We never stayed. We asked for a non smoking room. It was not, lighting poor. Bathroom causing was peeling in the shower area, dirty around the light switches. Sheets appeared not to be changed, we never stayed. They did refund our room cost.

Parking was tight, hotel is older than the hills, dingy hallways, stairwells lock you out of the hotel and you have to walk around the entire perimeter to get back to a door that let's you in. Some nutjob was in the room next to mine and they threatened to kick him out but didn't. Was running up and down the halls screaming and kicking doors, asking to be let in and wanting people to come out! Police spoke have come for that one.

Do not stay at this hotel!! The pictures on hotels.com appear to be fake.
This hotel is completely run down and pictures of the rooms and rest of hotel look nothing like what is posted online. All of the rooms reek like smoke and mold and it is super sketchy. Co not waste your money!!

The elevator was broken, had to walk up to the 3rd floor. Stairwell was filthy and wreaked of smoke. The third floor said nonsmoking but it was very strong in the hallway. The room had stained walls, ceiling and chair. There was the smallest handsoap ive ever seen. Poor lighting in the room and lack of electrical outlets. Has to unplug the clock to get use of one. Thought about leaving and going to the hotel next door. Wouldn't recommend due to the poor air quality with smoking. Would not stay here again with children of any age. Price seemed okay when booking but after our arrival, it was not worth that amount.

From the front desk to the cleaning staff, the employees were very professional and polite.

During one date of our stay, a significant issue with one of the amenities ocurred, affecting us and other guests. The hotel arranged for Expedia to provide us with a full refund for that particular date.

What was once a negative experience turned into a very positive one.

The hotel is very run down.The entrance doors are worn out .The concrete entrance is crumbling and worn out. The elevator is not working. Our upgraded room we booked in advance was on the third floor.We are seniors. I have had a knee and hip replacement. The desk clerk gave us a room on the main floor to look at. I have never seen a room where the furniture and everything were so worn out. We went back to the front desk and took the 3rd floor room previously booked . Desk called maintenance man and he carried our one big suitcase case up to 3rd floor.Room was better but fridge froze our water bottles the first night. Bed in room needed to be replaced. Could feel bed springs through padding. Breakfast room runs out of food very early. They should mention it's a continental not a normal breakfast. One saving grace is the staff we're very friendly and helpful. I think the Travelodge, Wyndham hotel in south Edmonton should go through a big renovation if they want to continue charging over $100 dollars a night. Bathroom towels with holes in them. One roll of toilet paper? Give me a break! How long has the elevator been down? They said maybe 2 weeks? Spend $20 to $30 a night more.Prevent what happened to us.I guess don't only check if they have an elevator but if it is working!

It's fine. It's cheap for a reason, it's old. But the room was made up nicely and the bathroom was acceptably clean. No maid service to remake beds though. Maybe you have to specifiy that you want that? Breakfast was incredibly basic. Bagels, toast, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, juice etc. I think I might spend an extra 20 a night to get a better breakfast and a bigger room. But it was one of cheapest options out there. Pool was down but it wasn't something we were dying to do anyway.

We had a very positive experience here despite all the negative reviews. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and we had a quiet stay. The breakfast is simple but convenient. Unfortunately, the elevator was broken which was not a problem for us but would be a problem if you have mobility issues.

One bed was soft and comfortable the other was very firm and uncomfortable. The whole place needs money spent on it. It looked very run down with door handle not properly fixed in the bathroom, no plug in the sink, hallways very drab. Did not like all throwaway plates and cutlery for breakfast.

My family and I stayed here this weekend. I had other families book the same hotel because the location was great for us and the price was awesome. I looked at their pictures and the booked mainly because it looked clean and had a free breakfast (which is important for us families on the go for sports) so we went there and boy were we completely surprised by the exterior, it looked dingy. The lobby was ok but needs some maintenance. We checked in only to find out we were on the third floor and the elevator was broken! Now this isn’t a deal breaker but maybe try to make it up to us a little with a discount or something. Instead we hauled up 3 flights of stairs. Half way up the staircase we noticed a bloodied bandaid laying on the steps… again not a deal breaker although this is our very first opinion of this hotel. Now I could get over the bandaid being on the step BUT the thing laid there for at least 36 hours of our 48 hour stay (puke). So moving forward, the room seems clean, the bathroom is not the nicest, has the 90’s shade of yellow happening and brought back smoking room vibes! So going back to the pictures I looked at online… hahahaha what a joke those are! The breakfast was made to look like there is options! If dried up cinnamon stick and toasted English muffins are what they call a breakfast. Fast forward to that evening and we come back to a uncleaned room. We were told they don’t service rooms until you leave! So needless to say.. never going back. Save your money

Parking was fine. Room was not very clean. The real issue was I originally booked 2 queen beds, but when I rechecked after booking it showed as 2 doubles, so I canceled and rebooked 2 queens. When we went to check in someone was complaining that they booked a queen and the clerk said they didn't have queens. Sure enough our booking was again changed to 2 doubles. When you book it shows as queen beds but they do not have queen beds. Not happy about that.

The room was not very clean, it was very outdated. The tap was leaking, the TV didnt work properly. The room was very small! Cracks in the ceiling, cracks in the walls
I called the front desk and asked if i only stayed one night (i had booked two) if i would be charged.
They said no but offered to upgrade me to a bigger room, with two beds. I accepted and we stayed both nights.
The uograded room was still very much outdated, not clean, cracks in the ceiling, baseboards.
The TV did work properly at least.
I didnt go to the breakfast
We were on the first floor, as we had two dogs with us
I guess you get what you pay for!
Will not be staying again anytime soon.

The staff were nice. The room was horrible. Cracks in the bathroom ceiling and shower area and exhaust fan. The room smelled. It was a heavy perfume scent to mask the smell of stale cigarettes. The curtain has a cigarette burn hole. The TV didn't work properly. You had a paper with a list of channels you had to use to punch in numbers because the guide on the screen didn't work. This location has not been upgraded for many years. I will be more careful on choosing locations to stay at in the future.

There was hair in our towel. On the toilet seat and on the floor. The elevator didn’t work. The door was SOOOO hard to open from the inside and confusing from the outside. The whole lobby and outside of the rooms smelled sooooooo bad. For shampoo and conditioner there were super tiny bottles. And tiny soap. The toilet seat cover had burn marks. The lamp shades were crooked and dirty!!!. There were stains in the floor too. We were supposed to stay there overnight but we literally risked our lives and left in the middle of the night. We didn’t feel comfortable staying there. And I’ve been to affordable hotels that very nice. And are cheaper than this place

The only things I liked about Travelodge by Wyndham Edmonton South were the location and the huge parking space, other than that, nothing.
First, I checked in online, assuming it would speed things up upon arrival, but we still had to wait in a long line since there was only one front desk staff on duty. Keep in mind, they were fully booked, so they should have expected guests arriving after 3 PM and assigned at least two staff members to make the check-in process faster.
Second, the rooms were old. In the room we were assigned, you couldn’t even tell if the exhaust fan was working unless you closed the bathroom door and listened closely, it was barely noticeable. If someone uses the bathroom or takes a hot shower, you have to wait at least 30 minutes for the smell or moisture to go away.
The food was just okay, basically eggs and bread.
Lastly, on our final day, checkout time was at 11 AM. We were still relaxing in the room around 10 AM when someone knocked only once and then opened the door. Seriously? Do they not coordinate with the front desk to check whether a room has already been checked out? My son was changing clothes when they opened the door using their key card. Ridiculous.

Booked this property with very low expectations, and you should too.

Breakfast available : Whole apple and orange, simple cereal, cinnamon twist, boiled egg, everything bagel, white toast, ïogo yogurts

Staff were great. They smile and give good service as much as they can.

Location is great. It’s central of a lot of things.

Quality of building, rooms and its amenities are questionable.

Just like many reviews bellow, gym is not looked after. Floors were warped and equipments are old. I never saw a person used it when I stayed.

Room we got: Everywhere were stained (lamps, bed sheets, doors). Bed is really old as well. Luckily no bed bugs. The floor is warping a bit too. Faucet was dripping but was not much of a concern. Sometimes both keys works, sometimes only one does. —- No slippers can be provided so, bring your own.

Upon checking, we were informed housekeeping is not available everyday. It would be best to call the hotel first if it’s available on the days you will be staying. —-We didn’t need the service but just in case.

Hotel were able to provide toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo and conditioner. —- I’d recommend you just bring your own instead.

In conclusion, I think this hotel is okay for a short stay (2-3 nights) especially if you don’t mind to experience what we came across. Otherwise, there are other better options that you will come across and you just need to spend a bit more per night.

The location and surrounding amenities are perfect. Lots of places to eat and coffee shops. It’s just over 8 kms to Roger’s as well. The rooms require a major update and overall are in poor condition. They were however relatively clean and acceptable as far as that is concerned. Due to this I feel it is overpriced.

The reason I booked this hotel was because they had breakfast. Hotel breakfasts are not gourmet, I realize that. But Saturday we ate at 8:00 and all that was left was toast, cereal, one apple and yogurt. The selection was small but the amount of food for the number of guests was not enough. I’m not sure if they restocked, but our experience was not great. I wouldn’t stay again.

We booked the room for my sons bday. The site said and SHOWED PICTURES OF A POOL AND HOT TUB. No pool or hot tub. I was trapped in the elevator TWICE. We had to switch rooms THREE TIMES. 1st room- Room was dirty, the tv was broken and remote missing. 2nd room- power went out from just using the microwave, phone was missing the cable, tv shut off every 5 seconds because the power kept going out, people were screaming and yelling in the rooms beside us. 3rd room was fine, we just wanted to leave. Breakfast was horrible. The elevator doesnt work. It was the worst experience. Ruined my sons birthday. I want my money back.

So had I pack kids up and go find food. Someone tired to get interim at 230am and wouldn’t go away. For 110$ a night you would expect more this is more motel type place

Breakfast was major reason for selecting this hotel and the Breakfast sucked definitely not what was expected, certainly not good.
Parking lot dangerously full of ice not safe for walking and no sand available for DIY applications.
All the doors with the exception of the front doors are locked no entry or exits.
Pillows absolutely horrible.
I won't be going back...

We did sleep well, the bed was comfortable but the blankets were thin and no extras in closet.
The bathroom was dirty, walls, lightswitch, shower….
The breakfast was below average, a little color would be nice. Everything was plain brown/ beige. Suggestion: fruits like oranges, bananas & apples. 4 types if cereal instead of just 2; muffins would be nice- it was written muffins on the description at the check-in desk but there wasnt any.

What you pay for is what you get. This hotel is inexpensive, but dated, pretty dirty and not great. The rooms were OK and the linens were clean, but the common areas are dingy and don't smell great. Cigarette smoke is prevalent in the hallways, if you're sensitive to that thing.

The room was filthy, with literal boogers on the bed, stains all over the walls and floor, and random hairs everywhere showing that it wasn’t cleaned properly. The hotel smelled like cigarettes and weed, even on the non smoking floors. It was run down, loud, and I felt unsafe. After checking in I wanted to leave right away and find a different hotel, but I didn’t feel comfortable returning to the lobby because of the people I could hear outside my room. The photos on the website were misleading and I would like a refund.
