The breakfast is minimal and all silverware is either plastic or cardboard style. At least they had some fruits and oatmeal porridge, but the fruit selection could use improvement as well as cutlery, eating porridge with a teaspoon is not that great. I augmented the selection by purchasing pineapple, strawberries and blueberries at Kroger as well as Almondmilk and none dairy yougurt. Staff is good and the place is clean and fresh. Location is good, but you need a car in Houston.

The stay was very warm welcoming and clean. They should have more select on breakfast maybe add a waffle machine, dry cereal and eggs omelette. The A/c kept the room very cool and the t.v. view was very pleasant. The stay was well worth it and would be booking again.

The check lady that checked us in at midnight was fine, but she had to call us back down to the lobby at 1am as she said we should have paid.
We had a knock at the door at 6:30 AM from cleaning staff who upon opening the door asked pointing if the room opposite was our room!
We said no, this is our room. They replied who has that room? We simply shrugged and said we didn’t know. On our way out enjoy Houston at 8:30 AM we were stopped by the front desk and a different person was insisting that we were leaving without paying!
After 30 mins of having to debate that we were not leaving and that we had paid for our 3 night stay when checking in the night before she calmed down.
It was bizarre to say the least.
The pillows were thick and when were asked if they had anything thinner we were told no. We ended up going to Walmart to buy our own. Would not stay in this hotel in future

1.When I walked into the lobby, it was stifling HOT! It was only bearably warm the next morning. 2.The desk clerk said the hotel charges a refundable fee of $20 should there be any damage. She tried to charge it to my Visa card, the same one I had just used to book the room with Hotels.com. For some unknown reason, it would not go through. She then tried my debit card with the same result. Something was obviously wrong with the card reader. Then the desk clerk wanted to make a copy of my card to charge me later. I told her no one was making a copy of my card. With all the identity theft going around, one cannot be too careful. 3.The window in my room had only sheer curtains on it. There were no drapes to pull and hide the view. I was on the bottom floor and this made me very uncomfortable. Anybody could look in and see everything. Also, since there were no drapes, I could not hide the light outside pouring into the window that night. 4.When I went to check out the next morning, there was no clerk at the desk. I saw other keys that people had just left at the desk, so I did, too. Where was the clerk? I saw her eating at the breakfast in the dining area. 5.There was no manager to be found.

Really did not like the toilets. We are in our 70s and had a very difficult time getting on and off the toilet. It was way too low. It reminded us of the squatty potties when we visited China. First day when our room was cleaned none of the toilitries were replaced and neither was the coffee.

Local storms had knocked out power, but staff did best to accommodate everyone. Out of their control, so can't fault them for that. Shower not working and it took a couple of calls to the front desk and maintenance came and fixed it. So, I'd give him a thumbs-up for taking care of us and salvaging what could have been a rough stay. Good job!

Pleasant surprise especially in view of the very reasonable price. Appears to have been very recently remodeled or refreshed as carpet and paint appeared very fresh. Breakfast could do with little improvement but it was adequate.

I scheduled the stay for 3 adults. We had a late arrival that night, and called the hotel to let them know. No one informed us there is only one entrance into their location and it was all under construction and the area was blocked off down the street. So we drove around in circles trying to figure out how to get in this place only to realize at night you can't see the small opening in the two orange barrels to go through. I mentioned this to the front desk with no apology. Then when we got to the room there was only one towel. So we had to call down and get more towels brought up. The next day our room was cleaned and again only 1 towel was left for 3 people. So we had to call back down to get towels brought up. In addition, we were gone most of the day at a tournament and when we got back none of our keys would work. So with loaded down hands and all of us exhausted we had to go back down to the front desk to get working keys. They did not even apologize. On Sunday we found out our tournament schedule changed so we asked for a late checkout and were denied. I stay at this hotel chain all the time in different areas. They are typically always customer service oriented and accommodating, but this location was not. For the money I could have stayed any where and gotten better service. I do not count this stay as a win at all for you guys or us, because I'm an advocate of always sharing my story.

Old, and dirty. The smell of the place is disgusting. There was 4 big and disgusting cockroaches in the room. I kill them and took a photo and general manager said i am so sorry but the only thing i can do is give you 2,000 points on your IHG account or send you a exterminator to your room. Only to my room girl you should send that exterminator to all the hotel. Then doing my check out the employee didn’t want to give me a receipt because i booked with expedia. Oh my God, i don’t care I just need my receipt for my expense report. Worst experience in a Holiday Inn.

Really quiet. The free breakfast was having some problems with their pancake maker and the coffee was not hot, but the place was nice. I found it hard to find from the 1960 road as it was set in quite far from the road. Overall those were some pretty minor things to nitpick about because I really got a good nights sleep and that is what is all about!

The hotel was short staffed with maids so our room was still dirty at 4 in the afternoon. When we questioned it we were given a fair enough reason however because they were required to work late to clean the hotel since they were short staffed, they then proceeded to rush is out of our room so they could clean and go home. Very frustrating experience. We were told pillows had just been changed 2 weeks ago but the pillows on one of the beds smelled very musty and stale. One of the worst experiences ever.

Fairly all-around access to almost anywhere.

Great staff. Could be hard to find where the hotel is since it's not close to the street, but at the same time it's really quiet at night. Shopping centers are located around the hotel within walking distance. Nice place to stay and greater if you rented a car. Rooms are cleaned really nicely. Breakfast wasn't that bad.

The entrance to the hotel was a little tricky . The hotel staff was awesome and the overall hotel was outstanding .. The rooms need a bit more attention, Found a gatoraid bottle under the bed and all of the furniture could use some touching up. But the beds were super comfy and bathroom cleanliness was A+ .. We will definitely stay here again.

some party was going in the hotel champion room and the music was so loud I could identify the songs from more than 50 feet away in my room. The first night was not bad the music stopped about 1030. But the second night the music was way louder and the hotel staff did very little until in my 4th call to the front desk I told them law enforcement would be contacted if they could not handle the problem. That finally got them to end the music at 1130.

Sometimes, the reviews you see online aren't completely true.

Its either because of an isolated event or issue, then the guest bases his stay review on that.

I would say overall my experience at this hotel has been very good, especially the service level of the sales director at this location - Mr. Marcus. He went the extra mile to ensure we had a pleasant stay and we appreciate him for that.

.......and for the records, the breakfast was fine- cereals/fresh fruit/yoghurt, turkey sausage and omelette.

They could do with some vegetables and more spice in the omelette though

I chose this room based on the fact that I would be stuck there with my four kids while my husband was on a business trip. I was ready to spend a few days in the pool and hot tub, to entertain my children. But.. the pictures lie. There is no hot tub. They closed the pool to \"clean the filter\" .. anywhere else would have cleaned it and opened the pool back up. They kept it closed all day and we're like \"sorry for your luck\" basically. The Jets in out tub in the room were broke. The toilet ran all night. House keeping woke me up at 9 all three mornings I was there. My toddler woke up screaming from the knocking. It was so annoying and frustrating. I can understand knocking at around check out.. but nine is way too early. The area was dead and boring. The over all vibe was just bad. Breakfast was okay. Won't go back again.

A FAST one-nighter on a work project, room was great, finding the site took over 40 mins due to the WRONG address on Hotels.com, the place must be in a bad neighborhood because when I came down in the morning and put my belongings in the car, then re-entered to have breakfast, the lady running the breakfast area practically attacked me demanding my room key and asking me over and over and was literally in my face wanting to know my room number. I was dressed in clean jeans and a new gold shirt, so I didn't look like I was homeless. I was EXTREMELY put off by that, asking me once while I got my room key out was enough, she treated me like a street urchin that wandered in looking for free food. It was enough, I'll never come to this place again. Also, GET THE ADDRESS RIGHT on Hotels.com!!!!!!!!!

A staff member at the front desk on a Monday morning was absolutely the rudest person! My wife and I were eating breakfast and she wanted a Dr. Pepper from the shop. She walked over and because her name wasn't on the room, she was refused. I went to the desk and asked them to put it on room like they have many many times. She said she needs an ID. I told her it was in the room, and I would get it after we ate breakfast. This woman began yelling at wife across the lobby that she is stealing a Dr. Pepper and proceeded to yank it from her! This infuriated me greatly! Then the woman began threatening us with the police for theft! I demanded to speak with management whom wasn't on the property. After 30 minutes an assistant GM arrived. He was very nice and apologetic. I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions. In the end, all I received was an apology from him at that time. I will not stay at this hotel ever again!
Nobody deserves this kind of treatment, especially after spending their hard earned money there!

Motel kind of hotel!

This is the worst hotel in my life. First of all it is very old and it should be knock down. There is a night club & a party space nearby and I couldn't sleep until 3am because of the noice of the party. People are very rough in that area that's why hotel hired a security guard at night time. For the breakfast area, seats are very limited. Breakfast was very good. My room was okay. All staff members were friendly.

Only problem was malfunctioning air conditioner in our first room. Eventually they moved us and second room was fine. They should inform guests that the controls on the wall do not control the a/c. That would've saved us a lot of time in figuring out there was a problem.

The hotel was nice and clean. The breakfast was fruitful (never ran out). The front desk staff was friendly and extremely helpful as i am new to the area and they directed us to places using routes better than the gps provided. I was a little upset upon arriving in the city because i am used to the holiday inn express sign being seen from the highways in which theirs weren't. We were traveling from california and were extremely tired and exhausted from the ride and the address to the hotel when put into gps takes you 20 miles from the actual location which resulted in me calling the hotel several times. The night auditor never changed his upbeat tone rather helped guide us to the hotel. I truly appreciated that. I will recommend this property to anyone traveling to the area. The only issue we Did have is the housekeeper knocked on our door one morning at 9am and we advised we were still there (checkout is at 11). She was still in earshot and we heard her say in spanish \"They are supposed to checkout today but watch them wait until 11! They get on my nerves\"! We had only been their one night and were waiting for our house to get ready and we ended up booking another night. Moral of this is, be mindful of what you say. Just because we aren't of hispanic descent doesn't mean we dont speak spanish so be mindful of what you say! I thought thats was very distasteful and unprofessional. Other than that I would've rated the hotel 5 stars across the board.

We planned a trip to Houston and the downtown area. At the last minute, We chose to go to Houston a day early and needed a room near Cypress Creek Pkwy (1960) and Veterans Memorial Blvd for some personal business. The whole experience: booking, arriving, check-in, sleeping, check-out, ... excellent! It fit our needs perfectly.
