Good location on the edge of the village, room was large and great view but I would say that is the best thing about the hotel.

The hotel is very basic and dated with limited facilities.

No tea or coffee facilities in the room, no bar open, breakfast very basic and expensive for what was on offer.

Very dated TV in rooms so could not connect to streaming TV likes of Netflixs, so not really much to watch, could go downstairs to the bar/reception as this was shut, so you need to go into the village for anything to do (and this was very limited on places to go).

Staff was very pleasant and tried to help with ideas on where to go.

Maybe it would be different in summer and the hotel may open the areas???

Needs to update the photos on the websites as it is not what is advertised.

The location was ideal for us to venture easily into Innsbruck by bus - bus stop was less than 2 minute walk away. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains and was spacious and clean. The friendly staff was eager to assist us and followed through with our requests i.e. another blanket for the room. There are no extras in the room i.e. coffee maker or small fridge which would have been nice. Restaurant was only open for the pre-purchased breakfast only at this time. The area had neat stores and restaurants as well as walking paths in the forest - some leading to the Ski Resort. We took the Cable Car ride up the mountain which overlooked the area including Innsbruck. Two nights stay here qualified us to receive the Welcome Innsbruck Card that they gave us at check in. This was a nice perk as it granted us free bus transportation in the region and discounts on local attractions. We were only here for 2 nights - appears to be lots to do in the area - summer and winter. We would easily stay here again!

This hotel is a bit on the dated side. While the price was very reasonable and the staff was very helpful, it did feel a bit run down and tired. If you are a budget conscious traveler then likely this will fit the bill as it is safe and quite reasonably priced for the area. To be fair we were there in the shoulder season and maybe everything gets tidied up for the ski season. As for the area Igls is a nice quiet area that is close to Innsbruck, I highly recommend visiting Innsbruck and Igls as they are both wonderful places to visit in the Tyrol region.

Location is brilliant and the staff are incredibly welcoming.Public transport into Innsbruck was easy to access. Eco friendly.
Our beds were dreadful and the sheets were worn through in spots. The outside balcony had layers of pigeon poo which was unpleasant. The photos on the internet were taken some years ago.

Igls is a quiet, cute town, and so even though the hotel was out of Innsbruck itself there were places to eat at night (though not too late). Hotel has fantastic views of the surrounding mountains, at least from the dining area. Breakfast was a good, standard European buffet. Transportation into town was easy: the bus stop was at the bottom of the hill, and one came every ten minutes all day. WiFi was good.

The restaurant owned by the Gruberhof was almost entirely out of food when we got there, and everywhere is a smoking section.

This family- owned inn/hotel was welcoming with a very comfortable room and great views. It was near Innsbruck in the beautiful town of Igls. I would stay there again as I prefer older Inns/hotels with charm & character. The breakfast was good and the people were friendly.

Not worth the price

The area is very beautiful and suitable for hiking and cycling, and the hotel has a nice natural pool. However, we just had to use the hotel for a single night and went for a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. The room was not worth the money. The bathroom was a tiny plastic box mounted inside the room, and the exhaust sounded loud when someone used the toilet or bath. The room was not the least bit cozy and we had to ask to get new bulbs in all the lamps. We ate in the restaurant and one of us got his main course 20 minutes before the others.

Really great hotel! Has a nice little swimming lake and dock with the beautiful mountains as the backdrop. I stayed here twice on my way through to Italy. Close to the little town and whatever you might need. The staff were very nice and the room was perfect! I highly recommend :)

I stayed here twice on my way from Germany to Italy and back. The rooms are beautiful and also quaint (in a good way :) and there is a beautiful little lake to swim in, right in front of the gorgeous Mountain View. Everyone was so kind to me and spoke great English of course. Also very nice to my dog! And he loved his stay in nature... after being in busy Italy. Had a lovely Riesling at the restaurant in the sun. Not too hot in August! Convenient parking as well. I highly recommend!

Beautiful views in pleasant village by Innsbruck

Our room was spacious and nicely furnished, and had a beautiful outlook over the swimming pond and sun bathing area and valley and mountains. This part was very pleasing. The room had curtains but they are not blockout and no blinds / shutters which in my case means I'm awake as soon as it gets light. The extractor fan in the bathroom is so noisy i didn't want to use any lights at night as to not wake others up. Cleanliness of the room was just fine and well attended to, however the carpets in the hallways are old and stained and simply unappealing. The hallways are unpleasant with dark oyr varnish walls and also poorly lit on sensors that are spaced too far apart. The main way out of the building gets locked at night which i find very problematic in case of a fire as one can't easily get out. Staff was friendly and helpful and accommodating which we appreciated. Just make sure you get there before 6pm for check-in. Public transport / bus connection to the hotel's closest stop is every 30 minutes, alternatively a few minutes further down in the village the bus goes every 10 minutes during the week. If you have heavy luggage catch a taxi at 17€ from Innsbruck railway station. The hotel is still \"sort of\" ski in ski out as there is a small lift nearby. The main gondola going up the mountain, however, has been moved further up the mountain and the old one that the hotel had wonderful access to, decommissioned. The new one can be reached by bus.

I visit Innsbruck frequently and had a wonderful time staying at the Hotel Gruberhof. Stephan checked us in and made us feel very welcome, and even gave us an upgrade to a Mountain View room! The view was incredible, and the room very comfortable. We will definitely come back to stay at the Gruberhof!

I stayed here on Christmas Eve in route to another location. The hotel infored us before hand that all restraunts would be closed that evening and offered a 5 course menu that was wonderful!!! The staff also alllowed ust o check out late on Christmas Day with no extra charge!

Excellent Hotel and great value for money, but you will need a car. Innsbruck is a 20 minute drive and easy to get to.
Very pretty ski orientated village and it even started to snow while we were there. Very Christmassy.

The view is Priceless!!!!

Overall this hotel was like a dream, but not because of anything special inside the hotel itself but the location. The hotel is steps away from a lift that takes you into the Austrain Alps witch was the highlight of our stay, but a trip up and dowm is priced at 50 euros. The hotel was dated but clean. Breakfast was 20 euros and very average! Would stay again.

Very Friendly Hotel

This hotel was very cute and the people who worked the hotel and the restaurant were very sweet. It was a short walk down to the bus which takes you straight to the city, but you should be careful to make sure that on the way back you don't wait to get off at the same stop because the bus doesn't stop there on the way back (which was odd). The only drawback to the hotel was that the beds were very uncomfortable.

Good hotel with decent rooms and great views all over. Rooms are a bit dated and back on to what looks like a housing estate but the front the hotel has awesome views. Its on a hill about 10 kms from Innsbruck so a bit of a drive to get into town. There are very few restaurants in the vicinity so lack of good eating options.

Very nice place to stay. Breakfast was decent, not spectacular but sufficient for the task at hand which was skiing. Rooms were bare bones, but they were comfortable and worked.

This is the great Alpine lodging, family run with the exceptional Tiroler Hospitality! Igls is a dream town only a few marks above Innsbruck. The Lift up to Palschertkofel is worth all year round!! Smashing vistas all year, and good ski slopes in the winter! the lift starts only a few yards from the Hotel Lobby! Apres Ski- couldnt think of a better location! The Owners are great hosts!

Check-in is from 16:00-18:00

We were a little alarmed to arrive at 21:00 and to find the hotel dark -- if I had read the details I would have known that check-in closed at 18:00, but I did not. We found our key around back, thanks to a sign on the door and some help from a passer-by. Breakfasts weren't great, but adequate. Hotel staff seemed mostly indifferent, as if they were doing you a favour by letting you stay there. The whole place smells of stale smoke, which is off-putting. Our room was spacious and quite nice, but the fact that people are allowed to smoke on the verandah kind of ruined it for us. We could not keep our window or door open to the fresh mountain air because the neighbours were heavy smokers. Would be a more enjoyable experience for smokers, I think. Situation is beautiful, and travel into Innsbruck is very easy. Price is good compared with others in the area, so you get what you pay for.

We were very happy with our stay. It was very close to the tram station, within walking distance of about 100 meters, to take you to a beautiful view overlooking Innsbruck without having to deal with the traffic of Innsbruck. They have neat swimming pond and very courteous staff.

Secluded and rustic

Hotel Gruberhof is a beautiful building overlooking Salzburg. It has a gret view, but you will want to have a car to get there. (It's a bit too far from the city to walk to the nearest bus station.) Be warned: parking in Salzburg can get expensive in a hurry.
The rooms are on the spare side of simple and somewhat outdated, but the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok and the bus station was very close. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that there wasn't free wifi in the rooms but it could have been worse. Overall it was a great experience.

Book a superior room at THE HOF

Great room if you book a superior one. Very spacious, plenty of storage space, small lounge area, balcony and superb view across Innsbruck to a backdrop of Mountains. Warm and comfortable. From what we could see, standard rooms looked very basic and corridor looked 'run down' So definitely book a superior. Hotel food typically Austrian, decent quality. Location ideal for Patscherkofel cablecar - couple of minutes away. Nice little hotel bar. Prices average. Was served by a James Martin lookalike! Overall, good experience and would recommend.

Great little hotel

Spent 5 days in Igls snowboarding, had a fabulous time. Hotel's location is very good indeed. 5 min walk from the cable car, 7mins into the village where there are several restaurants/bars and a half decent food shop. If you're skiiing/boarding at Patch you can even ski/board right back to the hotel if the snow is good enough!

Hotel itself is basic but perfectly adequate - especially for the price. Staff are friendly and helpful.

As other reviews have said be sure to book the newer rooms, they are slightly more expensive but well worth it from what I gathered.

Wir hatten eine nur Nacht auf unserem Transit. Dafür war es in Ordnung. Die Zimmer waren groß und sauber. Am besten hat uns das Frühstück gefallen. Insgesammt sollte die Lokation doch etwas aufgepeppt werden.

Très bel environnement avec la nature autour et pourtant très proche d'Innsbruck en plus avec 2 nuits on dispose de la welcome card qui permet d'utiliser gratuitement les transports en commun et un bus y va directement a 100 m de l'hôtel un bon point pour la chambre bien équipée et facile d'accès depuis le parking

Diese Unterkunft hat Tradition.
Natürlich sieht man es auch - aber es ist sauber und alle sehr freundlich! Lage und Anbindung in die Innenstadt super.
Bald steht ein Umbau und Renovierung an - wir freuen uns.

En tidslomme

Taget godt imod i receptionen, forventningerne til denne østrigske perle, var måske for høje.
Restauranten var lukket. Badesøen var reelt set nok mere bare en sø. Og livet svar suget ud af hotellet.
60 mennesker
Overnattede i alt på hotellet den aften, men baren forblev lukket og vi måtte hver især side ude på teressen med eget bragt mad og drikke. Stemmer ikke overens med prisen.
