the norm and it would go up to 3-4 am! It shocked me how this would be the norm. You need to literally plug your ears to sleep. Even with that the loud music and the unpleasant singer from that nightclub will find its way to your ears and block you from sleeping. Unbelievable while the staff and the hotel is so nice, not going back ever again.

Room was very hot. No cooling in the room. Had to sleep with the window open. No pop or drinks available in vending machine. Had to buy pop from the bar at 4 dollars a piece. The bed and pillows were very hard. 210 was way too much for what we got. Also there for medical reasons and not rebate was applied.
